It's gorgeous Puggie! smile.gif Thank you!!
Puggie
biggrin.gif Just logged in to tell you all about my day wedding planning and saw all our sigs. YEAH! We now have our own sig!! Glad you all liked it! wub.gif

OK - now for important wedding planning business:

1.) ORDERED MY DRESS! Went in and got measured, and all is set for a Sept. delivery (quite possibly earlier if they have my size in the country already)

2.) Found my wedding car! Was going to have a Mark 5 Jag, but ended up going with a Mercedes 300 convertible (site here - under convertibles, 2nd from the bottom) http://www.tripler.com.au/

3.) Went to the Park Hyatt to check out the suite for me to get ready in. It has stunning cathedral views (not where I am getting married, but still GREAT for photos) and it was very luxurious. Should be for close to $1k a night (EEK!)

Anyway - am glad us twinnies have a sig - this twinnie has 'pulled finger out' (so to speak) in terms of organisation!

Glad to hear about your flowers, seedyem!
Puggie
P.S. I thought I might do a general 'Nov 2006' PMing to all those who have posted here in the past and let them know we're an 'active' thread (and invite them to use our sig if they'd like). What do you think?
Domestic Dreamer
Sounds good. Today was a no-wedding zone. H2B is sick of me talking abt weddings constantly and me getting stressed out abt it so today I decided not to talk about weddings at all, we'd both stay away from the computer and use the time to get some things done around the house and spend the time together. Worked well, I'm glad we did it smile.gif
Puggie
We all need that sometimes! My HTB is pretty glad to leave my Mum and I to sort this out, and thus avoid any 'wedding' talk beyond the necessary!

Mum and I have often locked horns in the past - HTB is delighted to see we are really enjoying this time together to organise my wedding (kinda necessary since she's paying....).

I am a BIG dag I know - but I have never felt my Mum to be so interested in me/what I am doing. It's now NICE to include her (not an obligation)!

Puggie, I love the sig! I logged on during the day at work and saw it and uploaded it right away. Just didn't get the chance to say thanks until now - so thanks hun! It's great that u ordered your dress (it's so exciting isn't it biggrin.gif) And the car u picked - wow! Very nice!!!
Puggie
Thanks, pinky_babbee, I kinda think it's nice there's a few of us going through similar things at similar times IYKWIM?

Glad you like the sig!

Puggie
San Francisco and Mexico here smile.gif
j***
I'm heading off to France & Italy biggrin.gif (it's gonna be a bit cold, but H2B and I are still keen to go). Malaysia, San Francisco and Mexico sound like lovely honeymoon destinations biggrin.gif

I have planned so far:

Reception
Church + Decorations
Photographer
Videographer
Tea Ceremonies
Cars
Band
Dress
Bridesmaid Dresses
Shoes
Hair & Make-up
Flights for honeymoon (still need to book accommodation)

I so need to get my flowers organised soon - have been procrastinating lately so haven't been doing much. I'm trying to gather my stuff for the invites, but when I went to order my paper flowers - they had sold out sad.gif I have been hunting around for them everywhere, but haven't been able to find them yet.
tigz
Thank you so much for the signature Puggie! I love the design and appreciate the time you put in to make it for us November lassies, big thank you!!!!

We went to a travel agent on the weekend and the great news is we should be able to get the flights we want for our honeymoon. So hurray for RTW tickets....we're going to visit Europe & North America...our last hurrah before kids & mortgages!

Does anyone here rely purely on credit card travel insurance? Any experiences or comments would be welcome. From what I can see, it seems to be fairly comprehensive.

Not sure what that involves? We bought travel insurance for our honeymoon just in case. From memory it was only a couple of hundred dollars - worth every cent if you get sick in the US (IMHO).

Glad to see so many of us with our Nov. Twinnies sig - since I ordered the dress, car and wedding night room yesterday I'm starting to get REALLY excited!
seedyem1978
Great to hear your planning is all going well.

I just got an e-mail to say our invitations are ready! They're being made in NZ, and we'll print the insert with the wedding details on ourselves.

I'll need to start thinking about what else will go in - recommendations for accomodation etc.
Puggie
Ooohh! How exciting! Can't wait to see a sample smile.gif
rylie
Hello girlies!

Thanks for the sig Puggie, looks great!

Sorry I have not posted an update in so long, I have to admit I have been very slack on the wedding front and do not have any excuses!

Things I have organised area:
Celebrant
Ceremony
Reception
Dress - have first fitting on the 24th June!!!
Photographer
cake
hair & make up

Things I really need to do... really need to pull my finger out!
Flowers - have appointment this sat.
Guys Suits
BM dresses
Band for Reception
Honeymoon
Rings
Invites -DIY
Cars

We wanted to go to Thailand for the honeymoon but are a bit tight on the cash front so we are looking into Bali at the moment maybe staying a Lombok.

I am really struggling with BM dresses. I really want to find something that they can wear again so thinking boutique more so than a specialist bm shop. But at the moment all their winter dresses are in so will have to wait till August/Sept.

With the GM suits, H2B's brother is supposed to have a contact in London who can do Armani suits for us. I keep pestering H2b to ring and see what the go is but he is yet to do it! Tonight will hopefully be the night!

Also if anyone has been to a wedding who had a great band or are having a band I would love to hear about it! We only have a small space so maybe only a 2/3 peice and we are in Sydney.

