Hi girls thanks for your well wishes. I got a call this afternoon and got offered the job. I really am sooo relieved, its like a huge weight off my sholders. Even if my fiance is now mad at me for lying too bad he can go and get stuffed surely it wasnt a bad lie to tell him. I just didnt want to get him too excited about my prospects to just be dissapointed if I didnt get the job. Grr I cant win.
Laurette
CONGRATULATIONS MICHELLE!

That is such fantastic news babe - I am SO SO SO SO SO SO happy for you!

This is the one that you wanted with the selection criteria, isnt it?
--M--
Aww thanks Laurette. Yep it was the full time med recept job that had the selection criteria. So I need to thank you heaps for helping me out. I will send you half of my pay, only joking cool.gif

Is it wrong that I want to hit N over the head with a frying pan and get in my car and leave him. I can't believe he is mad at me for this. After all I have been thru getting a fricken job.
Kaygee
Congrats Michelle! Well done!

And give him a wallop with the frying pan from me tongue.gif

I got worried about pre-wedding narkiness with my H2B and one of my friend's told me that she hit her hubby with the frying pan the night before the wedding! They're happily married ten years later so it must've worked biggrin.gif

beckabunny
Congratulations Michelle!!

Hooray! Champers for all!

HAPPY 1 MONTH 18th MARCH GIRLS

YAY! 4 weeks to go!

3 weeks for me

2 weeks until the hens night!

Michelle B, there is only 2 weeks to go for you! Yipee!
Dancing Girl
YAY MICHELLE biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif I'm sooooo happy for you biggrin.gif That is fantastic news. When do you start? Silly Neil for being angry wink.gif You definitely have our permission to give him a wack with the frying pan - or maybe a little tap because you don't want him to have an ugly lump on his head at the wedding laugh.gif

HAPPY ONE MONTH TO GO 18 & 19 March girls biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Very exciting!!!

MichelleBelle, I must have a sensitive face because unlike the other girls, it does hurt me when I get my eyebrows waxed (either that or I'm a wus laugh.gif ). I find getting my legs waxed quite relaxing (weird, I know) but not the eyebrows. I also have very sensitive skin, so when I get them done it does take 2 or 3 days for the redness and skin to settle down. So, if you normally have very sensitive skin, maybe don't get it done the day before.

Speaking of waxing, we were discussing brazilians in here a couple of months ago and I've finally plucked up the courage and booked in for one! I found a place that seems to do quite a few of them and have my first one next week. I will then make a booking for a couple of days before the wedding for a 'tidy up' laugh.gif I'm a bit nervous, but I think it'll be worth it to see the look on H2B's face tongue.gif

Kathy, best of luck shopping. Can't wait to see what you get biggrin.gif

Jo
xx
--M--
Jo - good luck for the big Brazillian. Yowch.

I start the job on Tuesday smile.gif

Good news , N and I are mates again after a bit of a fight and a big cry (me) we made up and he took me out for Coldrock last night to make me feel better.

--M--
I forgot to say, mum has been at the florists today and has also organised my new flowers, Im getting fresh flowers wub.gif I am waiting for the florist to email me a pic, I honestly dont care (well, within reason) what they look like, so long as they look REAL blink.gif ph34r.gif IYKWIM..

She also told me Im getting white chair covers and choc brown sashes for the chairs which will look great Im happy about that.

28 days to go!!
beckabunny
Ok girls, i have 100% finished my OOS's!!!!

I followed your opinions and outlined the butterflies with purple glitter. I have to admitt, it does look heaps better this way. I decided not to fully colour them in as i thought it might look a bit heavy IYKWIM.

Take a look:

What do you think??

Also have 100% finished menus but still have upto 3 place cards to do.

Today i got my yellow gold engagement and wedding rings rhodium plated to turn them into white gold!!

I love love love them!!

This is a pic of my redone E-ring. The wedder is the same except it's all channel setting diamonds, no central stone. This will match all my silver jewelery for the wedding day much nicer than the yellow gold, which would have really stuck out!!

What do you think?

--M--
Beck - your OOS looks beautiful I can see you have put in so much effort - it has paid off you have done a fantastic job wub.gif

And your engagement ring is gorgeous too - your a lucky gal smile.gif
Laurette
Oh wow girls!

You have all been so busy in here!

Beck, the OOS looks great - and I love your E ring! But then, I am a bit partial to white gold...

user posted image

I dont that I have posted my rings in this thread, just in the other one...

I cant wait until I get to wear my w ring! I CANT WAIT! So much that every now and again I sneak them on.

