Laurette,

Tamarras' invites a great and thanks for posting them.

What colour are they as my computer is showing them as a tan colour.

kathyxxx
Laurette
I think that they are gold/natural from what I can see smile.gif
--M--
Im not having a bridal shower. (at least not that I know about anyway)

Laurette - my weekend went quick too. We are off to see HP tomorrow night! What song are you sending me?

Tamaras invites are beautiful. I love them smile.gif

Well I had my facial, just what the dr ordered, but alas they are not miracle workers I am still pretty gross to look at. I walked out after parting ways with almost $300, I dont think I will tell Neil about that ph34r.gif
Laurette
Oh bugger, Michelle that's a lot of money! I am sure that you feel like a million bucks though!

I have been trying to get U2 ticks.... no luck. I am seriously cranky, I wanted Melbourne ones, for when we are on our honeymoon.
Kathy W
Michelle,

Happy to hear that you had/enjoyed your facial but $300 hope you purchaced some products as well.

kathyxxx
--M--
Yeah Im a sucker and get conned into buying miracle creams hehe
Laurette
I do that too... I use dermalogica, and love them... so I guess that it's worth the money. But the thing is, It costs me about $500 a year on skincare, but all the products last 12 months, so it feels like ages until you have to fork out for them again.
--M--
She's put me onto this vitamin c stuff, which will clean by skin up before my wedding (yeah right I doubt it) but she has written up which dermalogica products I should use after the wedding. Meanwhile if N finds out how much I have spent at that place since I started going a few months ago, there wont be a wedding to look good for hehe. ph34r.gif
Laurette
Hmm, I know - it's expensive stuff.

What dermalogica has she recommended?

I use the;

skin prep scrub
special foaming gel cleanser
ultra rich body cream
multi active toner ( I think that's what it's called)
activ moist (for face)
calming booster (goes under moisturiser to heap sooth redness in my cheeks)

And a few other things that dont get used every day...

Oh, I also have their shampoo/conditioner, which I bought from strawberrynet, but I also use the PPS blonde shampoo, as my hair is bleached, and I really like it a lot more.

--M--
essesntial cleansing solution
multi active toner
skin purifying wipes
daily microfoliant
active moist
skin refining masque

She said to email her from Darwin when I need these , year right I'll be geting them from the net!
Laurette
ha! That's hilarious. That's the toner that I have too. I just forgot the name.

Yes, strawberry net is cheaper, but in the Body and Soul forum, I started a Dermalogica appreciation thread, and Chauntelle posted a website that is even cheaper, and it's in Australia. Check that out too!
beckabunny
I did didly-squat this weekend. It went so quickly, as usual!

Tamara's invites look fabulous!

The rest of my invites went in the mail on saturday afternoon, so they're all posted, and i've already got one RSVP!!

Today is SSSSSSSOOOOOOOO HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it feels like it's a million degrees.

we need air-con STAT!!!

I don't really use any beauty products, they cost too much and they hardly ever seem to work. I just use the OLAY cleanser every second morning in the shower and that's it! Twelve different creams in more than i can be bothered using, i'm very lazy when it comes to skincare.

Beck
Laurette
I hated skincare too Beck, nothing seemed to work until I got on to Dermalogica, and they are just the best.

Michelle, I also just remembered that I have the multivitamin hand and nail cream, which was about $40 from the store, and it's fabulous. I have it on my desk here, and use it every morning when I get in and when I leave for home time. My nails have been amazing since I started using it. Before, they would get to a certain length, and then split and break. Now, it's like they're not even real... cept that they are!
Kathy W
Hi girls,

Beck,

Way to go on getting your invites out and you already have your first rsvp.

On looking after your skin girls moisturise and drink heaps of water and stay out of the sun or use blockout take it from me i know what damage the sun can do.

Once there is sun damage there is no going back.

Nothing short of a facelift is gonna fix the sun damage to my face laugh.gif

kathyxxxx
Laurette
hey, girls - not too long now until we reach 2000 posts! My god! laugh.gif
--M--
I dont like using all that face stuff either, but I decided to make an effort so that hopefully i will see a difference for the wedding. Neil got home and I confessed that I spent a lot, but havent quite told him how much ph34r.gif He said it doesnt matter he would never stop me spending money awww I wub.gif him so much!

I got an email from my little sister, saying how excited she is about my wedding, asking me if I wantt her to grow her hair etc and she told me she will probably cry for most of my weddnig day. She is going to be my main woman, and Im so glad she is so enthusiastic has already applied for a week off before hand to help me out. The ironic thing is 3 years ago we hated each other so much (as many sisters do) but we get on so well now. Its the comlete opposite to my other bridesmaid, my older sis, she hasnt shown much interest at all.

