Good work with the writing Amanda! How many words do you have to write all up? Have you been doing anything else with your day, or are you just writing all the time?
magnetique
May 18 2006, 09:53 AM
Gotta write between 80-100,000 all up.... have written about 78,000....am aiming for 90,000, which I should reach by next week.
Beck - if you are in here, I am sorry to hear about what happened....my thoughts are with you...
Good luck to you too Laurette....fingers crossed!!!

Wow. I doubt that I have written that many words in my life... actually, I am sure that I have, it's just a lot to write in one go! Imagine the person who marks all these things - how many they have to read!
magnetique
May 18 2006, 12:12 PM
well, I'm hoping they skim it in fact....there's no need to pay such close attention!!!
I'm hoping to have the bulk of it written by next week....I really only have to write another 10,000 words, which is do-able in one week. That will then leave me about 2 months (according to my ticker!) to complete revisions. So not only do I have to write the crap, I then have to re-read it to make sure it makes sense. Thankfully I have four pairs of eyes reading over it making sure that it makes sense!
Mind you, I've had three years to get it done! You would have thought that I would have had it finished by now, but planning a wedding in the middle of it didn't help. All those days I was reading journal articles I was too busy fecking about looking at dresses and bonbons and cars and flowers and cakes!!
Better roll on....am aiming for the big 80K today. That's the first milestone reached - the minimum word count I can hand in!

Laurette I have everything crossed for you this weekend, even my eyes (might have to borrow the eye drops from Amanda)
Amanda, good luck with finishing the thesis, I hope those extra 10,000 words come really easily, I take my hat off to you I used to struggle to crap on for 2000 words with my uni assignments
Beck - Im really sorry to hear

I hope you and your hubby are doing ok.
Happy 2 month anniversary to all the 18th March gals.
Does anyone know with ebay, if you win, is the seller supposed to email you or something, or do they just send your parcel once they get payment with no contact? I have paid but not heard anything...
Thank *^%$ its Friday tomorrow.
Have a great weekend

Hiya chickens
Sorry that I havent been doing my bit to keep this thread rolling, not that anyone can really say they have been! We have been very slack!
Michelle, sorry that I had to run last night, Glenn was at me to move all the saucepans off the loungeroom floor
I tested on Thursday and got a BFN, yes I know too early, or maybe it was Friday morning, I cant even remember, but I will test again in the next few days and see what happens. Not holding out much hope this month though, I dont think that we BD enough at the right time.
Next month might be it, but I recently heard too that it takes sperm 90 days to organise itself to be right, so Glenn needs to get working on that and behaving.
He starts in Young next week, so I know that that will make him cut down on the beer, as he will never be around to be drinking! Not that he does much anyway, but you know.

Oh, you're beautiful!
You know, I so didnt expect a butterfly, so that was a shock! I expected it to be like a... some sort of plain black celtic or tribal design in the small of your back, stretching out almost to the edges of your sides.
Well there you go!
Hope you had a lovely weekend chicki!
What's going on in your world?

Sorry I have been pretty quiet, things are going nuts with the thesis. Have finally hit 80,000 words, and I just have to write the conclusion. But I'm now busy of course re-writing all the other work that has been corrected, blah!
Will try to pop in more regularly!!!

Hi girls. I got my parcel from ebay - Im just impatient. The dress is really nice but will need to be taken in a lot. Oh well.
Neil is gone again 3 weeks this time but he will be home this weekend and gone again monday for 2 weeks straight. We had a big barney last night before bed, big fight upset us both but we sorted it eventually and we are now friends again. We always have little tiffs before he goes away, I think its common its the mind subconsciously getting ready to be apart. I am sad though to know he is away today after a big fight.
Chloe I really like your butterfly did you design it?
Laurette, sorry to hear about bfn.
Amanda, good work with the theisis.
I have netball again tonight not feeling that motivated but once Im there I will be ok.
Michelle
ps just got email from fil who didnt welcome me to the family during his speech at our wedding

informing me of his injuries in his private parts

Amanda you crack me up!!!!
(Get it? You 'crack' me up? lol - I need a life)
Michelle - sucks that Neil's off for work. How are you getting along with the neigbours and other people up there? I reckon you should chuck a big party and don't tell him about it but leave some telltale signs that you've had a ball (e.g. really cool photos with lots of drunken laughing people). Then just casually respond when he asks, "oh yeah darling...I had a bit of a party but you were away at the time... shame though really - it was a blast!"

Mrs Kennedy - whoahhh 80,000 words/!?!? I'm sure there aren't enough words in the world to write that (oh hang on, I forgot Tolkein has already tried to out-do 80,000 words...). Good on you! Sounds like you're on the home stretch!
Laurette - sorry to hear about the BFN. Like you said, maybe it was too early? Anyway, I'm all for a March baby (slightly biased here as my birthday is in March) so next month maybe?
Helooo (helloooo hellooo helloooooo *echo*) Jo (Jooooo Joooo Jooooooooo)!!! Where are you?? (are you. ...are you.....!)

