i must admit, seems everyone has there own mishaps in planning a wedding, mine was that the videoman we booked did a runner on us & we had to book another guy a few months ago.
& ofcourse everyone has a bridesmaid drama, mine decided to work overseas instead, then then girl i asked after her turned out to be a real biatch & i told her, she is no longer my bridesmaid! woo!

My MOH moved to Sydney! But at least she came back for a holiday once last month (that's why I had my hen's early) and she's coming back the week before the wedding so we'll have plenty of time. She's folding 100s of paper cranes for me.

i was lucky in the end, after the nasty bridesmaid experiance, i asked a girl i grew up with & she was so excited & the dress fitted perfertly!

I have my dress fitting this friday which i'm looking forward to, although scared it wont fit after all the winter foods i've consumed.

Also girls, what do you think is better for the bombonierre - rock candy with our names on it (for that personal touch), or choc hearts which all my family has had at recent weddings however they're cheaper!? I like the word "cheaper" for the chocolates, however i want something different at my wedding that no one else has done / had yet. Every wedding i've been to these last few years (and there's been about 10) have had chocolates, and dont get me wrong i love them, but my wedding is already so traditional, i need something different.

Geez was a bit stressed today, car decided to break down last week and have had it in mechanics for last 3 days, hoping it would be fixed asap as really need it at the moment! Got call from mechanic and he was telling me the cost of the repairs could be quite high, so was really worried as i dont really have that much extra cash floating around at the moment as it is almost all going towards the wedding, however with some luck he rang me back telling me it was not as bad as first thought, thankgod!!!!

And don’t worry too much about your dress, I’m sure it will come together perfectly in the end I’m still in the process of getting my dress made and it won’t be finished until the week of the wedding so I won’t need to get any alterations done. Maiko, I wouldn’t worry about the creases on the side of the bodice, that happens to most dresses I think. You can’t get it surfboard flat because of the curves in your body. I’m sure you will look super sexy anyway Btw, your booklet for the reception sounds so lovely

Hey Millie, I made the same assumption as you for our menus until I rang my reception co-ordinator last week. So my menus were a last minute addition, but luckily they didn’t take too long to make.

And Candy – welcome back missy!!! What a week it has been for your darl!! Boo hoo about your car, but aren’t your parents so sweet coming to the rescue like that! It’s a good piece of advice that your friend gave you about having to learn please ourselves, otherwise it just gets too hard when we want to please others all the time.

Carla, I swear the video industry is sooo dodgy! Here’s a few stories for you so you’re not alone: 1. My friend’s video guy did a runner on them 2 weeks before her wedding 2. My sister got married last December and just received her video this month and the worst one 3. We hired a video guy to film our engagement and we haven’t heard from him in months. We rang his dad and his dad told us that he was “on holidays”. And we just recently found out that he is actually….. wait for it…… IN JAIL!!!!!

Very nice Juless!!!! Love the frosting! The curls look very pretty. I would love to see a close up one of the front. My only suggestion personally would be from the photo of the front I did see, maybe a few pieces to soften around the face?? Then again..

oh yeah that whoops - i can be a bit slow sometimes!! aduuuhhhhh

that lil piece of bling isnt in my hair properly either so it looks a bit weird....and the weird thing is that i didnt want the slicked down look either so the front of my hair was actually pretty high up and boofy before she put the tiara on and i was afraid id look like a freak but i dont think u can really see that in the pic...it just sits nicely in the middle of the hair of boof if that makes sense??

& thank u for ur suggestions Candy, u got me thinking about things now - but yes dont u just love the way mothers work when they suggest things!!!

hmmm dress yes it would be nice if i had one that FIT!!!!!!!!!! i had pics of it but i got so annoyed the other day i deleted them all off the camera coz i was pissed at the dress place.....but im hoping to get some real ones at my next fitting (where everything will go great and my dress with fit like a glove!!) well here's hoping anyway

Marissa the ceremony is having your parents light your candle and your FH has his lit by his family then the two of you light one together. Symbolises that you too are now a family (will be hinting that to MIL ) Our priest asked if we would like it and my brother also had one when he married - Sounds good but I need to find out how they get the letters on the candle! You can buy them off e-bay otherwise - May ask my crafty cousin to help!

Dress fitting was great! I'm having a slimline lace dress and I love it! I haven't seen my dress in ages (my dressmaker wanted to make the dress closer to the wedding so no need for alterations) and I fell in love with it all over again The dress is all made now (silk satin) and next week - the lace will be added and I'll post some pics then - sorry girls coz i know u want pics!

I am so stressed at the moment, but not about the wedding! I want to get some things done at my house but i can't do them until i've finished helping mum and dad with their painting. I want to get some garden beds in and plant some plants out the back and next to our new fabulous deck so that when the boys are out there getting photos done there isn't a huge ugly pile of dirt in the background!!!!! I also want to clean my grout right back and seal it so it stays clean! gotta hand paint around each tile - time consuming Oh and i wanted to get at least one feature wall painted before hand too! AAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH

Wedding stuff is cool, all i have to do is confirm two more people for reception and then i can print up table lists and finish off the last 5 placecard/bonbon's and confirm my last reader for the church and print the last page of OOS and put them together. Then i think that's about it. The rest is just confirming everything YAY Oh and going on my lovely hens weekend in Rye


Oh well, only 1.5 bedrooms left to go at mum's!