I thought Id share a pic, this is the reason why we have to replace all the screens at our house before we move next week. Naughty Kitty. mad.gif but she is so cute I cant stay mad for long

hello all,
i just wanted to tell you all that me and my bridesmaids done a full dress up rehursal (sp) on the weekend and i highly recommend it, things really do fall into place!!!

i have my dress at home now and just want to keep trying it on - gotta get the moneys worth!!

hope all is well with everyone
Laurette
Hi Ebony! Great to see you here!

I plan on having a full dress rehearsal with the BMs at the dressmakers' in the coming weeks (before Christmas anyway) as their dresses are due to arrive this week, and my corsolette shouldnt be too far away either, I dont think.

Michelle, that is one cute cat.
--M--
I cant do full dress rehersal yet because I dont have BM dresses. They could walk around with the brown material draped over them with heels, might give the same impression hehe
Laurette
My girls dresses SHOULD all be too big... but who knows. None of them have lost weight (like I can talk, though)
Kathy W
Hi girls,

Eb,

Good to see you here PHOTOS PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

Michelle,

That man of yours is such a sweetie letting you spend $$$ without question. Now as for your cat well im not a cat person but the photos you have posted have given me a few laughs.

kathyxxx
--M--
did I tell you girls I STILL dont have boxes? Removalst comes on Monday.. I called the removalist comapny, and said we dont have our boxes (we are meant to recieve them 2 weeks prior to being posted) and he goes, yeah they will be delivered to you on the 23rd.. I was like, mate, we leave on the 13th blink.gif blink.gif

Neils marching out parade is tomorrow, Im so proud of him, he is gradulating with the best marks in his class.
Laurette
PMSL at the removalist Michelle, that's kinda amusing.

Well, I took my new golf sticks out for a bash last night - I had so much fun, although i am sore in the inside of my arms today. Never mind.

We are getting Austar back on next week... Glenn had it before we lived together, so he's been without it for over 12 months now...

He tells me that he cant possibly go another summer without live sport.... pfft to him I reckon!
--M--
If it wasnt happening to me I woud laugh too.

I want Austar so I can see my boys play footy. Apparently in Darwin they still show AFL on tv *sobs*

Good on you for playing with your sticks!
yes_chef
Hello all,

I'm getting married on March 17,2006 and at this point the only thing I have booked is the reception. I figure that if we can't get a celebrant we'll just have the party anyway and get married at the registry later.

I don't even have a dress yet because i'm positive that I need to lose a few kilos before I commit to anything....

That said, it's only 15 weeks to go so maybe I should get my act together!

Hope you are all well underway with your plans - I will look to you guys for inspiration!
tamarajnixon
Thank Laurette for posting my invites.

They are gold, & morrocan gold paper by Christina Re. Absolutely love them.

Cheers
Tamara
Laurette
Hi! Welcome to the March 2006 thread!

I think that yes, you had best get on with your plans! Remember that you have Christmas and New Year between now and the wedding, so that will cut a few weeks off your time available... lots of places close down over this period!

best of luck with the planning, and we are all here to help should you need it!
beckabunny

Sue is going to add one more flower to it right on the end.

Beck
Laurette
I wanna see it now and then again please!
--M--
I want to see too!! I cant wait until Sue finishes mine ( I think she has recently started them)

Hi yes chef, Im getting married on 18th March.

We're off to see HP tonight
beckabunny
ok, here's my bouquet!!!!

Sue is going to put one more of those purple ones right at the end of the tip.

I will post a pic as soon as it's done.

What do all you girls think of my flowers?

Beck
Laurette
I love them Beck, I can see now what you were after, in comparison to the original lot.

They look fantastic!

ooh, Michelle, cant wait to hear what you think of the movie!

i am off to make lasagne...
Laurette
Well, the lasagne was a failure - the cheeses sauce was too runny, so I tried thickeneing it in the microwave but it just boiled over and mad a mess. So we had lasta sheets, meat and cheese layers, wasnt too bad!

Who would have thought that you could stuff up 'empty packet into heatproof bowl or jug and add 250ml of boiling water - whisk with fork until smooth'.

Michelle, I am going to try real hard noo to get on i-do today, as I need to do some (lots of) work. though, can you please email me to talk about your HP experience, if you are home today? Thanks sweet! it just might be enough to keep me from going batty!
--M--
Ohh Laurette why dont you make the cheese sauce from scratch its so easy! I make the pasta sauce from scratch too.

Beck I LOVE your bouquet I bet you are thrilled with them! One more purple flower will just complete it. Well done, the rest are gorgeous too!

