PMSL at you Carolyn! I actually went to a wedding where they had that first intricate cake that you posted - the bride's sister does cakes, so she picked the most challenging one as a test/dare/joke, even though she didnt really like it! Ha ha

Chloe, here is the bracelet that I want. Princess Megs is investigating for me, as she is in Melbourne. I was going to ask you, but I figure that you're busy enough - and you're NEVER in town on weekends!

I am still in love with that AP dress... do you have any more pics? Like of the back or anything?
Dancing Girl
OMG! I popped in here to say hello but I'll I've seen and read is cakes (drool), dinner menus (drrooolllll) and CHOCOLATE (DDDRRRROOOOLLLLLLL)......so now I have to go home and eat.

be back later cool.gif

Laurette
Tell me about it Jo... I am off to eat some icecream with Milo (yeah good dinner!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif )
Carolyn
They're funny aren't they. I have a friend who's a cake maker and I wanted to give her a heart attack by telling her that I wanted one of those cakes.

I couldn't imagine eating one of them. I don't think they'd taste very nice.
Laurette
Yes.. they look a bit frou frou... and I cant imagine how they could be light enough to be suspended like that... they need to be made out of something like foam...

I forgot that McLeods was back on tonight and have missed the first 15 of it... so not happy about it. Luckily I remembered before it was half over... I was watching the tape of the OC from last night..

Still got Prison Break to go yet tonight...
Dancing Girl
Okay, I'm back and suitably nourished biggrin.gif Michelle and Laurette, your menu's sound yum-dili-umptious biggrin.gif

And those cakes - Michelle, Chloe & Carolyn (wow, it's been food central in here today!), look equally as divine. Mmmm - why am I suddenly hungry again laugh.gif I love those chocolate shard cakes. They just look so yummy.

Carolyn, those other cakes are absolute crackers. I can imagine your friends reaction when she told her you wanted one laugh.gif

Laurette, I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandfather. Is your Stepdad O.K? It must have been hard for him getting there and finding out he was 15 mins late. My thoughts are with you and your family. I'm glad your boss is also being supportive of you and allowing you time off to grieve and go to the funeral.

Chloe, Chloe, Chloe, that AP dress on you is just jaw-droppingly stunning [huge sigh]! I agree with Laurette, more pic's please biggrin.gif Between that and your other dress, you are going to look truly gorgeous wub.gif

Beck, I'm sorry to hear your feeling so stressed sad.gif If your hair is coming out, your body is definitely trying to tell you something. Like Michelle said, if something about the wedding starts stressing you out, try just to focus instead on the important thing - your man and that ring you'll have on your finger. At the end of the day, regardless of anything else, you are getting married to spend the rest of your life to the man you love and nothing can change that wub.gif . Maybe you can try one of those vitamin complex to help with stress. Or speak to your doctor about what's happening when you go to him next and see what he recommends. And remember we are here to vent to wink.gif

Laurette, I love that bracelet. Hope Meg is able to track it down for you biggrin.gif

Well, Jase just got home from work so I better go pay him some attention. biggrin.gif

Laurette
Bec, I know what you mean about hair. I have been losing a lot lately, but didnt really think much of it. Stress could be a reason for it.

I sometimes take that Executive B12 ant-stress forumla. If you arent opposed to taking stuff, then I would recommend them. I have been back on them these last two days. I am pretty sure that it's Blackmores that make them, but I will confirm tomorrow. My bottle is at work.

Hey, would you be annoyed by this? We sold some golf sticks on ebay, and we were counting on the person who bought them to come through, as we need the money to pay for the rest of Glenn's wedding ring.

So now they wont pay - they say that they changed their mind. I have lodged a non-payment report, but do any of you know if there is anything else that we can do with it?

Heather :)
Hey girls!

Hope you dont mind me popping in! I have never come in here, I don't think. I get so caught up in the Canberra brides and my date twinnie bit that I never venture into my month!

I thought since it is getting so close, and for some of you it is a mere couple of weeks I would venture in here and say Hi!!!!

Hope everyones plans are going well...I see a couple of you I know!!!

Hope your enjoying the lead up. I don't know about you but I'm loving it...bar the stress constant wedding worries and thoughts at midnight!!!

Laurette
Hi heather... I just made it in to the Canberra thread, will pop you an email tomorrow...

xx
Saffire
Laurette - I have been to Jeanette Maree's store in Hawthorn!

In fact, think I may have a voucher for her store I got from a bridal expo...

