I have found another song for the wedding. I was listening to Lenny Kravitz last night while I was having a shower and stuff (as you do) and one of my favourite songs of his came on, and I think that it just might work. I will surely be using it in our wedding DVD anyway!
I belong to you...
You are the flame in my heart
You light my way in the dark
You are the ultimate star
You lift me from up above
Your unconditional love
Takes me to paradise
I belong to you
And you
You belong to me too
You make my life complete
You make me feel so sweet
You make me feel so divine
Your soul and mind are entwined
Before you I was blind
But since I've opened my eyes
And with you there's no disguise
So I could open up my mind
I always loved you from the start
But I could not figure out
That I had to do it everyday
So I put away the fight
Now I'm gonna live my life
Giving you the most in every way
I belong to you
And you
You belong to me too
You make my life complete
You make me feel so sweet
Oh I belong to you
I belong to you
And you, you
You belong to me too
You make my life complete
You make me feel so sweet
Oh I belong to you
I belong to you
And you, you
You belong to me too
You make my life complete
You make my life complete
You make me feel so sweet

Nice....I thought it might have been, but then I thought it was Adam Ant and got a little worried Laurette!
H2B is a solicitor....and I teach law at university. Its much easier than dealing with real people's problems on a daily basis. Don't let the flashy job title fool you though...as mere graduates H2B and I would probably earn more cleaning the loos at coles or working in Maccas!
How long til this day is over? I have 40 DVD's from bali to watch, including the new bridget jones!

Your Bali photo's are great Amanda. Where did you stay? I've been to Bali twice and loved it. The countryside is so beautiful. I agree with you about a honeymoon though. Unless you stay in Ubud (where there's no beach!!) it's very busy. I've also been to Phuket and it is a lot quieter - and the locals don't hawk you as much. The only concern with Phuket is the damage from the Tsunami, but I guess most of it should be cleared up by March 06 though.
Kathy.....Pink suit!!! Fess up and post those piccies pronto!!
Laurette, I love Lenny, but I'm not sure if I can remember that song??? I'll have to have a look at my Lenny CD's when I get home. The words are beautiful.
Jase & I have had very conflicting idea's on what music/song to have when I walk down the aisle, but we both love this one, so this might be it:
All I Ask of You (from Phantom of the Opera).
No more talk of darkness,
forget these wide-eyed fears;
I'm here, nothing can harm you,
my words will warm and calm you.
Let me be your freedom,
let daylight dry your tears;
I'm here, with you, beside you,
to guard you and to guide you.
Say you'll love me ev'ry waking moment;
turn my head with talk of summertime.
Say you need me with you now and always;
promise me that all you say is true,
that's all I ask of you.
Let me be your shelter,
let me be your light;
you're safe, no one will find you,
your fears are far behind you.
All I want is freedom,
a world with no more night;
and you, always beside me,
to hold me and to hide me.
Then say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime;
let me lead you from your solitude.
Say you want me with you, here beside you,
anywhere you go, let me go too,
that's all I ask of you.
Say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime.
Say the word and I will follow you.
Share each day with me, each night, each morning.
Say you love me ...
You know I do.
Love me, that's all I ask of you ...
Love me, that's all I ask of you.
Wow, I got to sneak in two posts at work today!!
Let us know first thing tomorrow Laurette how your dress looked!
Kate, stay strong....think new dress, think new dress......

Hey Jo
I am a huge Phantom fan, and my mother wants me to use 'all I ask of you' somewhere in my wedding. The only thing that I have a problem with is that it is fairly long. I might have an exerpt? I am not sure. It really is a beautiful piece of music and so suitable for a wedding.
The thing that I love about the Lenny song is that it is a bit 'Rock' - it's not too lovey-dovey, but the chorus really comes through and it sounds great.
Anyway, I might go and see if I can find a sound clip and attach here.

