Where did you gals go for honeymoon? We are now thinking Thailand/Malaysia etc. Cant book yet because we dont know about Neils work. Getting really sick of not knowing anything
I just want somewhere to relax in a resort pool with plenty of cocktails, somehwere that has beautiful beaches and blue water. Somewhere not too overpopulated. Somewhere not too expensive. we found this place
http://www.fivestaralliance.com/luxury_hot...yan_tree_phuketsorry cant make link - it looks beautiful but we would have to win the lotto!

Michelle - we went to Langkawi in Malaysia. We decided against Phuket because we thought it would be a bit overpopulated and expensive. Langkawi was as cheap as chips, and we were treated like royalty. It was luxury. We stayed at the Sheraton, Singapore Airlines had a good deal where you could get airfaires and stopovers in Singapore and accommodation for around $1500 per person.
Let me know if you want more details, but I'd try a google search on 'Langkawi'.

Heya girls!
Michelle - I haven't been to Langkawi for a while but I'm pretty sure its gorgeous as ever!!! And I can definitely vouch for the cheap as chips. The australian dollar is very strong against the Malaysian ringgit so its definitely good value for money. We like going to KL and shopping. We're going in August actually but this trip will be to visit my grandma who is not well...
Amanda - go amanda!! go go go!! You're almost there!!!
Safe Journey Kathy!!!! What a wonderful adventure!!!
Hope you and bubby are keeping warm Laurette

We spent the weekend at a hotel in the city - Alex's way of going to my work ball on Sat night without having to drive home!

We also watched Burn the Floor at Crown on Friday night which was A-MAZING. Now I'm inspired to go back to those dance lessons!!!
Nothing much else for me. I'm cold.
Love Chloe XOXOXOXO

Wow Chloe, that sounds great! We stayed at Crown on the way home from our honeymoon, and it was sensational. We stayed at Crown Towers, not Crown Promenade, and from our room, we could see the river and all the flames going up out the front. It was very cool. I wanted to see a show there, but unfortunately there was nothing on when we were there, so I had to settle for a gold class movie instead.
Michelle, your holiday planning sounds wonderful! Let us know when you decide on somewhere, so that we can all check it out too! I love the sound of cocktails and blue blue blue water... there was a place that they gave a holiday away to on Temptation the other week, although it was valued at $30K, so I dont think that it is within your budget... I will try to remember where it was though, there might be something cheaper. It had those individual huts over the water. I found it on Google Earth and had a look. Glenn promised if we win the lottery one day that he will take me there.
Amanda, we are all so proud of you! How exciting that you are almost finished! All the best for the last couple of weeks!
Me and bub are doing well - still losing weight, still very sick - I actually had 4 whole days of morning sickness and was starting to skyte about it, and then this morning it came back with full force. Spewing in the shower is so glamourous when there's nothing in your tummy! Sorry to gross your all out.
First ultrasound is on Thursday, so after that I will have some pictures to share with you all, hopefully everything is OK, but I am starting to stress, which is normal I think..... Motherly instinct and all that.
Have a great day everyone

Today I am waiting anxiously for my DVD (wedding video) to arrive in the mail.
Happy 4 months anniversary March 18ies by the way!!!
SO yes, it has been 4 months and apparently our videographer sent the DVD from Qld on Monday. Which means it probably will arrive today. Seriously, I'm not doing any work, just waiting... !!!! ARRHhh!!! The agony!!!!
Amanda, I recall you've been waiting a long time for yours? Did you finally get it?
Apparently though, our DVD contains more than 3 hours of edited footage. And needs to be spread over 2 DVDs. There is a highlights of the day section, and a more comprehensive section...
Congratulations for tomorrow Laurette! Having a look at your baby for the first time must be so unbelievably exciting!!! More exciting I'd imagine than finally getting your wedding DVD... Us March aunties are waiting for pics!!!!

Sniff. I'm tired of waiting... It was sent on Monday!!! How long does a package take to arrive I ask you??!? Better be here tomorrow or someone's going to get it!!!

