Amanda I hope this week is ok for you, I will be thinking of you. Wow I hope the poor bride from yesterdays wedding is ok it sounds like there were a few stuff ups. Im sure she is just happy its all over and is finally married hehe.

We are aiming to do a slideshow presentation but dont own a scanner, do you know some camera places charge $2 PER photo to put onto cd?? Considering we have chosen about 100 pics I dont think thats an option I wil have a chat to my new boss and ask if I can use the work scanner and will have to stay late scanning this week. I have a pic of neil as a little boy proudly showing his willy I cant wait to scan that one laugh.gif

QUOTE (Amanda Williamson @ Mar 5 2006, 07:40 AM)

I do know the poor bride was up til 2am this morning doing OOS, and was up late all week doing placecards etc. Man am I glad that I am organised. THe poor girl must have been sooo stressed! Overall, I think it looked pretty slapped together,

Anyway, sorry if I seem really bitchy or critical, but I'm just telling it how I saw it. There were some good ideas to nab, and some suggestions for avoiding issues on our day.

Hi girls,

Amanda,

I dont think you were being a biatch or overly critical you were telling it like it was and now you can look back at all the planning and organising you have done over the last twelve months and know your wedding will run smoothly.

Also no bride should be spending the night before the wedding doing OOS books or placecards.

Well i had my 2nd (and last) hens night last night!! It was fun!
There was more people at this one and they hired a friend to be a bartender for the night and everyone bought a bottle of spirit. I don't have any photos from this one to share, but they did make me a penis cake, which needed a little surgery, but eventually went flop anyway! Pretty funny! We played a few games and then most people left at around 11ish and we got a cab and went to a local pub and stayed there 'til just before 2am.

My BM's really looked after me and it was a fantastic night!!

Amanda, i don't think you are being a bitch either. Thanks for the tips.

I'm so glad you FINALLY got your parcel Michelle, now with any luck Laurette's shoes will magically show up this week too!

Gotta run, chat soon.

Good to see your second hens party was a success and you had a good time.

Enjoy this week and spoil yourself with some pampering.

Hi chickens!

Amanda, OH NO about that wedding - I feel really sorry for the bride! Like you said, glad that we are organised...

Well, I had my kitchen tea/hens last night and it was awesome; here is my report from General Wedding...

QUOTE
Hi girls

Well, I had my kitchen tea and hens night last night – it was great!

I was blown away and so humbled by the generosity and spirit of all my friends over the day and night.  I got some great photos with my BM’s and I will certainly be doing something about getting them printed up.

We started out with a Tupperware party for my kitchen tea, which was good.  We made Baileys with the demonstrator lady, and there was total sales of over $1500, so that’s an awesome amount.  Means that I get lots of free stuff too!  I look forward to playing with all my new stuff when we get home from our honeymoon!

I also got some great presents, which were totally unnecessary, but very much appreciated, and gorgeous!

We then went to a local pub for dinner, which was fantastic – we had booked out the whole beer garden area, so we just had heaps of room to do what we wanted.  I had a lovely tiara and wand to use, which was gorgeous.  We had the theme ‘a little bit of sparkle’ which I loved, everyone had gorgeous glittery tops on, which was fantastic.  I actually wore a new sleeveless top – I haven’t worn anything sleeveless for at least 5 years.  Must have been my tan trial that gave me the confidence!

We had lolly bracelets and for the skinny people, they were necklaces!  Most of us got various people to eat them off us throughout the night, but because it’s such a small town, everyone who was sucking at my wrist was someone that I knew, so it was OK!

My MOH made me a pińata, which was in a ‘phallic’ shape… so much fun.  It kept on falling down from the beam where she had hung it, but we got there eventually.  And man was it strong!  It didn’t want to break.  Everything in it was a melted and crushed up by the time that we got it open, laugh.gif

There was also a lot of sparkle stars in it, which was great fun.  They kept me entertained for at least an hour and everyone ended up with coloured stars in their hair.

We also had a mask with feathers in it, and if you said the word ‘hen’ then you had to wear it until someone else said it.  Was very good value.

We then went on to another pub and met up with the boys.  Glenn was about a million times drunker than I was, although still coherent, which was good – though he was swaying about a bit!  I was happy to see that he still had all his hair and eyebrows.

