Well a MOST successful meet up was held. Harmonie, Kylz, Cheeky Monkey and I met at the Box Hill RSL and managed to spend 3.5 hours chatting about our weddings!

We all enjoyed it so much, we're thinking of having another in 4 - 6 weeks time in Willamstown (Kylz organising that one)! Hopefully seedyem and xbuffyx can make the next one smile.gif

Gals - it was nice to actually meet and chat and share stories, experiences and advice! I, for one, really got a lot out of it - it was fabby to meet IRL the people I am sharing such a special journey with smile.gif
mimo
Harmonie, Kylie and Amy - thanks for this afternoon. It was good fun catching up! smile.gif

Buffy - sorry to hear about your sleepless night, hope u are feeling better now.

Amy - thanks so much for taking charge of the meet and organising it!

And we're doing it again in 4-6 weeks - in Williamstown! Yaay! smile.gif
blahblah

... I'm still exhausted and I think I might need to go to the physio my back is still hurting.

awww I'm insanely jealous... hope you had a few drinks for me? tongue.gif smile.gif

Glad you girls had a great time... hmm Williamstown is abit far for me (I'm in outer eastern subs)...but I will see what I can do.

Where abouts in Williamstown???

Did you girlies take any piccies?? smile.gif

Puggie
We did but Kylz camera went flat. DOH! We all admired each other's invites, though tongue.gif

We thought we'd do Williamstown next time as it's closer for Seedyem and Kylz (and we held it over this way this time for CM, me and yourself, xbuffyx).

One after that will have to be at Crispy Creme's, eh Harmonie?!?
kylz4
Well gorgeous ladies, as Puggie and Cheeky Monkey have said, a great day was had by all today sharing stories and ideas, etc. I'd also like to say it was a pleasure meeting you lovely ladies and being able to talk 'wedding talk' all day without feeling obsessed!!!!! hehe

It is up to me to now arrange the next one which we have decided on having at Williamstown (only about 10-15min out of city heading west).

How's Sunday 6th August 12.30pm for you lovely Melbourne girls??? Hopefully xbuffyx and Seedyem can make it, will be great to hear some of their stories and ideas!!!!

Let me know if you can make it or if diff time date would suit better.

So far we have

Kylie
Puggie
Harmonie
blahblah

ooo Krispy Kreme's !! Am yet to splurge on those VERY unhealty donuts *drooool*

Hey thats no probs about Williamstown, its only fair! smile.gif
I will do my best to make it... my biggest problem (much to my embarrasment of admitting it) is that I dont drive ph34r.gif (working on it though tongue.gif) but will figure something out as I would love to come.

All I ever seem to do is talk about babies with mums group and friends ... so nice to talk about something else for a change with who I can relate too in regards to weddings smile.gif smile.gif

This evening I've been racking my brain for First Dance songs..we have a friend whose mum is a dance teacher and we have asked her to help us put something together. Its such a hard decision as there a plenty of songs I would love to use. But we need to decide fairly soon what to use so we can make a start.

Have my flower appointment tomorrow evening. Yay!! Hopefully another thing out of the way.

Good Night ladies....
Puggie
Well not driving is not a huge issue. If you WANT to come, CM and I are likely to carpool there from the next suburb but one over .... Just let us know.
Harmonie
Hi Everyone smile.gif

Well ladies I had THE BEST time! And went home last night going over the entire day to Paul (not sure if he cared as much as me!)

But I am so glad I can now picture you all and am very much looking forward to the next one! I can do August 6th! And for for maybe the last one before all our weddings can be Krsipy Kreme (fact: 1 x donut takes 45 minutes to work off - so extra time that week tongue.gif )

Thanks so much for the jewellery contact i shall call this week! And so much for Paul and I romantic night away the SOCCER is on that night! Portugal made it through but still the ONLY weekend away! I had to call them today to make sure they had tv's! But suits this weekend!

And I hope to do an invite and I shall post it up (but this may take me a few weeks - don't hold your breath! But after looking at all your gorgeous invites I rallied my BM's and we are going to tackle it together!

