OK - a few more things sorted. HTB has chosen his ring - will buy it Sunday. Also sorted out my hen's night:
http://www.kingpinbowling.com.au/crown/f_bucksandhens.htmlI am REALLY pleased about that, because it is reasonably priced, ok for those who are pregnant (lots of chairs, and they don't have to bowl if they don't want to) has a bar but the non-drinkers can still enjoy doing something other than drinking etc. I am really pleased

Harmonie - we haven't done the intention thing yet - we're getting the baptism certs etc. and then going to see the priest next week and do it then - apparently they organise all that!
In terms of budget, I suppose we're on track - Mum hasn't started whining, so that's always a good sign!!! Have been keeping track, and ours will probably come in between 20 - 25 (not including the honeymoon, wedding bands, first night etc. which we are paying for). I have been paying everything as we go, but have a whole stack of deposits which Mum and I need to organise pretty soon!
OK - off to start dinner!

I posted my first invites today (the International one and interstate ones)!!!! HOW EXCITING!!!!!
I also called the priest that i was waiting to hear back from and he is unable to do the wedding

so he gave me a number to call to get a list of priests that are available to do weddings. The lady gave me three numbers, the two younger chirpy ones were already booked and the third older retired priest was free - we will probably meet up with him next week to get things started (not enough time to get picky and choosy - hehe) It's only a 30min ceremony so as long as all the vows and things are done it doesn't really matter i guess!
Puggie, as i said earlier i think you are gonna have a great time at your hens night there - especially as you get the drinks that the pregnant women can't drink! HEHE
I'm going to local wedding expo tomorrow to see florist and work out exactly what colours i want. I'll of course have to look at everything else while i'm there though! I love expos!!!

Ok, suit pics like I promised.

It's hard to imagine what it'll look like when you see a diff shirt/tie.

H2B will be in bronze

GMs in green to match the BMs. It's a diff green but I think it'll go well.
Atm I think I'll put them all in white ranunculus bouts, just a slightly diff style for h2b. Gotta confirm with the florist that they're available first.

WE'RE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK - I have been a BUSY B2B!
Have organised:
- HTB's wedding band
- Table runners - on markdown from $30 to $10 at Spotlight. I needed 10 and, you guessed it, they had 10! MEANT TO BE!
Also got quote from one of the florists I REALLY liked. $565!!!!!!!!!! SO cheap! There was another place I liked even more, so we'll see what that quote comes back as, but if it's too dear, I am happy with the one I just got!
ALSO booked in measurement dates for my bridesmaid to have her dress measurements, have taken our baptism and birth certificates in for the priest to start drawing up the paperwork for the intention to marry. IT'S ALL HAPPENING!
Can't wait to hear all about you and yours!

so i went in yesterday for my first fitting to make sure the dress was right, etc! Here are a couple of pics for you guys......i am a bit dissapointed in how it looks in the photos - looks nothing like the model LOL
Click to view attachmentClick to view attachmentClick to view attachmentPlease note that i will have a nice tan by wedding - hehe and hopefully lost another 5kg! Hair will have soft romantic curls and will have nice make up on not be all hot and bothered from rushing to get to appointment! LOL Train may be reduced in size a bit too??? Haven't fully decided on this yet.

wooohooo I-do is back - been waiting for it for days!!
kylz ur dress is beautiful!! i love it and u look fab in it too

.....what material is that if i may ask?? coz the material looks very similar to mine and speaking of dresses im waiting for my phone call any day now to say that mine's come in!!! cant wait to get back to the shop to try it on again....
we hit the jackpot on the weekend we found our bonbon boxes - very exciting....and got some filler stuff for them too - they're cute lil red boxes with white swirly love hearts over them - IYKWIM....
ummm what else hmmm i think thats all we did wedding related, oh and handed out a few more invite and we've started to get our first rsvp's which kinda makes it hit home that were well and truly getting closer to the date more and more everyday!
Harmonie - the invites shown are the ones we made, no sample (the sample looks shoddy now compared to the finished products) it was all done by us after some long nites and bickering but they're all finished now and were just sending them out slowly...to close family and friends first and the rest afterwards....
have a lovely day ladies!!

Hi girls. I havent been on here in awhile... and then everytime i tried I-Do wasnt working. Anyway, wow, you've all been soooo busy!!!

