See, I think QLD let NSW win last night, just so that the 3rd game will be more interesting

thats my theory and Im sticking to it.
Jo, Im in Yallambie, which is in North or East Melbourne? Not too sure. That dance your learning sounds great. I cant dance at all and have no rhythm,so Im a little worried I will look stupid

Kathy that dress is gorgeous!
Actually very similar to one of the dresses I'm trying to choose between. I'm sure Amanda will look stunning in it!
Michelle - we went to start dancing lessons one of the companies that were at the bridal expo (we 'won' some free private lessons and free groups). They were out in Wantirna and this wasn't really close enough for us. The other place we were thinking of going to was in Kew - they were also at the Bridal expo and seemed quite nice. Due to budget constraints we've put off lessons at the moment and will take it up again when we're back on our savings track...
Let me know if you find one closer to us that is good! I think it would be so fun. I used to do a lot of dancing (ages ago) and Alex really wants to get into it too...
P.S. Michelle - I agree, Qld let NSW win last night.
I'm going to try to find pictures of both dresses (or something similar) and find a way to post them up here... I can't find anything close to the satin dress though...keep lookin....

Well we went to the jeweller tonight to get quotes for my wedding band. He will let me know in a few days what to expect. Also he took my baby (my engagement ring) as one of the claws needs repairing. I will be without that for a week, my hand looks nakid
Saffire
Jun 17 2005, 09:58 AM
oh no Michelle!
No ring for a week?!
I can recommend a jeweller in the city if you need one in the future... He resized my ring within the hour and I could wait there whilst he did it. He came highly recommended by the Australian Gemnology person who valued my ring - he does the valuations for most of the major jewellers in the city, tiffanys etc.
He was also quite reasonably priced - it cost me $40 to resize the ring.
I too couldn't bare to be without my ring for a week so went and got it done by this jeweller

Tell us more about your wedding bands!

Nude fingers for a week!!!!! When this happened to me i baught a cheap dress ring so my fingers didnt feel so naked.

Jun 17 2005, 12:42 PM
Yeah it feels a bit odd with my baby missing, but I know its in good hands having surgery to make it nice and strong and healthy again
Not too sure what band Im going to get, we'll see how the quotes come back and how the budget is going. The jeweller reccomended a plain gold band, as it would be stronger etc, but he also said the band with 5 little princess cut diamonds layed out on the top (which I have my heart set on) would also compliment the engagement ring well. So I guess it all comes down to quotes. He also said that my eternity ring could be the one with diamonds in it, a few years down the track, so who knows... (I think neil freaked out to think that he has to buy me yet another ring lol)

LOL!!

I think this is how Jason is feeling as well Michelle. Poor boys, haven't they worked out yet that is just keeps on coming!!!
I went dress shopping with my BM who is getting married next month. She found and bought the whole lot - dress, veil, shoes, jewellery - everything!!! It's amazing what you can do when you have limited time. She has also asked me to make her invitations for her, so that's my job for tomorrow! I'll post a picture when I finish and you girls can give me your opinions.
Kathy, I can see the dress now! It's beautiful. Let us know how Amanda goes.
Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!!

I havent been on here for awhile. I only get time when the kids are asleep and i got caught up reading the other topics. I've just been trying out ways to decorate candles I'm going to put in my bonbonierre thingy. I've also been fiddling around with making my invites. I'm going to get caricatures of Ash (fiance) and me in wedding clothes to put on the front cover. It should look funny. I cant decide on a photographer or hair makeup person. Too many.

Hi FIona good to see you here. The invitation pictures sound great!!
Well I had a job interview on Saturday, it was only for a part time job, they pretty much told me I had it, they just wanted me to come in for a trial. Thing is I hated the place, there was only 1 doctor who worked there, no nurses there at all, only 14 hours per week, old and crappy place, I would be responsible for things that a nurse would normally be responsible for (which scares me cos if I stuff up I dont have the nurses union to stick up for me)
So I called them this morning and said I was offered a job elsewhere (a big fat lie) but I dont think I could stand working there. I know Im fussy but Im used to a big busy surgerys. I think I will hold off til I find another job..
Apart from feeling guilty over that, I had an ok weekend.
Notice our tickers have changed to 8 months and 3 weeks?

Hi Fiona, good to see you in here! Your plans sound like they are ticking along and I love the caricature idea. I've seen a couple of other people with something similar and they look great.
Kathy - has Amanda tried on the Melbourne dress yet?
Michelle - good idea to go with your gut. You don't want to get stuck in a job you hate. I'm sure you'll pick up something more suitable soon.
Nothing new for me. Jase just rang me to tell me he's taking me to dinner tonight to thank me for looking after him (he's been sick with the flu all week) and for all the work I've done organising the wedding. Aww, he's such a sweety.
Laurette, have you heard from Kate? How's her new job going? If you do, say hello to her from me.