Am struggling with cars as well. Wanted to get something a little different, H2B loves Kombi's so was trying to find someone who hires them out with no luck, so back to the drawing board!

All the best gals... will come in here more regularly... promise!

Kylie
Shanina_bobina
Honeymoon - 5 days in Thailand, 18 day tour of France, Italy, Czech Rep. etc, 3 weeks in UK then 10 days at Chamonix ski resort in France.

No more updates from me at the moment, ordered BM dresses and invite materials yesterday - will start making them by the end of next week.

Thats about it!
Puggie
Glad to see you back in here and chatting, Kylie smile.gif

yet to organise the groomsmen, the rings but we have a fair idea, finalising the cake, we have no idea about the honeymoon - but this is partly my fault cause i'm currently looking for another job & can't plan anything yet.

Can't think of anything else at the moment but i'm sure there is more!

blahblah
Hi Girls,

Great job on the November sig puggie!!! ....and thankyou for the pm, it reminded me to get my butt into here .. I've only ever posted once or twice in here, so don't know any of you tongue.gif

You are all SO organised, and I have barely done anything...but I work well under pressure.

For the past few weeks I have been too busy as I was organising my sons 1st birthday party...so now that is over I can concentrate on the wedding plans.

However I did order my wedding dress last weekend, which was pretty exciting and a huge relief now that it is out of the way. Next weekend we are going to look for bridesmaid dresses and hope to find something straight away and finalised so I can start organising/deciding on other things that 'revolve' around the colour of the bridedmaids dress.

I started the thread but its OUR Nov Gals thread wub.gif

Are there ANY Sydney Nov Gals..?? unsure.gif
Puggie
Of course! But as the founder, I reckon you need to take the initiative tongue.gif

Us Melb gals are gonna meet up (even if it's just Cheeky Monkey and I, given we're practically neighbours!!). Common Sydney gals (and Melb gals too) - lets do a few meet ups and share ideas, dreams, fears, wines and giggles!
mimo
I'm up for the wine bit! *glug glug*

Should be good fun - i'm looking forward to it! smile.gif
Puggie
biggrin.gif Best thing is, Cheeky Monkey, we are staggering distance to each other's houses (maybe we should have first meeting at your place - we're downhill from there tongue.gif)
Shanina_bobina
sad.gif I can't come either - I am in Canberra..... but I will be there in spirit!!

WEll, FMIL came round for dinner last night, with her she brought a sample of our cake from the cake maker - chocolate and hazlenut mud.... mmmm....

And we also finalised the guest list and started to draft the running order for the day - was so much fun! Have got a rought draft together already, right down to what time the MC will put the OOS books on the cahirs and what songs we will have for prelude etc..!! We are getting down to the nitty gritty now girls!
Harmonie
Me Me Me

** Waving hand in the air**

I can drive anywhere~ Knox/chaddy/city all fine! And I am also free most weekends now for 6 weeks!

I cannot believe that you guys live so close!

Yeah so what date???? Lets throw up a date??? 24th June????

I am flexible!

Sorry to all who do not live in Melb sad.gif Millie_belle I lived in Gowrie for a few years - Where do you live up there?? Maybe we went to primary school together or something!

Well I think this thread is really taking off and I love hearing where everyone is at!
Puggie
Hmmm - well I'll have to consult with Cheeky Monkey whether an 'unsignatured' Nov gal is eligible for the meeting tongue.gif (kidding)

24th in the morning is OK with me - in the afternoon I am off to the ballet. Alternatively Sunday 25th is fine for me too! What about you Cheeky Monkey?
mimo
Haha! Puggie.. yes we can start at my house!!! Yaay!!! I'll kick H2b and FSIl out! Both Days are fine with me, and since it's my birthday on the 28th - i'll drink extra!!! smile.gif smile.gif

Puggie
Hmm - OK - time for the other Melb gals here to MAKE THEMSELVES KNOWN!

Cheeky Monkey - maybe we should meet up at a restaurant nearby? Might be a bit less weird IYKWIM? We could do Formosa House (walking distance to both our houses) or somewhere else (where can you recommend? We don't know too many restaurants out this way....) That way we can end up at your place for drinkies tongue.gif
mimo

There's plenty in Blackburn and Doncaster, so yeah I'm not fussed. I'm fussy about seafood - thats it!

Absolutely smile.gif

I've never been to Formosa House - we could go there. There's also a nice Chinese Place just around the corner from me - Lucky Yu I think it is called?
Puggie
Sounds good. OK other Melbourne gals wanting to me up, speak up!

So far we have:

-Puggie
-Cheeky Monkey
-Harmonie
seedyem1978
Cheeky Monkey - it's my birthday on the 22nd! He he

I won't be able to come - we're very busy looking for a new house and with weekends blocked in. But I'll be there in spirit.

I met with a florist today - he was great and I'm pretty sure we'll book in with him. I was really pleased that he seemed to get the kind of look I want, and had a lovely idea too - I want to use an antique purse I bought, and he suggested that I walk down the aisle with no flowers, and that H2B give me a small posy when we meet in front of the altar. I think that's a beautiful idea! So I'll call to book him, then 4 weeks out we'll work out what's in season and looking good and confirm the details then! Yay!