Well hope this posts! And i shall speak to you gals soon smile.gif

kylz4
Hope this works, been trying for a while to post it!

I'm so glad we all left yesterday having had a great time....that = big success!

As much as i'm looking forward to Krispy Kreme's i'm not looking forward to the extra long workout afterwards!!!! hehe

What a bugger about your weekend away!!!! Oh well, the game is only 90min out of the night! Is it a late game????

Can't wait to see your invite.....the sample so far yesterday looked stunning!!!!

Good luck with suits. I think pete and i are going to try and get to myer fri night to start our gift registry list. I think we will do the suits in a week or two when he takes a day off work for some other stuff. Weekends are taken up with him working on the decking mainly.
Maybe we should take our camera's along when the boys try on their suits and we can post a pic of our spunky men??
Puggie
Sounds good to me, Kylz. Also like the idea of the last pre-wedding meet being over Harmonie's way!
blahblah

Hi girls,

Seeing as you all shared your invites yesterday with each other..thought I would pop up a link to what I have done.

What do you think? I still have a few changes to make in regards to wording and maybe the ribbon.

kylz4
Your invite looks great Jess. I couldn't really make out the wording though as it was a bit small. Thanks for sharing....if you can make out next meet up you can bring them along for us to see for real biggrin.gif

So far for the Willamstown meet up we have

Kylie
Puggie
Harmonie
xbuffyx (maybe)
mimo
me me!! I'm coming to Williamstown!
Don't forget about me tongue.gif
Puggie
Is OK CM - we know you'll be there biggrin.gif I don't mind driving this one if you want to do next (or visa versa).
kylz4
Excellent, we now have

Kylz
Puggie
Harmonie
xbuffyx (maybe)
Cheeky Monkey

Any other Melbourne girls up for meet up number 2????

I'm going to book a table (probably 1-2 weeks prior) at Groove Lounge which is a cafe style restaurant. Good range of dishes and average/cheap prices.
Puggie
Sounds good to me!
Puggie
Oh - that reminds me - can one of you ladies PM me the details of the hen's venue we were discussing when we met up?
blahblah
That sounds great Kylz.. hoping I can make it smile.gif
So Puggie/Cheeky if for some reason I can't make my way over there..(ahh gotta love H2b tongue.gif) is it ok to catch a lift with you girls. I can def get a lift to where ever you are leaving from. Kinda feel bad because I don't even know you girls.

Hmm speaking of Hens night, what is everyone doing?? I have no idea ....

Had my flower appointment last night, and decided on all the flowers we are having. Post a pic later if you want to see smile.gif

I also bought glass candle votives from Dusk for table decorations yesterday, they are so pretty and I got 25% off because I bought so many. But the idiot that Iam didnt even think about the fact that they are rose scented. I planned on having them all lit throughout the reception.... hmm don't think thats going to work unless I don't want people to breathe lol what am I going to do.
I have 3 burning now..just to see how powerful the scent is.

Where are all the other non melbournites?? Candy how are the exams going?

Well I'm off to go get some more paper for my invites...and then I have a dentist appointment yukko!
Domestic Dreamer
No idea with hen's night, my only requirement is that we go to Perugino, it's an italian restaurant with an 8 course gourmet menu. Sorta like a tasting menu. Yummo!

I think a whole room full of rose scented might be a bit much. Maybe have half rose and half plain? Sell the rest on the trading post or on ebay.
kylz4
I'll count you in xbuffyx! How exciting ohmy.gif)

I'd love to see a pic of your flowers...i'm still working on mine - i know i want all roses but just need to work out colours. Think i'm nearly there with it.

As for all your rose scented votives.....do you think they'd let you swap some of them over for plain ones???

I have a few ideas for my hens night. My original idea was to go somewhere for dinner first followed by pole dancing (or maybe other way round so we weren't all swinging around the poles with full bellies!!!)......my friend is doing this for her hens night on 23rd sept so i might see if i like it before deciding definately. If not that then the other options are dinner and show at a latin place with dancing there afterwards (that's the place puggie wanted info on) or dinner and comedy show or something. I'm not into clubbing scene at all and am not interested in strippers.

blahblah
Maiko - that 8 course dinner sounds yummo!!