Michelle, I am so so glad to hear that you and Neil are friends again - surely he just has to be happy that you have a job that you want! Any fight that ends with icecream has to be good!

Jo, that's strange about your eyebrows! I have VERY sensitive skin, but strangely never have a problem with wax, except that I have been burnt on my bikini line, but that wasnt my skin's fault!

Dont be scared of the brazilian - you will be fine. smile.gif

Chloe, hope things are going well in Brisvegas - for you too Kathy!

Well, I probably wont get back on here until Wednesday now, as we leave this afternoon for Wollongong. We are staying with some of my cousins, which will be good. I am looking forward to seeing them.

xx
Laurette
--M--
Argh Laurette I have told you before you need to post a warning before showing your rings - they cause blindness!! wub.gif laugh.gif I love your rings you are so lucky to have nice sparkly bling bling. I hope you have safe travels, I will miss you heaps sad.gif Come back soon me love *sob*
Dancing Girl
Congratulations your finishing your OOS beck. They look great. I love the butterflies with the sparkle biggrin.gif Only a few more placecards to go, then your finished. That would be a huge relief for you. I love your newly "whited" e-ring too. It looks very pretty.

Michelle, I'm glad to hear that you and Neil kissed, made-up and had some ice-cream biggrin.gif Ice cream fixes nearly everything (chocolate fixes the rest smile.gif ) Silly boy for getting you all upset over nothing. Great news on the florist. With fresh flowers, I don't think you can go wrong. biggrin.gif The chair covers also sound lovely. Finally, some things going right for you biggrin.gif

Laurette, your rings are bling, bling!! I love them. No wonder you can't wait to wear them both. I keep sneaking into Jase's wardrobe and trying on my wedder too ph34r.gif Can't wait to wear it.

While we are on rings, here is a picture of Jase's wedder. He wanted something a bit different and with some bling. He couldn't find anything he liked, so designed this based on the e-ring that I bought him last year. It looks great on him, and nobody will miss that he's married, that's for sure, LOL.

I've been printed OOS covers most of the day. 50 down, 40 to go wink.gif Not the funnest job, but has to be done.

Chloe, hope you are going well in Brissie.

Laurette, we'll be thinking of you while your gone. Drive carefully and I hope things go O.K.

Jo.

--M--
Just bumping this baby back up the top where she deserves to be.

Jo - Jaces ring is bootiful. Its great the guy get s a bit of bling too cool.gif You will probably be nearly finished your OOS now, hope its all going well for you.

Um I think there is a mistake with my ticker - surely I still have a few months to go and not just 26 days?? anyone?? ohmy.gif ohmy.gif
beckabunny
Michelle, Laurette and i are down to a mere 19 days! So i think that's even scarier!!

Does anyone know what ever happened to Tamara?? She was supposed to be getting married on the 11th too.

Laurette and Jo, i lurve you bling!! I've started to get into princess cut rings, but with my hands being so dainty, it's probably best i stick to what i've got.

My first hens is this weekend!! I can not believe it!! We leave for Melbourne in 8 sleeps!!

This has all happened so quickly!!

Carolyn, not much time left for you!! How are you feeling?

Beck
--M--
19 days, now that is scary ohmy.gif not long til you leave for Melb. Did you get to Melb much for the planning or have you done the majority of planning via phone and email too? it sucks doesnt it
beckabunny
I've managed to do most of my planning on my trips down to Melbourne, but i have to agree it totally sucks. I'm stuck here 2000km away until 10 days before the wedding, unable to do anything, unable to really control what's really going on down there, and that's pretty stressing!

I can't wait 'til i'm down there. I am really missing everyone at the moment.

HELLLOOOOOO LADIES!

Wow! Once again you have all been super busy havent you! cause I was busy with the Cellar tea on Saturday I didn't have a chance to come in here and yahoo about only one month left to go!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!

Michelle - well done, you legend! I knew you would get it. was there ever any doubt?

Chloe and Laurette - you girls are insano! Nice baubles though, I'm starting to reconsider mine. I want to pull them out and have another think about them this weekend. I just love those earrings chloe!

Beck - good work on the OOS....I finished mine last week and man was I relieved. Only the bomboniere to go, which I will do this weekend and take a pic for you all to see. I like the ring too Beck, I'm a bit of a white gold fan myself....the only downer is that you always need to re-rodium them.

Jo - love Jase's bling. You should see Paddy's w-ring. It is gigantic. It is a z+2 size! It is this huge chunk of gold. I'm sure I could make a pair of earrings with it!

Anywhoo, havent heard from mum yet, so hopefully she is having some luck.

