kylieandpeter
HI my lovely tweenies

Well i had a productive weekend besides moving my FMIL (H2B and FSIL hubby hired a truck and it only took one load - so much easier!!) and catching up with my FSIL and her hubby whom i havnt seen in ages, we orrganised the guys suits, finished the invites (all ready to post today!!!!) and got more progress with the BM dresses (long story will fill you in when i know the outcome myself)! Uh and i just got of the phone form the florisrty school of Australia & have booked an appointment to go in and see them to discuss wedding flowers in 2 weeks.

Bubblez - will find out the brand this weekend (going to have it done again for e'ment shoot). CONGRADS on getting your 1st uni preferance that is unreal smile.gif. BM dresses - i would ring and speak to the mamager and find out what the go is.

Jaface - congrads on your niece. Will go now and have a lok at your invites

Meagan - I think we allhave days like that - where everything just gets the better of us and u take it out on the ones you love. Big (((HUGS)))) to you and i hope you are feeling a bit better today

Emmy - Can't wait to c your invites. Cool your BM sending out a save the date for your hens weekend smile.gif
kylieandpeter
Ok i am having a major stress atm and need to get it out so here goes.

I have to find a new type of BM dresses. The ones i orginally choose, the manafucter has decided to change the ribbon colour to a lighter one and in my opinion it is 2 light for the dress and washes the colour out. SO i don't want it anymore.
Here is my delima though. - I have to find something THIS week because
1. My MOH is going to NZ for 21 days at the start of next month
2. My FSIL (BM) is up from Sydney untill Monday (she hasn't been up since April and is not up again until the hens weekend in March)

And i don't want to just settle for just any dress IYKWIM

SO today i am of to every bridal/formal shop i can think have to have a looksy myself (can go through them quicker than taking someone with me) and make a short list of the ones i like. Than take my MOH & FSIL on saturday and try and choose one.

Why is wedding planning never easy????????????
lillie206
Hi All,

I am a new member to i-do but am getting married on the 8th April in Brisbane!! A big thank-u to another lovely member that suggested I come down to this section and take a look!

I cant believe it is so close now..as with all of you I have done alot but why does it feel like there is still so much to do...or is it that i just put off the things that I really dont want to do cool.gif
kylieandpeter
ok - just emailed my MOH at work and explained what was going on with the dress and asked her if she could come down on saturday. The lovely thing she is decided she was feeling ill and had to go home. She rang me on the way to her car and will be here in an hour to come with me today. Bless her - gutta love best friends smile.gif

Lillie - welcome to our thread babes.Great to have another 8 APril bride - there are so many of us now. Just goes to show what a fantastic day it is smile.gif SO where are you, where are you getting married? WHat have u got organised so far? What do u still ahve left to do?
patricia
Welcome lillie biggrin.gif
all the questions that kylie asked go diddo for me, its exciting when you find that there is more lovely ladies out there that are sharing this momentos fantastic day.
I agree with you about the never ending list of things to do, we will all get through it and if any help just try to handle ball all the little yet big things to anyone you can, i've succeded in giving H2B the job of making the bomboneires i did 2 of them and that was enough for me i can't stand tieing things let alone ribbon.

Kylie - i hope it all works out with the dresses, have you thought about looking around to find the colour ribbon you like and still getting the same dress? fingers are crossed.

Jaface - how are your nieces going? bet their cute as.

Bubblez - well done on getting your pref for uni, great news. biggrin.gif

Well i spoke to my grandmother and have found out that she is on a plane coming to Australia on the 31st of Jan, so she will be able to be at the wedding, so i have now allocsated her the number 1 seat of the house Table one seat one (apparently that has the best view of the bridal table) i kicked my mum out of it but she is all happy because she has her mother there.
I have set a date for the hens night also March 25th, can't wait the only thing is i have to loose the reins on it and hand it over to my sister but i hate not having control cos who knows better than me what i want?.......NO-ONE, im too fussy and i change my mind all the time, but i told her the rules 1) cocktail party 2)plenty of drinks 3) no stripper 4) plenty of drinks.

Well i best be carrying on with the reception and photography paper work i have to mail out to them.
Have a lovely day ladies smile.gif

Hi Ladies

Welcome Lillie.

Kylie good luck with dress shopping, i still have to find mine, next weekend hopefully.

Well on the weekend i made up as much of the invites as i could, just have to print the top sheet now, and I made up the wishing well cards. Will take pictures of the demo this weekend, and hopefully a picture of my dress next weekend.

No major news at the moment, except we got news on sunday that H2B's cousin had a major car accident on sunday and is in critical condition. And if she survives she'll be in hospital for 8-9 months and that will mean that H2B's favourite uncle wont be able to come to the wedding. But atl east she is still alive, she has broken arms & legs, her pelvis is in 3 places, internal bleeding (was in theatre all day sunday) and minor head injuries.

