OK I promise to read through properly and do a proper catch up soon, we've been so busy lately and I can't remember where I'm up to

A few dramas.. The makeup lady has cancelled on us (well as good as - she can do us at 5:30am... for our 11am wedding..). So I'll have to find another makeup person because there's no way I'll attempt that one on my own...

Still haven't emailed the florist and we're still without a best man.. OMG.. And it's a little less than a month now until our wedding.. We have found a reading for the ceremony though and have decided upon vows etc, so there's been one step forward and two back this week....

The kitten's colour is called 'blue' but is a kinda silver grey and a deeper grey face. I can't wait to get him home! And my geeky H2B forgot to bring his camera! So no pics yet..

Well quick update from me - I have no news I lead a dull life. I had to pay our rates today - ouchies thank the Lord I have a job now

Neil is gone and it is stinkin hot here tonight I hope he is doing ok. I dont think they will get pushed out field after a soldier up here died last year from heat exhaustion, I doubt the army could afford another court case like that.

I am keeping busy this week, I have another game of netball tomorrow night (womens this time not mixed) wednesday I have an optomertrist apt after work, Thursday I have a CPR course after work and friday I have a hairdresser appt after work. I have found a beauty salon at the complex I work at, and heard they do good brazillians, so am contemplating doing the deed. Can I ask, do you lose all dignity having one done?

I just checked the weather channel. at 9:30pm its still almost 30 degrees with humidity of 80% (that means its really bloody hot and humid) with late gusty storms expected. Hahaha poor Neily boy sleeping in a tent this week I really am a sympathetic wife to be aren't I ? LOL

I had a shite day yesterday....one of my good friends from work, whose house we were having our wedding pics at, passed away suddenly yesterday. He died of a heart attack - despite being the fittest 60 year old I know. He lived for his beautiful garden (complete with grecian columns, a rose walkway, and an iris lawn) which he kindly offered to us for wedding pictures. He was such a spirited man - he was always offering comments on fabric and colour swatches, and brought me in several kinds of pink flowers to get ideas early on. He even offered for us to have our reception at his place if we had problems with our current venue! I'm a bit lost here, and to make things worse I have to take over his teaching load starting at 9am this morning. He was really enthusistic about the wedding (he taught both of us many years ago, and knew us well) and I was so excited he was coming.

It kind of puts things into perspective really, doesnt it?

No news on wedding stuff. The H2B is heading back from Wollongong (won't be home for another 45 mins) and I have to leave tomorrow morning at 7am to get to Newcastle.. I swear 2 engineers together just doesn't work... We end up just passing each other in the night sometimes..

I met the Perth tech sales rep today and he found out I was heading to Perth in a couple of weeks time. He told me he could line up a few customer meetings for me Not bloody likely I guess it means work would pay for my flight, but I'm already booked with frequent flyers and it's not like I'll be faffing around with my feet up looking for things to do during the two weeks.

So sorry to hear of your loss Amanda, that's so sad

Karen, i can't beieve they weretrying to give you meetings to go to when you are going there for your wedding!! So bloody cheeky!!

Well girls, in less than 20hrs i will be heading out the door to go catch my plane!!
Bit frightning really but all is pretty organised except for last minute things. Mark came home with a fever and rotten throat today which kind of freaked me out but he's gone to bed now, the fever appears to have gone down and his throat isn't as bad, so hopefully he should be fighting fit for tomorrow, freaking office bugs

Not much else to report really. I will try my damnedest to pop in again tomorrow and say my goodbyes and fingers crossed my parents dial-up will be working enough that i can keep on updating with final things once i get there.

I haven't posted here before, but I just wanted to pop in and say it's March!!!!!

Lucky us

After all those months of planning, decisions, organising and hard work we finally get to enjoy our turn!

Our wedding is in 3 days, OMG I can't believe it. I think I'm organised. I keep thinking there must be heaps to do, but there isn't. Today all I have to do is go and see the restaurant with the seating plan.

