Well I have a pretty full on weekend first of all have to work at a 250 ppl wedding on saturday then when i get home which will be about 2am get some sleep then leave on sunday for another holiday yeah.

Going to Stradbroke Island for a few weeks then down to northern NSW for a couple of weeks and hopefully catch up with Amanda when she gets back from Kuala Lumper at the end of the month.

So if im not around for a few weeks it means i havent taken my laptop with me or i have no internet access.

Well I hung up on my mother last night when she called me I asked her if she was bringing my dress down for me to try on again, and she said no, you will be seeing in a few weeks anyway (in december, if we make it up there for Christmas) I thought she was joking and said yeah right I need it to try on another hoop and try on shoes etc. Nup she was serious. Im just pissed off, I know she paid for it, but its supposed to be MY wedding dress. I nearly said to her just keep the bloody thing and I will buy a new dress myself.

I didnt want her to take it up to Townsville in August but she insisted, and now shes not bringing it back. I feel like its HER dress (because she paid for it) and she is just lending it to me for the day. Just slightly upset.

Neil said he will call her tonight and tell her how much I am looking forward to seeing it etc but who knows. Im trying not to get too mad because I know she bought it for me (I didnt expect her to, she offered) but now she is keeping it from me?!

Am I over reacting?

I just got this email from my sister (who is my main BM)

"Heloo, its your dress, and you are not a 2 year old. ill talk to her tomorrow aswell. Julianne said she has been really wierd lately, like acting funny like granny almost. im starting to worry about her hey! she will bring the dress down and of course you want to see it again, who wouldnt. dont worry about it ill chat with her tomorrow."

Its good to see another mothers perspective. Im just a little disapointed as I have been looking forward to seeing the dress.

I have just emailed my other sister to find out whats going on with mum I think maybe it might just be a tough time of year for her. Its the 3rd anniversary of dads death next Saturday and I dont think she is coping too well. She will be here on the 15th Oct to keep busy with me and the wedding plans.

Sorry that I have been a bit absent lately... bit happening and none of it wedding related.

I still havent heard back about the job that I went all the way to Wollongong for in September - it was a full month ago.

Have you ever had one of those periods where you just feel so down in the dumps and nothing looks good? I am having one of them at the moment. On the upside, you may have seen my post in House and Garden about our new flat - if you havent, go and have a look. It's very nice.

I hope that I will be able to get excited about it over the weekend when we start moving stuff in, but who knows.

I have another job prospect maybe on the horizon, but it's too far away fpr my liking. I would feel really bad leaving this employer just before harvest, but I need to start looking out for #1 for once in my life maybe.

I still havent heard back about my flowers, I might actually ring the florist and see whst is going on. I am a bit pissed off about that.

Michelle, I totally understand what you mean about being upset about your dress! I would be shattered. I do understand what Kathy means about the chance of it getting wrecked or lost or something, but it's YOUR WEDDING DRESS and you need to get shoes and a hoop - I imagine that it would be easier to do this in Melbourne than it would be in far NQ.

Stick to your guns honey and she'll bring it down. I am sure that your mum will come good - a trip to Melbourne to spend some time with you might be just what she needs, OK? Chin up sweet.

Just a quick hello, things are going really well down here. Yes, it has been pretty cold but given how warm it was back in brissie before we left, we're actually both really appreciating the cool weather.

Looks like a few of you have gotten pretty busy with your organisation.

Michelle, really annoying situation about your mum, usually they mean well, i know mine has been driving me a little crazy with some things, but i guess mums will be mums, and you can't change that!!

Jo, my cake quote is $330, including free delivery to my reception and a free cake knife which i thought was pretty nifty! Our cake only has two tiers and it'll be a 90 serve chocolate mud cake with nothing overly complicated (a few sugar mould sea shells and star fish etc.) and we're not keeping the top tier. So you might be wanting something a bit more complex than that and that is why it's double the price, i guess it's hard to compare really.

My flower quote is $450. I'm getting my flowers from the ever popular 'Sue the flower lady' who is doing a lot of girls flowers on this forum. I'm getting my boquet, by two BM's boquets, 9 buttonholes, 5 corsages, 5 scatter flowers for near the cake and 10 hair pins! The two flowers that i'm using throughout are Orchids and Frangipanis.

Deposits have been made for all of the guys suits except for the father of the groom and the page boy. The suit hire is $175 a person which is a little much i thought, but they're REALLY nice suits!!

Tomorrow i'm meeting with the celebrant which should be interesting, and my H2B goes back home without me on Wednesday. A whole week without my H2B!!!! I don't know how i'll cope!!!

Anyway, this was supposed to be short and now it's long, so i'll go now. I will hopefully touch base again in a few days time.

Laurette, I know what you mean about the 'dumps'. I think we all go through these periods from time to time. As Michelle said, feel free to vent. I can't believe you still haven't heard about that Wollongong job. You'd think they'd call you and let you know one way or the other. Have you called them at all?