Candles - these particular ones didn't come in a non-scent. I haven't decided on favors yet, so maybe I can use them for that for the girls and figure something else out for the boys.
I only bought them yesterday so I figure they could probably refund me. My MIL will be here shortly so will see what she thinks.

Hens Night - yeh my MOH suggested Dinner & Pole dancing too... that latin place sounds good. Yeah I'm not into nightclubs anymore (Been there done that) and strippers don't do anything for me.
I would love to do a day spa kind of thing then dinner... but that can get expensive and I know some people who I would invite wouldn't be able to afford it. So was just thinking of doing the day spa with just my MOH.
kylz4
Yeah i wanted to do the dayspa thing too but my friends wouldn't be able to afford it either. My MOH may not be able to make it to my wedding as she is getting married the month before and may not be back from honeymoon in time so i rang her yesterday and suggested that the week leading up to my wedding we'll go to one (there's one out mornington peninsula with hot springs that i just found) and spend the day together being pampered!!!! MMMMMMMM how nice!
Puggie
Hi buffy -
I don't mind volunteering to do the driving for the next one in which case you're most welcome to catch a lift. Cheeky and I are likely to car pool anyway, and it's silly for 3 cars to make the trip one could (and I'm sure your HTB would not want to hang around waiting OR drive back home and then back to pick you up).

QUOTE(xbuffyx @ Jun 27 2006, 01:51 PM) *

Well I'm off to go get some more paper for my invites...and then I have a dentist appointment yukko!

Careful with the dentist comments - I'm marrying a dentist AND he works in your suburb sometimes ohmy.gif Lucky I know he wasn't working there today, otherwise my HTB might have had his fingers in your mouth unsure.gif LOL!
blahblah
Kylz - Is that the one called Peninsula Hot Springs?? I actually have a voucher for a "mid-week bathe in the pools" that h2b got given too him at work at some function they were having. That place looks beautiful! They even have accomodation packages. Pefect for a night away with your MOH.

Puggie - LOL. I have a lovely man named Barry. I would have felt awkward with your H2b's fingers in my mouth LOL tongue.gif
I'm happy to say NO fillings! Just a bit of scrape and cleaning. Last time I went I had to get 7 fillings!!
Thankyou so much for your offer on driving!
kylz4
xbuffyx - yeah it is the Peninsula Hot springs. It looks absolutely gorgeous. Don't know if i will be able to afford to stay the night, will have to see how much money i have closer to it! Lucky you to have a voucher for it!!!! I will be planning on getting a few pamper things done on honeymoon so probably will only get about 2 things done before the wedding.
Puggie
Morning ladies!

Well I think I have convinced HTB to establish the registry with me this weekend... After weeks of saying he's got nothing to add to it, last night he decided he wants a few cookbooks on there (so I told him he'd better go on with it and decide with me then!!)

Am thinking if I go to DJs at The Glen (our closest anyway, I think) then I might be able to get him into the suit place there too tongue.gif
kylz4
Weel done! Sometimes they need a kick up the butt to convince about things don't they! Hehe. You'd think they would have learned by now that they should just do as we say as we are always right LOL

Good idea to try and do suits at the same time. Speaking of which i better ring pete and tell him to organise a day off for next week so we can go and do that too!
Candy
Sorry I have been MIA girls...

Thanks for your exams thoughts and well wishes! wub.gif

I can't write much now. I'm on holidays at the moment in my home town. So I will have 4 weeks to do wedding stuff and will need your advice girls now more than ever! Am off to a hairdressing appointment now (just regular foils and trim) but I might schedule a hair trial while I'm home. I am freaking out how close everything getting...

ANYWAY I really have to go...but will report back later tonight if I get the chance. I haven't had a good chance to read what you girls have been up to, but hope everything is going well!

