aww Laurette **hugs** stick to your guns if this is what you really want. After all the stress, money, planning etc of this wedding, all you will be left with at the end of the day (apart from a husband) are your photos. I think that photos are one of the most important things. I will ring Glenn and have a word with him, silly men to mess with us brides
Hope tomorrow is better chicky

Thanks very much Michelle... I spoke to him last night and turned on the tears... whinged about how he has DONE NOTHING to help with the planning and preparations etc etc, and I am working so hard to create a perfect day for us, and I want the photos to reflect that. I think that that got him. He's not impressed, but I might get my way in the end, I dont know. We'll have to see I guess.

Well that sounds hopeful at least. Im sure he will come around.

Well a very quiet day in March land.
I got an email from my flower lady, she said my flowers are nearly done, and she said they are very "unique" but she said she has got a lot of positive comments from people who have seen them (people in real life, not people from this site) so Im really anxious to see what I have. I have no doubt she has done a wonderful job as usual, I told her to just go for it and create whatever she liked! She also said she is going to put them on her website, so I reckon they will be pretty nice!

What a great start to the day - not.
I posted this in the Sauna Complaints Department Letter and thought i would put it here as well.
Dear Lady who was Making my Cake toppers
Thank you ever so much for breaking my heart and telling me now that you can not make my personalised cake toppers.
You took the job on in November way before you got your 'job promotion'..
Dont you think you should honour the jobs you have already taken? Or would that be courteous to people whom are relying on you?
Did you want to come home with me and break my fiancees heart and explain to him why you cant do the cake toppers?
I didn't think so.
Yours (not) sincerely
Teary, frustrated, cranky B2B
I should have also added that we cant afford to have personalised cake toppers made at $300+ a pop - she was quite affordable at $90 for personalised cake toppers and a ute for the bride and groom to stand in.

Oh Michelle, that sucks (I can see this getting confusing with two Michelle's in here) I am really sorry to hear about the cake topper lady – what a pain in the bum. I think that you should write her a letter to say what you think – similar to the one that you have just posted. Let her know that you think that it was ordinary, and that she should have honoured the committment that she made! I cant believe that she would do that. I guess that that is the peril of being a bride to be – it’s like Murphy’s law, nothing will ever go right the first time.
We went up to have a meeting with the minister last night, and he is away on holidays! We went there, and his son answered the door on like the third ring of the doorbell (I think that he was going to ignore us) and said that he was away in Canberra, due back in the next few days. So that’s professional service for you. I was hoping to organise the OOS with him so that I could start printing them and getting them together etc. Oh well, what can you do I guess. The worst thing about it is that Glenn said to me last week and early this week ‘have you called the minister to confirm’ and I was going ‘it’s OK, it’ll be right’ – so that makes Glenn right and not me. Pfft.
Hey Michelle, your flowers sound like they are going to be stunning. Would you please be able to email or PM me the website addy – I am just interested in checking it out. Thanks!
---
Jan 12 2006, 09:02 AM
Hi Michelle that sucks

I cant belive she would do that to you. I would write her a letter, she has to know how much it is upsetting you and your partner. Even though its not ideal have you thought about an alternative? flowers on top?
Laurette- hopefully your minister will be back soon. The flowers arent on the website yet, she wants to show me first before she puts thenm on here. When i get that magical email from her, I will post the pic on here for you