I got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry Laurette - heheh I typed that post on Thursday night just after midnight and when I meant 'tomorrow' I meant today (as in Friday) not Saturday when generally speaking, the whole of Australia doesn't get post

I have had a sneak peak.. just a peaky sneak but ALex and I are going to sit down tonight and watch it proper...
I think it will take all night - there's a LOT of footage!
Laurette - Photos. C'mon? Where are they????

Jul 22 2006, 07:41 AM
Righto then, off to find the link to the pic, you impatient woman
Great news about the wedding DVD - how exciting! I am still trying to work out how to burn a copy of mine to send to you all... are you able to copy your higlights disc Chloe? Amanda, have you got yours back?
Chloe, I want a full report once you've watched it!
Righto, here is my little gymanst, upside down in mummy's tummy - I could not get over how much he was moving around! it was hilarious!

Oh Chloe that's so good to hear! How does it look? Is it a good DVD?
Sorry to hear you have been unwell Laurette....how are the US pics? Have you posted them anywhere yet? Cant wait to see the bub!!!
Well, things are finally pulling together at this end...the thesis is all but done...I just have a few more changes to plug in, and then its off to the printer on monday!!!! WOOOHOOO! We cheated and had a celebratory dinner out last night with a bottle of moet (mmm...nice champagne). So with any luck it will be bound by the end of next week (5 copies) then submitted the following week....and then I dont have to think about it for months!
Work is also getting busy, unit goes back next week so I will be busy with getting lectures ready over the weekend and getting myself organised there.
Mum and dad came over last weekend for the first stop on their trip, it was a bit sad saying goodbyes cause it will be 6 months before we see them, but good to see them nonetheless..
Well, just thought I'd pop in and catch you all up...chat soon!

Wow Laurette!!!!!!!
Think I must be pmsing cos i'm so emotional but that US gave me warm tingles all over! How amazing (I see you referred to baby as a 'he'...have we confirmed this or...???)!
We watched all of the two DVDs last night and there were tears and lots of laughter

I can't get over the best man's speech. It was so hilarious and also inappropriate and hilarious!!!! Alex cried while watching the ceremony (watching himself cry I guess!). It was so lovely watching the dance for the first time! There is so much during the day that I hadn't realised had happened or rememebered that the DVD brought back

It's a draft so I just have to fix a couple of names spelt incorrectly and George our video guy will be sending me some final versions... We should be able to copy them. Do you have a few copies of your DVD Laurette? If you do, you could send me down one copy and I will copy multiple copies for you on my DVD burner. If you want many many copies just buy as many blank DVDs and you need and I'll burn them all for you to send to friends and relatives

Let me know first and I'll find out if the DVD needs to be special kind (i'm clueless about the specifics!)
Amanda!!! WHOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO re finished thesis and celebratory moet!!! Think you shoudl celebrate all weekend long!!! Congrats!!!! What an achievement!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!

Hi girls. Been giving this thread a miss for a few days I felt bad for coming in and just writing about the uncertainty of Neil going overseas, no one should have to read my rambling especially when they dont make sense/not relavent to this thread.
Anyway.
Laurette, your baby is gorgeous. I am so happy for you and Glenn. I cant believe how quick the pregnancy is going, although thats easy for me to say sitting here on the other side of a computer screen not going through the morning sickness etc. Hope your doing ok.
Chloe - I am glad you got the DVD and were happy with it.
Amanda - OMG you are nearly there!!! Hope all is going to plan with you.
Life here is ok, the weather is still beautiful not looking forward to the wet season starting up. Today is a public holiday - show day. Work is shitting me at the moment but the money in the bank each week makes it worthwhile. Still playing netball twice a week but thinking of quitting due to getting injured more frequently. Mixed netball is really rough! My mum is coming up to visit in October and I cant wait, I am so lonely here. The good news is we have been here for nearly 8 MONTHS can you believe it, it just feels like we only just moved, so less than 18 months and we can get out of here!
Laurette
Jul 28 2006, 11:13 AM
Wow Michelle, that 8 months has gone by fairly quickly hasnt it! The next year and a bit will fly by, I am sure.
Dont you ever feel bad about rambling - we're your friends and we're here for you, whatever the topic.
Love you heaps