We kicked on to one more pub and I saw some people that I hadn’t for a long time, which was really good.  Allison (one of my BMs) and I got a taxi home when they called last drinks at 3am, so avoid the crush and I fell into bed about 3.30am.  Glenn was home and snoring so loud that the walls were moving, and one of our GM stayed with us too.  We have had a bit of a slow day today, cooking greasies for breakfast and laying around watching movies all day, and Marc has only just gone home now.

I took a lot of photos, and I love them all.  Which is rare for me!  I hope that you all love them as much as I do – I think that they show the mood of the night pretty well!

The wedding is speeding up on us and I really need to finalise our OOS booklets – I have had trouble deciding on music… so I need to do that now and get it up to the Minister ASAP.

I was a little worried about Glenn not being excited about the wedding, but since he got through his bucks night (well, whole bucks DAY) unscathed, he has loosened up and admitted that he was worried about it – and now he’s been talking about wedding stuff all day with Marc and I, so it’s great to hear him excited about the actual wedding.

Love,
Miss Chapman

Laurette I love your new sig especially the last pic with the girls and your date on their shirts.

One of these days I will learn how to do something creative too lol
---
Laurette (again) How did I not ever see your finished invitations? Im having a peek at your album and see them now, they turned out so beautful!! I think I must have been travelling when you posted about them. Well done chicky they look so good. Go so well with the choccie boxes.
Laurette
Thanks so much Michelle.

It's 11.10pm here and I just got back up out of bed - cant sleep. I must have rested too much during the day today I think.

Love the details in your sig now too!

That last photo of the girls there is much better in full size, it almost looks like they are dancing or something.

I also forgot to tell you about the chocolates. If you go to www.weddingchocolates.com.au and fill out the online order form, they will ship the chocolates within three days at the max, and that's only if they have to make what you need. I got my huge order in less than a week. I reckon you still have heaps of time to order them!

Are you still up now?

hi Michelle,

Sounds lovely....our bouquets are very similar. Im having a teardrop bouquet of white oriental lillies, pink lisianthus and pink blush singapore orchids with camellia leaves and berries ($119). The girls are having a posy style bouquet with the same flowers ($68), and flower girl the same again but a smaller version ($25). Mothers are having corsages of white singapore orchids, groom, ring bearer and groomsmen are having pink lisianthus corsages with camellia leaves; and fathers are having white lisianthus corsages with camellia leaves. Bridesmaids are also having white lillies in their hair, and flowergirl is having a crown of singapore orchids for hers.

Cake flowers are pink blush singapore orchids and pink lisianthus.

We are also hiring some hurricane lamps and silk flowers in urns from the florist for our reception.

Total for our flowers and hire was just over $600, but we get a 5% discount as the florist is affiliated with our reception venue. The same florist also does our table flowers (which the venue pays for), and they match the type of flowers and colours to our bouquets.

So......much.......pink!

Hi girls,

Well it has finaly stopped raining here after 5 days.

Michelle,

I loves your shoes.

All the flowers you girls are having sound beautiful.

One good thing about Amanda and Paddy going on their honeymoon the day after the wedding is I get to have all the flowers.

Chloe,

Where are you?????

I did purchase my wedding bouquet because it is so, so I just decided to sread the word. I now need help finding the right necklace to go with this piece. Thanks for your help with the favors. I purchased my bouquet in crystal from The designer through some free items in my order, which saved alot of money for me. I highly recommend them.

If you get one at least your bouquet will last for always.
Enjoy the info!

Hi Girls!!!

Sorry I haven't been in here all weekend and before you ask, no I have not been to Brisbane. YAY!@!!

I sat down this weekend and finished all our 100 OOS booklets (saturday) and spend Sunday doing the Guest tags - see my post in the general weddings section for more info:)

I'm so happy that stuff's out of the way cos once I go to Brissie, I can't access all my cutting and glueing stuff, as well as Ican't print from the computer.

LAURETTE - it should be illegal the amount of fun you had on your hens night! I've posted a reply in your thread - but I really can't get over that penis!!! Especially the AHEM colour variation at the tip.. ahem ahem. It looks very abused by the end... Ahem ahem ahem...