Andrew and i have finally decided on an outline for our invites, just need to find the right coloured cardboard / paper for it, and make them, my wedding ring should be finished by the end of next week - cant wait!! Oh, and our reception centre has made contact with us asking us to come for our menu tasting and discuss the nights events. Its all getting so real now, its scaring me!!!
We have also booked our date with the cake people, but havent chosen a cake design yet. We should do that this week me thinks!
Our bombonnieres are ordered, and should have arrived monday... but alas we are still waiting for them!
Ummm, andrew really needs a kick in the butt to get his brothers to try on the suits. Bcause the suits are from SpurLing, i'm thinking we might just tell his brothers to go to their local one and try it on, otherwise they'll never get down here. I can see what they'll look like if andrew takes my brother. I just need to see that the colours match.
What else... OH, GREAT NEWS, our (cancelled) reception centre were able to re-book the room we cancelled so
WE GET OUR DEPOSIT BACK!!!!! It was $500 which will come in very handy!!!! YAHHHH!!! I was seriously starting to think with 3 mths to go that no one would take it, even though we cancelled 10 mths ago! But obviously someone needs a wedding venue quickly!!!
So anyway, thats my update. Now its time i got back to one of my 2 assignments which are due next week!
PS - Kylz your dress is gorgeous!
PPS - how scary is this, on Nov 10th i become a qualified teacher, on Nov 18th I become andrews wife!!!

Hi girls! Quick check in.
Kylz - I think your dress is stunning - you are going to make a beautiful bride!! I have got my try-on / pick-up in Sydney this Monday - I am soooooooo excited. me and Mum are going up on Sunday and making a trip of it - going to DFO and Ikea at Homebush (will look for bud vases there) and Myer and DJs for her outfit! Will be sure to post pics when i get them....

Exciting about the bonbon boxes Jules and the table runners Puggie - I love it when I can tick off a little details like that - its so exciting!
QUOTE

I wish ou reception centre was remotely interested in doing menu tastings / talking to me about details of the day

I must say I am a bit disappointed with them at this point in time - I hope things improve.
Other than that, progressing with little things. Our disposable cameras arrived the other day - so added them to my box of wedding things. have also got organza bags and ribbon for the bonbon.
Am still in the thick of invite making - have come to the conclusion that they are really amateur looking - but for some reason I am not too bothered by this. I think I am in the stage of thinking no one is going to care or remember anyway! I will also post pics of those when I have got them done. International ones are due to be snet out in two weeks so better get my skates on!

Thanks for all your comments on my dress guys - i can't wait to wear it for real with all my hair and make up and my beautiful bridal party (and of course my spunky new husband) next to me!!!
Good luck with the shoe shopping Harmonie! I can't give advice as i'm not a big shoe person, i just got mine from a shop called Shoex in Werribee Plaza.
Great work with all the little details everyone - i can't believe we are up to all the little bits an pieces now - it's not far away at all
Oh and we finally have a priest!!! Woohoo!! One of my dad's friends put us on to a priest that used to be at Yarraville and he is free to do the wedding.....he's an irish priest and i don't think you could get a more irish name than Fr Paddy May! HEHE

Hi Everyone!
Well I went to the docs. She thinks everything is okay but still wants me to see a specialist to confirm her findings and for a second option - Just in case. I also had a full BT done and have the all clear for everything! So I guess we are going to 'see what happens'
I am exicted I am going off to try on my dress today - Although by myself! As my parents had to race off to NSW as grandad is in IC and not well (I couldn't get time off work) And my trusty BM is so sick - I told her not to come... But Paul came shoe shopping with me last night - NOT MANY OPTIONS! But chose a pair - not sure how happy I am about them - But Paul liked them and it was cute to get his opinion and stand up next to him (slightly taller still! - he is a shorty!)
So shall let you know all about it!!!
Have a great weekend!

Hi Everyone
Am I the bearer of bad news...
My gradad passed on Sunday night and I can not make the funeral
As it is being held in Taree and its too far to go for the day and there is no one here at work that can cover me! As I am currently covering everyone else.....
Oh well today I am feeling better... It was for the best and his quality of life was dropping... I am just gald mum made it...
Funny thing is... After saying her good-byes in the afternoon her and dad went for dinner... After the late dinner they walked back toward the hospital just as they were about to enter the doors there was a loud clash of thunder.... Mum turned to dad and said he is saying good-bye, he is gone... Dad said don't be silly.... As they walked to the room a nurse came out and said I am sorry he has just passed....
I am glad mum had that moment and travelled there to be with him.
How has everyone else been ???

it can be really difficult missing important family things like that. if you can take some time out later that day, perhaps you can do your own symbolic goodbye - play a song that reminds you of him, light a candle and maybe just take half an hour or so to write out how you feel.
it might help you in the long run, not to feel that you've missed out on your grieving.
Good luck :-)