Kathy- My kids are Jarrod 6 and Sarah nearly 2. They are in my wedding along with my neice Chloe 4 and Tanisha 10. I love kids. The more mistakes they make the more memorable it will be. Just about all the guests im inviting have kids to so they are all coming along.
Ellerson- I definetly think you did the right thing about the job. You have to be happy where you work. If you're not whats the point. Good luck job hunting.

Hi girls,
Jo,
Amanda goes to Mel on Wedensday and at 4.30pm she is trying the dress on so if I dont hear from her by 7pm with a full report and photos if she has baught it I will kick her butt.
Michelle,
I think you did the right thing not excepting that job no point in doing it if you are not happy and dont find it rewarding.
Fiona,
Lots of kids at weddings I love it all the weddings I have been to its what the kids have done that really stick in my mind.

For my first message in the forums I just wanted to say hi to all the other March 2006 brides! I have been engaged for five years and we set the date and booked the venue two years ago, but now it finally seems within reach. People are actually saying "Oh, it's getting close" instead of "Oh, it's still so far away"!
We still have so much to do but we have booked the venue, photographer and celebrant and we have bought my dress and the rings. Slowly but surely getting there!

Hi Adams bride,
Welcome to i-do looking forward to getting to know you and reading about your plans so far.
A few questions...
1.Where are you?
2.What date in march have you picked?
3.What colour scheme are you having?
Just a few as Im a real sticky beak when it comes to these things.
Michelle,
What are you doing for your birthday?
Kathyxx

Jun 21 2005, 03:32 PM
Not doing anything for my birthday

Im actually a bit upset , not because Im not doing anything, but I just feel a bit homesick, missing my mum and family, and missing my friends. I guess its just being stuck at home all day not having anyone to talk to thats making me go insane..Im just blaming my hormones for making me so girly and upset...
Im sure Neil will take me out to dinner or make dinner at home..he has already offered to make me a cake. I feel sorry for him that he is stuck with a girl who is emotionally unbalance 90% of the time...
Ok cry over...

Hi AdamsBride, Welcome to the forums - and to our March 2006 thread in particular. Look forward to hearing of your plans in the months ahead. Wow, it must be really exciting to have a date after 5 yrs!!
Michelle, when is your actual B'day? It must be hard being away from your family and friends with no job to distract you. Especially at this time of the year. I'm sure you'll have a lovely evening with Neil. (((BIG HUGS))) from all us here.
Jase has gone to Perth again for work

. He left today and will gone for 1-2 weeks.

Hopefully this will be the last time he needs to go there.

Hi everyone
Sorry that I have not been around so much of late. I have been so busy with work, and I have realised how fast the day does actually go when you do some work... it's amazingly quick when you're not surfing the forums all day!
Michelle, I hope that you have a fantastic birthday! I am sure that we will all make you feel a bit special and I am sure that you will enjoy your dinner, whether Neil cooks or takes you out. I vote for taking you out. (((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) I understand what you say about Neil worrying about you being an emotionally unbalanced woman – I am exactly the same a lot of the time. It’s so stupid. Glenn was just saying last night that he stresses about me getting upset, because I seem to so easily. Obviously he hasn’t worked out what week of the month it is yet. Der.
I am sorry to hear about that job that you had to turn down, though I understand definetly why you did it - I dont think that it would have been worth it. Keep pounding the footpaths and so on looking, and something will turn up. Have you thought about applying at other places other than doctor's offices? I am sure that you have, I'm just thinking aloud.
I havent heard from Kate - I sent her a couple of texts a while back, the week that she started the new job, but nothing back as of yet. I am sure that she will be busting to get back on here and check out where we are all up to. And no doubt we would have heard had the job not started well.
Welcome AdamsBride. It's great to have another Marchie on the forums. I hope that you are getting married on the 11th with me, as I am a bit out-numbered by the 25th and 18th girls! Please make sure that you give us all the details of your wedding that you have and keep us updated on any new things.
Jo, no doubt this will feel like the longest trip that Jase has ever been on, being his last. But once you have him home….. it’s FOREVER! Yeah! How was your dinner last night?
Fiona, that sounds so good about your kids and nieces being in the wedding. In some ways, I wish that we were having kids at our wedding, but unfortunately it’s not going to happen. The only kids that we will have there will be Glenn’s neice and nephew, who are flowergirl and pageboy. And there will also be a few who are over 15.
Well, the big thing that has been changing with me is the colour scheme. We have changed from black BM dresses to a latte/coffee/caramel colour. So now, our theme will be white, latte and dusty pink. I will post a pic of the dresses ASAP – I found them in a mag, the most recent of Cosmo Bride if you have it – and loved them, thankfully so did the girls. And – bargain basemet, they are only $129. Their hair and makeup will probably cost that much also! We found shoes that we liked in the same mag, but they were $500. Not gonna happen.
So now I am changing the invitation colours and everything, and I am really happy with it all. I love the dresses so much, and they are so suitable for the park wedding!
I love it!