Patricia are you going to port douglas for your honeymoon?

Emmy & Patricia my BM's havent even mentioned anything about a hens party to me unsure.gif Hopefully they are going to have one for me and patricia your's sounds like exactly what i want

Am going for a walk tonight ate too many peanut m&m's last night.

mmmmm m&m's

Any way enjoy the rest of the day!
lillie206

So excited about being here biggrin.gif
moore
Hi Lillie, I'm glad you came to join us here, it's great to have you.

Meagan - I am yelling at my fiance and family too. I'm not the type of person to stress, but I guess when you get so absorbed with one thing, everything else fails in comparison. I am being a perfectionist with the wedding and I'm finding that the littlest things that aren't the way I want them (dishes not done by the time I get home) are driving me and everyone around me completely nuts! I have to realise that everyone else actually has a life and my wedding is not the only thing in the world that matters. So I feel your pain, but I think it might actually be quite normal. At least you know you're doing it, that means you can change it. If it is still worrying you, PM me and I'll swap stories with you hun.

Kylie - is it possible to replace the ribbon on the dress? Is it around the middle or is it more throught the dress and unable to be swapped? And what style are you after? At least it's the bridesmaids dress and not yours! There are tonnes of very similar dresses out there, between us all we will find you one. And I'm glad the move went well. And it's good it all happened so quickly too.

sjm - I hope all goes well for your H2B's cousin, I'm so sorry, that must be an awful thing for you all, but stay strong together and you'll all pull through. If she is in a coma, remember she will hear every word you tell her. I don't want to bore you with stories, but my mum was in a deep coma before she died and she came out of it just long enough to let us know she heard everything and she really appreciated the happy and normal conversations. All my very best to you all in this hard time.

Patricia - fantastic news about grandma! That's really wonderful, and very special. Enjoy your time with her here for your big day.

My news this week - invitations are nearly all finished, they should be mailed this week. I booked my hair and makeup trials for Sunday 5th Feb. Chairs and music are hired for the ceremony (thanks to my wonderful Matty). And we found a wonderful florist who is a friend of a friend of the best man, so we are seeing her a few weeks before the wedding to arrange all that stuff. I have begun to look after my nails so they will be in tip top form for the day. Does everyone realise its just over 10 weeks??! Sorry to bring that up, but it frightened the bejesus out of me today.

And non-reltaed exciting news, my friend who found out she was pregnant, after 6 months of trying, recently found out that it's twins! Yay for her! And my friend from school, born the day after me, is newly engaged. Yay for her too! Happy days.
kylieandpeter
Patricia - u lucky girl getting H2B to tie ribbon - mine wouldn't have the patience. He puts his finger on the knot whilst i am tying the bow but thats the extent of his bow tying (mind u i am very fussy though). Thats fantastic news about your grandma coming over - bet u are so happy.

SJM - I am so sorry to hear about H2B's cousin. My wishes and postivie thoughts go out to all of you. I agree with moore that if she is ina coma - remeber they do hear everything that is going on. (((HUGS)) to you

Lille - WHat colour is your dress?? Can u describe it to us??

Moore - COngrads to your friend that is pregnant - and expecting twins. Thats wonderful smile.gif COngards also to you newly enagaged friend - be sure to tell her about this site. HAs she set a date yet??

BM dresses - i thought about getting the ribbon changed. however there is to much of it on the dress (one at top of bodice, one around waist and 3 lines around the bottom). However MOH and i were cahtting and it obviously wasn't ment to be. ALso i could tell she wasn;t to comfortbale in the dress (said she would wear it but YKWIM) and i want her to be comfortable. Had a look around yesterday and there is 3 optionms we can go with. Will keep u all updated.

Hens w'end - i am having trouble handong over the reins aswell but my mummy bear (is more likeone of my est friends than my mum) and my MOH know me very well and what i want and dont want so i will have to trust them. However i am doing the invites (long story)
Bubblez
Hiya biggrin.gif

Thankyou all for the congratulations about Uni biggrin.gif I'm still really excited and not as nervous now. To top it all off I got a call earlier this week and was offered a scholarship (ohmy.gif <---- My face during the phone call) it's a great deal and it was out of the blue (I had applied but you were supposed to hear back in writing on the 20/1 and I had nominated a different course first but changed my mind when I found out it wasn't what I thought it would be, so I had basically put the scholarship from my mind).

Kylie - That is such a good idea getting in contact with the floristry school, I hope they can do what you want for a great price. What a pain about the dresses, I hope you and your MOH found something the other day (what a great friend she is biggrin.gif)

Lillie - Welcome to the thread, fill us in on all your ideas I luv hearing what everyone has planned.