Hi girls,
Well i'm back at work! I need a holiday from my holiday. My brothers and SIL wedding on NYE was fantastic, my brother couldn't get the grin off his face and SIL looked stunning will have photos next week.
Well you have all been busy over the last two weeks. I'll have to catch up a bit.
Laurette - the dress looks great a bit high at the front, love the detail on the train.
Have a had a few dramas this week and tears. Invites being lost and having to get them redone, and also H2B being no help but i see there are few experincing this problem.
Our invites went out on New Years Eve so most people have recieved them last week got my first 2 wedding acceptence cards in the mail. I really appreciate it that they have gone to the trouble of accepting correctly by sending an acceptence card.
We've got a busy weekend ahead in Griffith.
9am - makeup trial
10am - hair trial
11.30am - choose suits & have H2B fitting
1pm - final meeting with preist
2pm - meet cake maker (choose cake)
Was hoping to go choose a wedding ring, see my florist and reception co-ordintor but will have to wait.
H2B is only coming up for the day but i may stay up until the monday and do the extra jobs then as i have my dress fitting in Wagga on the Sunday morning.
Was very pleased to get a phone call from Country Wedding (riverina wedding website) i entered a proposal comp. and i've won. I've got a $400 voucher from Exclusive Celebrations/Morgan Street Florist so maybe able to get the silk flowers for the back of the chairs or otherwise a chiffon ceiling, mum is going to look for me today.
I will definately get photos of my dress and BM's this weekend to post on tuesday for you, now that our camera is fixed
I'm also on the Job hunt, my job just keeps getting worse and i'll almost take anything just to get away from it, but it's hard when not many position come up around here.
Anyway thought i'd just catch up on all the posts and say hi. Getting very excited now, and since my brothers wedding H2B can wait to make me his wife.
Cheers Girls

Hi Tamara good to see you again. It looks like everything is coming together for you. Well done on winning the voucher!!
Well my resumes went out last night, and I have had 2 phone calls already
the first one was some place offering me 15-20 hours a week

Its not much but its a start I guess
and the second one advising me that they will be advertising a position available 18th jan and that I have to re-apply then along with a selection criteria
Do I take this first one or wait for the second??

Hi Girls,
Wow, it sounds like nearly everyone is having a bit of wedding stress on here at the moment. Cake-toppers, priests, invites.....it's like we have to get chucked a few challenges along the way just to really get under our skin!!
Laurette, you make sure you stick to your guns and get your wedding photographer. Glen should just consider it your payment for wedding co-ordinator services rendered

Although he is not sure at the moment, he will regret not having some nice professional photos that will last your lifetimes if he doesn't agree. Also very annoying about the Priest. Hopefully he will be back soon so you can meet with him.
MichelleBelle, that definitely sucks of the cake topper woman to pull out. If she has/had a business and made a commitment to provide a service, then she should have the integrity to meet those commitments. Especially those so close to their wedding date. It doesn't leave much time or room to source something else at a reasonable price

Definitely send her a letter. You might guilt her into agreeing to do your toppers.
"MichelleA", your flowers sound like they are going to be amazing. I can't wait to see pic's when you get them.

How exciting. I bet you can't wait!
Tamara, you have one busy day ahead to you!

I'm exhausted just reading your schedule for the weekend.

How did your invites get lost? In the mail or by the stationery supplier? I'm glad that it seems to have been sorted out for you though and you are starting to get acceptances back in.

Congratulations also to your brother and new SIL. I'm glad they had a great day. Look forward to seeing the pics of their wedding and YOUR DRESS!!
Michelle, I just saw your new post pop up while I was writing this. I say take the one you have been offered. A bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush they say, and it doesn't stop you applying for the 2nd one anyway. Maybe just tell the 1st place that you will accept but were really looking for something with more hours and if something comes up you may have to take it??
Well, my aggravation to add to our list of things that are pi$$ing us off is my never ending BM dress saga - which is STILL going on. The last update was that I went into the Manager who agreed straight off that supplier stuffed up and they would send dress back to be either let out or remade (one of the other dresses had already been sent back in November). This was early December. I then got a call on 14 December telling me the dresses had been finished and were on their way back. I nearly fell off my chair as this is the first contact they have made with me rather than me ringing them. I rang them on 28/12 to follow up as they were only being sent from Melbourne (presumable on 14th Dec) and was told that they still hadn't arrived but would definitely be there in the New Year

So today is 12 Jan, nearly a month from phone call saying they were being sent from workshop and I ring them because I still haven't heard anything and they are STILL not in. She was very apologetic saying they have been having so many problems with this supplier and have been chasing up nearly every day. The latest story is that after they advised the shop (on 14/12) that they were ready, they decided that one of the dresses didn't have enough fabric to let it out so was being remade. They have promised it will be finished by Monday at the latest (heard that before

), so shop should have them Tuesday or Wednesday.
I just can't believe the complete incompetance of this place. I told the shop woman that if all these problems are because of the supplier, then they need to get rid of the supplier, because no matter how nice the dresses are, people are going to get completely pissed off with the shop and not come back. I ordered these dresses in March last year and they were due to come in July. Seven months later and we are still stuffing around

Not happy Jan. Anyway, whinge over. Anger vented (sorry about the essay

).
Apart from that all is good. I'm getting closer to finishing my invites.