Cellar tea went well...we managed to finally clear our backlog of crap Ebay wine, and managed to get about 30 or so new bottles of nice stuff. It was a great night as well, a real success. Here is a pic of us towards the end, we were sooo tired!

Hi Girls,

hope you all had great weekends! biggrin.gif

Beck and Laurette...19 days ohmy.gif ohmy.gif Now that's just downright frickin' scary!! Beck, I bet you can't wait to get to Melbourne. You will feel a lot less stressed once you are back there.

Amanda, your cellar tea sounded like fun and good to hear you got some nice bottles of wine. Jase and I are huge wine lovers too. Having a cellar tea is a great idea. Love your toppers too. They look so cute biggrin.gif

Michelle, this is something I thought may interest you, being in the Navy 'clan'. Jase's best man (and best friend from school) is in the Navy (in submarines). He is currently based in Perth, but was in Sydney a week or two ago for some sort of Navy business and when they went to a base at HMAS Kattabul (sp??), they were held up out of the front of base, at gunpoint, by 2 lebanese men ohmy.gif I couldn't believe it. That made me so angry. These men defend our country - all of the country, not just specific people mad.gif Can't stand this kind of 'us and them' attitude. Luckily the guys were fine and I think the 2 men were arrested.

Beck, I'm looking forward to hearing your hen's day stories. Don't forget to get lots of photo's taken for us biggrin.gif

Oops, just realised the time and I have to teach tonight. Better get going.

Good luck on your first day of work tomorrow Michelle biggrin.gif

Laurette, hope you're going O.K

Chloe, where's our Brisvegas update????

Kathy, hope you found your wedding outfit today biggrin.gif

Hi Girls!!!

Back from Brisvegas!

You were in my thoughts today Laurette.

MICHELLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YYYYYYYYYYAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Claps hands in delight! Congratulations on your getting your job. And its the one you definitely wanted - soo soo happy for you.

Fwahh! Check out all the bling bling in the house! Definitely need a warning next time so I can put on my sunnies!

Beck - yay for your hens this weekend! Congrats on finishing the OOS booklets too - we are almost there. I just have to stick about a hundred little diamontes on the covers, tie ribbons and print the actual middle bits... so much to do!

Amanda - wow, sounds like you really hit that alcohol this weekend. If you don't know what to do with the new bottles you have acquired, just let me know and I'll pm you my address laugh.gif Love your new cake toppers (lol re the skewers!)!

Jo - gotta love Jase's wedding band. There's a TAKEN stamp if I ever did see one!

How's everone's planning going? I'm freaking out. There's so much to do. On the way back from brissie, Alx and I started to write down a list of stuff we needed to do. It filled 2 A4 pages then we ran out of space. We're both stressin.

And Brisbane went ok - I managed to finalise the seating arrangements and many of the RSVPs as well. We did a big ring around on Saturday. Heaps of people had actually been into the wedding website (many even leaving guest book entries!) and hadn't actually RSVPd. Go Figure.

Our final numbers look to be about 140. Not far from our original estimation...

Mum has completely lost the plot. She had also gone out of her way to order 150 tea light candle holders and it turns out they are too big. She feels now that she has completely stuffed everything up and everything she's done for this wedding has just caused lots of trouble etc.

I told her all I care about is that she is healthy, I'm healthy, Alex and I will have a happy marriage, and she really cares enough to try her best to make it a very special day. She's really depressed now.

She wants me to find someone to sew the dress she was working on for me in the last 3 weeks.

I'm going to see someone tomorrow morning at 8am to see how feasible this might be....

Better go to bed since I'll be driving for an hour tomorrow morning to get to this lady's house...

Kathy - how's the dress huntin?!

Chloe XOXO
Saffire
HULOOOO *Echo* hullooo... huloo.. hulloooo)

Where is everyone?!

Just went to see the recommended dress maker in Melbourne this morning. She seems nice and the few pieces I could see in her front room looked very good. She is opening her own shop soon. I've comissioned her to make the dress and mum is sending down my shoes and lace material. Tomorrow I go to get measured. The calico should be done by Monday.

Wow. Getting a dress made in 3 weeks. This should be interesting. Mum seems very happy which is the main thing.

I'm desperate for some chocolate. But all the stress over the last couple of weeks and I've broken out like a teenager. Must.. Not... Eat.. Chocolate!

This is what the front will look like but in white silk satin:

I had some chocolate pudding.

It was warm and it had some white chocolate sauce dripping off it - not the runny stuff mind you, th nice thick stuff.

*sigh* Can't wait for the bloody wedding cake and dessert. I'm going to have 5 helpings!!!

