No...I have done absolutely NOTHING all day Mum....
I am meant to be writing a paper for this conference in New Zealand. Currently I have 40 words written, 35 of which are a quote from someone else's work. Super. I'm going to sound very intelligent!

I wrote the letter to change dates, I had a white choc freddo, and stuck a letter on the notice board.

Kate, that is a classic with the Macarena horn! I grew up partly in Perth and partly in south side Sydney, so didn't ever go to the Burma.
Yeah for Amanda! 10 month to go!
Only 20 more min's and time to go home.
Kate, where is that paper shop in Silverwater you mentioned? i don't think I've seen one there.

Morning ladies!
Well, another night passed and I have still not tried on my dress. Today I am having a bad bad hair day, so I doubt that any pics will be taken today either!

May 19 2005, 08:42 AM
Morning all...
looks like its going to be a looooooooooong day around these here parts. I feel like Ive been at work for 6 hours already and its only 8.45am.

May 19 2005, 09:07 AM
If any of you find any latte /light gold/ champagne coloured dresses in your travels, can you pls let me know... Im sort leaning towards that atm.
(plus mums brought an outfit already which is ivory

so Id rather not wear Ivory myself IYKWIM... and it looks stunning on her, so Id rather she wear it and I'll work around her. If I have to wear ivory too, no biggie, Id just like to stand out a bit IYKWIM)

Kate, I will see if I can scan that pic of the one in the B2B magazine. The scanner at work is playing up - and the magizine is in my car, which I dont have, so it might be a few days before I can get it to you
Kate S
May 19 2005, 09:24 AM
Thanks mate.
Its one of those things... Im not 100% sure about... I really have to track down some coloured dresses and actually try them on. Its all well and good for them to look fantastic on a tall, leggy, tanned blonde, but its a different story when I actualy have to wear it for the biggest day of my life!
Whats going on with your car?
Kate S
May 19 2005, 12:30 PM
I cant remember if Ive told you all...
Matt and I both gave up smoking on Sunday night.
Hes using patches and Im going cold turkey! Both cruising along atm. We havent been in a situation where we're surrounded by smokers, or been down the pub yet, so we'll see how things go when the time comes for that!
The really funny thing tho... matt hasnt been in the car since sunday, and he got in last night and accused me of smoking in it. I havent been and told him that, and he reckons the car smelt like Id smoked a full pack in the 45 min drive home. He said it really stunk! I cant smell any difference cos Ive been in it for 2 hours each day, but he said its really bad! Isnt that funny... neither of us could smell it before!
Laurette
May 19 2005, 12:34 PM
Yeah it is funny the way that that happens - you can never get the smell of smoke out of a car.
Congratulations on the giving up smoking! If you can make it through a couple of social sessions you should be right.
My car is still 'in the shop' probably wont get it back until Monday or Tuesday.
Kate S
May 19 2005, 12:39 PM
Ah well!
My sister used to always say it stunk, and I just thought she was having a dig, but matt reckons its really bad.
Thats OK i suppose. Is it covered by insurance, or are you paying for it upfront?

Hi Girls,
I didn't get a chance to check in today 'cause I had a day off work!! It was legit - I took an annual leave day. One of my good friends moved to the Gold Coast in December last year in the pursuit of a more relaxed (and cheaper) lifestyle! Her and her husband bought a block of land up there last year and built a house. She came down this week with her new little baby girl (2 mths old), so I met up with her and other friend for lunch and catch up.
It was lovely and her baby is so cute (I got lots of cuddles)

. You would never know she just popped out a bub, she looks fantastic.
Anyway, I hope everyone is well. Laurette, I have that B2B mag as well and a scanner at home (although, I haven't used it yet!!), so if you have trouble scanning the dress for Kate, let me know. What page is it on??
Kate, I'm sure between all of us and our ge-zillion bridal mags, we should be able to post a champagne/gold dresses for you to check out. Are you wanting A-Line style like the one you bought, or something different altogethor? Describe to us your "dream dress" so we can get an idea what you would like.
Speak to you ladies tomorrow. Friday, yeah!!!!
Jo.

May 20 2005, 09:08 AM
Hey Jo
It would be great if you could scan that photo - I am not going to get my car back today I dont think.
Aww, I love babies!
So what's on for the weekend peoples? I am going to sleep in tomorrow - a sleep in to rival the longest ever I think!
Hey - do you girls have msn messenger? I have just re-set up mine, laurettechapman@hotmail.com - for msn only, not email.
I have added your email addy Kate, as it was a hotmail one, although not sure whether you have it or not.
Kate S
May 20 2005, 09:27 AM
No I dont have messenger

Jo I dont really know what I want.
Its been 6 months since Ive been to try dresses on, so my memory is very fuzzy on what suited me and didnt. I think we'll go again in about 2-3 months so I have a clearer idea of what I want!
My plans for the weekend!!! Well I just found out that the girls soccer game has been moved to tonight, which frees up our sunday!!! YAY!!! Sleepin time for me!
Apart from that, nothing planned really!
Im shitting myself that work is onto me about how much time I spend on the net. Honestly, I ask and ask for things to do, but no-one takes me up on my offer, so what else am I to do? Ive only got 5 weeks max left here, but Im scared theyre going to give me a bad report to my agency, and she wont get me any more jobs and I'll end up working in some cold-call call-centre. When I do have things to do, I do it promptly and well, but thats so few and far between, that I worry they'll forget. And... this is bad but hear me out... sometimes, I leave things on my desk to do the next day, just so I have something to 'look forward to', and then when I get in, the other office chick has done it, which makes it look like I havent done something, whereas Im just trying to space my work out. Its obviously things that arent urgent, but still, I reckon she'll run back to the supervisor and 'dob'... uuurgghhhh... sorry - vent over!