Then I'll be one happy B2B!!
Jo.

Carolyn...we are twin twin !!! I still have heaps to organise as well, cannot believe time is flying so fast.
My Priest has been very extremely busy, he still doesn't have time to meet up with us. Is only two months till our wedding day and I am really freaking out already.
The biggest frustration at the moment is that I still haven't hand out our invitations !!! Our parents still haven't finalised the guest list yet !! so stressed out....
Carolyn
Jan 12 2006, 06:04 PM
Hi Peggy, we too are naughty and are yet to hand out our invites. But we're having a small wedding and all our friends know they are invited, so the invites are really just about the details of time and place.
I should check in here more often. It might get me moving quicker, lol.

Unfortunately i can't post photos as i'm not going to be there, but i'm glad to be able to tick off another task.
Now if only i can get the travel agent to pull his head out of his a$$........
RSVP update: 40/81 RSVP's, basically halfway there!

Hey Beck congrats on getting another task on your list done.
I just realised that you girls getting married in early March have the 1 MONTH mark in your ticker

I had to double check and its scared that crap out of me to know that we are getting this close. I have a bit of comfort in knowing my ticker still has 2 months.
Cold feet anyone?

Hi twinnies!
I'm also getting married in March. I'm on Sunday 26th and we're having a lunchtime wedding and ceremony. The boy is currently working on our invites while I'm playing on I-Do (delegate, delegate!).
So far I'm feeling sorta organised, considering we only got engaged in October last year. We're planning our wedding interstate from Sydney and we won't even have time to check stuff out before we arrive! Might get a few surprises on the day! It's been pretty hectic planning a wedding in 5 months, but getting married on the Sunday has helped us a lot to secure bookings.

Hey Karen! Welcome to the March 2006 thread... I am sure that we will continue to keep you entertained while your H2B does all the work.
Well, my update is that Glenn was arguing with me about the $$ that I had booked in to spend with the photographer and videographer - he doesnt think that we need a videographer or a digital photooalbum. Little does he know that he;s getting both, whether he likes it or not. Pfft.
So I yelled at him because he's always making everything difficult... it annoys the begeesus out of me that he has done NOTHING to organise this wedding, nothing at all, and then he lectures me on what I do organise.
So yesterday, while I was in Canberra to see Claire's wedding, (bright bride - she looked sensational, about to upload the photos that I took) he rings me while I am on my way there and tells me that he phoned a guy in town that he knew did videos/DVDs to see if he did weddings and if there was any way we could have a look at some samples, and he said no, but that he did know a bloke in Cootamundra who does them, so he gave Glenn his number.
Glenn phoned him, and he does do weddings - both houses getting ready, ceremony, photos, reception, cake, first dance, and will even stay to the end of the reception for the bouquet toss etc if we want him to - all for the low low price of $750.
Which is a bargain. He is going to post us a copy of the last wedding DVD that he did for us to have a look at, and if it's what I'm after we'll go with him. If this works out, Glenn had just saved us about $900. Have to be happy with that!
I am going to phone the minister tonight and see if we can make another appointment to see him, since he didnt bother turning up to the last one

Hi Karen and welcome

Congratulations for planning a wedding in 5 months - and from interstate!! I have been planning my wedding from interstate and its a pain in the bum. I wont see many things until the day either which sucks, but luckily Im easy going so it shouldnt be too bad. I didnt see the reception location in flesh until recently (had only seen on internet) and it was pretty bad so we lost $1000 deposit we had put on it, but oh well the hazards of planning an interstate wedding I guess
Oh awesome news Laurette! Yay for Glenn. Lets hope the priest turnes up to the second appointment.
Sue might be posting my flowers this week, but still havent seen a pic of it yet

Yes, he's done well. Mum is coming over to Temora this afternoon to try the lining of Brittany's dress on her, so that she can start on the actual dress. It should be very cute.
Karen, where abouts are you getting married?
Michelle, I am looking forward to seeing the pics of your flowers. Also, jsut wanted to say that I love the sentence in your sig, it's so right, hey.
Wonder how Kathy's move is going...