Patricia - Great to hear your grandmother is coming over (from Spain? if I'm wrong sorry I have a shocking memory) it's a lovely idea putting her at the head of the honour table. laugh.gif I like the sound of your hen's night be sure to have a drink for us all (On second thoughts that's going to get you totally sloshed tongue.gif). Woah you have a great H2B to be doing the bombonniere, my H2B has verbal input but I'll be the one assembling them all laugh.gif

sjm - I hope your H2B's cousin is on the mend.

Moore - Woohoo on the invites. But whatever you do don't say 10 weeks again blink.gif it's not enough time eek I need more time. Congratualtions to both your friends what great news for them both.

Oh just remembered I stuffed all my invites sad.gif I sealed the envelopes before putting in the accomodation sheets so I had to buy all new ones and have to readdress them all before they can be sent off. I feel like such an idiot. Have chosen the cars though and will be booking them on the weekend, we are hiring silver Alfa's instead of the Audi's the price difference between the two $225 so it's a bit of a saving (especially as we hadn't budgeted for cars)

Last note I swear I am developing a double chin mad.gif all the skin is going loose and H2B laughs when I tell him I need exercise to target my neck. Any ideas? Do those contour wraps work? (Yes I sound like a nutty B2B lol)

TTYL wub.gif
Emmy
Hi Girls!

Gosh how time is flying...hard to believe its just over 2 months away!

Kylie - reading your posts about your dress proves that the dress wasn't meant to be...and I'm jealous that you have a BM that gets "sick" so easily! I struggle to get my two in the one place at the same time, let along having one help pick out the new dress!

Lillie - I think I saw you in the newbies thread...welcome to the 8th April twins thread! How are all your plans coming along? And yes it seems the to-do list never ends!

sjm - Best wishes for your H2B's cousin...its not good news, but as everyone has said, she would know that everyone is around her ....

moore - congrats to your friends! esp twins...that is so cool (I really want twins one day myself!)

bubbles - neck exercises?...I have NO idea! LOL...tho remember hearing something about opening your mouth, then tilting your head back and closing your mouth....whether it works or not..i have no clue!

patricia - my hens is on the 11th March....I know the plans for the hens day/night (drinks, poledancing wub.gif , dinner and cocktails)...my surprise will be the next day when my BMs are doing something for me...no idea what tho! Mine had similiar instructions as yours....no "henny" stuff....don't want to do the veil, toys, stripper thing....just want to have some laughs and a couple of drinks (i.e. not so many that i end up ill and cant remember the night!).

We're in the midst of writing on our registry cards to put in with the invites...this weekedn i have to hand my engagement ring over to the jeweller for a whole week while it gets resized...*sob*...its good it will fit me properly (i rarely wear it on the proper finger as it now almost falls off me!) but am going to miss wearing it!

Does anyone else now find it hard to concentrate on work knowing that its so close? I find myself sitting in meetngs thinking I have so much other stuff that I could do boing....*chuckles*

Anyway...take care

Em
lillie206
Its just getting closer and closer!!

Emmy - tell me about it..i just cant seem to get the time to even tie the bridesmaids down together...i think that they will have to end up wearing shorts and a tee laugh.gif lol

Bubbles: i was told that great neck exercises are to lift your chin slightly and mouth the the "ooo" "ahh" words..but vigourously..."shrugs" im not sure if it works??

Moore - WOW twins, the lady that works for me has them and she swears that it is sooo exhausting, but adores them!

Patricia - I think that is a great idea about your grandma!

Kylie - the dress is a secret at the mo! its ivory tho..

sjm - i have been doing the walking thing...feeling guilty that im eating bad stuff and not working it off!

Well ladies...I am really looking forward to it now..despite the fact that I still have SOOOO much to do. Have a meeting with the reception co-ordinator tomorrow and hope to tie up some serious loose ends...ohhh like the menu!! AGHHRRRHHH!!! and the flowers, decorations!! *breathe*

where are you guys having your ceremony? We are having ours at St Marys on the river...

Have a great Australia Day!! smile.gif
sjm
Hope everyone had a nice relaxing day yesterday. i did, sat by the lake all day and didnt even get sunburnt. (very proud of myself) biggrin.gif

Went to view th reception with FPIL and Mark yesterday. We wanted a cocktail reception but they want a sit down, so we now have to discuss this. i want it over and done with so i can get the invites out. dry.gif

Sit down means more table decs and that i have to do place cards, which means more money.

Marks cousin is under sedation, and we still have a chance of losing her over the next couple of days. Thanks for the well wishes girls. They live in townsville so his uncle and their family really have no one but themselves. so at the moment its just phone calls with updates, the doctors have been researching with other doctors on how to fix her pelvis. But hopefully all goes well.

Am going BM dress shopping next weekend, so hopefully we can find something.

