Laurette
Someone shoot me now... I need to get this year over and done with. 2006 is going to be so much better.....
---
Hey Laurette if we shoot you then you wont be here to experience 2006.

Hope your ok unsure.gif *hugs* Hope your visitor has gone home mad.gif

PS just for the record I hope this year goes quck as well cant wait to quit this stupid bloody unorganised understaffed stupid job.
Laurette
Work is the main problem - I have just about had a GUTFUL.

Yes, Michelle, thank christ they went home before I got there for lunch - they were still home when Glenn went to work at midday.... I think that if I had to deal with it again then I would have cried or had a nervous breakdown or something.
---
I have had a gutful of work too, I got called in this morning to relieve someone - so Im working 8am - 7:30pm Oh and I dont get any lunch break either. Thats nearly 12 hours straight...
To top it off I got a ticket from a copper this am, my first ever ticket. For driving in the transit lane. I didnt know it was illegal! Oh well not to worry.

Hopefully this day improves for me

Hope everyone else is ok smile.gif
beckabunny
hi all,

i've finished my invites!!!!!

Finally!!

I glued together and finished the very last one last night!!

Now they are all ready to be sent. I still have a few addresses to track down which is fine, i'm not posting them until the last week of November, but my goal was to finish them by this weekend and i did it!!

Sorry, i am just happy that i've got yet another thing out of the way with lots of time still to go.

One week today i fly to Melbourne!

Watch out Melbourne bridezilla is on her way! LOL, no i could never be like that, or at least i'd like to think so.........

Beck
---
Hey Beck thats great to hear! Wanna help me do mine when you come to Melb hehe. I havent even started. Or bought the materials. Very slack I am. cool.gif
Saffire
Hi Marchies!

Michelle - OMG, Darwin? Oh nooo! At least you won't be in the Melbourne cold anymore. Sorry to hear about your ticket this morning...

Laurette when you've finished with that gun can you pass it over to me? Work has gone from bad to worse. I think I have to change territories which will mean farther away from home to get onto territory and starting from scratch all over again. Feel like quitting.

Congrats Beck on the finished invites!

I don't have a dress yet - I don't have material for a dress yet. So feeling really disorganised. I booked hair and make up today as I will be flying to Brisbane in November so I can do the trial. I hope it all works out because the place I have booked requires a deposit to secure the booking (which has to be done before the trial) because they are so popular. They're not cheap either. No sirreee!

Hope everyone's well smile.gif

Hi girls,

Congreatulations on finishing your invites Beck.

Another tick off the list.

Kathyxxx

Hi girlies. Well Neils boss told him that we have like no chance of going to Townsville. Apparently for the job he is training for now, there are 50 guys in townsville and only 30 spots so they are already over resourced. Some a-hole in Canberra said that the fact that we have to sell our land up there, have a wedding there in March and the fact that I need my support base in Townsille is not a good enough reason for them to consider him going to T'ville.

Oh well, Im slowly getting used to the idea, Neil has promised me a puppy so I guess thats the one good thing if we go to Darwin...

Laurette
Oh, Michelle - not good enough! I really feel for you - I cant imagine how hard it it must be. We're always here for you though - and should I ever pass through the NT I promise that I will come and spend some time with you.

Congrats on the finished invites Beck.

I will post my wedding update soon.
beckabunny
what a$$holes!!!

how can they say that's not a good enough reason???

What on earth do they consider to be a good enough reason??

Maybe you have to have your amputated left leg in townsville and you need to be there with it......lol

sorry, not helpful i know.

you must be pretty damned pissed off right now.

*hugs*

Beck
---
I am more upset now than angry. I knew what I was getting myself in with them I started dating him blink.gif but its not very nice to be basicly promised a place and get your hopes up and then go somewhere else. Im sure it will be great in Darwin *forces a smile* laugh.gif
Laurette
You never know - you might LOVE it mate. You might learn to love it. I was the same when my stepdad decided to buy a farm and move us from Wollongong. I threatened to divorce my parents over it - really - but now, it's the best thing that has ever happened to me.

I am sure that things will start to look up sweet

I put in my request for a quote to two florists today...

3 x Bridesmaid bouquets – 20 or 30 red roses (please quote for both) w/camellia leaves and white organza ribbon

1 x groom buttonhole – white rose w/ camellia leaf

3 x groomsmen buttonholes – red roses w/ camellia leaves

2 x grandmother corsages (rose or orchid???)

1 x grandfather button hole (matching the grandmother corsage)

3 x father buttonholes (unsure what sort of flowers)

2 x mother’s corsages (orchids?)

