Laurette, I love this song and was thinking of incorporating it somewhere on our day. Not sure where yet though. Not up to the music planning yet
Chloe, your dress sounds divine. I can't wait to see it...and that lace.. $600 a mtr...ooh la la! It must be something special indeed. It sounds beautiful.
I ordered the cufflinks in the Sydney store Chloe. They are sterling silver. In fact I don't recall seeing any that were white gold (unless they kept them in a different cabinet). They were @$340 (or something like that - can't remember exact price), so if they do have white gold, I imagine they would be very pricey indeedy! They are gorgeous though. It's worthwhile checking Brisbane. You never know, they may have a pair or already have an order for some to come in.
Well, in 35 mins, my ticker will also be on the 'one month and ....' countdown

scary stuff!
nearly time for bed methinks! have a good day tomorrow girls.

Laurette, Mark didn't care about dance lessons until 2 or 3 days ago. I think he's gone off the idea again though, so you can probably safely join my 'shuffle club'.
Although he does seem to think that we can magically get enough lessons and practice in to make a difference in less than 5 weeks, somehow that seems pretty unrealistic to me! But if he can convince me, i guess i'll go for it.
Oh! Great news! We are paying off our honeymoon tomorrow. Only thing that's not so great is it's goodbye to another almost $2900!!!
71/86 RSVP's yes, it's not your imagination, the number of invited people has gone up, basically, we had got a fair few 'inabilities' and the numbers were really dropping, so we invited a few extras. The cut off date is tomorrow, so it looks like i'm going to have to do some more chasing.
Your dress is stunning Carolyn.
My ticker has too many 1's in it, i think it needs to rewind. Very scary how in 16 days it'll just be counting weeks and days, not months weeks and days.

As you can see from Amandas' post she is pretty much on top of everything but is pretty pissed off about the cake topper which i can understand but imo i think they are ok.
Im finally going to go dress shopping next week for my MOB outfit i was hoping to loose the extra 5kilos before i baught something but it isnt going anywhere that 5kilos just loves me to much to want to leave me so im adjusting my life around it and buying bigger clothes

Hi Girls,
Kathy, congrats on the new house. Hope the unpacking is not too painful for you

And good luck shopping for your MOB outfit. I'm sure you'll look gorgeous no matter what you wear

Well girls, I have finally finished the invite epic. Next time I get a crazy idea to make up 96 invites, remind me how ridiculously busy my life already is to try squeeze in the time to try play craft as well

I am feeling so very good that they are done though and I'm really happy with how they've turned out (although, I think i'd be happy with anything at this stage

). Here are some pic's for you

Ok, I lied

While I'm on a roll, here is a pic of those damn BM dresses that caused me so much stress (excuse the black shoes, we all rushed in during work lunch to make sure they were O.K before paying and taking home).

The colour is a bit more subtle though. The flash on the camera makes it all shiny.
Here is another one of one of my BM's taken without the flash which is a bit blurry of her but shows the colour a lot better.
Hope everyone had a lovely Australia Day

Back to work for me tomorrow

Our honeymoon is paid off!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!
The great thing is that with any contributions we get, the money is going to get refunded onto our debit card, so at the end of our honeymoon, we are going to have savings

!!!! We already know that we have $180 in contributions and only two people have put in!!
The only things that we have to pay for now is my hair and make up and the celebrant, and then our wedding is completely paid for!!
Today is our 3 year anniversary, we're going out for dinner to 'Pier Nine' on Brisbanes' South Bank, it's right on the river and we have a window table

I wonder what present he got me.......... Today is also our RSVP date, not that we've got all our RSVP's... time to get chasing more vigorously!!

Hi gals,
Jo - love those dresses. They are similar to one that one of my BM's is wearing to her sister's wedding in May. Very nice. Also love the invites - though like you I undertook the labour intensive craft option and I NEVER want to see a piece of vellum or spray glue AGAIN!
Beck - good work with the honeymoon, we are doing the same as you. We paid ours off a few weeks ago, not sure if we have had any contributions yet! I will check when I go in to collect our tickets....god I hope people understand how to use it! Are you doing yours with a travel agent? We are doing ours with Flight Centre.