Michelle - THAN GOD YOU FOUND YOUR PARCEL!!! That's so fantastic to hear!!! And I love your shoes. Wow, that's an excellent package for your flowers!!! Ours are costing $430 all up but a friend of Future MIL is making them and she is only chargin the cost of the flowers from the market. Your package sounds perfect!!!

Girls - I thought all the chocolate posts were over? Clearly not. Humph!

Amanda - Your flowers sound gorgeous - and I read the word pink a few times too! It will be a lovely pink theme:) The flowers will look stunning next to those bridesmaid dresses! For $600 that is an amazing package - especially as it includes hire of the lamps etc. That's fantastic!

Kathy - Here! I'm here! As mentiond to Amanda - those flowers sound amazing. Congratulations (as they are actually your flowers, and you will lend them to Amanda for a day!) they will be beautiful in your house! laugh.gif

Michelebell - hope you had a fantastic day on Saturday!!! Can't believe some of us are already hitched!!!! Laurette! Carolyn! you're up next!!!

Well, warning girls, TMI coming right up!

George came over yesterday (code word for that time of the month wink.gif). I am so happy. This is perfect timing as it means I will be period-free on the wedding day, pmt free next week leading up to the wedding, and it won't affect my honeymoon birthday celebrations in Paris either! Also, my skin breaks out just before it arrives (which it did last week) and then clears up nicely for a couple of weeks which is perfect timing.

Thank you period god for thinking of me up there smile.gif

Ahh the joys of being a woman.

Lots of love to you all!
Chloe XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

Hi girls,

Chloe,

Well done on the OOs and guests tags bet thats a relieve they are now out of the way.

Also good to see george has visited you when he did perfect timing laugh.gif

Kaygee
Laurette, I'm off to check your hen's night thread. The pics look like fun!

I got surprised meeting up with some of my girlfriends on the weekend - they had a veil and some pressies for us including one for H2B - a coaster that reads 'My husband is the boss and has my persmission to say so'. biggrin.gif These girls won't be able to make it to the wedding in Perth and I'm really touched by the effort they went to.

Michelle - glad you've got your parcel! What is it with Aust post?? I never received a file our celebrant sent us which was all the info we needed to choose our ceremony stuff. She emailed it all to us so not such a bog deal, but is a bit odd..

I'm also having oriental lillies!! My bridesmaid and I are just getting small plain bouquets. As we're having a lunchtime wedding and fairly fancy dresses I wanted plain flowers and a small bouquet for my sister (she's tiny - size 8 is a little too large for her...).

I've also gotten craft-y and have made some placecards (well - bought some placecards from the markets and stuck silver flower stickers on them). We didn't make the invites or anything at all, so now I feel like I've made *something*.... Need to sort out OOS.. Actually we need to finalise our ceremony... ph34r.gif

I wonder how the early Marches went over the weekend??

Hehe - and Chloe, when we were picking a date we made sure that George doesn't cause much inconveniece - I'm on the pill so it was easy counting the weeks. smile.gif

Kathy - enjoy the flowers. Someone's going to get my bouquet (probably my mum) as we're not bringing it back on the plane. We're going to divide up the reception flowers.. Problem is I've got one extra person that I want to get flowers on the day, so maybe I'll order an extra one just for her (her husband died just after Christmas last year and I want her to have something.).
Dancing Girl
Hi girls, sorry I haven't posted for a bit. It's been crazy busy around here. Thank goodness it's the last week of work wink.gif

now, firstly....

YAY, BECK AND LAURETTE ....only 5 sleeps to go!!! OMG, how are you feeling?? I'm feeling so excited for you biggrin.gif

Laurette, your Hen's looked liked sooo much fun. The pictures are fantastic. I'm glad you had such a great night and it looks like your friends really looked after you - phallis and all laugh.gif

Beck, glad you also had a great 2nd Hens! Things sound like they're falling into place perfectly now that you are done there. Just keep that eating up, biggrin.gif I'm the same as you with my dress. It fits perfectly now, but only just. If I loose any weight at all, it will be too big, so I too am trying to make sure I keep the eating up! How is Mark feeling? I can't believe he has Bronchitis the poor thing. Did he go out on the weekend?

Michelle, I'm so glad your parcel arrived. You must feel so relieved to have your childhood memories safe and sound. Hopefully your boss will let you scan those photo's. $2 a photo sounds stupidly expensive. I also love your shoes, I don't think they look too pointy at all.