Sounds like your meet was fabulous! smile.gif

See you soon beauties.

mwaaaaaaaah.
marissa
FINALLY some wedding breakthroughs! Andrew and i finally got to see some suits and he tried on some, and we're down to two - one i relly like (and after the girls in the shop saw my dress they agree with me on the style), but andrew likes a different style... so we'll have to come to some sort of compromise. I guess taking the gm will help with the style because it has to suit them too.

We also went and had another chat with the person making my ring, and thats getting made soon, so i will soon have some more things to cross off my "to do" list.

I've been thinking lately about my hens night, and i want to combine my kitchen tea with my hens for all the travelling aunties and grandmother, and i've thought up two different ideas for the day:

1) a bus trip to the factory outlet stores in sydney, then home for dinner then clubbing

2) an afternoon lunch for the kitchen tea, then a "Host a Murder" party at night, then out for drinks and dancing.

My cousin (MOH) is organising this, so shes looking into prices for both ideas. I really like the murder party though, as it can include everyone, of all ages, and there's no alcohol served throughout the duration of the party, so thats good for the under 18's too. Also includes (if you go to a restaurant for it) a 3 course meal.

Anyway, i'm off. My cat is bugging me for food tongue.gif
Puggie
Congrats! Sounds like you've sorted out a few things!
seedyem1978
Hi gals - it's been ages since my last post - work was frantic last week

No more wedding planning to share - I think we've reached a point where most things are done, and just have to wait until closer to the date to re-call photographer/florist etc again. And to have alterations to my dress.

I'm tormented by trying to work out how to bustle my dress - it's similar to that in my signature, with layers on a mermaid shape. And I think the layered train will make it difficult to bustle. Any ideas?

I hope you're all doing well :-)
Puggie
Back again lovelies!

Firstly - I won't say WHO (in case they'd rather we didn't know) but I AM in a position to reveal that 2 of our November Twins have birthdays in the next 2 days! So - for the birthday girls HAPPY BIRTHDAYS!

Seedyem! Glad to see you back around. You might note the next Melb/Nov get together is in Williamstown? Perhaps you'll be able to make this one?

In terms of your dress, is there a way you can 'hook' the back up so the ruffles are 'straight'? Almost 'folding' the fabric under so it doesn't really bustle as much as the in between bit disappears? Hard to say without knowing the fabric.

I am going to ask my dressmaker to alter mine by putting a tiny loop for mine to hook up under my butt (imagine the very top of your thighs before your actual backside - that kind area) where it should hang nicely without making my arse look ANY bigger.

Good news - looks like I am off for my first makeup trial on Friday! Will be at Mum's then too, so should be able to post pics of the wedding I went to a few days back and my hair trial smile.gif
seedyem1978
Hi Puggie - thanks for the advice about my bustle. I think you're on the right track.

I must confess my birthday was Thursday last week!

Your plans all sound great.

My mum is coming to visit in August and I was hoping for a chance to have a hair trial then but my hairdresser is away for a month. Ah well - never mind!
Harmonie
Hello Ladies!

Candyandalan - Congrats to you - I am so glad your exams are over!! Great to see your back! You must have a VERY busy month ahead! Good luck organising everything - Do let us know how everything is working out smile.gif

Marissa - Wow thats sound like heaps of fun! I have ALWAYS wanted to to/attend a murder party! Thats fantastic! When are you looking at having you Hens night? I was thinking last Saturday in Octobar???

SeedyEm - Your dress is gorgeous! Puggie had the right idea!!! But if your arse starts to look big Blame the dress~ and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

I would love to know who else - but whoever you are! HAPPY BIRTHDAY and i wish you all the very best!

Thanks Kylie for the PM I am going to get onto that ASAP! I spoke with one BM last night (the one organising my hair/makeup and I have asked for their contact details! And they have said they want to do a trial 4-6 weeks before the wedding.... I want either Jessica Simpson hair or the chick who married Jason preistly! Heres one pic!

IPB Image

So off to do the suits this weekend! Hmmmm not long now!!!