Well, what's been happening in the life of Mrs Chan-Chan?
This weekend we went along to the Australian Bridal Service Exhibition (hehehe). The day was really fun and I performed with my dance teacher 2 times as part of the big fashion parade. It went really well and the AP dress got another opportunity to come out of the bag

I've been mucking around with thank you cards but havent' really done anything (so slack of me!) I've developed a heap of photos and we just received our proofs album last week - yay! I'm busy scanning all the pics in and then plan to take them to rabbit photo to develop and include in the thank you cards... Of course, I'm not supposed to be scanning them but... you know

!
Ok, I've scanned about 100. Only 1100 left to go!
--M--
May 23 2006, 09:28 PM
Just bumping this back up top.
Chloe well done on dancing at the exhubition. I bet it was a real hassle to put on that AP dress again
Warning : whinge ahead, dont read if you dont want.
I have a massive UTI today got it at work I cant remember having one this bad before, I came home from work really early as Im more comfortable at home (close to the toilet

) so now I just hope the AB's kick in because its painful. Oh I got put on the same AB's I was on last time (2 weeks ago..) and I got a rash but we didnt know what caused it so lets hope the rash doesn't reappear or I may have scored myself my first real allergy.
I am very very lonely, homesick, missing N, missing my mum, just want a hug or someone to look after me. And I want some chocolate.

Ah thank you my dear. I have already had 4L of water today and tonnes of ural so feeling a bit woozy but hopefully it all works soon
magnetique
May 24 2006, 08:46 AM
oooh you poor thing Michelle! How about a hug? Will that do?
Have you managed to get chocolate yet? I ripped through a pack of cherry slice (like mint slice but tastes like cherry ripe!) this week....woohoo!!!
Incidentally michelle....if FIL is telling you about his private parts, I'd say that indicates that he has welcomed you into the family!!!!!!!!!
Chloe your humour is simply champagne comedy. I made the worst joke in class yesterday. We did a tute where one of the characters in the problem collected model trains. A student asked me a question when I was mid-flight explaining something, so I said 'X, you've just DERAILED my TRAIN of thought....HAHAHAHA". I swear I'm turning into the teacher from hell that everyone hates....or at least FIL given the quality of my jokes!!!
Off for 2 hours of misrepresentation lectures now....JOY! Then back to the words! Gotta keep cranking them out!
Good to hear the expo went well Chloe....do they have any pics? You should see the pics of me from the bridal expo here last year!! in fact I'm sure I posted them somewhere on here??
Anyway, back to work, hope y'all have a good day!

Amanda - I love your sense of humour and if your students don't like it... well, actually a C minus isn't technically a fail is it??

Alex actually managed to do a very dodgy video of our performance using our digital camera but I don't think there's any way I can upload that online - I tried and I think my connection has slowed down from all the internet usage so maybe next month when it speeds up again.
400 pictures scanned.
Only 800 left to go...
Oh hey girls! In case you have a whole heap of wedding pictures you want to develop (or honeymoon!!) harvey norman are doing their 15c special to print 4X6 photos (and 5X7's are reduced too but can't remember how much) and Rabbit Photo are matching their prices but the offer ends this weekend.
This is why I'm frantically trying to scan all 1200 pictures so I can develop them all without having to sell a liver in the process.
We've just got our credit card bills from our honeymoon and looks like the liver is going to have to go in any case...

Hope you're feeling much better today

May 24 2006, 11:19 AM
Tell me about it Chloe.
We got an electricity bill last week for over $400 dollars, and we were away for a month of it! So how does that work…
And I hear you about the credit card bills from the honeymoon. All the extra points we earned don’t even soften the blow. Trying hard to work out some debt consolidation at the moment…
Michelle, I am sorry to hear about your UTI. I don’t know that I have ever had one – I would know if I have, wouldn’t I? – so I don’t feel your pain, I can just send you cyber hugs and cyber cranberry juice like Chloe. Go you with the water! You’ve done well, although I think that I would be starting to feel like a fish if that was me!
No real news from me… it’s State of Origin night so that means that I don’t have to cook. Happy about that.

Hello..
I am home sick

My boss said just stay at home and was really understanding. I could have worked but dont feel like making 100 trips to the toilet at work. Yeah after 4L of work I am feeling like a fish, and was up constantly last night to pee, plus I was hearing noises in the house which scared me...Usually Im ok, but Ive been told that there are boat people in the detention centre on base just down the road, and that there are dodgy contractors on base pretending to work for DHA so maybe thats what had me worried..
Laurette, I hope you are going for Qld tonight
Speaking of electricity bills, we have only had one since we have been here, so we must be due for one very soon

Everytime you get ahead something else crops up.
Laurette
May 24 2006, 12:11 PM
Electricity bills suck...
I have ours debited from my account monthly, but after this bill arrived they rang and said that we have to pay an extra $60 a month to make up the difference - so it's up from $125 a month to $186. Not overly happy about that, but what do you do.
Hope that you are feeling better up there, with daytime trashy TV and chocolate
Huge hugs mate

Woohoo NSW Won!
I can't bear the thought of looking at wedding pics to get them printed at the minute. After doing some of the albums I've had enough! One isn't even finished and I haven't even started on framed pics, thats just going to have to wait.
Urgh, better get back to the work....

Congratulations girl, I'm so happy for you! Better get my mum onto knitting. She said to me the other day "I got a new knitting mag, but there are really only baby things in it, nudge nudge". Paddy's mum is considering getting another pet or helping out at a youth refuge - when we asked her why she said "well, I don't have any grandchildren to play with". Argh!
Anyway, congrats again hon. Well done, I'm so excited for you - you have to tell us every single detail so I know what to expect eventually!
Is it too early for morning sickness to set in? Hopefully you won't feel too green!
Have you thought about names? Are you going to share them or keep them secret? What about the sex of Chess Jnr?
Sooo many questions!

I'm going to tell them that Laurette's bubba will be enough excitement for me this year! Plus, 'giving birth' to this thesis is really enough trauma for me to last a lifetime.
Get on here LAurette...I want more details!