Oooh i cant wait for it all to come around.
kylieandpeter
Morning my lovely Tweenies smile.gif

Bubblez - CONGRADS on your scolarship. WAHOO that is wonderful news!!! The cars u have choosen sound lovely and reminded me that i need to call the car guy. Oh no about your invites. But atleast u remembered before u had sent them all out.

Emmy - yes i also find it very hard to concrentrate on other things.

Lillie - I am having my reception at a community hall. GOod luck with the reception co-ordinator and u will have to let us know what u choose for the menu!

Yes my MOH was a darl becoming "sick" so easily but it was the only way i could catch up with her before she goes to NZ for 21 days next month!! SO was a blessing really.

I found a couple of BM dresses and am taking my FSIL today to try them on and then i will take my sis when she gets back from hol's next week and will let u know how i get on.

Well ladies i best get going my FSIL just turned up.

Hop u all have a great w'end
patricia
Evening ladies,

Sjm im sorry to hear about your H2B's cousin i wish you all the best. our honeymoon is in port douglas so i can't wait for that i've never been to queensland or the great barrier reef so im looking forward to that. we'e are you looking at going?

Lillie i love the colours you are using, chocolate is one of my favourite colours i would of used that but for some odd reason i picked pink and silver (i don't like pink unless its hot pink and you can wear it)

Moore huge congrats on both of your friends news, twins i wish i would of had twins for my first pregnancy that means i wouldn't be going back for another (we just want two kids, that means 1 down 1 to go)

Kylie i hope it all works out with the dresses, there's still time even though sometimes it feels like there isn't - goodluck

bubblez don't feel like an idiot i made sealed addressed and posted all my invites and then relised that i like the brain that i am forgot to put the Melways map ref and the map of the uni in the envelopes and i also didn't give anyone stamped self addressed envelopes. i know have to print a sign saying Jurado/Sherlock wedding turn left at the first round-about once you enter Deakin Uni thank god that once you turn left its only a matter of following the road till you see the chapel and lake and the car park is right near it.

Emmy i feel that way too but the danger for me when i start work tomorrow (today was my last day of holidays but i just have 6 weeks and then our term 1 is over and i have another 5 weeks off leading up to the wedding and honeymoon) is that a poor kid could drown while im off in lala wedding land so i've decided that im going to really try to put the wedding preparation on hold for a few weeks while i get my barings on my new responisbilites at work.

Well i actually ahve no new wedding news apart from i have scored a new hairdresser for the wedding and she will be coming to my house on both the trial and wedding day to do it, she is my FSIL hairdresser and she has won awards for hair-up comps, fashion comps and even bridal do comps but she'll only be doing my hair because she has another wedding on that day but im thinking of doing a nice basic all out hair do for them and we can straighten the hair of curl it ourselfs i'll post a pic of the do i like for the bridesmaids. Well i best be off and finish my lesson plans for tomorrows classes.
patricia
This is what im looking at having for the bridesmaid it would match the dress that they are wearing

Morning Tweenies - hope u all had a wonderful weekend smile.gif

Patricia - Hope ur first day abck at work went ok. COngrads on the new hairdresser - she sounds wonderful. The hairstyle u have choosen for the BM looks great smile.gif

Well Pete and I had our e'ment photo shoot yesterday (yes i know better late than never). It went really really well! I am so happy we choose this photographer - she made us feel so relaxed and got us smiling heaps. We get the photos in about 2 weeks so i will try and post a couple up for you (she took 140+ so will be hard to choose our fav's)

BM dresses - took my FSIL on Friday and we tried on the 3 styles i was thinking of and i have a fav out of them all. I will take my sis (3rd BM) to try on this week and go from there. AM relived that headache is nearly over.
moore
Just want to let you all know that I got my wedding jewellery the other night. It was very out of the blue. I went to the shops to do my banking and walked past a store that I always walk past, but this day something made me stop and say I'm going to go in there.

They had tonnes of crappy looking jewellery and lots of expensive stuff and I was just about to walk out when the lady said "are you looking for something in particular?" When I told her it was for my wedding she got so excited and told me a bride came in that morning and bought earrings and she wanted to show me the pair, but she only had them in green or purple. So she showed me those and they were GORGEOUS and too perfect. So I got a bit jealous that I couldn't have them and then she remembered there were a pair out the back. So I held them and the search was over. I also bought the matching bracelet. Pretty pricey at $300 for the lot, but well worth it.

It's funny how things work out when you least expect them to. So that's one more thing to cross off the list biggrin.gif

Patricia - that photo is gorgeous, good work. And that's awesome about the hairdresser too. I've got the same deal with mine. She won all these awards and stuff too.

Kylie - how exciting! I'm so glad the photo shoot went well, it sounds like fun. And now you'll be so much more comfortable in front of the camera on the day. We still haven't had ours yet, we are leaving it til just before the wedding. And good news about the BM dresses. Congrats!
newie 011
Hey ladies

You all sound so busy!

