Righto then chickens, this is where I am up to.
I am sorry if I don’t mention everyone in this post, just trying to get an update… up!
We met with the minister on Tuesday night after we got home from Wollongong, and have finalised all our ‘counselling’ and ‘preparation’ which is good. And you know what’s cool? On the graphed results, we scored above the BEST couple scenario, in all sections other than religion, since we aren’t real religious, which is OK – the minister didn’t mention it, and he certainly doesn’t push where it’s not wanted.
We had to answer all these questions and do activities and stuff, and we scored so high, it was great! So happy with it all! He said that he can tell that we are very in tune, and communicate really well.
We then had a list of all the areas that we were surveyed on, and we had to pick three that we thought were strengths, and three that we though needed work – and we both picked all the same, which is awesome – he said that he’s never seen that before – so I was so happy about that! AND, as the work areas, the ones that we picked were the ones that we scored lowest on on the chart, so it’s awesome to know that we are thinking along the same lines – such a relief! I cant believe how easy it all was.
Yesterday, I asked one of my beautiful friends, Carolyn to do a reading for me in the church at the wedding, and she said YES and she’s so excited! She was my number 4 pick for BM, and I should have had her instead of Glenn’s sister, but she understands, so it’s cool. Now Glenn just has to ring his mate, Trevor and ask him if he will do the other, and that will be excellent.
We organised the service with the minister, so now I am right to organise the OOS, the placecards and the menus. I have to do the OOS draft up by Saturday to drop up to the minister for him to check, which will be good, and then he said that he will have that back to me by the end of the weekend.
But menus and placecards, I want to have organised by the end of the weekend. We’ll see how that goes!
I have also booked in my trial tan for tonight, so I will report back on how that goes! I will have to find some really loose gully clothes to go in, as I have never had it done before, so I don’t know how it will look. I am also getting my eyebrows waxed, so that will be excellent – they are long overdue, and will make me feel so much better, I reckon.
Wow, just writing this has made me happier! Yay!
I have had trouble thinking about the wedding for the last week and a half since all this happened with Grandie, which is time that I cant afford this close from the wedding.
I cannot believe that I only have seven days of work to go and then I am off for a week, and then it’s the wedding. The suspense is killing me… argh.
I have just drunk a 750ml pump water bottle filled with chocolate milk and now I feel SOOOOO sick.
Chloe, still no package in the mail, but I am hoping that it turns up today, should do, all going to plan.
Kathy, awesome news about the dress! Well done – I cant wait to see pics. My mum is also wearing green – although hers is more of a pistachio green. That’s what I am calling it, anyway.
Beck, like I said we also have people bringing kids and in the end, yes I did feel like a hypocrite, I just hope that I don’t even notice that they are there. I just know that there is going to be local people who have kids whinging about it, because their kids didn’t get to come and I don’t even like these people that I know will whinge, so I am not particularly caring. I figure that I will be having a happy day regardless, so then the mothers can deal with it if there are flare ups, except that then you have the problem that Glenn’s mother will probably be whinging the most of everyone. Pfft, I’m over it.
I am rambling, I know.
SO anyway, we went to Wollongong.
The funeral was a lovely service – really really nice and then they had some nibbles and cups of tea and I got to see lots of family that we haven’t seen for ages. I felt terrible because I didn’t even know that my stepfather had a cousin who was blind. Weird – but he was lovely, and it was nice to be able to introduce Glenn to everyone – although again, as nice as it can be for a funeral.
So anyway, from there we all got in the procession and went down the highway to the cemetery, and had the burial service which was just for immediate family.
I could have strangled the sister of my uncle who was there (not my aunty, on the other side of the family) when her mobile phone went off – how could you not think to put it on silent or turn it off??? So cranky with her.
Anyway, once that was done, we went back to Gerringong, my cousin and his wife were with us, and we went to the pub and all had a few drinks and bets on horses for Charlie, (my grandfather’s nick name) and it was hilarious because this race we all had a horse in got let go early before all the horses were in the gates and some of them ran off without riders, then they had to be scratched because they were buggered, which was hilarious! It was half an hour of screams, squeals and laughter.
So there was just our immediate family at the pub, and then back to my aunty’s for dinner and it was good. It was a good night to be see everyone and although the circumstances were not the best, it was good to see everyone before the wedding, and I also met my cousin’s boyfriend, who is coming to the wedding. They have been together for like, 2 years – that’s how long it’s been since I saw her! He is really nice, and a good golfer too, so he and Glenn hit it off straight away! And because they are both funny blokes with an excellent ability to bull shit, they got along even better.
So they are all staying at the same motel the night of the wedding, which is great, and that whole motel is booked out with wedding guests, so my Aunty Bev is organising the ‘room party’ for afterwards which will actually be in the courtyard at the motel, and she told us that we can come, but we don’t have to bring anything, whereas she is going to be giving everyone else a list. We only live around the corner, so apparently if we don’t go, she’s going to be coming to our house.
Funny lady – I guess you had to be there, but it was great.
As none of my family coming up for the wedding can come the week before for the hens and bucks, we are playing golf the day after the wedding before the BBQ lunch, which will be fun. Everyone is bringing their sticks and we are teeing off about 8am, which will be good. I cant wait. My cousin Kate plays, so it’s the first time that I will be able to play with another girl! Yay! Also means that I don’t have to worry about any of the preparation for the lunch – I can just come back to the clubhouse and it will all be ready! He he.
Overall, other than it being a funeral, it was good to see people, and they helped me look forward to the wedding a bit, if that makes sense at all.
Shoes still haven’t arrived… not happy about that at all really. I just don’t know what I am going to do. Deb shoes must be found today and see if they fit, and then if they don’t, I can have a look in Wagga tonight.
I will also be picking up Glenn’s ring tonight, so I am going to be sneaky and mark that off the list.
Scott’s Page Boy suit arrived, and he’s proud as punch to wear it – he LOVED it – I couldn’t have been happier with his reaction, even if I’d tried. He got straight in it and swanned around, which of course meant that Brittany, the little b**** (oh, did I say that aloud??) wanted to try her dress on, which was a surprise, so she put that on without ripping it and was fascinated by the crystals on it. So then of course Glenn’s mother said ‘I told you it would all be alright’ and I could’ve slapped her. Soon enough though she got jack of it and went all sulky and wanted to take it off. So that was the end of that and I got to say ‘I told you so’ back to FMIL. She makes me mad….