Karen, great news on getting a new make-up artist. And someone recommended by an i-do girl has to be a good thing. biggrin.gif Congrats also on making your placecards. It feels nice to have made something personally for your wedding doesn't it. How's the kitty going?

Chloe, you're too funny. I too get bad PMT the week before 'George' comes. George is due to visit me next week, so I'm happy about that too because like you, it will mean the week before and week after, I'll be 'George-free' biggrin.gif How is your dress going? Have you heard anything from the dressmaker or do you just wait until you get up there? Well done on also getting your OOS done . I've only finished 15 covers ph34r.gif Although I did start on the placecards on the weekend so I haven't been completely slack.

Amanda, it sounds like you have a sh!t of a week coming up sad.gif I'm thinking of you and hope it goes quickly wink.gif The wedding you went to sounded a bit disorganised. Hopefully the Bride was on too much of a high to notice the hiccups (and bad food) and enjoyed herself anyway.

Kathy, yay for you getting the flowers biggrin.gif I think my Mum will also claim my flowers on the night.

Michelle and Amanda, you're flower packages sound fantastic. Great value. I had a meeting with my florist this afternoon to go over final details. I'm having a trailing bouquet with lots of pale pink roses and singapore orchids. The girls are having round bouquets with Delilah roses (which will match their dresses) and singapore orchids. Jason's buttonhole will be a pale pink Orchid and the GM's will have roses. Unfortunately, the price is nowhere near as good as you girls. wink.gif She does beautiful work, but boy does she charge for it, ouch! Oh well, I'm only getting married once smile.gif

We had another disappointment this afternoon. Jase's Best Man rang to say he now can't make it to the wedding . He is in the Navy and works on the Submarines. He was due to be 'on land' for the wedding, but they have just advised his boat that their trial exercises were not up to scratch and they have to go out to Asia and do them again. He won't be back on land until 10 April sad.gif He's spoken to the seniors, but they've basically said sorry, but no. He is second in command on the boat, so if he's not there, the boat basically can't go anywhere. Bloody Navy mad.gif Jase is really disappointed as he has known the BM since school and they've always been close. sad.gif I'll have to give him big hugs tonight.

I just want to thank you girls for your advice on my guest issue. I'm going to leave it for a few more days then give them a call. wink.gif

hope everyone is well. biggrin.gif Beck and Laurette, hope you both have great lead-up weeks!

Jo

Kaygee
Jo I'm sorry to hear about your best man. It happened to us too and H2B was very disappointed. We've got another bestman now, but it did take him a while to choose. (Just told H2B who came in for a look at what I was up to and he adds his sympathy). Good luck with it.

Hello!

just quickly popping in to say that Mark is feeling lots better. He still has a bit of a nasty cough but he's definately improving.

Unfortunately, i have come down with something. I don't know what it is but i'm going to the doctors in about half an hour to try and find out. I have been sick since i woke up yesterday morning.

I will come back and properly read stuff and reply properly later, when my head isn't killing me.

Hi

Just popping in really quickly while waiting for connecting flights at sydney airport.

The wedding was gorgeous, the day was perfect and i would not have changed anything for the world!

I have already seen some photos that guests took and they are stunning, the photographers will be great!

Thankyou all so much for the thoughts and wishes, they were beautiful and you are all wonderful.

Am looking forward to relaxing in queensland and will put photos up as soon as i get a chance

Hugs and kisses from me

Dancing Girl
Congratulations MichelleBelle biggrin.gif I'm so glad you had a beautiful day and that everything went well. I'll be looking out for the photo's when you get back! Have a fantastic honeymoon and we'll read all about it soon !

Oh no Beck, you can't get sick now ohmy.gif (It wasn't from too much Penis cake on the weekend was it tongue.gif ). Make sure that doctor gives you some nice strong drugs to make you better before Saturday. I'm glad to hear Mark is getting better though.