Hi girls
Harmonie, sorry to hear about your Grandfather - I went through the same thing with my Gran two weeks ago, so hugs to you.
Well, had a very successful trip up to Sydney on the weekend, found a wedding outfit for Mum and picked up my dress - yay! Was slightly disappointed as it wasn't perfect - it looks like they forgot to add a couple of gathers on the right hand side - but it is an easy fix and will get it done at the same time as my hem and bustle here in Canberra. And, lucky for me..... as soon as I put it on I fell in love with it all over again!
Here are some piccies - let me know what you think!
Also, the veil I am wearing is the one that I ended up buying - wasn't expecting to but is down from $200 to $50.... bargain!

stunning millie_belle, stunning!
we've done (almost) all our invitations, the gift registry is up online, and the cards have arrived to pop in
wedding laugh for you for the day: we decided some time ago, that the honeymoon would be a surprise for me. so for a few weeks now, FH has said "it's all booked - I'm so excited, it'll be the best holiday we ever have" etc ad nauseum. no choice he'd let it slip as he's totally secret squirrel about such things.
then last night, out for dinner with our MC and his wife, and our MC turns to his wife and says "remember last week, we saw that amazing holiday venue x? guess what - that's where FH is taking seedyem1978!"
then he turned white: "you're not meant to know that are you?"
he feels terrible, FH laughs, and I think it's the funniest thing ever.
part of me thinks it's possibly a total ruse to throw me off the scent... hmmm

OK - a small wedding update. My flowers are decided:
Bouquet;
A very natural, uncontrived teardrop bouquet using sculptural clusters
of flowers. To include varieties such as white phaelonopsis orchids with
a brown tongue, brown Singapore orchids, ivory waterlilies, brown or
brown tinged succulents, hypericum berries and vine. To be approximately 25cm wide x 40cm long.
$275.00
Bridesmaid Bouquet;
Similar in combination to your bouquet with maybe a few more browns.
Again, very natural and clustered, but a more rounded shape with a small trail. About 20cm wide x 30cm long.
$175.00
Buttonholes ;
1 x Small phaelonopsis orchids with berries and vine - $15 each
3 x Singapore orchids with berries and vine - $6.50 each
Corsages;
2 x wrist and handbag corsages - $35 each
Delivery into city - $15. This would include delivery of buttonholes
and bouquets to separate addresses if need be.
Total: $569.50
Am excited about this, as I have been really sweating on which of 2 places to choose (CM - I went with the place in Hawthorn!)
So - what else is there left to organise?!

I can't come Saturday - my mum is arriving over from NZ and we're going shopping for an outfit for her for the wedding. She has instructed (quote unquote): "I don't want to look like the Mother of the Bride, I just want to look like the bride's mum"
She's very sweet and I can't wait to see her!
Your flowers sound stunning!
I'm looking forward to seeing my florist again a month before. He's said that way he can work out what is doing well in the season. I was keen on peonies, but he said last year his supplier sold them all overnight to Elton John (- no I'm not kidding!) so he didn't want to promise he could get them in.
This weekend is makeup trial with my mum, and FH's mum and sister (and trying on my dress again afterward!).

Thanks for the comments about the dress girls - I really do love it! And the best thing is, I showed Abb@y Br!dal pictures of me in the sample dress I tried on 6 months ago and me in the dress I picked up, and they agreed that it wasn't up to standard - so they have offered me $200 to get it fixed down here in canberra - so glad I phoned them up! Now am just really hoping that it can be fixed - have got an appointment with the dressmaker tomorrow...
I sent an email to the company in Wales, UK we are ordering our bonbon for the girls from to see when they would be posting the order I made 8 weeks ago - they had no record of it!! eek! Hi girls... i've broken into double digits - 99 days to go

Hmmm, i need to go and see my florist now that i definately know what flowers i want, and pay that off so its one less thing to worry about closer to the date, my ring should be finished (hopefully), and i might pop in and see it this afternoon.
Oh, i've just found out that i'm not going to be able to get my wedding shoes because the company who supplies them (to the bridal store i'm getting them though) are being really uncooporative and i was told one girl has waited over 3 months to get her shoes, so there's no chance of mine coming in on time... so i'm going to have to head to sydney and shop around there. Grrr, these shoes were gorgeous and sooooooooooo comfortable, and cheaper than places like P@anache and Am0re. *sigh* What a hassle.... Who said weddings were easy???!!!

On a happier note, andrew and i finally agreed on an invitation style, and we've bought the paper for them. My mum and andrews mum want to make them as they have more spare time than andrew and me, so we'll let them. Its one less thing we need to worry about then. Plus, it makes them feel included in the whole wedding preparations.
Anyway, i'm off to ring the reception centre and book our "semi-final" appointment. Have a great day!!!

