Just a question on surnames. If I keep my surname - will I still be classed as Mrs? or will I be Ms? |
Hi girls,
Michelle,
On your question about being a ms or mrs.
Regardless of whether you take his name or not you will be known as a mrs.
Ms is reserved for divorced and women above 18yrs of age who arent married so at the moment you are a ms not a miss.
You girls have been busy I cant believe it is 108 days until march 18th girls will be walking down the isle and even shorter for you Laurette.
You have to pm your mobiles so i can send you text on your big days to see how its going.

Hi Girls,
Sorry I've been a slacka$$ and haven't been in to say hello for over a week! I had 7 pages to catch up on. You girls have all been so busy!
Laurette - How are your golf clubs going? Jase plays as well and I've had a few lessons and do want to get some more, but I just don't hae time atm. I'm pretty bad too, so I think I'll be needing lots and lots of help
Chloe - I love your invites. They look very elegant and professionally done. You clever thing.

I read your post about getting the Brazilian. I have been thinking of doing this for the wedding (never had it done before - only standard bikini line and scissor trims). If you don't mind me asking, does it get itchy when it grows back??
Michelle - only one day of work to go for you.

Tomorrow we can all have huge Happy Dances with you

I love your invites too. You look very simple and elegant. Great choice of colours
Kathy - Amanda sounds soooo organised. Every time you give us an update on things ticked off, I hide further behind my pillow. I was thinking about your present to her, how about a locket with a picture of you and your Mum in it? And then when she passes it down, she can put a picture of herself in it (so her daughter has her Mum and Grandmum in it). I have a locket with pic's of my little brother and sister in it and I treasure it.
Beck - congrats on your new TV and booking your Honeymoon. It all makes it that much more real doesn't it. You new honeymoon ticker is very cute.
Rochelle - your flowergirl dress is very cute! She is going to look adorable. I went flowerdress/junior BM shopping with my little sister on the weekend (she is 10). I had a look on ebay, but my sister has got a little belly and short body, so I was worried I'd get something that doesn't fit/suit her. I figured it was safer to take her shopping and buy something. We found a gorgeous dress that will look lovely on her, so I've paid a deposit and it comes in around Jan/Feb. But boy, do those bridal shops charge a fortune. Ridiculous. It cost more money than most of the dress (formal included) in my wardrobe
Laurette and Chloe, I had to laugh about your recent dreams (boys cheating/weddings being called off etc). I had a dream last week too that Jase suddenly called off the wedding with no explanation. I kept asking him the whole next day - are you sure you want this wedding, do you really want to marry me

He just kept shaking his head at me and saying 'bloody i-do' as we suspect it's because of all the break-ups that have been happening around here lately.
I picked up my BM dresses last Thursday and am feeling very pi$$ed off with them. To cut a long story short, when I ordered one of the dresses we ordered it as a size 10 but with an extra 1" added to the pattern, as my Mum (who is MOH) fit the size 10 but was worried it might be too tight if she put on a bit of weight, but the size 12 would have been way to big. Anyway, my friend came with me to pick up the dresses (as my Mum is back in Perth) and as she is size 10, I got her to try on the store 10 and then my Mum's 10 (which was supposed be with an extra 1 inch). She did and my Mum's dress was, if anything, tighter than the store 10. I complained and they were trying to tell me "oh, but the store dresses stretch a bit from girls trying them on" - what, a whole extra inch!!! I don't think so! They are now sending it back to the manufacturer to check against the pattern. Also, last night, one of my other BM's - who ordered an 8 - which fit perfectly when trying on 8 in the store - tried on her dress last night and it is too small. She swears she hasn't put on any weight (and it doesn't look like she has), so I have to speak to them about that one as well. I'm not happy Jan. The dresses are $450 each, so they are not cheap and the attitude was very much "it's your problems, not ours", which really got me mad. If they ring me up and tell me that my Mum's dress is the right size, Jase will go in and chuck some scary lawyer words their way.
Oops, I've just seen how long this post is. Sorry girls. That's what happens when you miss a week!
I'll pop in again later,
Jo.