I hope the 2 weeks go REALLY quick for you Jo. It sucks when they have to go away. No matter how often Neil goes away Im still not used to it. Lets just hope the weeks go fast!!
Laurette, your colour theme sounds fantastic. Cant wait for some pictures. You are so organised!!! I envy you!! And cheap (ish) too I bet your over the moon with them..

Hi girls,
Michelle,
That was just the start of it the scary stuff is if they are using the MMA product it is bad stuff.
Girls if you are thinking of having your nails done use a nail tech that has her certificates displayed and if not ask to see them. Also check to see what products she is using look for Creative,OPI,Ezflow or IBD they are the industries leaders and back their products and techs.
Another tip is to stay away from the big nail bars as you are a number in the line and the tech hasnt got the time to pay special attention to your nails.

Hi Everyone!
Sorry I've been offline this last week. I've been away on a conference and had dinner events each night. I'm sleep deprived and suffering from Internet-Withdrawal Syndrome!
Congratulations Kathy on Amanda's buying her dress! Sounds fantastic! Can we have pics? or at least a description???
Laurette - congrats on your BM dresses and colour theme! I feel so disorganised compared to you! The dresses sound fab - just off to check this month's cosmo bride to have a lookie....
Jo - hope Jase gets back to you soon. I was staying in a hotel in the city (yes Melbourne city) this week and didn't really like being on my own so asked Alex to come and stay with me. Had to lure him with Discovery Channel. I was hardly even in the room but at least I knew when I got back at some godforsaken hour in the morning, he was there

.
I'm off to Brisbane tomorrow night for the weekend. I've booked a hair and make up trial for Saturday. Hopefully it will work out because I can't really afford to keep going up there and hope that I can avoid going back til almost March next year....
Tonight we went tuxedo/dinnersuit/suit shopping for Alex. Just to see how much it might cost to buy a special suit for the wedding. And which styles were available. I told Alex that it makes more sense for him to buy something special for himself for the wedding than for me to as he'd definitely get a chance to wear it again and again to various functions etc. I think mine would be wear once and preserve. Many of the suit stores are having sales - ended up buying a business suit just for everyday wear (side tracked). It reduced to $299 and looks much nicer than the ones he's already got. Time to go back to the wedding budget to tweak it....
Have a great weekend everyone!

Morning Girls,
Heard from Amanda lst night she got the dress from Ferr@ri Bridal in Melbourne she is going back on Saturday with one of her B/M's to try it on again and get B/M's input but from what i can gather its just so she can show her and pay for it.
She said it is the same as the one in my photos but has a semi-cathedral train.
She will be buying shoes on saturday aswell.
I will have photos on wed or thurs so will post them so you can all have a sticky.

Hi MissBayls, Welcome to our March twinnie thread!! Yep, there's a few of us on here and all willing to chat and share plans!!

Look forward to hearing about yours. There are a few girls on the 11th as well!
Hi all my other girls! I haven't been able to log in and say hello for a few days. End of the financial year is a shocker for me. I've been soooo busy. Probably a good thing - at least the days go quickly. It is day 3 since Jase left (not that I'm counting

) It hasn't been too bad actually because I've been flat out during the day and had something on everynight. This weekend will be very busy as well.
Michelle - I'm so sorry I missed your birthday yesterday

I hope you had a lovely day and that Neil cooked you a nice dinner! A belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY for yesterday!!
Laurette - I love that colour scheme. Latte and Dusty Pink is a great colour combination. It always looks so very elegant. I'll have to have a look in my Cosmo over the weekend to check out your dresses!
Kathy - that's great news for Amanda. Will she be able to post some piccies for us to have a look at?? $700 is still a very reasonable price. I think it's better to pay a bit more and get that real "special" feeling - and love what you get, and less and not really like what you are wearing!
That's about it for me for now. Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
