Wow - I've been reading through everything and I'm so impressed
Girls - stunning shoes, lovely makeup, beautiful dresses - and puggie: your meal tonight sounds just delicious!
I wouldn't know where to start on the update - our ceremony is almost all organised - readings selected, and order put together. We just need to chose an opening prayer, and write our vows.
We're having a Chuppah (traditional Jewish wedding canopy) as part of our ceremony, and close friends are designing and making that for us.
All invitations are out, and most RSVPs back! We had thought it might be around 140, but it's not looking like 110 - I'm not quite sure what happened to our counting abilities!
Bridal shower and bucks thing will be on the same day - garden party picnic for me, and go-cart racing and 10 pin bowling for the boys. Then we'll meet up together that night for dinner. It will be the Sunday before our wedding, as both the BM and MOH are coming over from London.
It's so lovely to hear what everyone is up to, even if I've not been taking part in the chats

As part of the Healthy Lifestyle program here at uni we're allowed to use up to 2 hrs a week of work time for exercise. I think I'll go do a class tomorrow. I did a pilates class once and although it felt like nothing at the time, the next day I was sore around the middle so it obviously did something.
Been climbing stairs in the library (6 floors) every day to wake me up after lunch. I get soo sleepy and headachey around 2:30pm so it's good to step out.
How are your rsvps coming along girls? I've received all but 6, which should be confirmed by this weekend. My due date is 1st Oct.

Sep 26 2006, 05:04 PM
My RSVP due date is 6 October..... and I'm still waiting on 25!!! And that not including the ones FMIL kindly told that they didn't need to send the printed RSVP card back. No, I didn't want people to return them as a keepsake, I just printed and cut them and addressed them for nothing
I better get plenty of replies in the post next week let me tell you..... will be very cranky if I have to chase people up!! AND, (almost end of rant) I am fed up with people asking me if they need to send the RSVP!!!! Why did they think we included them????? grrrrrrr rant over
MrsO
Sep 26 2006, 05:08 PM
My invite RSVP's are due October 1st and I have HEAPS not replied yet.

I don't have time to chase people up. I think alot of people just assume we know they're coming, we're not mind readers though!!
Maiko - that program your uni is running sounds excellent, I bet I still wouldn't have gone though.
Seedyem - I saw a wedding on this show on PayTV with a Chuppah. It looks so cool. I like cultural things like that being incorporated into ceremonies

I'm on this really good diet. It's called the 'we're spending all our money on the wedding so can't afford food' diet.
This is our diet too mazz78, great isn't??? Tonight is toasted ham, cheese & tomato sandwiches! I am pretty sure no one wants to come to ours for dinner!
Wow, this place has been busy in the last few days. Everyone's plans look great!
We are also going on 2 honeymoons. H2B's brother is shouting us 5 nights in Gaia retreat and spa in Byron as a wedding present then we will go to Thailand in Feb/march for our real honeymoon. I can't wait!
My to-do list is:
Centrepieces
Jewellery for me & bm's
wedding night lingerie
bon-bons
meet with celebrant one last time
1 more dress fitting
pay suppliers
meet with reception this Sunday - was taken over so we have to meet with him to discuss new menus etc..
table setting
finalise running times
presents for bridal party
Aaargh! One minute I think I am totally in control, the next I am freaking out!

i think ppl are assuming the same with us - that were gonna know that they're coming so why bother rsvping!!! oh i dont know maybe coz someone has to pay for ur meals u lil sods!!!!

Assignment done.
Thought I would post some pics of our wedding reception venue

The first is of the verandah, we are getting married on the verandah which overlooks the beach.

This is probably the best view from inside, looking out to the beach.

Last photo: close up shot of view from the verandah.
You can also see the lighthouse (not in this photo) and the cliff, which is what we are hoping will come up in our photos.

Oh! all you girls so organised!
I've been in here reading your posts but I've been too nervous to post!
Your Honeymoon destinations sound great! We are off to Malaysia - Sabah and Langakwi and also a couple of days in Singapore!
Mazz78 - your reception venue is stunning!!
Puggie - you dinner sounds great!!!! Can I please have the ice cream recipe! It sounds divine! And could you also send me OOS thingo - i'm kinda stuck with mine.
I was stressing about my wedding and then the beautiful kylz told me to write out a list and it turns out - I have a few things to do - not as much as i imagined. Phew!
I'm looking forward to our meet up in October girlies!