Hi,
Jo,
I was thinking about a locket with photos in it like you said.
Stick to your guns about bm's dresses and dont let the shop/dressmaker get away with not making them in the right size.
kathyxxx
Hey Jo good to see you

No good about the BM dresses

I hope it can be sorted out.
I got a pic of the flower that will be in my bm bouquet - I am in love. I am so confident that sue will do a wonderful job. I told her to just go for it and make what she likes, I dont have any real preferance and I trust her 110%
A bit happy

And I have a bottle of wine chilling ahh does it get any better?

Tee hee!
Errm, not really. I guess if you keep up with the waxes, by the time you might get 'itchy', its time to go back. Probably at least 3 to 4 weeks, if not longer. I generally find waxing a pain (pardon the pun!) cos you usually have to wait for regrowth long enough to wax again. For your brows and legs and underarms, this means 3 weeks of looking like a lady, then 2 or so weeks of looking bushy and unkept. Brazillians however sort of grow back and you look pretty natural (cos the hair is usually there) and you can wait a little longer if you want to rewax, or keep it fairly frequent.
I won't lie to you, it hurts but the a good waxer can get it done in 10 mins and you're out of there!

Jo and Chloe... speaking of, I had mine done tonight... plus my eyebrows, and dare I say it, my upper lip. It was the first time that I have had that done, and geez it makes a difference.
I have just unpacked all my golf sticks... they are so pretty. I will have to take a photo of them... off to do that now...

Ah well! i'm sure we'll win the lotto or something one day and then i can quit!
An update on the invite saga. Mum has posted the only interstate one a few days ago and she is apparently posting all the invites for the people who live really far away (but still in victoria) today. Apparently the rest of them are getting posted on Monday

I think i forgot to mention it somewhere along the line, but my RSVP date is 27th January, which is our 3yr anniverary. This still gives us approx. two weeks to chase up any straglers.

I so want to go home… I am not liking today at all.
Only half an hour more until lunch, and I am going home to have a lie down. My head hurts… I have taken Panadol and drunk some water and got up and had a walk around, and all the rest of it… but my body is doing strange things. I have a shocking headache and my legs are aching…
Do you ever have that feeling where you just feel so shithouse you just feel like bursting into tears? That’s me right now.
And I was so looking forward to the weekend, and now it turns out that I will have to work some of it, which I am NOT looking forward to at all.
I just had to have a whinge to someone, so thanks for reading if you managed to get through the first 4 paragraphs of crap.

CONGRATULATIONS MICHELLE ON YOUR LAST DAY AT WORK!!!!
I'm distraught. Last night, I was on the computer (as usual) and spilt curry all over the keyboard. This is a keyboard I've had for over 8 years now. Sniff. And it died. And I bought a crappy one today that is CRAPPY. can't type properly and keep having to go back and retype things. Problems is they only make crappy keyboards nowadays.
Good news is that I've bought all my stamps for the invitations. I bough these gorgeous rose stamps - did you know they actually booklets of wedding stamps? I didn't get those cos the roses were pretty. So, I have the materials, the stamps. Just need to make the invitations now...
Love Chloe.xoxo

Oh bugger Chloe – no good at all!
I am sure that you will (maybe) get used to it? In time, you will adapt, yes? If not, go and splurge on a good one!
I only have a laptop at home, and it’s got a great keyboard, although I find it hard being at work all day and having the big keyboard, and then only having a little one at home.
I am feeling better this afternoon, thanks Chloe. I went home and had a nanna nap at lunch time and it fixed me up!
It is raining here pretty hard… and lots of it! It’s bad because now I cant go and play golf tonight, and we’re in harvest, so it’s bad for the crops, but it’s good because now I don’t have to work tomorrow (no harvest when it’s raining!) I feel horrible saying that though, because we really don’t want the rain.
I guess that I will just have to practice putting in the loungeroom!
Michelle, how did the resignation go>