I haven't even thought about music yet....plenty of time I guess!
We stayed at the Bali Garden Hotel in Tuban, south Kuta, which was great. We also spent a few nights in Ubud. I agree totally with you about Ubud, it would be great for a honeymoon.
I have been to Thailand before but not the Phuket area....so we are looking at that as an option. From what I understand most of the places with tsunami damage have been or are well on the way to being fixed. I see it as a bit of community service too - helping them get their industry back on its feet (well that was my excuse for going to Bali, given that tourism had died off there!)....
I grabbed the latest Cosmo Bride last night....it was a moment of weakness doing the shopping! It comes with a free JemmaPlumpout gloss. Mum you should get it, I think youwould like the gloss. I also got a copy of B2B as they had honeymoon specials. Something good for me to read on the flight to Melbourne next week (if I can wait that long before opening it!)....

Ladies I have some bad news to report... I caved last night and brought a packet of smokes. Matt said he'd give up with me on sunday, so thats the new start date. We're going to buy patches when we go shopping on the weekend, so HOPEFULLY we'll be smoke free this time next week!

*slap* on the wrist for you Kate! Naughty girl!
At least you and Matt are now going to do it together - that is great news that he is going to jump on the bandwagon and with it being a team effort it will also make it easier and you will be trying extra hard so that you're not the first one to cave in!
Speaking of team efforts, I got in trouble last night for not pulling me weight around the house! EXCUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE ME?
I was doing stuff on my computer at home, for the first time in ages and it was when the Simpsons were on, so Glenn was making tea for the first time in ages and told me that I had to cut up the French stick for bread and I said no, you can do it and so he came out to the back room and said 'You really aren't playing fair as part of team Chessor at the moment! We are team Chessor and you have to pull your weight. At the moment you are taking the 'm' and the 'e' out of 'team' and making it all about you'. All the while he was doing this in a stupid voice and I was laughing so hard I had to go and help him.
So therefore, we are now 'team Chessor' not just Glenn and Laurette. Sigh. Sometimes he comes out with the most stupid stupid things.
I didnt try the dress on because I was with Glenn all night and his parents werent home for me to go round there and try it on. I could have gone round there with Glenn's key, but imagine if they had come home and found me in the middle of the lounge room with a wedding dress on? I thought that maybe it was best to wait a bit until it was all kosher. I will try tonight maybe, although I will probably be at the hairdressers until 9pm.
Can't win.
I am very sore today!

Laurette, that's too cute!! Can you tell we're all just DYING for you to put your dress on!!!! To put US out of our misery!!! We might have to wait until after the weekend girls
Kate, sorry to hear you cracked under the nicotine pressure, but that's heaps better that Matt is going to quit with you. It would have been so hard to try quit with him still smoking - the ultimate temptation! I've heard the patches are really good for cravings. A friend of mine who quit carried around a little stress ball thing to play with because he didn't know what to do with his hands, he was so used to holding a cigarette (although this could completely be a guy thing

).
I spoke to the minister at the Church yesterday and after we had a chat, he said he'll put me back to the secretary to get my date written in the book and have her send out a letter about the wedding, flowers etc. So, although he didn't actually say he would marry us in those words, I'm presuming it's a yes if I'm getting letter etc sent out???? VERY Happy

. This is now all the big things booked and organised, so our date shouldn't change again!!! Yeah!!! Next job - florist!!
Have you girls thought about what flowers you want - type and real or silk?
Jo.

Kathy, Im sure youre outfit was very fashionable in the 80's. (better than hubbys acid wash jeans that for sure

)
I actually really like the shoes you were wearing. You'd pay a fortune for those atm!
Jo, Great news about your church!!! Bet youre stoked! We're getting real flowers, but that was never a question for me. I personally wouldnt go silk, but thats just my preference!
I was so cranky at myself for giving in last night, but Im sure other smokers will agree you need to be mentally prepared for it more than anything else. I sort of sprung it on myself and didnt really think it thru. God that sounds like an excuse, but a smoker will understand!
Kathy W
May 12 2005, 01:19 PM
Kate,
Yes the acid wash was pretty trendy he just looked at it and said "what was i thinking wearing them".
The shoes cost me $35.
Well you caved not to worry you will do it but you have to really be prepared to do it and talk yourself into it.I know it sounds easy but it isnt and you are right only a smoker would understand where your coming from.