Hey Gals.....
Well......its DONE! All handed in. I never have to think about it again! Off to celebrate properly tonight!
Sorry I haven't been in, but I-Do has been playing up and I haven't been able to get in til now!
Laurette, how exciting to see the US! Is it a boy? Are we allowed to know?
Michelle - remember we are always here for you, don't worry about ranting to us! Mum and Dad are currently in sunny Darwin and having a hoot of a time! Hopefully I can get some pics to post soon.
Chloe - glad you got your DVD. I also got mine a few weeks ago too (the weekend mum and dad were here). Mum and I almost had a teary watching it all again! Plus, he had put a sort of 'blooper reel' on the end of it from the rehearsal, which was hilarious!
Anyway, I have heaps of work to do today. Funnily enough I was so worried about not having anything to do once the thesis was finished that I have signed myself up for all of this teaching and research work, so I'm as busy as ever! I will try to be back in here more often, hopefully I-Do will behave itself though!
Chat to you all soon,

Argh, these forums are maddening! Driving me bonkers!
I am glad that I can sort of get back on now... although who knows how long it will last...
Hi girls long time no see.
Amanda congrats on finishing your uni work. Hoe muich did you celebrate? When did your mum arrive here? How long were they here for would have been good to catch up but I just realised that Neil had my new mobile phone while he was on course in Melbourne last week so I had no way to contact her

Neil came back 1:30am this Sat morning (yes 1:30am yawn) so happy to have him home I was missing him- as he got back for 1 day from his last exercise to be told he was on a week long course in melbs, so didnt get to see him too much over the past few weeks.
He is definately on the list to go o/s in December, I am glad to finally know, should find out dates soon I hope. I have to fill in my passport paperwork because this means Im going to Rome!! Might even be able to time it so I am over there with him in March so celebrate our 1 yr anniversary. Very excited. Christmas will suck he is is gone for that but will cross that bridge when I come to it.
Not much else to report.

CONGRATULATIONS AMANDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, what's happened to these forums since we've all been kept out? I' haven't been able to get in for days and days and now its all changed again!
Michelle - that's good news about finally knowing what's going on with Neil.. Wow Rome huh? How exciting!!!!!
Laurette how's our first Marchies 06 baby comin along?????

Well, lots of news from me - our landlord wants to sell the house we're renting. We've been looking to buy for a bit and always thought we wouldn't mind buying this place... So we're thinking of putting in an offer. I've been talking to a mortgage broker and finally today had the most upsetting distressing stupid conversation with him. I got really angry and told him what I thought of his unprofessionalism and judgemental attitude (but I think I did it in a very constructive manner) and then started to cry over the phone so I told him I didn't want to continue with the conversation...
ANyway, I spoke with a couple of people and they all say we've got no problems at all getting a home loan - in fact we could borrow a lot more than we're looking to borrow... So that first guy can go... well you know where he can go

So everything is moving so fast but we may be either a)out of a home soon or b)homeowners very soon...
Will keep you girls informed

Chloe XOXOXOXOXXOXOXOXOXO

Laurette - sounds good! I've just copied mine successfully to take to Malaysia tomorrow night..
Did I forget to tell you guys we're going to KL tomorrow night? It's been on the cards for a while but my grandmother (mother's side) is very very sick and the doctors have given her a week or two to live. *sigh* This has been a realy emotional roller coaster week. My mum is already there looking after her. My Grandma went back into hospital yesterday but mum is trying to get her back home so she is more comfortable. Anyway, I've just been told by our photographer they are courriering our final album to us tomorrow morning so we should have it to take to Malaysia which we were hoping we would make it in time to show my grandma before she goes.
So - I've copied the DVD so I can leave copies there for everyone

Looking forward to getting your DVD Laurette and I'll copy it as many times as you want and send it back

Oh dear Chloe. I am so sorry to hear about your Grandmother. That's no good at all - I will be thinking of her, and I hope that she's not uncomfortable. It will be wonderful if you are able to take the wedding photos to show her. I hope that you have a safe trip

