A lady i know yesterday gave me a tip to prepare for b'feeding, shes a labour support person, anyway, she said to get some sun on the nipples to toughen the skin up, 10 mins a day, hmmnn, see if hubby like the idea of topless bathing then
Haha I love it, I know my hubby would love it... however, being due in May, and living in Canberra, not sure this is going to happen! 
apparently you should give the belly 10mins a day as well for the Vit D to pass through your skin - i just stand outside for 10 mins (not in the full sun) topless and everyone gets the sun

for some reason, the show 'Desperate Housewives' just came into my head from that comment. It's a great idea, but my neighbours are too nosey (ie. they poke their heads over the fence if they know we're out there) and I'm scared of getting sunburnt - my skin is just too pale!

I think just airing them helps too, when you first start feeding, but when you start getting colostrum, express a bit & rub it in & let it air dry

Im up for all the tips that I can get..... I never wanted to breastfeed until i got pregnant with specialK - reason being I have actually suffered mastitis since i was 12! I get it every cycle and really was scared to breastfeed. But now I want to try! I just want to give him/her everything that i possibly can!
I have heard this too.
I got in a bit if topless sun when on holiday, and it felt good.. my belly and boobs loved it! Thought I wasn't game to get the boobs out on the beach, my massive chocolate drop nipples would have scared the kiddies away