Thanks Karen. Yes, you and your H2B would know exactly how it feels wink.gif Jase was racking his brains last night trying to work out who to ask instead. The funny thing (well, not ha-ha funny wink.gif ) is that I also lost a Bridesmaid a few months ago. One of my BM's fell pregnant and decided to pull out. We knew when I asked her to be BM that she was planning to get pregnant, but she fell quicker than she expected and was going to be over 7 mths pregnant at the wedding. She has also developed Sciatia (sp??) (back problem), so just didn't think she would be up to being a BM on the day. So, now we have each lost a person sad.gif

Only 4 more sleeps Laurette and Beck biggrin.gif

Jo.

magnetique
Hello all,

So Jo - is that how you will deal with it? Just go one person down each? I am having a (similar) experience with one of the BM's....she now has work commitments she cannot get out of and is saying she cant make it in time for hens but will 'definitely' be there for the wedding. I'll believe it when I see it.

PrincessBelle....great news that you had a fantastic day, I'm really happy for you. I might also have to take advantage of those free email facilities at Sydney airport en route to Langkawi to tell you all how it went....if I can drag myself away from the Krispy Kreme stall for long enough!

Chloe, good to hear George has been and gone....Aunty Flow will be visiting me RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HONEYMOON so I am doubling up on the pill to make sure her visit doesn't ruin the holiday (close eyes mum) ph34r.gif

Beck you poor darls, hope you are feeling better! Make sure they give you some class A antibiotics or something! I hope, as Jo said, it wasnt from too much penis cake. I'm having mine next wednesday and hope its not catching!!!!

Michelle - have you tried Kmart for scanning? They only charge about 39 cents a pic I think, and you can burn them all to disk in their self service kiosk, as I discovered the other day when printing our baby pic photos for our photo frame.

Anyway ladies, better get back to work. Only 3 more sleeps til my presentation... and only 4 more sleeps for the girls on this weekend! GOOD LUCK!!!!

amanda
Carolyn
Hi Girls, I've been such a busy little beaver lately.

Had my hens night on the weekend and have been doing lots of shopping/meeting with people and final organisations.

This is the last day that I'll probably be on i-do for a few weeks.

So congrats to the March girls who have already "crossed over" tongue.gif

And the best of luck for those who are about to take a huge personal step in the up-coming weeks.

Thanks for being so warm and sweet and for always making me feel welcome in here.

I hope you all have wonderfl days. Fingers crossed it doesn't rain (like has been predicted for my day) sad.gif

Hi Y'all

Whew - I met another I-doer who goes to the same dance school as me tonight (actually we've seen eachother many times before but didn't know we were in the same forum). She mentioned the sauna was getting really hot and I've only just stumbled out of there really really confused and disorientated. Better to stay in here methinks...

We did a performance of our bridal dance tonight to about 20 people who had come in for classes etc. Wow, we were so nervous but it was a good experience - good practice for the night. It went really well, despite the fact that I was very wobbly bobbly...

JO - How disappointing for your best man and for Jase! Disappointing and frustrating! You poor things. Also, good luck for your guest situation when you get around to that:)

Karen - your place cards sound great! Good luck with the OOS. I'm so glad we've finished those bast.. i mean babies. heehehe

Beck - REST!!! TAKE DRUGS!!! GET BETTER!!! So good to hear Mark has recovered some but its your day (Alex I didn't say that...tongue.gif - course its your day too) but seriously its YOUR day!!! Sending all my get better fast vibes your way - luckily you're closer so they'll reach you faster than when you were in Sydney.

Michellebelle - Congratulations!!! Wow! can't believe you're a mrs now!!! So great to hear it went perfectly smile.gif I hope we get to see pictures soon!!! Have a fantastic honeymoon!!!

Amanda - hehehe if there is one thing the pill is good for, its for skipping visits from George/Aunty flow/anyother code name out there! I can't really take the pill (get nauseous) but was seriously considering it just so it wouldn't inconvenience me during the wedding time. Sounds like you have it all under control though!!! Good luck for your presentation! GO GET EM TIGER!

Carolyn congrats on your hens night! I'm not having one and now that I'm reading about everone elses I'm wondering if I'm missing out? I definitely want some of the pinata penis action!!! Laurette - share your penis!!!

Laurette wow things must be really getting underway now!!! You must be so excited!!!!!

Carolyn Beck and Laurette - 3 SLEEPS TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GODDDDDDDDDD!!!!

HOPE YOU ARE ALL HAVING A WONDERFUL WEDDING WEEK!