I will send you my DVD when you return

Hello girls,
Im here in sunny Darwin
Have been doing heaps of touristy things went out to the Adilaide River the other day and fed the Crocs, then down to the fish feeding ramp at high tide to do a bit of fish feeding.
The weather is lovely I could live here in winter but not summer (to hot)
Went to the Darwin Races I won $$$$$ but hubby lost about $800 but it was a good day.
Thinking of going to the casino and trying my luck there could be dangerous.
We are here till next wedensday as there is something wrong with our car (only minor)and will be fixed next tuesday.
Then its off to Kakadu then back down to Katherine for a few days then over to WA.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Laurette,
How is everything going?Has your morning sickness started to ease?
How is Chess Jr?
Chloe,

We missed her by a day. My grannie died this morning. We've brought our flights forward a day so we're flying off tonight. The people working with our photographer are amazing. One of the team working with the photographic studio is flying down from brisbane to Melbourne tonight to meet us at the airport to give us the album so we can take it up to Malaysia with us. Even though my grandma will not see it, I think it will cheer me up and mum and alex and I can look at it all together. I can't believe how amazing my photographer and his team are.
My poor mum is really upset but she is relieved that my grandma is not in pain anymore.
I can't believe I have lost both my grandmothers within a couple of months apart from eachother

Hey Kathy good to see you. Yes it is busy here at the moment being peak tourist season. How are you liking the jets that are constantly flying over head?? They are a part of Pitch Black, an air force exercise. Some of them fly so low over my house I think they may land on the roof, pretty loud and scary but I love to hear them all the same. When you go down to Katherine, try to stop at mataranka - the thermal springs. Yes the weather at the moment is beautiful, but come back at Christmas time then you will know what hot really is.
Chloe - huge hugs for you, I am so sorry to hear

I hope you have a safe trip to KL. You have a few angels looking after you now *hugs*

Hello all
Wow! Its been nearly a month since I have been able to get in here! My computer at home for whatever reason has been playing up and I couldnt get into the forums no matter how hard I tried!
What's been happening with ya'll?
Chloe, so sorry to hear about your grandmother....you have been through a lot. Sorry I wasn't in here to pass on some hugs when you needed it. How was KL? Was it good to catch up with the family again?
Michelle, bummer you missed mum, they are in Kunnunurra now. They are having a good time I think. They went for a flight over the Ord River yesterday and mum was really sick! Hehehehe. I've been to Italy and France. Nice was my fave place in France (I loved Paris, but it was HOT HOT HOT and stank of urine, they pee in the streets in some places. It was great to see it though). I always have good memories of Nice....lovely beach, great weather and GREAT FOOD! Italy was also fun...I really loved Venice (minus the stink) and Rome of course you have to see. So much history. Make sure you go to Vatican City, well worth the visit. You lucky lucky devil!!!
How is Neil going?
Lady Laurette - how is our mumma to be? Not too sick I hope? Good on you for bumping the thread back up. For some reason I'm not receiving email notification of replies, so hopefully I will start getting them! The countdown is on for you now, isnt it!!
Well, we are at coffs this weekend so I get a better computer to use. Work has been INSANO. I've been teaching a double load, working for the union as a recruitment officer and also doing some casual research work for one of the Uni's research centres. Have been totally off my feet. Ive brought work over to the coast to do, but the weather is absolutely lovely I can't bring myself to do it! We've already been down the beach this morning, and there are plans for a seafood BBQ later on. MMMM!
Our big news is that we have booked another holiday!!!! YAY!!!! Given that we have both been so busy since the wedding, and really didn't have much time to enjoy our honeymoon, we are out of here for 18 days in February to Thailand. WOOHOO! We are having a week in Phuket, about 5 days on Phi Phi Island (near where The Beach was filmed), and then Bangkok for a week. Have been to Bangkok before but not Phi Phi or Phuket so we are very very excited! We didnt get a Jetstar cheapie but I managed to get a really good fare from Zuji and made all of the accommodation and transfer bookings online. We have managed to do it all (flights, accom etc) for abnout $3000 so we are happy with that. Now all we have to do is save our pennies for the next few months.
Anyway, better get back to the beach. Love to you all, looking forward to catching up!
Amanda