Morning girls....such a nice day out (shame I'll be spending most of it indoors at work)
Maiko - that looks so nice! You're very creative.
Juless - Hope you manage to call the reception venue today.
What are all of you up to today?
Hey some questions for you all - how much time are you having off work either in the lead up to, or post wedding? Also, are you having your hair and make up done in a salon on the morning of your wedding, are are you using a mobile hair/makeup business and having them come to your home?
Thanks
Lady CJ
Sep 27 2006, 09:22 AM
Hi girls,
I have the whole week before the wedding off work.
I have been able to plan most of the wedding at work & during work hours surfing the net etc!!! Im so cheeky. i did take prob 2 days off to do wedding stuff.
im having a mobile hairdresser come to my mum's house on the day of.
It was cheaper to go to the hairdresser, but i just prefer to be pampered at home!
Mazz, i love your venue, where is it at?
is it in sydney?
Shanina_bobina
Sep 27 2006, 09:23 AM
Mazz - I am having the week leading up to the wedding off then 8.5 weeks after that. Last day of work is 10 November - yay!
Re:makeup and hair, I am having them come to the resort I am staying at.
Your reception venue looks stunning!! Fantastic views.

Nope, my venue is in Wollongong (South Beach)

I am having a mobile hairdresser as well. I just don't know if I want the photographer to come and take photos while I am having all that done.
Millie - how did you manage to take such a long holiday! Your wedding reception place is VERY nice - what a gorgeous view.

Hey Mazz, my photographer is strange, he said he wants to be there when i get my hair & make up done, he said he loves that stuff!

oh the gong! beautiful hun, one of my bm's is from kiama & studies at the gong uni.
Puggie
Sep 27 2006, 09:35 AM
I'm taking the week before off (e.g. 17 November) and starting back at work on the 2 January.
In terms of hair - we are going to a salon and then having our makeup done back at home.
Candy
Sep 27 2006, 09:53 AM
Hi Girlies

I have my last exam on the 15th November so from then on until end of February I have off from uni

As for work, not entirely sure. I was thinking of taking from the 15th until middle of Jan. Not sure yet! But its just a casual job so I should technically be able to do whatever!

I am getting my hair done in a salon. I have booked a mobile makeup artist based on her doing my makeup at my friends wedding. However I have since found another lady (also mobile) who I fell in love with personality wise so think I am going to have a trial with her and see if shes any good. Either way, it'll probably be a mobile makeup artist who will either come to the salon or to wherever I am getting ready.
Maiko...seatign chart

I haven't though that far ahead yet..sshhh

But nice monogram all the same!

BTW..try not to be tooooo interesting here and write lots of pages because I have to start my pedagogical documentation assignment!!!

Your distracting me!

Morning girls

Mazz - OMG your venue looks sooo nice - I'm jealous of the views that you have!
Maiko - Very nice monogram indeed

That's really cool how you incorporated the chinese character - I like!
I'm taking 3 days prior to the wedding and then 3 weeks after the wedding for the honeymoon. I think I'll be pretty organised leading up to the wedding so those 3 days will be spent on manicures, pedicures, facials, etc.
Also, my make-up artist and my hair stylist will be coming to my house. It's much easier for me that way coz we have to start at 4am in the morning

Millie - your venue looks stunning too!
MrsO
Sep 27 2006, 10:12 AM
Candy - I was just thinking, I am so glad I found this website towards the end of my studies. I would never gave gotten any work done this year otherwise.
Pinky - wow 4am! That's rough...you'll probably be awake from the excitement

Puggie - that's a nice long break from work!
Carla - Kiama is gorgeous. I did my undergrad at the Gong Uni

I think it's typical for the photographer to come in when you're getting ready, I just don't know if I want him to. Will think about it.

Quick stupid question girls...
I have a few invites that were sent to me by my mum for me to send off..
anyway...just about to pop out and send them... is it just a normal 50 cent stamp? Or should I put $1's worth on?

Its just like a card...so I would think 50 cent right?
Lady CJ
Sep 27 2006, 10:41 AM
Yeh just 50c hun.
but i found my invititions to post them cost $1 each! because they are a square shape. how stupid?!

Hairdresser is coming to my mum's house, I'm doing my own makeup. At the moment it's looking like a 7:30am start or earlier since the hairdresser wants to be done in time to open his salon at 9:30am.
I'm taking 2 weeks off, 1 week before and 1 week after.
5 weeks and 2 days til I go on leave...

I already know

I am so please with my invites - in January the 'rose' stamps were available and I bought HEAPS - I wanted even the stamps to look pretty!
Beats one I got the other day for a wedding - it had Dame Edna on it
MrsO
Sep 27 2006, 11:14 AM

@ Dame Edna stamps.
I might look up the rest of the addresses I need on whitepages. I am getting
no work done today

I am answering the phone very politely though.
I am in a photo posting mood. Will go and find some.
Candy
Sep 27 2006, 11:25 AM
I had my parents mail out all the invites, so who knows what stamps they have on them!