Hi girls

I've ordered our rings! They should be done in 2-3 weeks. And the girl I had my makeup trial with didn't get my message when I cancelled and she just emailed me saying she's sorry but she has to cancel AND offering me my money back from the trial. Yippee!
On a lower note, cherry blossoms are out. That doesn't bode well but I won't stress about it too much cuz you can't change Mother Nature. Perth has very mediterranean weather so more southern parts of WA or eastern states may bloom later. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Maiko, how good was that about make up artist - BONUS!!!! Bummer about the Cherry blossoms - oh well, if it's not meant to be it's not meant to be!
Harmonie, did you take any pics at your dress fitting??? I bet you looked absolutely stunning!
After not doing much weddingy for the last few weeks this week is going to have a few things done. Tonight we went and tried on some suits (just pete to start with so we could work out what he wanted before dragging the boys along). Then we headed into myer in city and added to our very short gift registry list!

Currently I am doing up last few invites (i was already done but pete decided he wanted to invite a few work colleagues so now i have to do up a few more!

) I thought they were all done and out of the way so it's not fun having to do more! Then tomorrow we are having day one of our pre marrital course (it's only for an hour - we have to answer about 160 questions which they then send off and when they get it back we go for another hour to discuss any issues)
Wrote a to do list the other day and there are so many little things, but i'm not gonna let the list stress me cos they are exactly that, little things....things like a phone call to confirm this or an email to confirm that or making sure things are paid. All little things which i will get done
See you Melbourne chickidees tomorrow!!!

Hi Lovely ladies...
I haven't managed to come and post for awhile, have been very busy. H2b had annual leave this past week, so we were busy doing things and not home much for me to come in and post.
Melbourne Meet - Hope you girls have fun. Once again I'm missing out. H2b is leaving today to go to Sydney for 4 days (for work) and originally I was going to go with him, but we can't afford for me to go aswell

That was the reason why I couldn't make it this weekend.

Hi girls!
Just wanted to check in to see how to the catchup went yesterday, and catch you up with my plans.
Mum arrived Friday morning, and we wasted no time shopping for her outfit. We found a stunning outfit for mum at DJs in Anthea Crawford, and shoes from Myer. Today, we had a makeup trial - and I LOVE it!
I have smokey eyes, and flushed red lips, and look like a Hollywood silver screen siren! So happy!
I tried on my dress again too, and am so relieved that it fits. I'd become really anxious that I'd put on weight since I bought it in March, but those fears were unfounded.
And perhaps most hilariously, we took mum's outfit to FH's mum's place today, and (not only do their outfits co-ordinate beautifully) they have selected the same shoes in different colours!
I hope you're all well :-)

Seedyem, glad to hear you had a successful weekend shopping for your mum's outfit! Well done! I hope you took pics to share of your fabulous make up trial and in your dress???
H2B and i went to our pre marriage course thing yesterday - we just had to answer about 175 questions about us and our relationship and our future (yes, no, uncertain answers) and then they send our forms off and in 3 weeks we go back and discuss any issues or differences that were found in our answers.
I didn't get round to doing those other 5 invites (well, i did print 3 of them up just didn't cut or put any together - i'll do it during the week, promise!)

Hehe - I see you there CM! HTB and I just got back from a SUMPTUOUS meal at Cheeky Monkey and her HTBs house. CM CAN COOK!!!!
Other than that we were at our pre-marriage counselling session today (the last one). It was good, but Harmonie - there WAS a section on sex

See what you have to look forward to

That's it for me except off to try on a wedding bra tomorrow

Oops - just realised what this read like

I meant see what you have to look forward to AT THE SESSION (NOT the other way

)
Here's a pic of us Melbourne Nov girls who attended the last meet up - self, cheeky monkey, kylz4 and harmonie. We had a great time, and are all looking forward to the next one (harmonie's organising it - somewhere out near Krispy Kremes!)

OK - off to go try on wedding bras now!

Thanks for posting the pic Puggie!
Had a fairly productive weekend - made invites, put heaps of gifts on our registry (so much fun!) and paid some more $$ off our rings.... I tried mine on again.... I love love love it!

how lovely to see the photo of you all :-)
I got to work, to an e-mail that our first gift has been purchased off the registry! (the matching white and pink uber-soft bathrobes). I'm stunned, as the first invites were only posted on Thursday. Now I have 3 months to wait to see who bought them for us.
I totally forgot to take photos of my makeup trial, and decided I'm not willing to risk having photos of me in my dress until after the wedding (I want FH to be REALLY surprised)