Hello dears.
Happy anniversary Beck I hope you have a wonderful time tonight.
Well we finally have decided on a plan B for ceremony location if it rains, its in the foyer of our reception place. Im a bit upset that they want to charge us $200 just to use it, considering the money we are paying them for the reception but oh well at least I dont have to worry about rain on the day.
I will try and upload some pics of the reception place and foyer, but it takes forever we can only dial up on 30kb/s here, and apparently we cant get broadband here because of the type of wiring in the area. Need to investigate that a bit more I think slow dial up is sending me insane.

Outside view, do you reckon its a bit nicer than what we had booked on the island?
--M--
Jan 27 2006, 11:47 AM
Everything will be moved out of the way, there will be chairs set up and a red carpet etc After the ceremony there will be canapes and drinks from the bar you can see on the left. And the reception will be behind those double doors

Oh Michelle, your reception is just gorgeous

I love it. You must be wrapped

You're right though, it is a bit rude to charge you extra $$$ with all the cash you are giving them for the reception. I tell you, everyone is out for everything they can get once you mention the 'W' word!. In the end though, it is worth it to have that peace of mind. You must feel heaps better now that you have a 'back up' option

Yay, yay (happy dance), it's all coming together
Thanks so much girls for your lovely comments (Chloe I saw yours to on my other post). It makes all the effort worth it.
Amanda and Laurette, I with you on 'those' blue boxes! Definitely gotta love them

When I get the cufflinks, he can take the links and I'll take the box
I've got my hair and make-up trial tomorrow (with the new make-up guy). I'll post pics. I figure it's all gotta be an improvement, lol!
Have a great weekend girls

Well!! Dinner last night was amazing!!! I felt my main was perhaps a little on the small size but it tasted unbelievable. I had salmon & gnocchi with a delectable creamy and dill sauce with fresh shaved parmesan over the top. Mark had steak, which he said was extremely tender and juicy. I was glad i had space left in my stomach after my main coz for desert we had DEATH BY CHOCOLATE for 2!!!! By the end of that i felt like i had died and gone to heaven! My stomach was so full it felt like i was going to burst though!
As for what he got me, that was a big wow too!! He got me a white gold topaz and diamond necklace, it's beautiful! I'll take a photo soon.
2 more RSVP's so now we're up to 74/86.
That's all for now.

Good to hear your rsvp's are coming in slowly.
Hi Kathy good to see you. I hope the second cake topper is better, even though I thought the first one was pretty cool.
Im still trying to sort out songlists. I cracked a nana last night because I played Neil about 1000 songs for ceremony music and he said no to all of them, so I told him he can organise the music from now on

I think I better get onto the Townsville orchestra to get price list for a few violin players just in case
Laurette
Jan 28 2006, 12:29 PM
Oh Michelle, I feel your pain - I am trying to figure out the songlists at the moment too, it's not real easy.
--M--
Jan 28 2006, 12:57 PM
I listen to lyrics, whilst Neil just listens to how the song sounds, he doesnt want anything too girly, too soppy, too lovey dovey, but not too boring sounding either. I cant win.
I found the most beautiful lyrics and spent ages downloading it, ut its not as nice with music. Here are they lyrics
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I woke up this morning you were the first thing on my mind
I don't know where it came from all I know is I need you in my life
You make me feel like I can be a better woman
If you just say you wanna take this friendship to another place
Chorus
Can I walk with you through your life
Can I lay with you as your wife
Can I be your friend till the end
Can I walk with you through your life
You've got me wondering if you know that I am wondering about you
The feeling is so strong that I can't imagine you're not feeling it too
You've known me long enough to trust that I want what's best for you
If you wanna be happy then I am the one that you should give your heart to
Chorus
Now everyday ain't gonna be, like the summer's day
Being in love for real it ain't like a movie screen
But I can tell you all the drama aside you and I can find what the worlds been
looking for forever friendship and love together
Chorus
Can I walk with you through your life till the day that the world stops turning
Can I walk with you till the day that my heart stops beating
Can I walk with you through your life
Can I walk with you till the end that the birds no longer take flight till the
moon is underwater
Can I walk with you
Can I walk with you
You are everything I've been looking for
Can I walk with you
Creative intellectual
Can I walk with you
Can I walk with you as your wife
-------------------------------------------------------------------
This says everything I want but sounds like crap with music to it.