Patricia I love the bridesmaids hair - I like the classic plain styles and it looks pretty!

Lisa - great work on getting the invites done. I have just finished mine and posted them this morning - I am soooo happy with them and so excited! Also great work on getting the jewellery that is fantastic. My friend has a jewellery shop so she will make mine but I cant remember my dress so I have to wait until it comes in!

Kylie - wow the photo shoot sounds great, I hope that the pics work out lovely!

We had a busy wedding weekend, finished the invites, booked and paid for cake, booked fairy lights, went to the gardens to check the setup for the ceremony so it was all really good - I am getting soooooo excited.

And I have my kitchen tea this Saturday yipeee!

Kylie biggrin.gif

kylieandpeter
I forgot to add earlier - I got my first RSVP on friday in the mail smile.gif smile.gif Did a happy dance at the mail box. GOt another one again today - is all feeling uh so real now smile.gif

Moore - congrads on getting ur jewelry - what colour did u get??

Kylieann - COngrads on sending invites out. Is such a wonderful feeling isn't it.

I just booked in 2 c a company on Friday for a quote for them to decorate the hall (bridal backdrop, chair covers, table clothers etc etc) and arranged with teh council to get the key to go and have a free viewing of the hall!
patricia
Have any of you started to have dreams about the wedding? I unfortuantly have and its funny because they started when i decided to take a break from all the wedding prep's last night was funny i can't remember it all but i remember that while i was getting ready i kept saying over and over the things i couldn't forget to take like the flowers and veil and all the rest and then im standing at the door ready to enter when i relise i forgot my blooming veil...What the? i think thats when i must of quickly woken up and fell asleep again because i went blank and the next thing my daughter is in my bed and its 7am. so im back on the wedding preps so i don't have anymore dreams. at least it was a minor and funny dream.
I also just got a call from the hairdresser i wanted and she has confirmed that she will be doing my hair she needed to speak to the other bride on that day and the bride said she didn't have a problem having Megan do my hair aswell on that day, apparently Megan doesn't do two brides on the same day which i understand but im happy she will for me. I know just have to cancel the other hairdresser and avoid my hairdresser (who was originally doing my hair). well part from that i have no news on the wedding but on a personal note my first day as a swimming teacher went well so im rapped no drowning kids on monday lets hope today has similiar results laugh.gif well i hope everyone has a good day today.
kylieandpeter
Yes my wedding dreams started about 2 months ago. I average about one a week. They range from things that i forgot on the day (funnily enough, happened also when i took a break from planning planning) to what a wonderful day it is (when i think all my planning is on track). Both are enough to wake me but i easily and soon fall back to sleep.

Patricia - YAY getting the hairdresser u wanted smile.gif Glad 2 here ur 1st day back at work went well

Well no wedding news for me besides i designed and am happy with my hens weekend invites so will print u this week.
When Pete got home from work yesterday and saw i was reasearching wedding stuff and had been on the phone organsing suppliers he turned to me and said "what are u gunna do after the wedding bubba - u will have nothing left to plan. U will be fine when the kids come along but really what are u gunna do with your time"
Later on he said he appricated all the work i was doing and know it was well worth it.
Was sweet of him to realise how much time i am actaully putting in and fantatsic to hear his praises and apprication smile.gif

Hello Ladies

How is everyone!!!!

Patricia- we want to go to port d for our honeymoon but are unsure as yet, am trying to get mark to hurry up as its only 9 weeks away (Lisa pointed that out to me the other day and totally scared the crap out of me)

Have been having dreams for ages, just about how perfect i want hte day (as we all do) nothing scary as yet!!

Am going BM dress shopping on Sat with 2 out of 3 BM's so hopefully will have something by the end of the day. If not they will all be hung with bright pink sheets and i'll use them as decorations for the ceremony. Have had so much trouble with 1 in particular (happens to be FSIL) normally we get along great but lately its been hell. She says how she wants our day to be perfect for us but then doesnt agree on any dresses, says she's too busy or says she'll do something then takes forever to do it. And thinks that she'll wreck our photos because she cant smile properly. sorry for the whinge but she has been getting to me lately. mad.gif

Booked fittings for my dress 1st one is 10th March am so excited about it. I love it. biggrin.gif

Will def take pictures for you ladies.

Havent got invites out yet (starting to stress unsure.gif ), but am still deciding on whether we have sit down or cocktail style. Me and mark are going to talk to them tomorrow night and say that we want cocktail, if they choose not to pay then so be it. dry.gif

I picked up the bm's jewellery today, i love them to will try take picture on weekend.

Here's my list of stuff left to do.