Tonight, I am attempting to make the menus and table name cards for the reception. I've decided on vintage movie stars for the names of our tables. We have the following names:

Bette Davis
Judy Garland
Katharine Hepburn
Ginger Rogers
Grace Kelly
Charlton Heston
Audrey Hepburn
Clark Gable
Marilyn Monroe
Elizabeth Taylor
Marlon Brando
James Dean
Fred Astaire

I'm going to try to put pictures each star on the table names somehow. Off to go experimenting now!

Oh and I bought a wishing well from Kirsty in Brisbane - its 150 cm tall (which is almost as tall as me. Almost). I think that would look pretty next to my guest table tree thingy...

Hi girls hope your all well. It sounds like you are all very busy and being very productive.

Its good to hear you have all been blessed by the "george" God, my skin on the other hand has just had a bit of a freak out I hope it gets better soon dry.gif Im booked for a facial tonight after work and eye brow wax, time for a bit of work on the old girl. I am staying late at work to scan I dont think we will get it all done by friday night sad.gif I think we will be having a very late night on friday trying to complete the cd bon bons and music for ceremony and the slidershow etc before we leave as mums computer is crap.

Someone at work who didnt know I was getting married and just found out yesterday was shocked that I was so calm at work, I was like yeah thats why my skin has broken out and my hair is falling out rolleyes.gif Who else cant wait til the wedding is over??!!
magnetique
LOL Michelle, people keep asking me whether I am nervous. It seems an odd question....I'm actually in a state of what I am referring to as 'WEDDING ZEN' at the moment. Everything is so organised and complete that there is nothing else to worry about the wedding...at least til Monday when I start ringing around re: cars, suits, flowers, venue etc to do a last minute check on all the bookings!

At this stage, I'm more concerned about the presentation on Friday, but the good news is that heaps of people (including the more difficult audience members) have sent apologies. HURRAH!

Chat soon lovelies!

magnetique
Incidentally...Chloe, am I correct in recalling you have been to Singapore before?

If so, what would you recommend for a 48 hour stopover?

Anyone else with any suggestions please post as well!

Woohoo! I've hit 100 posts! I'm no longer a newbie!

Ok, ok, I'm getting back to work now!
Kaygee
Congratulations Princessbelle! Have fun on the honeymoon.

And wow Chloe. Sauna has gone crazy again. Don't people have weddings to plan and babies to prepare for/look after?

Michelle, I also can't wait for the wedding to be over.. I think I enjoy the anticipation, but now it just feels stressful and I want to be on the honeymoon. But I also can't wait to pick up kitty - he's staying with his mum at the breeder's until he's ready to leave. But I know that on the day I'll enjoy it all and be surprised at how fast it goes.

Amanda, good luck with your thesis defence! And what a relief that the difficult ones have declined. At my undergrad thesis presentation the difficult one turned out to be my supervisor blink.gif That was a bit annoying at the time..
I haven't been to Singapore recently, but when I was there I went to Sentosa Island and to the shops on Orchard Rd. Also Raffles Hotel and the area that was done up around there. Also congrats on feeling organised.. I hope I get there soon...

Kathy - I hope the shoe shopping went well.

Chloe - The table names sound great. I'm also not really having a Hen's night. I don't want to organise it on top of everyone else. Maybe if I can get people together a bit beforehand. And H2B has decided that he doesn't want a Bucks either.. And I'm dreading OOS by the way. I offered H2B a chance to put a little silver sticker on the placecards and he wouldn't do it. rolleyes.gif But I've decided that I really want the audience to have something as a few of them are getting pretty deaf and I know visual clues will help them follow what's going on.. If only we could put up surtitles like they often have at the opera!

Beck - hope you're feeling better.

Jo - hope the best man situation gets sorted. Does this mean you're even now?

Yay - am writing a long post (because I decided to be naughty and bludge on the couch instead of going to aerobics....) ph34r.gif
Kaygee
A long post and I forgot to do a proper update.. How distracted am I?

Anyway, I've got my wedding dress!! It's hanging up in the spare room. I kept offering to give H2B a peak last night, but he wouldn't take the bait.. Ah well, I guess I'm glad that one of us at least has self-control.. tongue.gif The next worry I have is getting it onto a plane.. I've been before and they've hung up jackets/suits for me, but I don't know what they'd say about the dress.. Have others (BecK?) lugged a wedding dress on the plane? I've done so with a bridesmaid dress, but I was told that they don't hang up stuff for passengers anymore...???