Jan 15 2006, 07:15 PM
Kathy sent me a message a few days ago she is staying at a holiday house until she can move into her new place. I hope she comes back soon I miss her!
Laurette - yeah that sentence sums it up for me. Even though it sucks to move all over the place (this was my 3rd move in 2 years, first went from Townvsille to Puckapunyal, then to Melbourne, now to darwin

) what choice do I have? I might whinge about having to find new jobs and unpack etc but I wouldnt have it any other way...At least Im here for 2 years before I have to move again.

Hi again,
Ellerson, I'm planning a Perth wedding from Sydney. My parents have been checking a few places out, but in the end it turned out to be more stress than it's worth as we kept disagreeing over what the wedding should be like. Since they're paying for a good chunk I didn't like to disagree too strongly.
I hope our venue isn't too bad. Both our parents like it so at least someone will be happy! Losing a $1000 deposit! ouch... We're pretty easygoing about things too so I've not been finding the planning too stressful.
I hope the videographer works out Laurette! We ended up booking a photographer for $650 and are really happy with that (other quotes came to $2,600!!). We're not having a lot of photos, just the ceremony and friends and family afterwards.
Moving sucks. I've moved at least once every couple of years for the past ten years, but now that we've bought a place I hope we stay put for a while.
We start pre-marital counselling this week. Hope it's interesting..

Hi Girls
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!
Karen, welcome to i-do. Good on you for organising your wedding in just 5 months and from interstate!! I think I would stress myself out way to much if I tried to do this

I'm getting married the day before you so we are weekend twinnies

Are you moving to Perth?
Laurette, I'm impressed with Glen searching down that photographer/videographer at such a great price. He obviously worked out that this was one thing you weren't going to back down on, so got off his bum and did his own research
Michelle, can Sue email you a pic of your flowers? You must be dying to see them!
I did a bit of running around on the weekend and got a few little things done. Bought the organza bags for my bon-bon's, put in the BM's hankies to be embroidered, Jase took his Dad in for suit fitting and picked the vest colours/styles for himself and GM's and bought a couple of things for the honeymoon. Only little things, but good to get them done.
Laurette, I got brave and typed up a "still to do" list like your's. OMFG!!! I knew there was a reason I was too scared to do this. It is HUGE!!

Admittedly, it is every single little thing to be done, but still .......@#$%$#@ (insert lots of swear words).
I am having my hair and make-up trial this coming Saturday. I'm really looking forward to this and hoping the hairdresser will come up with something I like because I'm kind of not 100% sure what I want. I had a make-up trial when I first booked, but I figure I may as well get another one with the hair to see it all together. I'll post some pic's so you guys can give me your honest opinions.
Jo.

Yep I know exactly what you mean. We will be engaged almost 2 years, and while I dont mind benig engaged this long, its starting to take its toll on me now, being so close Im starting to stress a bit. The planning the wedding from interstate thing is growing old on me too. Today I just feel like having a sook. Trust me do always do things the most difficult way possible.
Your honeymoon sounds great. We arent taking one straight away as neil cant get anymore time off work, and we need a chance to save for it so we dont go into debt (we're already in enough debt though, a few more thousand shoudlnt hurt hehe

We wanted to be different, the FH parents gave us their pop up caravan for our wedding present so we figured we are going to put it to good use.
id like to see the Sapphire Coast and go back to Kiama and we both want to do the QLD theme parks (sole reason for driving to QLD!) so we made a mutual decision