She has some stunning jewellry - want me to go and find the bracelet for you?
I'm going to there tommorrow (Hawthorn) to fit the AP dress - its like 2 feet too long so they needed to cut it first, then have me put it on again, then measure it properly and pin it before they properly hem it. I'll be there at lunch time so I will go in there for you.

Weekends I'm not here in Melbourne.

Weekdays I am! And I like to shop in between sprouts of hard work tongue.gif

I'm spending the whole night updating my database. It's so exciting. NOT.

I do have more pics... will post them after I've got a bit more work done - promise smile.gif
beckabunny
Laurettte, thanks for the vitamin advice, i'm already taking a general 'womens multi-vitamin' suppliment thingy, i'll have to check if it has B-12 in it.

As for the golf sticks, i'm not sure what else you can do! I've never sold anything on ebay , only bought stuff.

Carolyn, thise cakes are so outlandish!!

Girls, i need to try and think of somrthing to borrow from someone. I don't need to borrow anything, but i've got the something old (a name pin that i've had since i was born) something new (my dress, my jewelery, even my undies) i've got something blue (wearing a bracelet with blue topaz and i believe my garter is going to be at least partially blue) what can i borrow? who should i borrow from?

Beck
Laurette
Hmmm Beck - I dont know. I am just going to borrow something from a friend for my hair... that's my something borrowed. Is there something like that you can use? or a bag or something?
Carolyn
Hi Beck,

you're doing better than I am, so far I have my new dress and nothing else. I want to get some underwear with blue but have no idea about the old and the borrowed.

Could you maybe borrow something of your mums? I'm quite a sentimental person and I think she would be touched. It really depends on your outfit and what you have already. Maybe some earings? or other jewellery. Or if you're having a little purse, you could always slip something in there like a hankerchief that your mum carried on her wedding day, or a little momento of hers.

I hope you girls are keeping healthy. I take B complex for stress and have started taking spirulina. I visited BIL2B the other day and he had tonsilitis. It made me realise I can't get sick for the big day! Take care of yourselves, you don't want a nasty cold from being run down for your big day. wink.gif

Have you all written your vows? H2B and I are planning on writing our entire ceremony ohmy.gif (hopefully tonight) I hope we haven't set ourselves up for too much work.

How are all your grooms doing? Mine is so excited, he keeps calling me marriage-mouse as a nickname wub.gif

Talk to you all soon, Carolyn smile.gif
Laurette
Chloe, thanks so much for the offer. Megs is going to ring them this morning at 10am, as that's when she's open apparantly, but if you could have a look too, that would be awesome.
Leesha
Hi Girls...

Just popping my head in, not long to go now, how is everyone going?

Will pop back soon with an update on how I am going... I am sorry for being so slack!

Hello LADIES!

My god you guys CRACK ME UP!

*MEGA POST COMING! WARNING*

Ohh...here is what our cake will look like:

user posted image

Although the people will be our cake people, the ribbon will be pink, and the flowers will be fresh pink lisianthus and singapore orchids rather than icing ones. Should be good!

BECK - you poor thing! I hope your stress is easing. I can't believe you are losing hair you poor bugger. I must admit I have been having a few sleeping problems, which is in turn making me a bit cranky.

Hey Laurette - I sell stuff on ebay a fair bit and regularly have people pull out after winning. File the non-paying bidder report, relist the item straight away, and leave the mofo heaps of negative feedback. It is really all you can do unfortunately. I had one bi@tch buy 6 things from me totalling nearly $300, and she changed her mind. She won't ever be able to buy on ebay again though!

Our menu is pretty much set. We are having the following for $109 per head:

Champage, beer & wine served for 6 hours

Canapes:
Parmesan Cheese Blinis topped with Caramelised Red Onion Jam
Smoked Salmon and Horseradish Cream on Bruschetta
Nori Rolls with Dipping Sauce
Assorted Tartlets
Chicken Skewers (Satay and Honey Soy)
BBQ Beef Tsire Koftas with Yoghurt Dip

Entree:
Butternut Pumpkin soup and Roasted Macadamia Nuts
Smoked Chicken Breast on Mango, Walnut and Mixed Leaf Salad
with Seeded Mustard Mayonnaise

Main:
Slow-baked Scotch Fillet with Trilogy of Mushroom Sauce, Hasselback Potatoes,
Roasted Roma Tomatoes and Broccoli
Locally Farmed Trout Fillet, Lightly Spiced on Slow Roasted Roma Tomato, Garlic,
Basil and Red Onion Salad
(VEGO) Caramelised Red Onion, Feta and Kalamatta Olive Tartlet with Seasonal Vegetables

Dessert:
Triple Chocolate Gateaux with mixed Berry Coulis
Individual Apple, Almond and Cinnamon Pie with Double Cream

Wedding cake, tea, coffee, port and mints to follow.