Tomorrow is the rehearsal and pick H2B's suit up and the digi video cam we're hiring. I'm also dragging H2b in for a brow shape tomorrow, should be funny, he's never been waxed anywhere before............I have warned him it will hurt.

Friday will be a day of relaxation with hair cut and colour in the morning, lunch with my best friend who has travelled to be here, and then manicure and pedicure in the afternoon. Then we'll be having dinner with family and close friends.

It's all so surreal!!!!

I think subconsciously I haven't ventured in here because I feel that I'm a little unorganised.

I've made a list of things to do, but it seems like there's still so much that has to be done, and I'm feeling a little overwhelmed.

This morning I even began to feel a little panicky which is unusual (well not the stress bit) but I've been so calm about the wedding the whole time, perhaps surpressing some feelings that I feel it's bubbling over now.

Michelle, you've been a busy little bee by the sounds of it. Running here and running there! Poor Neil. That heat and humidity sounds disgusting. Its days like that where you are almost glad to go to work because of the air-con. Oh, and speaking as an experienced "Brazilian-er" (NOT), I was a bit iffy about feeling slightly 'vulnerable', but it was like going to the doctor. They've seen it all before and it's just a job, so I wasn't embarrassed at all. Go for it I say!

Nothing new/exciting to report for me. Now that I have finished printing the OOS covers, I've started putting the roses, ribbon etc on them. 15 down, 75 to go Only 8 days of work left for me (7 in about 1-2 hours ). This is sometimes very exciting - no explanation needed and sometimes scary - so much to freakin' do I've got most of my RSVP's in, so I should really start of the placecards. Hopefully this weekend. I'm also taking my little sister (who is junior BM) to the dressmaker to get her dress altered as it is way to big at the moment.

Laurette, how long did it take to get your chocolates from when you ordered them? It just occurred to me that I still haven't ordered mine I will pick them up, so no postage issues, but I'm guessing they still need time to get the order ready???

All seems to be pretty good here, i've checked on the flowers this morning and it looks like they didn't get too squashed in transit, so, i'm happy about that. It was also nice to have a look at them again, since i posted them back in late Janurary.

I will be trying on my dress later .

Mark is not well i thought it was just a passing vurus so i didn't panic, but now i'm sure it's at least a chest infection, possibly worse, he snored all last night (he never snores unless he's sick) and he was moaning in his sleep. I really don't like the sound of that cough he has either i'll be so annoyed with him if it affects the wedding or honeymoon. I'd better drag him to the doctors today.

I just tried on my dress for the last time before the day and it fit perfectly!!!
I could tell that i've lost a little weight since i last tried it on, but it's still all good! I wouldn't really want to loose much more though, as since it's a strapless, i need boobs and hips to keep it up!!

I couldn't believe it though the dress was so beautiful!! I'd kind of forgotten just how pretty it was!! I was so silly to ever have any doubts about it!! I'm going to look like a princess!!

I didn't end up taking mark to the doctors today, as he has perked up lots, he still has a bit of a nasty cough, but he has managed to convice me he's getting better.

i'll just keep on feeding him cold and flu stuff 'til it's all gone.

We have a best man!! Yay! A decision was finally made and he phoned his brother last night. I'm a bit relieved he chose his brother over his boss. Not quite sure why, but I guess I've only ever known his boss as his boss, whereas H2B was good mates with him prior his promotion. I really like both guys, but I probably feel more comfortable around his brother.

Work is sooo busy and I just can't get into it. I keep obsessing over the wedding, the new kitten (check out my new avatar! - as close a pic as I could find to the real thing) and my other secret obsession (which H2B knows about but nobody else) - babies. I'm so clucky it's painful.

I hope Mark is feeling better Beck. My H2B has been complaining of a sore throat lately and he's hit the multivitamins. I hope it doesn't get worse.

Oh and makeup drama continues. I can either get makeup done at 6am or find someone else... I flooded Perth makeup artists with emails/phone calls and hope to flush one out soon that is available on the Sunday morning...