Before I go to bed I just want to say thank you to Laurette and Chloe for listening to me whinge today. I am actually starting to feel a bit better as I have formulated a plan in my head(as discussed with Chloe). There is a spotlight in Darwin and I will just have to be extremely sneeky and do a little handy-work myself. Neil is being a cranky bugger I can understand why, I pushed my luck to change the reception to the mainland, back then I said if I changed my mind again he would divorce me, well I have changed my mind again. More money down the drain
For those who have no idea what Im talking about, Im more than happy to discuss it via PM as I dont want to broadcast it here for certain reasons, Im sure once you find out you will understand.
Lets just say Im not a very happy bride at the moment. Although Im trying to focus on the big picture and not stress about insignificant little details.
I am overtired, depressed and hormonal so I will leave it there
Love Michelle

Do you know if you are going up or down? I'm still not sure what I want but I'm 95% sure it is going to be up as my hair is very fine and looks scrappy and messy when it's down. Just don't know what type of up.
Damos-Gurl, your honeymoon sounds great. I love caravan and camping. I used to do it heaps when I was younger, but haven't had a chance to go for ages. You will have such a nice time. The beaches are so beautiful on the Sapphire coast.

It feels like the closer we get to our dates the more stressful things are becoming? Or is this just me? Our latest dilema is with the cars. H2B wants to use utes - which is great i love utes as much as he does but i really dont want to have to be worried about treading on my train and getting the whole dress in the front of a holden ute... I am tryin to compromise with him though - we have a car for us and possibly have the utes for the bridesmaids - their skirts are pretty straight.
It just seems like at the moment that just when i get one thing figured out something else comes along to throw a spanner in the works. Why, oh why cant things just work out easily? I am trying to be strong but sometimes all i want to do is sit down and cry - just release the pressure.
On the up side of things i have finished printing my order of service booklets and just need to cut and tie ribbon to them - one more thing to mark off the list.
I dont know which i am hanging out for more, the wedding, the six weeks i am taking off from work, or the hair cut i am having the monday after the wedding?? All of them have their benefits!!
I was sitting there this morning waiting to leave for work and was looking at my engagement ring on my finger and i just could not imagine a wedding ring their with it - it just seemed so unreal - soon i will be married - i will be known by another name.
Michelle, it sounds like you have a lot happening at the moment, I hope everything is alright - it sounds like you have made some grteat friends here who care and can offer advice and support - thats always a great feeling.
At least it is wednesday - one day closer to friday!

H2B is already picking our names for our children - and i am like just one thing at a time please!!

PMSL MichelleBelle, you make me laugh.
I know what you mean about it all coming up so quickly… we still haven’t had the next meeting with the minister, we are going to be cutting it fine coming up to the wedding! At least I have a week more than you to get organised, PMSL!
Oh, the similarities – I am also have 6 weeks off work and am looking forward to the Monday March 13 hair cut… it’s already booked, we leave for the honeymoon on the Tuesday!
I know what you mean about there always being something else happening that tests you… for us it’s the cars also. We are borrowing a new GT of one of my dad’s friends, and it’s a bit scary. The more that I think about it, the more that it worries me that something might happen to it. So I am stressing. And I really want our friend Luke to drive me, and I know that he wont be stupid in the car, but I don’t want to spend the entire day with my heart in my mouth, full of anxiety – I want to be able to relax at some stage!
So Luke has a purple XR8 that he could just drive us in, which would match our theme fine, as the other cars are XR6’s… it would be the bridal car, and that way he gets to drive his own, he can drive me, with me relaxing. The other cars are black, white and silver, so that’s the theme there… I think that the purple will fit in.
Am I rambling?
In other news, I had a bit of a disagreement with my mum after she told me that she doesn’t even know why I am getting photos done, because of the way that I look. She means because I am so overweight. I wanted to scream at her, but what can you do. We are now paying for all the photography ourselves, and I have spoken to the photographer and we have worked out how we are going to pay for it, so that’s a weight off my mind, knowing that we don’t have to come up with all the $$ in one go.