GM outfits- we know what we want tho
borrow the wishing well
musci- sent list to Lisa today (she's my fairy god mother tongue.gif )
see photographer- monday lunch time ( i work with him) cool.gif
bm dresses
menu
invites- print & send
honeymoon
marks present- have no idea blink.gif
cake- mum is organising
GM presents
pick up my wedding ring biggrin.gif
table decs- depends on sit down or cocktail dry.gif
organise people to do speeches
finalise flowers
get truck polished tongue.gif

If i've left anything of girls let me know please biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Mak doesnt want to do a speech as he is kinda shy, whereas i am sout going, so i thought i would do the speech on our behalf as i LOVE to TALK. and everyone there wont think its weird as they all know what i'm like.

Am having the day off tomorrow so that i can do some house work, the weekends have been taken up by wedding stuff so there has been no time for it. (thats my excuse anyway and i'm sticking to it tongue.gif )

Will let you all know how i go on sat. Have a great weeekend everyone

kylieandpeter
Hi lovely ladies smile.gif

SJM - don't apolagizing for letting us know what is going on with your BM (FSIL) - that is what we are here for afterall - better of getting it all out right?? GOod luck with the dress shopping on SAturday - i hope u find something u love - will be thinking of you. COOL about your first dress fitting. I wouldn't stress to much about the invites - everyone thats invited knows the date anyway right??? It will all work out fine. Your list looks great - have u written ur ceremony and are u having OSS books?

Kylie- HAve a wonderful Kitchen Tea this weekend - can't wait to hear all aboout it

Girls I am sorry but i have to have a winge about my younger sis whom is also a BM. I have my bridal shower tomorrow (very excited will let u all know how it goes) and she just calls me and says uh i dont know if i will be able to make it as i might have a phot shoot. After being blunt with her she said uh it will only take an hr and i will came after than. OK i approcate that she is trying to get her modelling carer going and if she gets this shoot, it will being a once in a lifetime thing.
I asked her if she could make it another day or time and tom is the only time everything else for the shoot fallls into place. She says she did tell the photogrpher about me and he said he will do his best to work around it (the other items for the shoot arn't upto him though).
She is calling me back tongiht after she knows for sure.
As u can gather at the start of the call i felt very upset but after we discussed it I understood a little better.

Great to hear from you Megs, you're going great guns!

Kylie - you're not wrong in being upset about your lil sis, a wedding is a very selfish time (and so it should be!) and I totally understand why you feel the way you do. It's funny how deep down you know she is only doing it because it means the world to her, but on the surface it feels like she is doing you wrong. But the most important thing is she is going to get it over and done with and then spend the rest of her time making you feel good on your special day. It just sucks that it all has to fall on the one day, but it's always the way isn't it?

sjm - how did you go with BM shopping? I hope it worked out ok. I know you are feeling stressed about that 1 BM now, but it's just such a hectic time in the lead up to the big day, you'll laugh about it in no time at all.

I FINISHED MY INVITES!!!! Thank goodness, I never thought I would get them done, but they are in the post and ready to be raed by our guests. Hallelujah!

Ou honeymoon is completely booked.

I bought my wedding jewellery.

I had my hair and makeup trials done - happy with the makeup but not with the hair, but neither was the hairdresser, so she wants to do another trial with me which is fantastic.

Here are some pics of both trials...

Hi i'm back

Well my weekend went so good its hard to believe.

I had friday off work and went and visited FPIL on holiday, told FMIL that we didnt want a sit down meal. She didnt like it much but at the same time she didnt say much. I went and sat on the lake with my feet in the water and let mark talk to both his parents about it. Anyway he changed his mind and now wants a sit down. Was annoyed with this a first as i cant imagine it the vision just doesnt come to me IYKWIM.

But anyway in the end i compromised (thats what i like to call it) as mark has compromised on heaps of things for me. So the day kinda end on a good note.

Saturday morning we went shopping for dresses and managed to get the one i wanted them to have. They tried it on and i asked if they were happy and comfortable they said yep. so we then went and had a look in another shop just to make sure. then went back to noni b (where we got the dresses from) and FSIL brought hers and i put my little sisters on lay-by.

Then went looking for shoes and FSIL brought hers (i absolutely LOVE them they're silver with little jewels, and they go magnifently with the dress)

On sunday i went to FPIL to make invites and labels for envelopes.

wheni got home i lost my ruler and couldnt find it any where, after an hour i got mark to come home and help look for it, he then went back to his parents and found it next to the computer (where i had already looked, mind you wink.gif )

then i put all of them together and was so happy and proud of myself, as i had done them all on my own. they look gorgeous. (will popst pics at lunch hopefully)

After all that i still managed to cook a delicious roast for dinner and invited FPIL down as well. and plus FMIL made a delicios pav for dessert. (i ended up having 2 pieces ph34r.gif )

Kyl& pete- how was your bridal shower? hope it was fantastic for you and that you sister made it. Our celebrant has written the ceremony and we both love it. and we arent having OOS books. getting married on the foreshore next to the lake.