Amanda your jewellry is gorgeous! I love that you have balanced the more featured piece around your neck with simple earrings! All that sparkly arkley!!!

Yay - Kathy congrats on buying your outfit - now we want pictures and details of where you bought it (might need to help my mother go buy something...)

Michelle - oh you poor soul, please go to bed. I hope you have a really good night's rest and I really really hope your package arrives soon or that your neighbours may have received it.

Laurette - let me know if you get it tomorrow. It definitely went in the post today smile.gif I wrapped it up terribly cos I wanted it to be protected in transit (stuck it inside a remodelled egg carton with bubble wrap and sticky tape all around it).

Going to go relive that chocolate pudding...

In my dreams ..... smile.gif
Kaygee
mmmm chocolate pudding....

The jewellry looks lovely Amanda it's stylish and elegant.

Laurette, good luck with the minister.

We have our first session of premarital counselling this Thursday. We did the 'quiz' about a month ago and need to discuss it and stuff..

We've started work on our ceremony - our celebrant sent us a file of stuff but we never received it?!?! So she emailed it all across to us last night. I'm really looking forward to writing the ceremony together. Everything else is kinda being sorted by other people far away, or the dress I've been doing by myself in Sydney, so the few things that H2B and I can do together are really important to me.

Ellerson, sorry but the post was quite funny - you could really tell that the sleeping pill had knocked you about biggrin.gif . I really hope you're sleeping better soon. Glad to hear that the first day of work went well.

Kathy will be happy that she found something. Nothing worse then planning a big shopping expedition and then.. nothing... sad.gif It took me longer to find my dress then I'd hoped and got a bit frustrating.. My mum was over from Perth and I had wanted us to find one together.. didn't happen... oh well..

My foot is much better, but I hope I never need another tetanus shot... ouch..

I've only got 3 and a half weeks of work left!! Yay!!

Oh and we've decided to get a kitten after the wedding. We're going to have a look at one litter this weekend.. I'm so excited!!
beckabunny
Oh a kitten! I love cats! I don't think it'd be fair for us to get one though, it'd get very lonely with us being out a lot.

Amanda, i love your jewelery. I don't have pics of any of my jewelery for the day, so you'll just have to wait.

Stop hogging that chocolate pudding Chloe! I want some!

I can't believe your package still hasn't arrived Michelle! Best of luck tracking it down, and i hope you had a good sleep.

Good luck with the counseling Karen, our celebrant asked us to do that survey too, but we wiggled out of it as it would have required us to fly down something rediculous like every second weekend for a minimum of 6 weeks. I've told him a little bit of a white lie that my friend has given us counseling, where as all she's been doing is asking me some 'hard questions' about our relationship.

Laurette, it shouldn't be long 'til you get that gorgeous bracelet!

One week today until we bugger off to Melbourne ladies!!

I will try and get heaps of pics of the hens night on Saturday.

Beck
--M--
Hi girls ph34r.gif Im feeling much better today lol

Karen - we did that quiz last week at our marathon 8 hour long counselling session. Neil invited the padre around to our house to discuss the results tomorrow night. Now I have to clean my house so the padre doesnt think we are slobs hehe.

Chloe - beautiful dress - I second Amandas vote for hottest bride '06

Amanda - the jewellry is gorgeous, soo sparly and beautiful you will look like a princess wub.gif

Beck - wow not long now til you go to Melb, I hope you have internet access there to keep in touch smile.gif

Our tickets are finally booked, we leave D 11th March and return 25th March yay my boss gave me 2 weeks off!!! Fantastico. I tol dmum we could only get a few days before and after as I want to rock up on her door and give her a nice surprise

Laurette - glad your home safe schnookims wub.gif Hope the meeting with the minister went well.
Kathy W
Hi girls,

Well Im back from my trip and yeah it was a huge success I now have an outfit for Amandas wedding smile.gif It is emerald green Two piece with sparkle on it.Very hard to describe so you will have to wait till my beautiful daughter brings my camera back on the weekend for photos sorry sad.gif

I have very sore legs and feet (note to self)Dont wear high heels when shopping for clothes laugh.gif

After looking all day at the shops and having most of the shop assistance telling me i look gorgeous in this and that and most of the stuff they gave me to try on
was bloody awful it was either way to old or way to young and some even made me look like a moron not a foxy moron laugh.gif

I got the dress form a little boutique in the Queens Arcade where Harvey Normans is,its called Zinny's and the lady in there was so helpful and friendly her sister has a shop across from her so I visited there as well and came out with a dress from there to I didnt need it and dont know when i will where it I just wanted it laugh.gif

The girls who run these shops are every shoppers dream they leave you alone let you browse then ask if you need any help etc etc and that is another reason they got my money they left me alone till i was ready to be helped oh it also helped that i liked the dresses.