I think this is a pretty good deal, considering we are also getting all of the other bonuses - i.e. wedding night accommodation, table menus, chair covers, table decorations (flowers & candles), DJ for 3 hours, hair for all the BM's and me, and a few other bits like a wedding album and keepsake box, and security charge for us to get into the rest of the building for photos in front of the stained glass window.

Hrmmm...what else has been happening? We have had a couple of flight centre vouchers sent to us, which is great, and I have also discovered that I can redeem my credit card points for a flight centre voucher!!! So I am using the points which I earnt when I paid for the honeymoon to put more money back on to the honeymoon. Hehehe!

Carolyn, good to hear from you, how did you go with your vows? We have just opted for the 'standard issue'!!!

Anyway gals, better go and do some work. MOH gets here in a few hours in preparation for the Cellar tea! I'll keep you all posted.

Hi girls,

Amanda,

You biatch you know the rules of this family is if you cant share chocolate with mum you dont show her. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Laurette,

I would ask your friend if you can borrow the hair pins.

Beck,

How are your nails coming along?I would do them for you but Im down in NSW now so it would be a bit of a drive.

NO MORE CHOCOLATE POSTS!!!!!!!!!

kathyxxx
Laurette
Oh Amanda - that menu and price inclusions sound divine! Yummo. I think that I might have to hoof it to your wedding after mine! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Glenn is really pissed off about the ebay thing - he doesnt seem to understand that it's the risk you take, listing stuff there.

You lucky girl! Getting flowers! Aww, so sweet!

I love your cake - and photos in front of stained glass... that's a very very good idea, I must see if I can track some of that down...

Well, I am almost down to three weeks - still with no shoes! Ah, the joys. Must find my deb shoes tonight, and may even have a look at the local shoe shop at lunch time, see what they have. Not that I can afford more shoes. Hopefully if I do get them though, should be able to wrangle a refund on the others. I just dont want to get stuck with two pairs...

Michelle, you wouldnt have gone for your interview yet, so GOOD LUCK with it - I am sure that you will blitz them!
Laurette
CHLOE! I see you here! More pics! More pics! More pics!

Please?
beckabunny
Kathy, my nails aren't going well. With all this stress, i can't stop chewing them long enough to let them grow. I tried going to that website you suggested in that other post to try and find a good place in Vic to go to but the only place i could find listed in Vic was some sort of training academy, not an actual businesses.

What should i do? Which do you think is better for me, gel or acrylic? Growing them naturally just aint going to work, no matter how good the solution (unless you put it on before you go to sleep and then wake up in the morning with nice long nails).

If you know of any collegue that runs a business in Vic who won't butcher my nails, i'd be willing to drive almost anywhere. Also, how long before my wedding day should i get them done?

Beck
Saffire
OH Dear. I can see we started a cyber food banquet yesterday and its going to continue on today...

Amanda - your menu sounds...oh my god. Think I have a bit of dribble at the side of my mouth...

And your cake is too cute!!! With your cake toppers, flowers and colours, it will look sensational smile.gif

Beck maybe you could invest in some relaxing massages? Or get your man learn how to perform the task biggrin.gif I know what you mean though, despite having microdermabrasion and going on a special skin diet, I have broken out on my face and a bit on my back which is probably all stress related (can you get pimples from looking at chocolate on the computer monitor???). Hang in there!!!

Beck I haven't thought so far as to what I'm going to borrow and wear blue so I'm stumped at the moment... Perhaps you could go down Laurette's path and borrow a hairpin from someone? That would be easy enough to do..

Oh yeah Laurette - borrow the hair pins! borrow the hair pins! Re bracelet - just let me know if you need me to pop in there. I'll see how I go today, might have a looksie while I"m driving by anyways... problem withthat is I might find something I want to buy. Could be dangerous but I'm willing to risk myself just for you... unsure.gif laugh.gif

Another pic comin right up!

Chloe, would be good if you could just pop in, ask if they have any in stock - the one that was in Cosmo Bride, they should know. Maybe text me or give me a call if they have it and I can give CC details over the phone or something?

I will also check with Megs and see how she got on.

Cheers babe!
Laurette
Chloe, you are sensational.

As is that dress.

you know that if worst comes to worst, you could wear that down the aisle.

Gawd, it even LOOKS expensive - I love the way that you wear it. Looks so much better than it did on that model.
Laurette
Crikey! 6 of us in here all at once! I imagine that there will be an explosion of posts some time shortly...