What is it with people and weddings and weight? My H2B tries to subtly motivate me to got for a walk and things but they way he does it makes me feel like he is putting me down when i know he isnt.
WHy for one day of our lives can people not focuse on weight but focus on the happiness and the love? Is this too much to ask for??
Laurette, i would go with the Xr8 - they are so beautiful a car and for it to be in purple! I would love to have it!! It would also fit in perfectly with my colour scheme and i would also love to have your other cars!! HOw gorgeous will they look on the day!
I know what you mean about worrying about drivers and other peoples cars - the last thing you would want is for something to happen to them. And if you are anything like you you can always imagine the worst possible scenario happening.
I cant believe that you too are also getting you haircut the monday after! Our honeymoon is being planned around my haircut! I am getting so sick of wearing it in a ponytail day in and day out. If i had not alway imagined having my hair up for my wedding then it would have gone weeks ago.
Its good that the photographer has come up with a payment plan for you. I think that the photographers know how expensive they are and that not everyone can afford to come up with that amount - esp with all the other associated costs with a wedding - so they need to have a payment plan option available.
I believe we will be gorgeous on our day. What other day do you get pampered as much, hair, make up, nails the works. And at the end of the day it is only that one face waiting for you at the end of the aisle that matters.

I think that I have made up my mind – I will be going with the purple car. The other GT fits in with the other cars too – as it’s the same shape as the XR, just better! They have the bigger engine and the stripes down the side, and all that jazz. Also, I think that the purple one will look good in photos against the pink flowers… what do you all think?
CHLOE! Where are you? Do you have anything to update us on? Miss your smile !!!
MichelleA, where are you today? I love the idea of just buying a stem a week or so – you’re a thinker! How is the job hunting going? Are you job hunting at all? Or waiting until after the wedding?
I spend way too much time on here thinking about weddings rather than actually doing stuff.

hey girls

Michelle Belle good to hear from you again. Im sorry to hear you are having car trouble. You are so lucky to get 6 weeks off work! Where are you going on your 6 weeks off? I would love to chop my hair off, but its so thick short hair doesnt suit me as it boofs out

But in this weather I'd love short hair.
Laurette the purple car sounds great I love that type of car. (Even though Im not a car person) I know what you mean about stressing that someone might damage the car, we were looking at hiring 2 silver chrystlers, but the excess on a crash was WAYYY more than we could afford. So we went with a limo yay!!
PS your list is still making me have heart palpatations. Im sorry to hear what your mum said to you. If we all went by her way of thinking then not many people would have photographers, I certainly wouldnt. By the way just for the record I reckon you look gorgeous you have this glow about you, so just ignore her!
Today is neils first day at his new work, my first day as an official housewife. Man I hope I pick up work soon.
I spoke to mum earlier today and she said not to worry. She said she will organise the house decorations for me.

to Neil I will win afterall

Hi Girls,
Laurette, I got so angry reading that post about your Mum's comment. I felt like getting in the car and coming up there to have a "word" with her

My goodness, this is your Wedding day! Of course you want photo's to remind you of what will be one of the happiest days of your life. And you WILL look stunning! Just wait until the day and she see's you. She'll have to eat all her words
On a happier note, I think the purple car sounds great

It will look great against the girls and their flowers and most importantly, you won't stress all day about the car!!
MichelleBelle, well done on nearly finishing your OOS. I haven't even started mine. In fact, we haven't even choses our hymns or readings yet

Once the invites are out of the way, this will be my next big job.
Michelle, LOL at your idea at getting one stem a week! Neil won't even notice
I got the confirmation of our booking for our hotels in Vietnam today. We booked the bulk of our Honeymoon through the travel agent - everything except the accommodation in Vietnam, because we have a friend in the industry. She sent off an email to some contacts in the Sheratons at both Hanoi and Saigon, and they have now confirmed the bookings with upgrades if available at discounted rates. Very happy Jan

We'll be staying at a few other places in Vietnam on the way up from Saigon to Hanoi, but we are just going to wing it and book something while there. There are plenty of hotels and the lonely planet gives heaps of recommendations. I soooo can't wait!
This is a bit of an odd question, but has anyone happened to have had a Brazilian in Sydney and can recommend somewhere to me? I've finally worked up the courage and decided to do it.

I have a regular place where I get my legs and bikini-line done, but I don't know if they do regular Brazilians and I want someone who knows what they are doing. Also, do you get really red or pimply there afterwards (sorry if TMI)? How far before the wedding should I get it done?
Jo