Well it has come to an end. In the end I was a bit sad to leave the people, they were ok, just the conditions weren't very good. Its always sad saying goodbye, this is the second job Ive had to leave this year (First in May when we moved to melb from Pucka) Im a bit over packing up and moving.
When I got home the boss called and asked if I would like to work a few days next week - as they hadn't found anyone to replace me

They have known since Aug when I first started that I would be leaving in dec. Hmm...
They bought me this today - the card is huge!

Chloe I signed your guestbook too - its such a great webpage, I love the way Alex described meeting you!

I was err.. confused at the end - I won't spoil it for anyone - I'll wait to analyse the movie with Laurette over msn!
Thanks guys for your lovely messages on the webpage! I've posted them all up:) The RSVP password is... wait for it..."RSVP". Original huh? Anyway, I've put the following line at the bottom of my invitations:
Please RSVP via our website at www.march18.yevent.com with password "RSVP"
I have the choice to have my own domain - which of the following do you think is better?
www.marcheighteen.com
www.chloeandalex.com
or should I leave it as www.march18.myevent.com?
march18.com was already taken

Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend!!!
Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
My mate and I (her man is away with mine at the moment) are going to the movies tonight, but she doesnt want to see Harry Potter without her fiance because she promised him, and I dont want to see it without finishing the book (Im oh so close though) so we are seeing something different. We are seeing Prime, Ive never heard of it, even though we are both hanging out to see HP.

Hi Girls

Congratulations on finishing work Michelle

I had one of those days at work yesterday, so couldn't pop in to Happy Dance with you, but I had a little jig for you last night

You must be so happy to be outta that place!
Laurette, love the golf clubs. Very smart!! Did you have a chance to play with them today or was it raining again?
Chloe, I love your webpage. I posted in the guestbook as well

Alex's story was so cute. Have you decided on the domain? I like chloeandalex.com I think that would be easily remembered by the guests if they didn't have their invitation with them.
We booked our cake and paid deposit. One more tick off the list! It is like
this one except ours will have red grapes, pale pink phaleonopsis orchids and a few pale pink rose buds in it. We are having cherry ripe mud, white mud and banana mud as our flavours! Yummo!! One more tick off the list
I have also started making my invitations - well actually, I did some on one night then haven't touched them since

. It took me one night to do @10 of them - and that is just the front cover. It doesn't include the actual printing on the inside or any of the inserts.

Something tells me, I better get a move on!
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.
Jo.
xx
Jo, just the sound of your cake had me drooling. It looks beautiful. Well done on crossing another thing off your list.
Well I just got home from the cinema, we saw a chick flick and of course it was a bit romantic in some places, it made me really miss N. I hope he is home tomorrow.

Elle thats great news your boy back
Um 9 days time we leave, yet I still havent got boxes. Might have to give the removalist company a call today.
Man the first night back with someone else in my bed was horrible. He hogged the bed all night and breathed really loudly. I am so tired, between him, and the cat wanting to get up early and play, the cordless phone beeping all night, and his noisy computer being left on, I didnt get much sleep.
Oh well. Im off for a facial today, I so need it my skin has gone feral with stress its broken out a bit. I have to stop by the shops and buy some shoes and a brown bikini top to wear under the brown dress I recently bought for N's March out parade on Wed. Because Ive lost weight (thru stress) my boobs have shrunken so much I need a bikini top under the dress as my strapless bra doesnt fit anymore!