Have a great day smile.gif

Wow the pic is HUGE! Sorry!
Puggie
Wow! So that makes 3 Nov girls born in June. How weird is that?!
blahblah

I'm a Junie too! tongue.gif Was the 12th actually.

Harmonie I Love that hairstyle.
Puggie
FOUR JUNIES! Weird!
Candy
Well let me just stuff everything up and say I'm an April baby laugh.gif
But, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL THE JUNE BABIES! smile.gif

Thanks Harmonie! smile.gif I am really glad they are over!
I've been home four days and is all I have done is catch up with family and friends. Oh but I did go make a payment my final payment on the bridesmaid dresses. Now if my last bridesmaid could do the same we'll all be happy laugh.gif

xx

I've decided while I'm home I must simply go have a dress fitting and I guess a hair trial. So INSPIRE ME GIRLS laugh.gif
That hairstyle is lovely Harmonie! I like! smile.gif

j***
Hey girls smile.gif Hope everyone has been doing well smile.gif

A big **Happy Birthday** to all June and April girls smile.gif

Harmonie - that hairstyle is gorgeous!

Puggie - I noticed your thread on the Hibiscus flowers. I think they are fabulous biggrin.gif I just ordered them last week for my wedding (two wedding jars) and an extra jar for me and H2B to try before the wedding. Are you going to order some?

I'm finally getting back into all the wedding planning now - just over 4 months to go - OMG!!! I have been engaged for over a year now and boy has time flown by! I’m sure the next 4 times will fly by even faster!!

I just ordered my flowers last week so I'm sooo glad I have that done now. A big tick for me biggrin.gif I'm having a cascading style bouquet with phalaenopsis orchids, some leaves and vines. My bridesmaids are also having them, but in a posy style.

Just bought my earrings last week and I loooove them!!! I’m picking up my shoes this Sat too - now that’s exciting!!! Hehe!!! I’m getting them made since I found it so hard to find a nice pair that wasn’t going to cost me over $1000 for some designer brand.

Btw, great to hear that the Mel girls had a good time at your recent get together smile.gif
kylz4
Welcome back pinky_babbee!!!! Glad to hear your wedding planning is on a roll again biggrin.gif

Harmonie, i love that hairstyle - i have that saved in my file too - i'm trying for something like that (nice soft curls). you'll have to put up some pics when you have your trial......you too puggie!!!!! Can't wait to see them.

Happy birthday to all the recent b'day girls! Hope you all got spoilt. Mine is in August and i've already bought my pressie - Robbie williams concert tickets - WOOHOO! What's strange to think though is that i'll be going to his concert as a MRS! Can't believe it's almost here.

Let me know how you go with the jeweller Harmonie.

Pete and i were supposed to be going to myer tomorrow night to start our gift registry but he got home tonight and said one of the boys from his work is leaving and they are going out for drinks tomorrow after work, so that's that off for another week or so! Need to get him to take a day off sometime to organise suits and passports too.
kylz4
Hey girls,

I was thinking, we should do our own little show and tell of our dresses and any other bits we wanna show off in our twinnies thread! I would love to see what all you guys are gonna be wearing on your big day biggrin.gif

I'll start off with a few of mine.

This is my gorgeous dress! (in my sig but this might show it a bit bigger)

Kylz - Bugger about not getting to go to Myers tomorrow to do the registry.
Lucky you on getting Robbie tickets, I could have gotten guaranteed seats but couldn't justify spending $180, I dont love him that much! Now if it were Bon JOvi..thats a different story!!

Your dress is gorgeous ... I will have to come back later and upload some of my pics ...

I think we *might* be going suit shopping tomorrow..trying to think of a few stores to go too. We wont be able to purchase them yet as we have to wait till a weekend where his brother is free as he lives in Phillip Island. So we are just going to check out some stores and hopefully find something so there is no stuffing around when his brother is up and we can go straight to that store.

Maiko - I noticed your thread on the chopsticks. Good to see you finally got them ... did you change your mind about them or did you order more than you need??

My little boy has been sick this week so have done absolutely nothing in regards to wedding plans. I have so much to do still and feeling a little bit overwhelmed.