I still have to get shoes that will be next week when my feet and legs have some life back in them laugh.gif

Well im going to catch up on all the posts now.

Kathyxxx

PS:Chloe,Amanda,Michelle and all the other march 18 girls congratulations on making it to the under one month to go laugh.gif

Dancing Girl
Hi girls,

Kathy, congratualations on getting your outfit. It sounds lovely biggrin.gif I love emerald green. It is one of my fave colours. I know what you mean about the sales people. If there is one thing I can't stand it's pushy, annoying sales ladies - especially ones that tell you how fantastic you look when you know darn well that you look like crap dry.gif I much prefer to be left to look around and then offered help after I've had a chance to suss out what they have. Can't wait to see pic's of the new outfit!

Amanda, I love your jewellery. It's very pretty and will look fantastic with your dress biggrin.gif

Michelle, lol at your post last night. That was so cute . I'm glad your first day of work went okay. I hope you are able to start sleeping better now that a few things have been sorted out (flowers, flights, job) . Although I'm sure your missing package is not helping sad.gif Was your Mum able to find out anything? Surely it has to turn up. Fingers are crossed for you.

Welcome back Laurette. Glad you made it home safely. Look forward to hearing an update from you.

Chloe, your poor Mum sad.gif Just keep giving her heaps of cuddles when you go up. It is probably a relief to not have to worry about the dress anymore. I can't believe that the dressmaker is going to whip it all together in 3 weeks! Fantastic effort. I loved the sample pic you posted (of course!). I'm sure it's going to turn out perfectly and if for some reason, it doesn't turn out how you plan, it doesn't matter because you have two other stunning dresses to wear!! I know what you mean about 'the list'. Just when you think it's all just about ready, there pops up something else dry.gif Details, details....so many of them!!

Beck, I can't believe you're on your way in a week ohmy.gif This is serious countdown time now. Will you be able to log in when you are down in Melbourne? We want to keep up with all the last minute countdown details (and your other hens!!) biggrin.gif

Karen good luck with the counselling. We didn't have a counselling session as such, but from what I've heard, they can be quite interesting. I know what you mean about the tetanus shot. I had one when I had my other vaccine shots (for the honeymoon) and my arm was dead for nearly a week!

I had the 'waxing' session today. Very proud of myself - I didn't cry tongue.gif Actually, I have to say that it didn't hurt as much as I was thought it would. Thanks for the tips girls biggrin.gif

I finished printing the OOS covers on the weekend, but still need to add the roses, leaves and ribbon to match the invites and then print the inside. Still, it's a start! When I finished them, I'll have to start on the menu's and placecards. blink.gif like I said..just when you think you have pretty much everything covered!!

now I'm going to find me some chocolate to calm myself biggrin.gif

Thank you so much for the advice today in my thread Laurette and Jo, we decided they could bring the baby.

Congrats on the OOS's Jo!

Hooray for Kathy! She has a dress! Big relief!

I finished my place cards tonight and i have started packing some things into a suitcase.

6 sleeps 'til Melbourne!

I will try my very best to keep in contact while i'm there, but i do know my parents computer is quite dodgy and they only have dial-up internet, so i don't know what my chances will be like. Will hope for the best though.

Hi girls

Kathy welcome back. Im glad that you got an outfit to wear to the wedding smile.gif cant wait to see some pics of ya smile.gif

Jo - good work on waxing , I dont think I could bring myself to do it again, I let neil do it to me and yikes she hurt. Glad to hear your OOS are almost finished

Karen - Im getting a new animal after the wedding too, I want a puppy, but I also want another cat as well, might have to get both cool.gif

Beck - I really hope you can jump on and update next week from M smile.gif

We just got back from our private dance lesson. We decided to go with the KISS theory (keep it simple stupid) its so hard when neil has no perception of rhythm , he cant tell the beats or when to step. It comes natually for me, but the poor boy just doesnt "listen" to the music he just hears the tune - if that makes sense. Guess what song he will be listening to non stop for the next 3 weeks tongue.gif

Hi Girls

*Chloe distributes bars of chocolate around the forum*

These are healthy chocolate bars. Have as many as you want and nothing but good things will happen tongue.gif

Karen - Yay! A kitten for you! what a fantastic way to start your new life. I love animals - we have many (actually they are mostly mine that Alex has 'adopted').