Ah girls, you have all been so busy! I am feeling very very slack!
Michelle, great news that you got Neil home, that’s fantastic, although I feel for you not being able to sleep – I was the same last night. Glenn was hot, so he’s stretched out, the fan was going, so I was cold, his mobile was going flat, so it was beeping and then the damn alarm went off at 6am… it all went too quickly!
I hope that you enjoy your facial today, I wish that I was having some pampering done, but no, as per usual, I am at work.
Now, I have Tamara’s invitation pictures to post for you all to have a look at, I will get to that in a second. I am sorry, Tamara that I didn’t do it over the weekend when you emailed me, my computer was going too slow and wouldn’t let me look at the pictures. Now that I am at work I will be able to get them up for you. Will be done by lunchtime, I promise.
Chloe, I am so glad that you liked the movie! Michelle, cant wait for you to see it so that we can all have a chat about it! I went again yesterday, and I am so in love with Harry in his dress robes… made me go all gooey… is it a bad thing to have a little itty bitty crush on a teenager, 6 years my junior? I hope not.
Chloe, I also brought that song into work this morning and am inflicting it on anyone that will listen. Michelle, I will send it to you also. A song that I have discovered, and forwarded to Chloe, will do so for you too, K?
Chloe, I like the domain name with your names in it… I do. I think that your website looks great. Make sure to keep us all updated on any changes/additions that you make, OK?
Rochelle, I am glad that your niece loved her dress! That’s so good. We would love to see a picture of her in it, if you get a chance?
My mum has started on Britt’s dress, but now with harvest happening, it’s going to be February before she does any more work on it I think.
Jo, your cake sounds divine! It made me want cake just reading about it… oh, yummo. I have never really thought about the possibility of banana mud cake. I think that I am going to have to go for a trawl through the net and see what sorts of variations I can come up with on the plain old mud cake… we were planning on having white, caramel and chocolate mud for our three tiers.. I think.. although there was talk of fruit cake there for a while too, will have to see what mummy comes up with.
Kathy? What’s going on with you? Hope you are well and that you had a good weekend.
Michelle, I am going to have to revise my ribbon then I think – we were only going to have the 50cm and tie in a knot, but I think that the bow looks much better.
I got all the sticky tape and photo mounting dots and stuff yesterday to use with making the invitations, but as I haven’t printed them yet, it’s not much use to me really. As you have all already done your invites, I guess that that isn’t much useful information…
And, can someone tell me where my weekend went? It was just gone, all of a sudden, no more weekend. Not real impressed.
Glenn has also decided that he’s gone off our first dance song… which I am not real happy about. Must give him a few more options now I guess.. Grr… Men!
I didn’t ever get to have a hit with my new sticks at all over the weekend as it was too wet and then we were in Wagga, then by the time that we got home, it was coming over cloudy and stormy again, and it was about 7pm, so it was too late. Will have to settle for putting in the lounge room, and driving practice balls against the back fence, which I am sure the neighbours are appreciative of.
Oh, we are also getting Austar back on soon (Glenn had it before we moved in together) as the units we are in already have a dish on the roof… great – more TV, more live sport and more live golf. Fantastic. Something more to look forward to!

Hi,
Just thinking about Hens/Bridal showers what are all you girls doing?????
Amandas' Bridal Shower is a Tupperware luncheon.
Her Hens night is at a Cocktail Bar and im thinking of a Body Shop party I have already spoken to the ppl at Cocktail Bar and they are happy to do different cocktails and finger food.Ive just got to come up with some ideas on what to do on the night Im under strict instructions there is to be no Strippers or putting condoms on cucumbers etc so far i have come up with:
The questionare game where the guest are given a list of questions all about the bride the one with the most right gets a small prize.
But now ive drawn a blankkkkk.
Any ideas would be great.
Are any of you having Bridal/Honeymoon Registries??????
The reason i ask this is Amanda and Paddy are having a Honeymoon Registry and with her invitations she is putting in information about it
Does this sound ok
As we have already established our home we have set up a Honeymoon Registry for you to contribute to as a gift.
This is just a suggestion and dont feel obliged to contribute.
Amanda is worried that it sounds like she is expecting people to give them something.