PMSL!!!!

Kathy - Congrats on buying your shoes!!!

*ahem* pics?

Karen - Congrats on picking up your dress!!!! How exciting - do you keep opening the zipper to have a look inside? I think I would! That will be me next week tongue.gif

Which airline are you flying with? I've taken a wedding dress (the MH Dress) on board virgin. They don't have anywhere to hang the dress so you have to basically take up a whole overhead cabin and lay the dress down (zip side up) carefully then watch it like a hawk and make sure no one else puts their bag on top of it. Mine was huge so I had to half it then lay it down. It survived alright - a bit creased but when you land, immediately unfold it and let it hang (hold it above and behind your head) the right way.

I think Qantas actually have places to hang jackets etc - probably not large enough for the full length of a wedding dress with train, but definitely worth hanging it there smile.gif

Amanda - Oooh presentation tomorrow... G'luck! There's a lot to be said about wedding zen. Yup been to Singapore many times. In fact, we are no longer going to Kuala Lumpur to visit my grandma (flight times didn't work out) and we are staying in Singapore for 2 nights instead. Which days will you be there? Might even bump into you there!!!

If you are going, I would HIGHLY recommend the spa on sentosa island. It is a paradise for adults. Its a maze of lagoons, austrian mud baths, little private spa villas, swimming pools of different sizes and shapes... If you get a massage or couples package there you have access to the whole spa for the whole day. We went there when we got engaged and it was a sublime xperienc. We did a couples package in our own private villa which included our very own waterfall pond, outside shower (very interesting experience) and 2 therapists who left in the middle of th 3 hrs for us to play in the water. Was very fun and relaxing!

We are staying at the Marriott Hotel which is RIGHT on Orchard Rd. Like, its above a large shopping centre (CK Tang). Shopping centres on every side to the hotel. Takashimaya (largest shopping centre on Orchard Rd) opposite - that's where Tiffany's and other stores are).

The Fullerton Hotel is supposed to be excellent as well (some say 6 stars?). Its sort of on the edge of water and very handy to some of the hotspots - Clark Quay & Boat Quay. We're not staying there only because I want to go shopping and the Marriott's the place to be for shopping smile.gif

I believe you can book cheaper accommodation on the internet - just google the hotel name and the different websites will pop up. I've used hotelclub.com many times before. At this late stage you can probably use need it now and lastminuterates. Good luck!!! Might even see you there!

Kathy you coming too? smile.gif

Michelle - good luck with all the scanning and slide show stuff! Alex and I have been up to at least 3 or 4am every morning this week doing stationery stuff before I go up Brisbane where there is no good printer. I think I'm going to have to bring all my equipment up with me anyway - glues and papers and guillotine. We're not going get it all done in time.. And I'm so sleeepppyyyy!

Wow, sorry for the long post - can't seem to get things said in a concise manner. Besides that would take effort and I've put all my effort into other stuff so can't diversity my effort.

Think I am going crazy.

hi everyone,

Just wanted to quickly pop in and tell you all that the doctor told me that i have a virus that effects my balance mechanism and makes me feel dizzy and off balance and very tired. There were no drugs he could give me and i'm supposed to be on bed rest until next tuesday! PPFFFTT!!!

I'm trying to rest as much as i can, we had our rehearsal last night and i over did it and came home exhausted and with a migrane, and i have a fair bit i have to do today, so, i hope i can get through everything ok.

At the moment they are predicting 33 for the day of the wedding which is very bad. I need you to all pray for me that it will be a fair bit cooler than that, otherwise, we're all going to die!

Kathy, Jade did a gorgeous job with my nails, i could not be happier!!!

I hope everyone else is going well, i should go back to bed now sad.gif

Beck
magnetique
Oohh Beck you poor thing! I'm sure we are all praying for you!

Mum - where are the pics? And what on earth did you get me for the hens night? I'll try and call you over lunch.