Michelle - oooh a puppy AND a kitten!!! How exshcitment!!! Congrats on your dance class - what dance are you doing? I just had this funny image of you dancing away and Neil trying to keep up! It doesn't make sense that the girls usually have all the rhythm and the boys are the ones who are supposed to lead. Perhaps it should be the other way around?

Laurette - anything in the post today? Hope you received your package either today or tomorrow smile.gif

Beck - how unbelievably exciting?!? You've started packing?! WOW. OMG. So soon. Help. Can't... Breath... Panck...ing!!! I want to see pictures pictures pictures of your Hens night!!!

Jo - I"m about at the same place as you with OOS booklets. Just ahve to add diamontes and ribbons and the inside paper bits (you know, the important stuff!). Then onto menus etc. Congrats on finishing the OOS!!!

Kathy - wow, sounds like that boutique was great. Congrats on finding your dress - now just shoes bag and... what else? accessories maybe? God I love shopping. Can't wait til I can return to normal spending habits.

Had my measurement today. Walked in and there was a bustier sort of thing on the manniquin - she put it on me and it almost fit like a glove! Amazing considering she hadn't taken any measurements yesterday (she just sewed based on what she remembed of me in my suit!). We sorted out the neckline and back and tried the lace to see how it would sit. I'm starting to get excited again!!! Can't wait til monday when the first fitting will be:)

Nitey night girls!!! Oh no - another day passed! The countdown continues...

Wow girls! As always you are busy busy busy!

I've had a crazy week at work, and we were hoping to get off to the coast today but it doesnt look like it will happen til tomorrow. Don't worry, the camera is packed so I can get pics of mum and the pew bows and bomboniere and all those last minute things we had to do.

My (final?) dress fitting is next wednesday, so hopefully all goes well there.

Thanks for your feedback re: jewellery everyone. I sort of had a bit of a panic moment where I thought I didnt want it! I think it will be fine though. I guess I have never really thought of it as important, but seeing other pieces got me thinking a bit.

Michelle- any word on those photos? Hope you are feeling better!

Karen - how cool! A kitten! We have two dogs, they are like our babies! We feel a bit bad putting them in the kennels during the wedding, but at least paddy's parents are going to babysit while we are on our honeymoon.

BEck - how exciting! You get a bit of a double adventure really, going to Melbourne first! Mum is making me pack for the honeymoon on the Wednesday before the wedding!

Jo- good work on the OOS, isnt it a good feeling to have shifted them! And I only did 70 of the buggers! Chloe - good to see you are getting through yours, and the dress maker sounds like a goddess! Well done!

Laurette - I can't remember if you said - but how did your spin round to the motels go? Any issues?

Anyway, I better go. Big day today sad.gif

Some good news has come out of the hecticness at work though, it looks like my teaching timetable has totally changed, and that I am now not teaching Thursdays but on Tuesdays. I had all of my trials booked in the next few weeks on Tuesdays so I have had to reschedule those, but the good news is that the day after the hens is free. So I can now totally smash it up and know that I dont have to face anyone the next day before lunchtime. WOOHOO! cool.gif

Chat soon,

Righto then chickens, this is where I am up to.

I am sorry if I don’t mention everyone in this post, just trying to get an update… up!

We met with the minister on Tuesday night after we got home from Wollongong, and have finalised all our ‘counselling’ and ‘preparation’ which is good. And you know what’s cool? On the graphed results, we scored above the BEST couple scenario, in all sections other than religion, since we aren’t real religious, which is OK – the minister didn’t mention it, and he certainly doesn’t push where it’s not wanted.

We had to answer all these questions and do activities and stuff, and we scored so high, it was great! So happy with it all! He said that he can tell that we are very in tune, and communicate really well.

We then had a list of all the areas that we were surveyed on, and we had to pick three that we thought were strengths, and three that we though needed work – and we both picked all the same, which is awesome – he said that he’s never seen that before – so I was so happy about that! AND, as the work areas, the ones that we picked were the ones that we scored lowest on on the chart, so it’s awesome to know that we are thinking along the same lines – such a relief! I cant believe how easy it all was.

Yesterday, I asked one of my beautiful friends, Carolyn to do a reading for me in the church at the wedding, and she said YES and she’s so excited! She was my number 4 pick for BM, and I should have had her instead of Glenn’s sister, but she understands, so it’s cool. Now Glenn just has to ring his mate, Trevor and ask him if he will do the other, and that will be excellent.

We organised the service with the minister, so now I am right to organise the OOS, the placecards and the menus. I have to do the OOS draft up by Saturday to drop up to the minister for him to check, which will be good, and then he said that he will have that back to me by the end of the weekend.