Hi Michelle!
Im not even a March bride anymore, and Im not going anywhere! Welcome!
I was getting married on the 4th, but changed plans!
Where are you from?
Laurette
May 20 2005, 09:42 AM
Oh Kate you poor thing. I reckon work are probably on to me about the net too - although they havent said much so I just keep doing it anyway.
Our receptionist has been sick all this week, and I am so sick of being out the front. I cant realy do my own work out here, which is crap and then today I am out here all alone. So I have to work the ENTIRE office opening hours - which was 7.30 to 6.30 tonight and I doubt whether I will be able to have lunch as there is noone to sit out here! It sucks. I have been doing it all week bar last night when I got to leave at five.
I am so tired. Usually I have three late days a week where I dont start until 9.30 so I get to stay in bed a bit, but no - not this week. I am ratshit today.
Kate S
May 20 2005, 09:47 AM
You poor bugger..
I struggle working 8 - 4!
Im going to ring my contact at the agency today and just see whats happening. My contract was meant to end next week, but I took a week by week extension, so I can really go any time after next week without breaking my contract.
Imagine if the next place I go doesnt have the net

Im scared theyre going to track my hours on the net, then make me reimburse them the $x an hour they pay me!

Hi everyone!!!
March 18 (I am in the minority I see...)
So just how organised am I supposed to be at this relatively early stage? How organised is everyone else?
I too am so addicted I am not getting any work done every morning...

Morning lovelies,
Well we got the best news this morning the first part of our house contract went through so now only have to wait 60 more days till its final.
As for working and being on the net well I dont have that prob as I work for myself but I would'nt be to impressed if my staff were doing what I do(spend every other momment on here).
Welcome Safire your the same date as my daughter Amanda.

Yeah its always the way...
God I feel sorry for you...
Do you HAVE to stay til 6.30? Cuold you suddenly take ill and have to leave at 3??? I cant do stuff like that... Im such a sucker for Karma... (TOTAL TANGENT WARNING!!!!) I dont get people that can say stuff like 'my granma died' just to get out of things... Id be terrified that my granma would drop dead or something...
Im the worst liar...
Kate S
May 20 2005, 10:20 AM
Kathy thats my issue too...
Theyre paying me decent money to be here, and Im on the net. On the flipside tho, if I HAD work to do, I wouldnt have the need to be here 8hrs a day (well that could be a bit of a porkie pie... Id HAVE to duck my head in every now and again!!!

)
Im like that with sickies too. Ive only ever chucked 1 fake sickie ever... and it was the first sickie Ive ever had, and I felt SO guilty, that Ive only ever had about 4 more (legitimate) sickies since! Its a mixture of the karma thing (Im scared id chuck a sickie, and then find out I had cancer or something!!) and the fact that Im getting paid to be there, and I dont think its fair to take advantage of that. Its not a right to have a job.
Just a side note, a worked with a guy that called fake sickies 'healthies'! I thought that was a cack!

So far I have booked: Church, Reception venue (tentatively), Photographer.
And i've done nothing else. peeked into a few bridal shops....

*sigh* oh well. Can always do it at night or on the weekends!

MichelleC
May 20 2005, 11:17 AM
Little bit about me
I am from forbes NSW. And am manager of a credit union and am extremely bored at work today as it is so quiet!!
Chris proposed on the 31st Dec last year.
We finally booked the church last night and the father was so lovely to us!!
I have already got my wedding dress, am in the process of trying to get pics to show everyone so as soon as i do i will add them to my link.
I booked the photographer today but i have had her on standby for ages - she had us "pencilled" in, but today i confirmed it!
We have our wedding rings already and i am getting an idea as to how i want the reception venue to be decorated. Although that depends on chris agreeing to the venue.... I'll let you know how i go.

HI Saffire, Im also getting married 18th March 2006. I think theres about 3 of us now.
I feel very unorganised compared to some girls. Well at least I have the major stuff booked.
Yesterday I booked a celebrant. The deposit for him has been paid and I woke up this morning and said to myself, shit I really am getting married. Sometimes it all feels a bit surreal.
Anyhoo does everyone think $590 for a celebrant is reasonable?? I think they are all pretty much the same price just want to double check to make myself feel better.
Not even looking at dresses til July when my mum comes down to visit.

Hi Michelle
We paid $400 for our church when we booked, of that we get back $100 as bond.
I guess this must be the going rate??
We also now have to fork out $100 for the marriage preparation course!!
---
May 20 2005, 12:07 PM
ouch everything cost money doesnt it. I think we get free marriage prep course through the army, not sure will have to look into it.
MichelleC
May 20 2005, 12:16 PM
i know that paying the $100 will definitely be worth it, but it just surprised me, i mean we are already forking out so much money for the wedding and then we find out they charge $100 for 4 1 hour sessions!!
It would definitely be worth checking out whether the army does it for free.

Im home alone and bored today so will keep posting to amuse myself.
I Just got home from spending 3 hours at pre school with my niece, it was an under 8's day, very very fun I assure you. I do not know how the teachers cope with all them lil ones. Must have great patience.
As you can see Im in no great rush to start a family, very happy with my cat... hehe