I don't really care though...because if my guests are anything like me..they throw the envelope away and put the invite on their fridge..or in a file..or on the coffee table..or lose it altogether

The stamps I just put on my invites were Rock Poster Stamps

I know one of my friends in particular will love it.
So now I am debating...clean kitchen...or start portfolio...or work out what I'm gonna have for lunch and get ready for Phil...
How I will miss the uni student life when I leave it..*sigh* MINUS the dreaded assignments! hmph!

This is one of my fave photos of FH and our baby boy (the youngest). Don't they look alike?

(Taken a while ago when baby was only 2 months old)
Candy
Sep 27 2006, 11:55 AM
I won't put the photos in here incase they are massive...
But these are photos of my hair trial. We basically decided the style on the day after playing around with my hair for a while..so it was all feral and frizzy as I have normally curly hair..
So on the actual day of my wedding, it won't be as frizzy nor will it be the colours it is here. As my hair normally has more product it in, it doesn't look at blonde usually (I think). So I think for my wedding day I want a bit more depth to it so it doesn't all look one colour...chunky foils rather than me just looking blonde.
Okay..now that I've explain that..let me know what you think of the overall style..AND PLEASE NOTE..I don't normally have such a stupid look on my face but my mum had no idea how to work the camera and was just GRRGRRR!

So...
this is me normally...
ME and hair trial..
HERE and
HERE and
HERE and..........
HERE too.
Just to mention..I am having a tiara also, but didn't have it with me here. I think there are a couple of jewelled pins in my hair but you can't really see them...so there will be a small lil tiara on my head in there somewhere too..
So..opinions...do u think it will be alright on the day with those few changes I mentioned..
I'm thinking of having another trial. Just to get a better idea of how it will look on the day..
x
awe Mazz. How gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes they do look alike!!!

How old is your baby boy now??

Your curls are so much crisper than mine will be because of your curly hair, lucky thing (I have dead straight hair). You look gorgeous, your hair style suits you alot.

Sep 27 2006, 12:09 PM
wow candy ur curls are beautiful!!! so full of bounce and sutff....i think ur hair trial looks great and i agree with adding some foils or whateva to give some depth to ur hair and not have it look all the same colour - i think itll look pretty hot - but i might be being biased here coz im going back to hairdresser to get my foils done again too before the wedding....but yes all in all i think it looks great! very pretty indeed.....
ok now time to answer some previous questions - its been another busy day in here today - ok both H2B and i are having the week before the wedding off and then another 4 weeks after it off so all up a nice 5 week break from work and i tell ya i cant wait get away from this place its been driving me insane lately!!!!!!!!!
im also having a mobile wedding hairdresser coming to mum & dad's place on the morning of the wedding - its easier this way as weve got a stack of ppl who want their hair done on the day so the hairdresser lady is coming over with a few of her girls to get everynoe done and im not entirely sure what time they're coming but last time i spoke to her it was gonna be an early morning!! makeup is being done by my brother girlfriend who's a makeup artist so that worked out well!
Millie - ur venue looks beautiful!! the views looks awesome - u must be very happy with what u guys have chosen....
hmmm ok i think thats about it for me - havent called the reception place yet but i have put a reminder in my calender about it for later this afternoon - i wonder if ill actually get around to it tho!!!

Sep 27 2006, 12:27 PM
Candy your hair trial looks awesome - so romantic! I love it!
The reason why I get alomost 10 weeks off is that I get 4 weeks of leave a year and any that I don't use gets carried over. Have been working for the Governmnet for 5 years and have never taken the full quota - so its all leave with full pay (which is lucky, considering how exy Europe will be!)
PS Mazz I can't see your piccy....

What's for lunch? I just had miso soup with rice and tuna. Just chucked everything in the soup. Healthier than the burger I had yesterday.
Oh, and I had bugs and butterflies stamps

I absolutely adore them. It's an old series from a number of years ago and I bought a roll of 100 even though I don't usually send letters. They're certainly coming in handy now. Keeps with the natural theme.. blossoms, bugs, butterflies

Hair looks great Candy, you certainly do have very bouncy curls. No chance of them falling out like I'm worried mine will.

Maiko - 10 courses?!

I hope none of your guests are wearing anything tight.
Princess Lissy- when are you off to America? (month)

And Candy, you look absolutely stunning in your hair trial! I also love that pic of you now

Your curls are so nice and they have that bounce in them

I think you should have another trial with everything on so you know exactly how you want it. I'm going to have another hair trial to get it just right so I don't freak out

As for our bridal dance, we're having dance lessons right now and we're doing a RUMBA

We have a live band at our reception and they will be singing our bridal song which I'm exciting about

Now we just have to get the dancing right