Well Neil printed our envelopes last night, so now I am busy tying ribbon around the cards. Laurette, we have 65cm/card, and we tried to be stingy and go 60cm, but it just doesnt look any good so make sure you practice with various lengths before you order and cut them! Although if youve got thinner ribbon the bows might tie better than my thick ribbon.. So far I have tied a grand total of 3 ribbons, who knew that getting the bow to look perfect is such hard work.

We are including this in the invites so I have to duck down and buy more paper to print it -

We hope that you will join us, on this our special day,
To celebrate our union in a very special way.
We don’t expect anything, but if you agree
We thought that we would have instead, a little money tree.
We'll be flying back home as we live interstate
And no excess baggage charges would be really great!
So please don't be offended at our new type of request,
Just by having you there, we will feel very blessed.

What do you think?

I have to clean the house up again, Ive got both sets of N's family coming here today (to get ready for his march out parade at 1pm) and they dislike each other, so should be interesting!
Laurette
Michelle, I do know how to make cheese sause, but this has just been so much easier in the past... dont know what I did wrong last night! Nver mind, it still tasted OK when it came out of the oven smile.gif

I know what you mean about the ribbon bows - they are difficult! I have ordered 65cm per invitation, and catered for 10 more invitations then I actually have, and then on top of that... have ordered an extra 10 metres. So I will work it out properly with the first one, then cut all the others from there on in to suit.

I hope that you have fun at the march out smile.gif Pics please!

Also, I love the poem that you are going to use - really really good.

That reminds me that I have to organise a wishing well poem... I know that there are heaps, but it has to be perfect...
Kathy W
Hi Girls,

Laurette,

Cheese sauce is easy as to make:

1x tablespoon of melted butter

1x tablespoon of plain flower

milk

cheese

melt butter stir in flower on a low heat for about 2 min

slowly stir in milk until you get the thickness you want

add cheese and keep on a low heat till cheese is melted through

Yummo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beck,

Loves your flowers Sue does a wonderful job.

Michelle,

How did the family meeting go???????????????

Chef,

Welcome to i-do

Laurette
My shoes arrived girls... they are perfect, although a little tiny bit big. I am scared though that if I get the smaller size, then then will be too small. I will take them home and have a wander around on the carpet with stockings and see how they feel then.
--M--
a bit extreme
Laurette
Oh Michelle, your post almost had me in tears! I totally understand how that would make you feel!

I think that you shoudl definetly get it drycleaned TOMORROW and tell him TOMORROW that he needs to pay for it! And then ask him how he would like it if you spewed in your brand new Falcon.

I hope that he appreciates what you have done for him, and isnt just all horrible about it.

(((((((HUGS)))))))) baby
--M--
hey Laurette thanks for that. Drycleaners are coming today. It stuffs up my plans for today GRR as I am waiting around for them to come. Yes he will be paying every cent.

Im sure he will be very regretful and very embarressed at work today. neil said that on the way home taking him back to base to sleep it off he was saying sorry over and over. Im just disgusted that a grown man who is ranked above everyone else can let him get into that state. He was beyond drunk.

On the bright side, this has just reinterated for me that I am marrying the right man. The way he looked after this guy last night, cleaning him up getting him home to bed, and then had to come home and face me and calm me down (was not in a very good mood as you can imagine) he just amazed me. I am so proud of him.

--M--
The march out parade-

Well the inlaws turned up and were well behaved. We got to the base and walked to the parade grounds. The boys did a bit of marching around to military music. There were a few speeches. Our boys got presented with certificates signifying that they had all passed the course. Then they handed out special awards to those who achieved highly.

They handed out 3 awards in total. And Neil got 2 of them wub.gif he got Student of Merit - which basicly means he was the best all rounder, helping others out achievering hightly etc. He also got a cisco award for maintaining an average of 98.7%.

I am so proud of my boy. I have said all along he is smart its nice that he finally got regognised. When his name got called I just wanted to jump up and cheer for him and then run out and give him a hug, but I had to stay seated until after the ceremony!

This is him going up to collect his first award
user posted image
Laurette
Ow Wow! Michelle, that is EXCELLENT!

I feel all gooey reading your last two posts - I reckon that you're marrying the right man too. It's good when something like this happens, it just reiterates how special you are to each other!

xxx
Laurette
Have you got boxes yet? You could start packing whilel waiting for the drycleaner? I hope that your car isnt in the sun in the meantime... eew
--M--
Yeah boxes got delivered. somehow I dont feel like packing now after the week Ive had.

Yes the car is in the sun, windows are down. It bloody smells. Neil said this morning can you check it again for chunks as the drycleaners dont deal with chunks. I said Neil, I dont deal with chunks either. wacko.gif

I feel rather queasy just thinking about it.
Kathy W
Hi girls,

Laurette,

How did the shoes go????

Michelle,

EWWWWWWW how gross nothing worse than vomit in a car.

Hope the dry cleaners can get it all out.