OK, I am going to go have a search now.
Well, I too am stuck on music. Considering that I haven’t even lodged our notice of intent, then I shouldn’t be worried about music, but I need something to think about. So here is where I am up to with it…
Processional – ‘Lullaby’ by Bond
Signing of the Register – So Beautiful, Darren Hayes and one other song, possibly ‘Suddenly’ by Angry Anderson
Recessional – not decided, maybe ‘nothing’s going to stop us now’ by Starship
Entering the Reception – not decided
Cutting the cake – not decided
Farewell circle – not decided
There is a list of song that I have to choose from;
If I ain’t got you – Alicia Keys and Usher
Suddenly – Angry Anderson
When I see you smile – Bad English
You’re the inspiration – Chicago
Breathe – Faith Hill
All I want is you – U2
I wanna be your everything – Keith Urban (LOVE this, but unsure about using C&W music)
Mad about you – Hooverphonic
Crash into me – Dave Matthews Band
Heaven (candlelight version) – DJ Sammy
More than words – Extreme
It’s your love – Tim McGraw and Faith Hill
Praise You – Fatboy Slim (possibly for entering the reception)
Beautiful in my eyes – Joshua Kadison
A Moment like this – Kelly Clarkson
Listen to your Heart (instrumental) – DHT/Roxette
Only Hope – Mandy Moore
Without You – Motley Crue
Heaven from here – Robbie Williams
Unbreakable – Westlife
You raise me up – Westlife (cover of the Josh Groban song)
More than words – Westlife (cover of the Extreme song)
If anyone knows that any of these songs shouldn’t be used at a wedding, or has a recommendation of where they can slot in, please let me know!
Also, if anyone wants any of these songs, let me know and thou shall email mp3 file.

OMG! we have been struggling all bloody week trying to decide on songs! I thought that we were alone!!
For the ceremony we're having:
Walking down the aisle: Into My Arms - Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds (we were trying to find an instrumental version of this, but it seems impossible)
Signing the register: Rock 'n' Roll's Mine - The Tulips &
When You Say Nothing At All - Ronin Keating
Walking back up the aisle - Closer - Dido
First entrance - All You Need Is Love (we are STILL trying to find a non-sucky version)
First dance - Thank You - Dido
Second dance - One Flight Down - Norah Jones
Cutting the cake - Annie's Song (instrumental on piano)
Boquet toss - Tubthumping - Chumbawumba
Garter Toss - You Can Leave Your Hat On - Tom Jones
And that's it! If any of you have a non-sucky version of all you need is love please let me know (at the moment our last resort is the version by Lynden David Hall from the Love Actually soundtrack).

LOL, Michelle, this sounds exactly like what I am dealing with

I listen to lyrics, and Jase screws his nose up at just about everything I suggest

So far, I've kept putting off the 'music meeting' that I know we'll have to have
The only songs I do know we are having is "All I ask of you" from Phantom of the Opera for me walking down the aisle and a song called "Finally Found" from the HoneyZ as one of the register signing songs. As for the rest ......
You've got a beautiful list of songs to choose from there Laurette. I might have to borrow some of them when I next enter the music battleground
Beck, your dinner sounds yummo - especially the choccie part

The necklace also sounds beautiful. Look forward to seeing pic's!
I had my hair and make-up trial today. I was really happy with it. The new make-up guy was great and I think with his help, I'll scrub up not too badly

My hair stylist is just amazing. I absolutely loved what she did with my hair. It is exactly what I wanted. I'll post some pic's of the trials tomorrow
Good luck in music picking girls!