Chloe - thanks for the info re: Singapore. We really only have like a day and a half there, so the plan at the moment is to just see the city sights. I don't know if we will have time to get to Sentosa - how long does it take? We are just staying at the Holiday Inn near Chinatown - we will be there on 29 & 30 March (stopover en route to Sydney). We are flying via Singapore on the 19th (day after the wedding) but *hopefully* we can make the direct connection - I'm not hopeful, we have 50 minutes to change planes from the Sydney / Singapore flight to the Singapore / Langkawi flight. If worse comes to worse we have another night in Singapore!

Thanks again for your info, I might PM you later this afternoon with some more questions.

AW

Hi Girls,

Only two more sleeps for you Beck, Laurette and Carolyn biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Wow, it really is all happening now.

Beck, I'm sorry to hear that they can't give you any drugs for the virus you have. Best rest until Tuesday my @rse dry.gif At least you can have plenty of bed rest after Saturday - probably not kind the doctor had in mind tongue.gif Take care of yourself and try to rest as much as possible. And I'm pretseling for you to have a much cooler day than 33o!!

Amanda, good luck with your presentation tomorrow. I'm sure you'll do a fabulous job! biggrin.gif

Kathy, it sounds like you had heaps of fun shopping biggrin.gif Any chance of some shoe pic's??? I can't wait to hear about what you have got Amanda for her hen's. Amanda, I would be feeling very afraid laugh.gif

Chloe, congrat's on your dance class performance! This will make it a lot easier to do it on the night. How funny that you ran into an i-do member there. It's a small world.

Michelle, good luck in getting your bon-bons, slideshow etc printed on Friday night. Are these the last jobs for you to do??

Karen, congrats about the dress. It's very exciting when you bring it home isn't it. I can't stop looking at mine!

Chloe, that spa in Singapore sounds gorgeous. We are only stopping over for one day there, otherwise I think I'd drag Jase there for sure. Hmmmm, spa treatments, hmmmmm...(insert tune) "this is one of my favourite things".

We are naming our tables by wine styles (shiraz, chardonnay etc). Since we are wine lovers and our cake is incorporating that (grapes etc), I thought it would be something to suit us. I love your vintage stars theme idea Chloe. Were you able to attach pic's??

Update on our Best Man situation. Unfortunately, it doesn't make it even numbers because when my BM dropped out a few months ago, I replaced her with another good friend (not knowing the Best Man wouldn't end up being able to make it). So, now the Best Man can't go, we still have uneven numbers wink.gif Jason has now asked one of the other Groomsmen to be Best Man, and has also asked another friend to be a Groomsmen. So we are back to even numbers again. We just need to get him measured up for the suit etc.

I had another blow yesterday afternoon. My Grandmother rang to tell me that my Great Aunt (my Grandmothers sister) had had a heart attack on Monday. They had to fly her down to Sydney from Coffs Harbour to operate, so she is currently recovering in hospital. Thank goodness she will be O.K, but won't be able to make it to the wedding. I'm just glad she is going to be fine. She just has to have a lot of rest. It's very scary because my Grandmother had a scare with her heart a couple of months ago and is now on regulating medication.

Speaking of ill health, Amanda, how did your funeral go? Hope you are feeling O.K.

Only one and a bit more days of work for me. I have been working my little butt off trying to get everything done, but for every tick off my 'to do' list, another job gets added to it sad.gif Hopefully I won't have to come in on the weekend or next week.

Carolyn, best of luck for Saturday. I hope you had a great Hen's. I know you won't have time now, but when you get back, post us some pic's.

Laurette, hope your lead up is going well biggrin.gif

Mum....I'm sure everyone can imagine why I don't want you there!

Chloe - do you know the name of the spa place? I mentioned it to Paddy and we think it sounds fab....so we are now tossing up between a day of sightseeing in the city or a day at Sentosa. All depends on how many spas we have in Langkawi!!!

Jo, the funeral was as good as those things can be I guess....it was a fitting tribute to a lovely man.

Chat to you all soon,

Amanda

Kaygee

Beck, I hope you're feeling better soon!! Very very soon.

Jo, sorry to hear about your Great Aunt. It's good that she's doing well though. Good to hear the the GM and BM situation has worked out.

Chloe, wow I defintely missed that part about Sentosa! I was a grotty backpacker when I stayed with friends there so we didn't do anything fun and posh like that!

Phone calls, phone calls, emails and emails.. That's what my Things To Do list looks like...