What is it with suppliers? How hard is it to phone back when they say they will. I'd phone the florist Laurette and let her know you're not impressed. You want to be able to trust who you book for your day.

Beck, your cake sounds great. Our will be 3 tier to feed @150, with sugar flowers trailing down the side. We went to another cake place on Saturday and they where even more expensive. For one of the cakes they quote $1100 plus delivery plus GST Suddenly the first place isn't sounding too bad after all

Welcome back Tamara. Sounds like you're pretty organised. If you check 1 or 2 pages back, I think the girls put down when they are sending their invites out. My date is 25th and I'm probably sending out mid-late January, so your timeline sounds about right to me.

Tamara, I am 11 March also... and also in the Riverina. Weird hey. I have PM'd you. I am in Temora.

I didnt get a chance to organise the florist today - which was a pain. I went and paid the $$ to get us finished for our old lease, and then also paid the rent in advance, bond, and leasing fee for the new place... I shelled out nearly $3K and I am feeling very poor. Although I did pay out my Coles Myer Card with that also, so it's being cut up tonight, which is an achievement!

Thanks for your well wishes girls. I was doing really well, until we had a big fight on Saturday night and I was really upset - i dont even know why - and without even realising it I had turned into this jealous, hysterical girlfirend and I thought that Glenn was going to leave me - that's how bad it was.

But, now I know that it's OK and he's not going to leave me, I would have to do a lot worse than that, and things are OK now. Sigh.

Still down in the dumps a bit, but I will feel better once we start bringing some organisation back into our lives again, once the move is over in the next two weeks.

Next Monday I am also going on the CSIRO diet, Glenn too. We are going to follow the meal plans for the twelve weeks and then re-evaluate. That's how long I have got Glenn to try it for, and he'll then see if he wants to stay on it. Although he works in a supermarket, so if he wanted to cheat, it would be really easy for him. And he refuses to give up his beer, so that kinda defeats the purpose of it, but I am going to do it religiously.

Will let you know how it pans out!

Yes, five months today and I am no more organised than what I was at 12 months.

I am so not organised either Laurette, I said to neil last night Im a bit down because I have lost motivation and coudlnt be bothered planning anything else.

Mum is coming on saturday - along with my dress, Im looking forward to seeing it/trying it on to spark a bit of motivation somewhere in me.

I have to leave for work in 1/2 hour I hate this job so much, but they have just hired a new girl so hopefully she will be trained up in time to do 3 shifts for me next week so that I can spend the whole week with mum while she is down.

Im also a bit down because Sat 15th is the anniverary of dads death and its just getting to me that he wont be at the wedding or see anything exciting in my life for that matter.

Oh I am also down because we dont know where we are moving. We move in 8 weeks and we dont know - either sydney or darwin. Im hoping for sydney now but Im not getting my hopes up as I knwo the army likes to stuff us around. hopefully we find out soon so that i can start mentally preparing for it, and start looking for houses in syd/darwin.

I cant believe that they still havent given you a definite answer, Michelle. It's not good enough.

I am sorry that your not 100% - maybe we can be miserable together.

I'm having a bit of a down time too One of my friends at work has done some stupid things (at work) and got herself and a few of her friends (including me) in trouble. It's a long, complicated story but there is a possibility that myself and a couple of other people may lose our jobs. Very bad timing and I'm feeling a bit sick with worry at the moment. I should find out what is going on by end of the week, hopefully!

I have a department meeting this morning, just the thing to brighten me up... not.

I am ssssooo lucky!!

I just booked the last limmo from the company i wanted!!!!

I had no idea that they would have booked up so quickly!!! Apparently they're mostly booked up through to April!!!

I was going to leave it until next week sometime, boy am i glad that ended up with a spare 10 minutes when i didn't think i would!!!!

I really scraped that one in by the skin of my ass! Please girls, tell me you've all booked your Limmos, if you haven't i want you all to get on the phone right now!!!

I'm getting a silver 10 seater, i only needed an 8 seater but it was their last one left so i nabbed it, so all 6 of us are going to have tonnes of room!!

It's a little expensive, $550 for 3 hrs and $50 per half hour there after, but it includes ribbon, a red carpet and champagne!! LOL, i'll turn up to my own wedding half sloshed!!

Hopefully chucking down a deposit for the cake today, need to buy an underskirt as well, hopefully i can find one without hoops!! I HATE HOOPS!!!!!!!!!!

I'm picking up my wedding dress tomorrow morning, it had to go to the dressmaker to be shortened. I hate having short legs!! Ah well, she only had to take it up about 2 inches and there was actually a mark on the dress just shy of 2 inches from the bottom, so the mark will be hidden (don't know how the mark got there gggrrrr)

One of my bridesmaid dresses needs to be dry cleaned, somehow it got a mark on it. I'm not very happy, i bugged mum for TWO MONTHS to get dress protector bags for them and even then i turned around and went and bought them myself, and now, when i was carefully checking them, one has a mark on it!!!!!! NOT HAPPY JAN!!!!!!!!