But menus and placecards, I want to have organised by the end of the weekend. We’ll see how that goes!

I have also booked in my trial tan for tonight, so I will report back on how that goes! I will have to find some really loose gully clothes to go in, as I have never had it done before, so I don’t know how it will look. I am also getting my eyebrows waxed, so that will be excellent – they are long overdue, and will make me feel so much better, I reckon.

Wow, just writing this has made me happier! Yay!

I have had trouble thinking about the wedding for the last week and a half since all this happened with Grandie, which is time that I cant afford this close from the wedding.

I cannot believe that I only have seven days of work to go and then I am off for a week, and then it’s the wedding. The suspense is killing me… argh.

I have just drunk a 750ml pump water bottle filled with chocolate milk and now I feel SOOOOO sick.

Chloe, still no package in the mail, but I am hoping that it turns up today, should do, all going to plan.

Kathy, awesome news about the dress! Well done – I cant wait to see pics. My mum is also wearing green – although hers is more of a pistachio green. That’s what I am calling it, anyway.

Beck, like I said we also have people bringing kids and in the end, yes I did feel like a hypocrite, I just hope that I don’t even notice that they are there. I just know that there is going to be local people who have kids whinging about it, because their kids didn’t get to come and I don’t even like these people that I know will whinge, so I am not particularly caring. I figure that I will be having a happy day regardless, so then the mothers can deal with it if there are flare ups, except that then you have the problem that Glenn’s mother will probably be whinging the most of everyone. Pfft, I’m over it.

I am rambling, I know.

SO anyway, we went to Wollongong.

The funeral was a lovely service – really really nice and then they had some nibbles and cups of tea and I got to see lots of family that we haven’t seen for ages. I felt terrible because I didn’t even know that my stepfather had a cousin who was blind. Weird – but he was lovely, and it was nice to be able to introduce Glenn to everyone – although again, as nice as it can be for a funeral.

So anyway, from there we all got in the procession and went down the highway to the cemetery, and had the burial service which was just for immediate family.

I could have strangled the sister of my uncle who was there (not my aunty, on the other side of the family) when her mobile phone went off – how could you not think to put it on silent or turn it off??? So cranky with her.

Anyway, once that was done, we went back to Gerringong, my cousin and his wife were with us, and we went to the pub and all had a few drinks and bets on horses for Charlie, (my grandfather’s nick name) and it was hilarious because this race we all had a horse in got let go early before all the horses were in the gates and some of them ran off without riders, then they had to be scratched because they were buggered, which was hilarious! It was half an hour of screams, squeals and laughter.

So there was just our immediate family at the pub, and then back to my aunty’s for dinner and it was good. It was a good night to be see everyone and although the circumstances were not the best, it was good to see everyone before the wedding, and I also met my cousin’s boyfriend, who is coming to the wedding. They have been together for like, 2 years – that’s how long it’s been since I saw her! He is really nice, and a good golfer too, so he and Glenn hit it off straight away! And because they are both funny blokes with an excellent ability to bull shit, they got along even better.

So they are all staying at the same motel the night of the wedding, which is great, and that whole motel is booked out with wedding guests, so my Aunty Bev is organising the ‘room party’ for afterwards which will actually be in the courtyard at the motel, and she told us that we can come, but we don’t have to bring anything, whereas she is going to be giving everyone else a list. We only live around the corner, so apparently if we don’t go, she’s going to be coming to our house.

Funny lady – I guess you had to be there, but it was great.

As none of my family coming up for the wedding can come the week before for the hens and bucks, we are playing golf the day after the wedding before the BBQ lunch, which will be fun. Everyone is bringing their sticks and we are teeing off about 8am, which will be good. I cant wait. My cousin Kate plays, so it’s the first time that I will be able to play with another girl! Yay! Also means that I don’t have to worry about any of the preparation for the lunch – I can just come back to the clubhouse and it will all be ready! He he.

Overall, other than it being a funeral, it was good to see people, and they helped me look forward to the wedding a bit, if that makes sense at all.

Shoes still haven’t arrived… not happy about that at all really. I just don’t know what I am going to do. Deb shoes must be found today and see if they fit, and then if they don’t, I can have a look in Wagga tonight.

I will also be picking up Glenn’s ring tonight, so I am going to be sneaky and mark that off the list.