Lisa- congrats on your invites too. (i'm waiting for our receptionist to go down the street and buy me some stamps so that they go in the mail this arvo)

Meagan- how short is your list? ohmy.gif

Think thats all for now.

Cheers
SJ

Lisa the makeup looks unreal smile.gif Actually is a very similar lok to what i am having. WHat style are u gunna go for with the hair now - do u have something else in mind?

Megan - GOod to hear from you. WOw u only have a few things left- well done!

SJ - Congrads on such a productive weekend. CAn't wait to see piccies of ur invite and also the BM dresses - what are they like???

Well i had a productive weekedn aswell. The Bridal shower was excellent - I had a wonderful time. Am about to type a post in the Pre Wedding Celebrations section about it. (my sis photo shoot was cancelled so she ended up coming for the whole time - was wonderful to have here there)
Pete and I also finished writting our ceremony yesterday! smile.gif YAY smile.gif. I am so happy i can tick that of the list. AM emailing it to the clebrant today for her to go over.
kylieandpeter
ARGH it feels like i am taking 2 steps foward & one backwards with the planning.
Pete & I just cancalled our honeymoon (after seeing accurant affair lastnight) and are lokoing at somewhere else to stay. WIll still be in the whitsundays

Just repiled to your other post, didnt realise you were going there.

kylieandpeter
Claire - welcome to our thread babes. SO where about in QLD are u tying the knot? What have u got planned so far??? DO u have a piccie of ur dress we could see??

SJM - Yeah excatly - atleast we did find out now and we only lost $60 cancelling our booking (admin fees) so thats good
Bubblez
I am BACK biggrin.gif

As usual I go away for a little while and when I come back I use heaps of space laugh.gif

Claire - Welcome biggrin.gif Let us know where your up to, I'm sure you don't have to much left to plan, deep breaths. It helps to make a list on here as you can see where everyone else is up to (also helpful as if your anything like me you realise the list is missing important bits and pieces). What a great idea to make it joint

Patricia - Glad to hear that the swimming lessons are going great. I love the hairstyle for the bridesmaids. I haven't had dreams but I am starting to stress about the ceremony I am so nervous when I think about it.

sjm - You are getting heaps done, your an organising machine so much done it such a little amount of time. I hope your not having to much trouble with your FSIL (atleast she picked some shoes)

Kylieann - Wow you got heaps done this weekend, do you have many things left to organise now?

Moore - Congratulations on getting your invitations out and getting your jewellery (any piccies, sorry I'm a total sticky beak with wedding stuff). I think your makeup is beautiful (it helps that your absolutely stunning) and I thought your hair looked nice. What was wrong with the style? The only things I can pick is that it seems to sit quite low and loose and some of the pins are visible.

Kylieandpeter - Thanks for the congrads biggrin.gif RSVP's are exciting (I got my first one last week). Sorry that your sister upset you I don't think your being selfish like you said it's a once in a lifetime event but she probably considers the photo shoot to be the same thing, I really hope she makes it to the bridal shower. What was on ACA? Sorry you had to cancel your honeymoon.

Meagan - How did your meeting with the celebrant go? You don't have much left to organise biggrin.gif

Well I have finally had some wedding progress. On the weekend finally organised H2B and the two groomsmen's outfits so they are totally sorted out. Was very impressed with H2B in his suit and even managed to make him blush I think. Also my dress arived early and I was so excited and best bit is IT'S TO BIG biggrin.gif
Everything was perfect on it until the girl said let's try some bracelets and managed to snag a thread on the bodice when taking the last one off sad.gif So now it's pulled and it's matte satin so it's fuzzed up it's not to noticable but I know it's there but don't want to look like a whingey bride but I'm not overly impressed.
I did pick up my gorgeous earrings and a garter along with a very comfy torselette.

Still no news on the bridesmaids dresses and the store continues to be rude and not return calls and give us a delievery date.

This weekend organising the cake. Hopefully rings and flowers next week. We finally get together with our celebrant in 2 weeks time (bit upset as I wanted to lodge the forms on Valentine's day sappy I know tongue.gif)

I still haven't booked hair and makeup I have a feeling I have left it to late.

So far I have had 4 RSVP's out of 50 invites, so many people (mainly family and friends) just assume we know they are coming. I have to say I am really annoyed and angry about one comment H2B got. He went to see his grandparents and said did you get your invites the reply was 'oh yes' so he said are you coming and get this 'oh well if nothing else comes up we'll be there' HOW RUDE. It's his Mum she's shitty as I won't drive 45 mins to see them on boxing day,I get car sick and have bad anxiety driving long distances which I explained and she told me she understood. Then she asks H2B why I wasn't there (our bub was actually sick this year so neither bub nor I went). Then tells H2B she doesn't see her grand child because she's not sure they are welcome. BULLSH!T. Nasty hurtful woman and she talking to the whole family as of yet no RSVP's from any of them (except H2B's brother but they live in Sydney probably to far for the gossip to spread). I just can't believe she is so childish.