Jules i love your hair trial, but i think you would be great with a side loose part, that's what im having, but not everyone likes that.

i have had a barry this week, 1st last sat i booked to see a flowerist preservation place at 11am, but thought it was 10am, lucky they could see me. then i forgot my shoes for my dress fitting, then i booked to see my videoman, thought it was thursday, but i actually booked wens.
lucky he could fit me in tonight too!
you don't realise how much stress you are under untill you make the stupidest of mistakes like above. funny isn't it?

i don't feel stressed like i thought i would with only 2 weeks to go, but these mistakes make me think otherwise.

arghhhhhhhhhh. Can we turn back the clock...by like ummm 2 months??? hehe with 2 weeks to go...I'm running out of time and completly stressing about it. I'm complaining that I have to do everything myself but then when it comes to anybody helping me, I say no, as I'm too much of a control freak...and I have to do it! lol

On a good note, I have my Hens night tomorow night. Can't wait!!! Going to have a smashing time..then once I have regained my stamina sometime Saturday...its full steam ahead and NO procrastinating over things....its a now or never situation!!!

I've been naughty and haven't popped in here for ages!!

Its getting so close for us now isn't it?! I can't believe our 2 year engagement is almost over - I was commenting to Damo this morning about how fast its gone by! Wow!

Anyway, update from me - I had my final dress fitting last night - all was perfect!! So she's now just going to add the hook for the bustle and then press it for me, and I pick it up on the 30th!

I've done my menus, placecards, seating plan (easy with 17 people - we did have 19, which was harder, but 2 had to cancel because of work and travel - they were coming from QLD).

All I have left to do is get my ring cleaned, pick up the dress in just over a week, finalise payments for the cake, photographer and celebrant, have the rehersal the day before, and have my final hair & makeup trial on the 28th (which is my hens night) YAY!!!

Hopefully everyone's plans are going well too! I can't wait until we're all back in here posting photos of our magical days!!

Yeah its Friday!!!! Tomorrow morning I am off to the city to look at possible photo locations... We are having the church and garden - but where else? hmmmm and the G8 thing is on so staying away from Crown! Maybe Docklands??? Any ideas???

There if a free G8 concert at the Myer Music bowl whoa I am sooooo lucky its Friday the 18th! Or else my guests would hear them!!!

Still deciding whether to book a room in the city I think I will now cause when I was younger working in a hotel I would see the Brides come back at the end of the night and I swear the entire hotel would come over and say congrats and make them feel special! I want that!!!

Tonight I am meeting up with my BM and we are working out the hens night! Yeah it will be great to all catch up! I keep thinking I have all these weekends to do stuff and really we dont!

I am finishing off second last room at mum's today and getting some sleepers delivered so that sunday i can get started on the garden! So next week will be one more room at mum's and gardening!

Wedding wise all else i have to do this weekend is put my OOS books together. Did one last night and i love it! Oh and chase up last person for rsvp - gosh some people are SLACK!!! I've tried calling a couple of times but no answer and he hasn't replied to sms either! I guess i can only try him till the deadline of having to know and if he doesn't respond he's not coming!

hmmm ok what do i have planned for the weekend i think ill write H2B off for all of it...h's got his bucks day/nite on tomorrow and he's off with the boys to the races and then into town and yeah who knows when ill see him again or in what kind of condition he'll be in....but i on the other hand will be on fire.....off to the dentist and then hairdresser for some colour and cut (seeing as i have fine hair kinda seems to stick to it like glue and settles down around the 2 week period so it should good good on the day) then shopping with my sis to pick up some stuff for the gifts that were putting together for our parents....gonna continue on with the placecards and may even get stuck into the seating arrangements - they gotta be done sooner or later so might as well get the pain over with as soon as i can.....ummm i think thats pretty much it

I know what you mean Carla re the brain strain starting to set in! I have packed my Mum & Dad off to the City thisa morning to give me some time to draft the seating plan. The venue wants a list of guests alphabetically by surname, and I have had to look up so many surnames! I know this stuff, it's just that my head's overflowing with information at the moment and I can't remember anything. I take my diary everywhere as it has my To Do list and contact details in it. I think ew might run into trouble down the track as our placecards have nicknames on them but the master seating plan needs to be proper names. Maybe I should note both on the seating plan for the venue. Poor wait staff will need to have their wits about them when showing guests to their seats!

Had my make-up trial last night so today I am still sporting fake lashes which I LOVE
The makeup lady says if I'm careful with them they may stay on for two weeks, and as I get married two weeks tomorrow they'll come off just in time to have new ones put on. Hair trial on Tuesday so I'll try to get some piccies of both to post.

Hiya! I'm at Mum's looking at the entree menu, now. Bought my 'wedding lingerie' (well the bottom bit anyway). Granny knickers with a heavy duty waist section which comes up to just under my bust. Not that sexy, but they DID bring my waist in several centimeters and eliminated several ugly bulges

Millie I think I posted a reply in your makeup thread but not sure. I had just a few lash extensions on the outer edges of each eye - I think you may have had them all the way across? Or maybe you just have long lashes to start with (lucky girl!). I'm looking for a 1950's Hollywood style feel so was v excited about the lashes. Louise was going to put 4 sets on each eye (about 3-4 lashes per set but set very close together) but ended up with 5 and I loved them, Mum loved them, Dad couldn't see the difference, and H2B liked them last night and even more this mornig when he can see them better with no other makeup.

No piccies yet I will try to post on Tuesday along with hair trial. Sorry not very helpful - I don't have a digital camera and my mother didn't bring her cable thingy from the UK! IMO they looked reasonably natural against my eye-makeup and even now they don't look particularly fake and I think someone who didn't know me well would just thinkg I was blessed with beautiful lashes.

Have you thought about trying just a few in the outer corners? I remember you're not big into makeup, and neither am I but I just feel so glamorous. You can also get glue which is for one wear only not the 2 week superglue I used!