Hi girls, yes this thread has died a bit hasnt it. Welcome back Amanda, sorry to hear work has been so crazy busy. Your next holiday sounds great, take plenty of pics, especially of Phi Phi Island. I think our mini holiday before Neil goes away will be postponed, due to me not being able to get time off as we are 1 down at the moment, plus we will be running out of time he starts his pre deployment training soon so will not be allowed time off. It looks like mid to late Nov he will be going.
I will be going home to spend my first Xmas as a married woman with mum. My bro from Bris will be coming up, will be the first time all of us siblings will have Xmas together for ages, so I am looking forward to that.
We bought some new couches, just have to wait 6 weeks for them to be delivered because we live in the middle of nowhere.

sorry bad quailty taken with phone. I also bought a new digi cam because I thought our old one was dead, but turns out it just needed new batteries

(must be the blonde foils I have in my hair )

Nice couches Michelle! Glenn has those same 'thongs' as Neil. I bought them for him about 2 years ago and they're still going strong

Sorry to hear that you wont get to get away together before he leaves - that bites! No good at all. Although, Christmas sounds good - I really hope that you have a great time with your mum and bro

Amanda, WOW about your holiday! I hope that you have a great time - and it sounds as though you deserve it, after working so hard lately!
if I knew yesterday you were having a roast, I so would have been there!
here is a pic of me last weekend - 17w belly shot. All is well with the pregancy, will have another ultrasound within the next fortnight I hope, so will show pics again then

Those thongs of Neils are colorado ones, and are in desperate need of being replaced. He just doesnt want to buy new shoes, what is wrong with the boy I would jump at the chance of getting new shoes.
Laurette - I love your baby belly

Are you going to find out the sex?
Amanda my old digi cam will go with Neil overseas so that he can wreck it over there. He aint taking my new baby over to the "sandpit". Oh we actually have a real date now for him leaving - 21st Nov, but we shall see when he really ends up going. I dont think I would mind the streets of Paris smelling like piss - it sounds like how the streets near my work smell, there are some ferals who live around who think the allyway is their toilet
We went down the the beach on Friday night after neil got back from a week away, we picked a remote bit of the beach to sit and eat our dinner to have a romantic night watching the sunset, and a local came and sat right beside us and starting tapping his sticks and singing a tribal song. It was kind of weird eating our dinner being serenaded by him

I think he wanted some money - poor guy he picked the wrong couple we have no money

And this little thing was in my boot the other day. I put my foot in and felt it, then put my hand in

to findout what it was and this ran out. After swearing some nice words I ran to get my cam. This pic doesnt do it justice it was freaking huge.

) come flying out of it!
Sunset looks beautiful

Cant believe that guy though! Glad to hear you have a date hon

Glenn's thongs are the same - Colorado.

Well I'm back. We got back about a week ago and since then my internet has been down - I'm thinking of changing from bigpond... I think we're back up and running now though!
It was a really hard week in KL and I just spoke with mum this morning and she's still upset about my grandma. She cries every night. My mum is just the most sentimental person and emotional person and she's all by herself there in Brisbane... I'm trying to go and visit her as soon as I can.
In other breaking news, I have a new car (my previous car's lease was up) and I love it. Especially as the weather here in Melbourne has been behaving itself so I've been enjoying driving around aimlessly... LOL
Laurette - look at your gorgeous belly!!! Whoo hoo!!! Yes, we want to know if you are going to know whether I'm goign to be a boy-March-Aunty or a girl-March-Aunty!!!
Amanda and Michelle - you girls need to get extra large suitcases - ones that can fit human people the size of... well me! I want to come on your holidays! They sound magnificent!!!! If we end up buying our house, we'll probably not be scheduled for a big holiday for a while... If we don't well I think I should go get some travel brochures!!!
Kathy - if you swing by Melbourne pick me up will you?!? You sound like you're having a ball...