Kathy, I remember what you mean about you, Kate and I! I cant believe how far we have come.

I just read in the General Wedding forum that Rochelle has put her wedding back to March next year...

Hi beck,

How badly bitten are your nails?

If you have bitten them down to the quick a lot of nail techs wont put nails on because there is nothing there to support the acrylic/gel nail.

You will probably have to beg the tech and promise them that you wont blame them if they come off.

I would recomend Gel and have them put on as close to the wedding as possible somwhere between 1 week and no later than 2 days before the wedding.

Leave it with me i will contact a good friend of mine in melbourne and see if she can help you out.

I will pm you with her details by the end of the day.

Laurette - Done!! I'll pop in there today and give you a call if they have it smile.gif

And I'll just have a quick little look at the other stuff myself... Just a quick look...

HIIIII EVERYONEE!!!!

This is exciting! Quick! Pop open some champers!
beckabunny
I read that too Laurette, it's good to see she's putting her health first.

Chloe, i am so in love with that dress, i could just stand there all day and go *swish, swish, swish* with the skirt on it.

It seems that it has become party time in the March '06 thread! I even saw an anon lurking.

Beck

Laurette - which cosmo did you see it in? I should have most of them and I can take the actual mag in the store with me...

Thank you so much Kathy!! Most of my nails aren't bitten down too badly at the moment. I'm going to try super dooper hard not to bite them down too bady for the next couple of weeks. Looking forward to your PM!

I think i need a chew toy girls, something to chew that isn't my nails and isn't food.

Beck
magnetique
Hey Beck - I bought a KONG yesterday for my pup who keeps chewing all of my bedspreads and loungecovers.....heheheh

have you thought about gum? Just don't consume the sugarfree stuff excessively...I hear it has a laxative effect....

....which may be of benefit to pre-wedding weight loss? WHERE'S THAT EXTRA???

Eat Chocolate and Chew Gum.

New diet - you could publish that instead of your thesis.. sure you would get a lot of money from it wink.gif
Laurette
Hey Kirsty!

Chloe, it is the newest Cosmo Bride - only came out last week or the week before.

That sounds like a great diet!

Mum just told me some wonderful news!!

OUR DJ HAS JUST CANCELLED!!!!

apparently she has to work her other job that night mad.gif

so now with 3 weeks to go, we have no dj!

Freaking wondeful!

Gotta go to work now...

*crying*

Beck
Laurette
Oh Beck - I am sorry! Where abouts in Vic are you?
Laurette
I just want to say a MASSIVE THANKYOU TO CHLOE

for going to the jewellery shop today and getting me the bracelet that I wanted!

THANKYOU SO MUCH!

I am sorry that I sounded a little bit strange when I answered the phone - I just assumed that you would know that I knew it was you! Your name came up on my phone, so I knew it would be you, plus noone ever rings me!

I cant wait to get this bracelet! And now that I have thought about it, I might have to organise the flower for my hair also... we'll see how it goes! I have earrings that will match, so it's all good!

YIPEE!

THANKS AGAIN SO MUCH

also, my news of the day is that my mum made me a little bag for the day, so here is it;

user posted image

I think that it's great - only criticism is that the strap is a little long, but that's OK - she said she could shorten it, but I said not to worry about it. I wont be carrying it for long anyway!
Carolyn
That sucks so much Beck mad.gif

Surely she should have known. Does she have a back up person that she could send instead? That is so wrong

Laurette, Cute bag. You're mum's very clever.
Kathy W
Hi Girls,

Laurette,

Loves your bag your mum is so clever.

Three cheers for Chloe for getting Laurette's jewellery YEAH!! what a gal.

Beck,

Bad news about the DJ have they offered to help you out with someone to cover for her.

Good news for you I have a Nail Tech friend who will do your nails and she will come to you i will pm you her number now.

Has anyone heard how Michelle went yet?????

kathyxxx

Laurette
No, I havent Kathy! I hope that it went well for her, I really really do.

CHLOE IS STILL AWESOME!

The more I think about it Chloe, the more I want that flower, but I will see what I think once I see your pics!

Beck, that's great news about the nail lady that Kathy has got! Three cheers for Kathy!

Ah, the sisterhood of the March 2006 thread...

Beck, that's really really bad about the DJ mad.gif Have they given you any alternatives? Is booking a generic one, such as Moby Disc or something like that an option?
Laurette
hello *echo* *echo*

Where is everyone?

Actually, Karen, I can see you in here... You better post me something to read smile.gif