Karen, I am so glad to hear about your success with the florist, best man and make up artist! Now that you have all that sorted, things will flow really well! I know what you mean about the work! I was like that all week – so much to do, but I couldn’t concentrate, couldn’t get organised… and then today I went like a steam train and blitzed it all. And you wouldn’t believe it, but we can now check our work email from home – so I think that I am expected to do that while I am on holidays… bugger.

I couldn’t believe that I got out of work tonight – I swear that this week has been the quickest ever, and today the quickest day ever. I thought that it would drag on forever and ever for sure!

Oh well… seven weeks holidays, here I am come and take me! Yipee! Glenn rang me as he was walking home from work to tell me he was on holidays and I was like ‘shut up, I still have another hour to go! Get home and do some cleaning up!’

So tomorrow is going to be a pretty big day I reckon! We have to be up early, as it’s Glenn’s nephew’s birthday, so we have to take his present to him early. Then we have to visit Glenn’s grandmother. Then once Marc (groomsman) arrives from Wagga, and drops his gear off, then we have to pick up the best man, Cameron, and I have to take them all out to the golf club for the start of Glenn’s bucks day (praying tonight that he comes home intact with all his hair – except his back hair, they can have that). Then I have to come home and go to FMIL’s house to organise for the kitchen tea. Got a bit of cooking and stuff to do with that.

At some stage I also have to go and pick up my BM’s shirts that I am getting made for them, and give them a tub and dry them. So much nicer once they have been washed.

Then about 1pm I plan to come home and have a bit of a rest for half an hour (wanna take bets on whether or not that will happen??) then have a shower and get ready for the kitchen tea… have that… go to the pub for dinner and the ‘hens night’… so that’s my day.

I will probably be asleep by about 5pm! He he

I have the psycho biatch week from hell coming up - a funeral and my final thesis presentation - but once Saturday is here I can let my hair down!

Well, the wedding yesterday was interesting to say the least. The bride looked fantastic (she had a similar sort of dress to mine) and the BM's were gorgeous too (a pinky/orange long raw silk gown, very nice). However, that is where the nice stuff ended....the minister was crap - he speed read the service and wasnt very personable. He didnt even prompt people for the responses, which led to really half assed attempts from the congregation. Also, we arrived at the Church at 2:45 (3pm wedding) to find others waiting in their cars out the front and the church all locked up. Apparently both the minister and ushers / helpers were extremely late, so they were running around trying to get ready with us all hanging at the back of the church.

The weather was foul, which didnt help, but it was really windy - lucky for the poor girls their hair stayed in place. The worst though is that I think they were expecting a bit more from their reception venue - the food was SHITE. I would have been upset if it were me. It was a smorgasboard / buffet, but the selection was pretty rough. The bon bons were also odd - pieces of bread (???) with their initials baked onto them in pastry dough. Not too sure about that one!!!!

They also approached the reception in an odd way - they carried around entree for over an hour, then had a weird sort of cake cutting thing, then about another half hour or so later they got someone up to introduce, say grace and announce the main. The upshot of it all was that people were waiting around for AGES (i.e. 5pm - 7:30pm) to really know what was going on. We are running a few of the speeches etc early on and throughout to alleviate this. There were also some drunken yobbo rellies heckling by the time the speeches were on because they had become sozzled in the wait!

I do know the poor bride was up til 2am this morning doing OOS, and was up late all week doing placecards etc. Man am I glad that I am organised. THe poor girl must have been sooo stressed! Overall, I think it looked pretty slapped together, well, even H2B made comments to that effect so it must have been bad (he then praised all the hard work us girls had been doing). I think all of our efforts (thats all of us on here) will ensure a seamless day with, most importantly, no stress for us - we can concentrate on the day at hand!

One good idea though, which I'm going to pinch, is that they had a lovely photo frame with a nice pic of them and then some baby photos of them in it, and it was placed on a table with their guest book. I thought that was a lovely touch, so will be chasing FMIL for some nice pics this week.

Anyway, sorry if I seem really bitchy or critical, but I'm just telling it how I saw it. There were some good ideas to nab, and some suggestions for avoiding issues on our day.