One quick question before i end this very long post (sorry!!) Does anyone know if you can get a wedding dress partially dry cleaned?? My wedding dress is just a little dirty just around the top of it. Basically, i think i've tried it on so many times my natual body oils have made the dress just a little bit dirty, but i don't want to have to pay to get the whole thing dry cleaned. I've nenver dry cleaned anything so i don't know.

They've got a pretty good range. They have a pretty goof range.

I didn't end up buying mine today, they didn't have my size in stock, but they said they'd have it by monday, so at least i'll get it before i go home.

Going shopping with mum for an outfit for her tomorrow.

The weather is beautiful here today. Glad i'm not back home, my H2B flew back home last night and he said it's horrible and humid there at the moment.

Can't wait 'til saturday!! My hair and make up trial!!!!

Hey, Michelle, I got my unerskirt from ebay - it's gorgeous. I will find you the name of the seller if you would like.

It's silky material with three hoops and then two layers of tulle over the top of that. All the hoops are adjustable and removable, so it can be any size that you want.

Hey Beck. Hope that you had fun with your mum looking for an outfit! I had great fun with my mum, although she bought the first outfit that she tried on! So the shopping trip wasnt real long!

Thought I would pop back in and see all of my gorgeous wedding twinnies!! Ive missed you all like crazy... As you would be aware, you wouldn’t have seen me around for a few weeks... Had life dramas, as you do…...

Well I’ve had quiet a bit of a read of what all of you have been up to, and it looks as though everyone’s cruising along nicely which is great to hear!! Im very happy for all of you!!

Well, Paul & I are still going along nicely.. We’re heading up to Palm Cove on the 28th of October till the 30th to suss things out, so to speak... Well, considering we’ve never even been up there and seen the chapel etc, hehe, I think it would be a wise move… Just with everything that’s gone on, the fire, Paul being in hospital, Paul & I having our problems, then what’s happened recently, you kinda find it hard to find time to do things...

But we are finally going up there, and im looking really forward to it!!! Paul doesn’t actually know, I thought I would leave it as a surprise for him..  So yeah, im looking very forward to seeing the chapel, and finally meeting with everyone that ive been talking for months on the phone to, and never had the chance to meet.. We haven’t even met our celebrant yet! How scary is that!! hehe.. no, we’re sure she is fine, we’ve spoken with her soooo many times on the phone… 

Anyways, enough of my rattling on.. Tell me more about you ladies! Fill me in on all my wedding twinnies planning hourneys over the last few months!!!!

I am pleased to report that this morning I woke up to a nice present, Neil had bought me a bracelet He is like a fine wine, gets better with age

Well mum is here, with my dress its still in the box I wont try it on until sometime when Neil isnt around. We also brought our wedding bands home - it makes it feel a bit more real and sparks a little motivation in me. Mum and I went around a shopping centre and I tried on BM dress styles ( as my bm's live in north qld ) and we looked for bride shoes. Its good to have someone to help out with my wedding, even if its only for a week.

I just wish we were moving back to Townsville so it would make planning this thing a million times easier.

Laurette and Michelle, that for your thoughts and support. I've had a really tough week and unfortunately we've now been told it's going to take 2-3 more weeks before we know what will happen. So stressful! Laurette, it's not email - although to be honest, I wish it was. Unfortunately, this is a lot more serious. Anyway, I just have to try keep my mind off it as much as possible for the time being.

Laurette, can you give my the ebay sellers details of where you got your underskirt? My friend has offered for me to borrow hers, but if it is too big, which I think may be the case, I will need to buy one.

Michelle, glad you are having fun with your Mum being there. Bet you can't wait to get that dress on How gorgeous of Neil to buy you a bracelet. What a sweetie.

Beck, glad you loved your hair/make-up trial. Can't wait to see the pic's I've had my make-up trial. I haven't technically had a hair trial yet, but she did my hair when I was BM for my best friends wedding in July this year, so I have seen her work and booked her in. I'll probably have my trial with her early next year.

Today Jase & I were in the "classroom" for our dive certificate. Today was all theory and a final exam (I passed ). Tomorrow we are in pool with all the equipment learning all the practical stuff!

wow i have had a busy day.

Invites and ordered and paid for.
I bought a hairpiece to go in front of the veil today also - its beautiful.
I bought BM and flowergirl material too.
I bought mirror tiles from ikea and 82 pink tea light candles I just have to work out some sort of arrangement for centrepieces. The mirror tiles are freakin heavy we had to lugg them around town in a backpack, i think they weigh 20kg
