Okay girls, I am back with story and pic's as promised
I had sooooo much fun and I have to say that I truly am blessed to have such an amazing group of friends. They put so much work into making it special for me and couldn't have organised a more perfect day for me. They really are the best
Okay, mushiness aside...they story begins at 12pm when I had to be at my BM's place.
When I got there I was given a pink "Princess" t-shirt - which they had organised for all the girls to have and wear, a hot pink veil edged with feathers and rhinestones stuck on (made by my BM's mother
) and a tiara! I was also given a pink "hen's bag" with a few challenges that I had to complete during the day
We all then went and caught a ferry across to the city where we met up with some of the other girls at a bar. Level 2 of the bar was a private floor just for us to learn.....poledancing!!! LOL! What a classic
So, we had some Champagne (as you do), then spent the next couple of hours gyrating up a storm. It was so much fun (but boy was I sore the next day! Hard bloody work!).
From there, we went to another area that was sectioned off for us and had some cocktails and played a few hens games. I also had to fulfill a couple of challenges - including getting some guys to eat candy off a candy necklace I was wearing in exchange for a coin, getting a kiss - with photo's
- from both a hot guy and a bartender (who was also hot
) and finding some poor guy to let me paint all 10 of his toes hot pink! (Mission accomplished by the way)
Next stop was dinner, which the girls had organised at a beautiful Restaurant in the Westin Hotel (very 5 star!!). When we first got there, the Champagne was opened and being poured and the menu folder was in front of us and when we opened menu up it was personalised with "Jo's Hen's Day" with a special food and wine menu on one side and a beautiful poem written by my girls on the other side.
(this is the part where I got all emotional)!! So, we had a gorgeous meal of divine food and delicious wine and had time to relax and have a good ol' gasbag (as only girls can
THEN, (just when I thought there could be no more!!!), we found ourselves in Karoake World. LOL! This is a Karoake bar where you hire private rooms and sing to your hearts content. I have never been there before, but those that know me well, know that I'm a closet singer/karoake fan
So, they figured what better place to take me too than somewhere that I can go off to my hearts content! So we had a few drinks and sang and it was both fun and funny!
Nearly there....after the Karoake, we ended the night at a trendy jazz bar (upstairs) and nite-club (downstairs) and had some more yummy cocktails and did some more laughing and gasbagging!
So, that was my night. No naked men (sorry Amanda
), but lots and lots of laughs and fun with the most amazing group of girlfriends. Geez, this wedding business is really bringing out the sensitivity in me
As promised, here are some pic's for you. There is also some pic's of my dress fitting. Only about 4 pic's and they really don't do the dress justice at all. In a few of them you can see the gorgeous back (my fave bit) in the mirror.Hens day/nightdress fitting ( last 4 pics - look at the back in the mirror!)
Laurette, I'm lucky that the choccie place is only @40 min drive (and on the way to my grandparents) for me, so I'm just going to go pick them up to save postage. We are getting Cranberry Cosmopolitan, Strawberry Champagne and Mint
(Because they are so close, it was a good excuse to go buy a couple of each to taste test each flavour. Hard job, but someone had to do it