Would you ladies consider allowing someone close to you make your dress?
I had it offered to me, but declined due to the fact that I thought I would be a bit of a nightmare to deal with and wanted something pretty complex, but now, (I think) I want something plainer, and Im a lot more relaxed about the whole thing. (ie bubble has burst and I realise not EVERYTHING will be perfect!!!). Im also CONSIDERING going a champagne/latte/goldy colour, which might be a bit hard to track down off the rack.
This is just something thats been crossing my mind, and Im not seriously considering it yet, but thought Id get some input.

Kathy, your wedding suit is O.K. I was picturing some fluoro pink disaster. The dynasty shoulder pads and acid wash jeans are a dead giveaway for the 80's though!
Kate, I'm also having real flowers. Have never considered anything but - I love fresh flowers. I've just noticed that a fair few girls on i-do seem to go with the silk option.
To answer your question, I personally would probably not get someone close to me make my dress. Only because if it didn't turn out quite the way I wanted, it would make things really tricky. One one hand, I would want to be happy about the dress and on the other, I wouldn't want to offend my friend/family member and hurt their feelings if it wasn't what I wanted. I just think it would be "safer" to go someone "independent" so you don't risk that personal involvement if things go wrong. That's just me though.
Amanda/Kathy, I like the little hair pins on your photo's. Can I ask where you got them?

Amanda, Im considering Ebay too!
Jo, thats my thoughts, and Im scared that I wouldnt like a certain part of the dress, but wouldnt feel comfortable to say anything about it, and just sort of go along with it, and not be happy with the end result! As I said, it was just somethign that I was thinking, but the cons definately outweigh the pros!
Im going to put some dress pics in my album and post a link in a minute!

I shouldve specified that its more the colours of those that I like.
The strapless one is pretty, but not really me, and I wouldnt do halterneck (WAY too much emphasis on my boobs - which I dont want!)
ETA:
Im also not a massive fan of embroidery. Its a bit too OTT for my taste. Id prefer a few embellishments, but thats it. I called the top of the strapless one tapestry-ish, but Laurette used a "real" word to describe it!

Leesha, congrats on getting your make-up booked. Make sure you post piccies soon!! I haven't started doing anything on this front, but have a couple of people I want to check out. How far in advance do they get booked out??
Yeah, Friday. I LOVE my Fridays. Especially this one, 'cause my boy comes home!
Glad you liked my dress girls. Laurette, one of the things that I liked about it was what you mentioned - some details on top, but quite simple on bottom so it's not too OTT. To be honest, the detail on the corset is completely not what I thought I'd go for. I'd been picking dresses with a little sparkle on the top, but not much, but it just suited me when I put it on.

Hi gals,
TGIF! WOOHOO! I have a meeting after a long lunch today with some friends today, so guess who wont be functioning in the meeting!!! Heheheh....
Kate - I saw you lurking here this morning! I am really nonplussed about getting the dress on Ebay. For the $300 it costs, if I really don't like it I will just sell it on Ebay. My experience with Ebay is that I could potentially make a profit. Actually, H2B (when he saw how inexpensive my dress was) suggested we purchase a heap in bulk and sell them on Ebay! Hehehe. So I'm really not nervous at all. Mum has done a lot of research though and got some great feedback about this woman. If you want details just PM me.
Welcome JC....and Jo loved the dress. My hips wont allow me to wear such things!
Leesha - I have booked my makeup in but probably wont do a trial til much later in the year. She is a real sweetie and is a friend of a friend who has now become the beautician I use. She uses napoleon cosmetics and I have 100% faith in her.
Anyway, better go and do something this week that can be classified as work.

Hey Leesha
Congratulations on the makeup booking. Do we get to see photos of the finished product?
I am getting my E ring cleaned today, so that's great - it's going to be all sparkly and clean to go with my nice new nails which were redone yesterday so that I can show it off over the weekend to all the family who havent seen it yet (we are going to Wollongong this afternoon for the weekend - cant remember whether I told you all that). So I get to leave work at 3pm today - yay!
I know that the car ride will be painful for my tum tum, but it will be worth it to spend two nights on Northbeach. Ahh, the joys... I love the Novotel there. It's the best!
Kathy, I also have the lipgloss on today - I quite like it. I am interested to see if it really does plump?
Kate, where are you? I saw you lurking in here before, but no post!
Did everyone see that I managed to attach a file on the other post (last page) - I was pretty proud of myself that it actually worked!