Scott’s Page Boy suit arrived, and he’s proud as punch to wear it – he LOVED it – I couldn’t have been happier with his reaction, even if I’d tried. He got straight in it and swanned around, which of course meant that Brittany, the little b**** (oh, did I say that aloud??) wanted to try her dress on, which was a surprise, so she put that on without ripping it and was fascinated by the crystals on it. So then of course Glenn’s mother said ‘I told you it would all be alright’ and I could’ve slapped her. Soon enough though she got jack of it and went all sulky and wanted to take it off. So that was the end of that and I got to say ‘I told you so’ back to FMIL. She makes me mad…. mad.gif but what can you do.

Amanda, I think that your jewellery looks amazing. I love it. Like I said, I have very similar earrings, just that mine are round. They will match my new bracelet perfectly I think.

I also spoke to my friend Alison about borrowing her hair pins, and she was happy with that which was a relief. We actually had lunch yesterday which was great, as we hadn’t really see each other for ages. Although she didn’t bring the pins with her, I will get them off her over the next few days. Her baby is due in 7 weeks, so I hope that we are back from wherever we honeymoon before it arrives! I also have to go and have a look at her house, as they have done a heap of renos prior to baby arriving, and they are getting a new car… cant wait until that’s us.

Speaking of things arriving, that credit card offer that I accepted, it hasn’t come in the mail yet, so I hope that it does soon! I got an ezi buy catalogue the other day and there are things in it that I want to get for the honeymoon.

Glenn also paid out one of his cards and was thinking about cancelling it, but I have convinced him to hold onto it until after the honeymoon, as a security net. I have it, so that he cant use it, and I dont look like a Glenn Chessor, so I doubt that I will be able to use it either.

Chloe, great news about the dressmaker. Hopefully your shoes will get to you today so that you can take them to the fitting on Monday. She sounds great if she has managed to get the corset to fit so close to your body in the first go without measurements. What excellent news.

Does anyone know whether or not you can get sleeping tablets over the counter at the chemist? I haven’t had more than about 5 hours sleep a night (broken, not all at once either) a night for the last week, and it’s starting to wear me down.

Michelle, your post was funny! I am glad that your work is going well, and I am sure that the dancing will come together, you just need to practice a lot in the next 3 weeks! Great news about being able to get the time off, too.

Jo, well done with the OOS booklets. I have 90 to make also, but still have to get the all clear from the minister as I mentioned. Oh, and draft them… we decided on readings though.

I got an inability yesterday (5 days late) from my boss, and it really upset me. I actually cried, which I didn’t expect. But I guess you get that. I was really hoping that he and his wife would come – they missed my 21st and our engagement party – they must be trying to tell me something, I think. laugh.gif

7 days of work to go…

Well, that was a bit of a marathon post!

Beck, I cant believe that the time has come for you to pack! ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ohmy.gif madness! I really hope that you can log on while you are in Melbourne!

Oh, and on top of all that, not UTD this month either.

Hi girls,

Michelle,

Glad to hear that the job is going well and that they have given you time off.Everything seems to be going ok for you now except for your parcell hopefully it will show up soon.

Chloe,

Great that you were able to get a dressmaker to sew the dress together at such short notice at least that has now taken the presure off your mum.Make sure you give her lots of big cuddles when you see her.

Beck,

Cant believe its time for you to pack.Hope you can get online down there and keep us all informed on how everything is going.

Jo,

Everything seems to be on track for you.Well done.Told you the waxing wouldnt be as bad as you thought now just make sure you exfoliate everyday so you dont get ingrown hairs.

Karen,

Im glad that your foot is feeling better and now you have a new addition to your family how cute.

Laurette,

What a post (i think its a record laugh.gif)
I was happy to read that your Grandads funeral was more of a celebration of his life and i think he would have been happy with what you all did going and having a bet on the horses.Do you think he had something to do with the misshap at the start laugh.gif
Has your parcel arrived yet?

As for sleeping tablets over the counter sorry i dont know of any Amanda might be able to help you there as she used to work in a chemist. The only thing that works for me is hot chocolate and a nip of port works everytime.

Wow Laurette what a great update! Sorry mate you cant get sleeping tabs over the counter- for the good stuff you need a prescription. I have got some prescription ones - stilnox (which I took the other night tongue.gif ) I also have some herbal stuff - Valerian which is not as strong but calms you down I have also had some good sleep on those tabs too.

I want to see a pic of your bracelet! Im glad you had a good time catching up with family - apart from the circumstances of course. Its true you only really see family at weddings and funerals which sucks.

We scored pretty well in our test too, we didnt do so well in the religion section though. Padre is coming over tonight to analyse it with us.

Work is still going well, its so flat out all the time so the day goes quick which is nice. Havent been abused by anyone yet although some gynae spoke to me like shit today over the phone - bloody wank.. I bet he has nice bedside manners dry.gif