Hope everyone is well

Jess
kylz4
Good luck with your suit shopping xbuffyx - you'll have to let us know how you go.

Where is everybody???? Off being non i-do addicts like i should be i guess hehe biggrin.gif

Hope you all have a great weekend. I'm off to help my g/f set up her gift registry now.....might get some ideas for our one while i'm there me thinks biggrin.gif
mimo
Hello hello smile.gif
I've been in my own world lately - birthday and all. My Mum is visiting from Sydney, so spending time with her is causing to be less of an I-do addict! tongue.gif
Haven't done anything weddingy lately... will have to wait till next week after Mum and her little doggy go back, so I can start on all the little things that need to be organised yet.

I have to meet with my florist soon, I had decided on Oriental Lillies and Tulips, but I don't think Tulips are in season in November? Hmm.. Maybe roses?

I'm having a few friends over tonight, so I better get stuck in to my curry making.. Hope everyone else is well. smile.gif

Speak soon
Andie
xx
Puggie - thank you for the card - you are beautiful smile.gif
Puggie
Hiya lovely! Glad the card arrived! Guess what - I AM MAKING CURRY TONIGHT TOO! I am afraid I've been hassling the woman at the shop you introduced us to (she's lovely. I think her hubby was a bit pissed with her writing down her recipes - until he realised that we needed ALL the herbs and spices so bought them from him). Will let you know how the experiment goes!

I went to Mum's place last ngiht for my birthday, but back home first thing this morning. Now cleaning up the kitchen and generally trying to get as much renovation done as possible over the next couple of days.

Bridal makeup trial went well (although the pics were taken inside at night, so don't really do it justice). I have hair pics to show you all, too (but I am having trouble downloading them on this system, so it might have to wait till Monday before you get to enjoy).

That's it from me...
kylz4
Happy birthday girls!!!!! I hope you both got spoilt!!!

Cheeky Monkey, enjoy your mum's company (and her doggy's) all weddingy stuff can definately wait till she's gone back home biggrin.gif

Puggie, i can't wait to see your make up trial photos!!! I'm glad you were happy with it!! One more thing off the list biggrin.gif

Enjoy your curries ladies, i'm not sure what i'm having tonight yet????
Puggie
Curry was GOOD! I am the curry GODDESS! Okay - well maybe I should rephrase that. I CAN FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS WELL tongue.gif LOL!

Been out in the main forums and have found all these new November girls. Weird - we're all popping out of the woodwork now! Anyways, since I can't show the makeup just now, I'll describe it. VERY natural with a slightly darker the lip colour lipstick (but still lip colour if that makes sense?!?!) with a gloss on it. Eyes natural, complexion natural, a bit of blush. I don't wear makeup at all, so this made me look a LOT different tongue.gif

HTB has promised we're going registry shopping tomorrow. YEAH! SO EXCITED!
Happily Married
Hi fellow lovely november brides!!!

Havnt been in this part of the forum before, thanks to puggie... she showed my the way!!

Our wedding is november 18th
We have just moved to melbourne, but are having our wedding at home (Newcastle)

THERE IS STILL SO MUCH TO BE DONE!!! all the major things are booked and organised but its all the little things add up to a huge amount!

anyway dont know what else to say except.. HI :-)

Domestic Dreamer
Hey there ladies smile.gif

I got a new job! Start in 2 weeks, doing reception/secretary work for a sound engineering firm. Can't wait to get out of pathology.

I've been in a lull with wedding stuff. I reckon once August comes along it will be full steam ahead again. Yes, the chopsticks finally came but I ordered 60 pairs when I thought we were having about 50 people, and now it's closer to 70 so I haven't got enough for everyone and didn't really want to do 2 different bomboniere. I've decided on tins of chinese tea (like noodlesue had in her wedding). It works out to less than $1 each so I'm happy!

Flowers are on hold until Sept when I find out if I'm likely to have cherry blossoms. Hard to say right now cuz Perth weather is sooooo unpredictable. If it's a cold spring I'll be set.

Happy Bday to those that had them! smile.gif