but what can you do.

Amanda, I think that your jewellery looks amazing. I love it. Like I said, I have very similar earrings, just that mine are round. They will match my new bracelet perfectly I think.
I also spoke to my friend Alison about borrowing her hair pins, and she was happy with that which was a relief. We actually had lunch yesterday which was great, as we hadn’t really see each other for ages. Although she didn’t bring the pins with her, I will get them off her over the next few days. Her baby is due in 7 weeks, so I hope that we are back from wherever we honeymoon before it arrives! I also have to go and have a look at her house, as they have done a heap of renos prior to baby arriving, and they are getting a new car… cant wait until that’s us.
Speaking of things arriving, that credit card offer that I accepted, it hasn’t come in the mail yet, so I hope that it does soon! I got an ezi buy catalogue the other day and there are things in it that I want to get for the honeymoon.
Glenn also paid out one of his cards and was thinking about cancelling it, but I have convinced him to hold onto it until after the honeymoon, as a security net. I have it, so that he cant use it, and I dont look like a Glenn Chessor, so I doubt that I will be able to use it either.
Chloe, great news about the dressmaker. Hopefully your shoes will get to you today so that you can take them to the fitting on Monday. She sounds great if she has managed to get the corset to fit so close to your body in the first go without measurements. What excellent news.
Does anyone know whether or not you can get sleeping tablets over the counter at the chemist? I haven’t had more than about 5 hours sleep a night (broken, not all at once either) a night for the last week, and it’s starting to wear me down.
Michelle, your post was funny! I am glad that your work is going well, and I am sure that the dancing will come together, you just need to practice a lot in the next 3 weeks! Great news about being able to get the time off, too.
Jo, well done with the OOS booklets. I have 90 to make also, but still have to get the all clear from the minister as I mentioned. Oh, and draft them… we decided on readings though.
I got an inability yesterday (5 days late) from my boss, and it really upset me. I actually cried, which I didn’t expect. But I guess you get that. I was really hoping that he and his wife would come – they missed my 21st and our engagement party – they must be trying to tell me something, I think.

7 days of work to go…
Well, that was a bit of a marathon post!
Beck, I cant believe that the time has come for you to pack!

madness! I really hope that you can log on while you are in Melbourne!
Oh, and on top of all that, not UTD this month either.