Still uni starts soon and I am still excited, though not so much about the book prices. OOooh and we bought a new car it's excellent, I love my new car biggrin.gif definately glad to sell the old one after the clunking noises on the way home from the dress store (the diff was going not to mention overheating problems).

Well I think this is quite long enough, TTYL wub.gif
kylieandpeter
Welcome back Bubblez - have been wondering how u have been going smile.gif
Congrads on organising the guys suits! I would have said something about the dress - the way i see it is u are paying ALOT of money for this dress and u have the right to complain!
With the BM dresses have u gone back into the shop?
I think u still have time to book the hair & makeup in - i would do it soon thought so u can have trials done
R u sure H2B grandparents didn't say that as a joke?? I know certain family memebers of mine would say that but as a joke. I hope u sort the problem with your MIL out soon - sounds like she is being totally unreasonable

WEll girls i am off to book our new honeymoon in today!!! We have now decided to go to Long Island see Here if you wanna see our package deal.
Also i am taking my sis and mummy bear to the shops this arvo so my sis can tyry on the BM dress I am thinking of. If its a goer i will go and talk tot he lady that has offered to make them.

I just wanted to jump on here and quickly tell you all that I have started to get RSVPs back in the mail! Yay!

Welcome Claire, we are glad you can share your day with us. To post a picture go to the Geek speek section, there are tonnes of posts there about how to post a picture. If you have any dramas PM me and I will run you through it in detail. And that's great about your tiara, well done. We are not doing a coreographed dance, just going with the flow on that one. If I were you i would definately do the hotel thing. It's the only time you get to really spend a lot of money on yourself and a few hundred more for a romantic night in a hotel room is worth it. If you go home, you have to wake up and do chores around the house - escape it for just one day.

Kylie - Long Island looks gorgeous. I've heard loads of glowing reports from friends who have stayed there. You did the right thing in cancelling your other booking.

Bubblez - a new car!!! How exciting. And makeup and hair shouldn't be too hard to book at this stage. There are that many creative people out there in those fields, you're sure to find someone brilliant! And you are sounding very organised with everything else, well done.

Our celebrant came over on Tuesday night to help us write our introduction. She is going to email it to us when she has written it for us to look at and change if we need to.

I'm off to a wedding this weekend. I'll let you all know if there was anything fantastic or terrible, and what worked or didn't work. It's nice to see other people's ideas, I feel so consumed by our own wedding that it will be nice to see something fresh and different.

To give a quick update on what l've achieved to date and given there is only 2 months to go biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Dress - went shopping and couldn't find anything in my price range so l've got a designer/dress maker making me one. I need to supply the material so l'm off the Ballarat this weekend to buy that and then she will start on the making end of the month. To keep cost down l'm doing the beading myself so l've got a sample strip of the material and have been trialing the different types of beads and how they look.

Shoes/veil/little bag - has been lent to me by a friend so very good price tongue.gif

Make up - had a trial on Saturday and was very happy with it (will remember to email photos to myself at work so l can share them) had to go with a different lady to original plan and this one only works from home - wont come to house on day which is a bummer but managable.

Hair - I've been using this new hairdresser for last couple of cuts and have a trial tonight and have booked in for the day as well as Mon before to get highlights put in.

Invites - all done and posted, even had about 6 couples RSVP biggrin.gif

H2B's suit - he is still deciding if wants to buy or hire but did go into shop and came home with suit brochure so making progress.

Honeymoon - going to be a gift from FSIL and she asked if we would prefer to know or a surprise, we have opted for a surprise so discussed where we would liek to goa dn what type of holiday we hope to have - and now wait and see (very excited)

Celebrant - had meeting with her and filled in all paperwork, have selected wording for our ceremoney, just got to pick a reading and who we want to do it.

Caterer - need to catch up with him to confirm menu, but not urgent.

Helium balloons for centerpieces - have spoken to shop and tentativly booked them, need def number of tables.

No attendants so that's easy

Flowers - have spoken to florist and l need to make decission on exactly what l want?

Cake - Mum and l are making it, all three layers are baked and sitting at Mums ready for march 11th when we have a weekend of decorating - will be similar to this one exept we are having the middle layer square and others round.

H2B still to arrange accommodation wedding night (l'e given away all rooms at our house so that is not even an option tongue.gif ), music and his outfit.

We still need to arrange MC, chairs for ceremony and table with decorations for signing bit.

Oh there are lots of other bits to arrange but l've waffled on for way too long - well done for getting this far, if l had more regular updates it wouldn't be anywhere near this long - note to self to be better updater.