1 x flower girl bouquet – white roses w/ camellia leaves and white organza ribbon

1 x page boy buttonhole – white rose w/camellia leaf

Plus cut white roses for centerpieces – 15 tables.

Now, just waiting to hear back about the damage.
---
wow so many roses, its going to look just beautiful smile.gif

Hey Beck where about are you getting married in Melb? and reception venue?
beckabunny
I'm getting married in mt. eliza.

The venue and reception are at the one place, Norwood house, www.norwoodhouse.com.au

it's a really cute place, we're getting married under the gazeebo wub.gif

Having a three course meal and we get the entire place to ourselves for the whole day, so i don't have to be out by a certain time coz of another wedding.

They also include 5 1/2 hrs of beer, wine, and soft drinks in their per head price.

Pretty impressive i thought. It's going to cost $109 a head for 83 people, including the $3.50pp charge for chair covers with co-ordinating ribbons and the $2.50pp ceremony cost.

Beck
---
I just checked out the website Beck - gotta say wow. It looks so nice there. Sounds like a good deal you got too. Sometimes I wish we were doing the whole formal reception thing it just looks so nice in the pics. I see the address its on the Nepean highway, I have no idea where Mt Eliza is but I know we go on the Nepean highway to get to Neils mums house in Brighton but Im sure its a big road and its a long way away, everything in this city is

Oh the gazebo is gorgeous too. Your going to have some great pics on the day
beckabunny
Mt Eliza is approx. 20 mins drive south of Frankston, if you know where that is.

Down towards Mornington.

Yeh, photos of us under the gazeebo are going to look really romantic.

We're also hoping to bugger off to the nearest beach and get photos there, i haven't figured out if the nearest beach is too far away yet, but mt. eiza is on the mornington peninsula, so there should be one fairly close.

Beck
Dancing Girl
Hi Girls,

Can I just add in the "i've had a gutful of work" line too? I haven't been able to log in all week because of bl00dy work! mad.gif

Anyway, the week is at an end and I can finally log in and catch up with everyone!! biggrin.gif

Congratulations on finishing your invites Beck. That a huge tick off your list. biggrin.gif

I bought all my papers etc over a month ago and haven't had a chance to even start them!

Laurette, good luck with florist quote. Hope it comes in at a good price for you. I love your wedding song btw. I only just had a chance to listen to it tonight. It's really beautiful.

I'm off to check out cakes and suits tomorrow. Can't wait. biggrin.gif

Have a great weekend girls.

Jo.
beckabunny
i'll be getting a quote for my flowers next week,

i'm having

1 x bridal boquet 50% purple 50% white frangipani

2 x bridesmaid boquets 50% purple frangipani 50% lilac orchids

1 x purple frangipani for flower girl hair

1 x groom buttonhole (probably orchid)

2 x gromsmen buttonhole (probably orchid)

2 x father buttonhole (probably orchid)

3 x grandfather buttonhole (probably orchid)

5 x corsages (2 x mother 3 x grandmother) - (probably purple frangipani)

although i do know it's going to be under $500, which is a great price i reckon.

How do you know exactly how many of each type of flower?

Laurette, how did you know you would need 60 roses for your boquet?

I've described to my florist the rough shape and size of the boquet i want, but i have no idea exactly how many frangipanis it's actually going to take.

Beck

Laurette
Beck, your flowers sound great.

I just guestimated how many I would need, as I want a very large bouquet. I was speaking to my florist yesterday, and she says that she doesnt think that I will need that many - maybe a max of 40 as they are large roses.

I might push for 50 though I think.
Saffire
I have designed the Save the Dates!!!

i'm about to do my first print test run of my place cards. I hope they'll turn out ok.

Unfortunately, i can't post any pictures of them, coz our digital camera is being repaired right now.

If i figure out another way to show you guys how they turned out, i will definately do it.

Helpful hit for anyone here who is planning on making their own place cards like i am, there is some fantasic paper available from Off!cew0rks, it's actually Off!cew0rks brand paper, in the same section as all the photo printing paper, and it's called "Inkjet Business Cards" they come in A4 sheets, but they are perferated into business card shapes, comes in a pack of 400 cards and since your standard place card is like two business cards, you just leave the perferation in tact, fold it along the perferation, and whammo!!

Perfectly sized easy place name cards!!!!! (in theory)

(i forgot to mention the pack of 400 cards only cost about $13, this would make 200 place cards)

So here goes nothing girls!!!

Beck
ProudMumJo
hi fellow marcharians

i was amazed at how many ppl are not enjoying work me too! i was so fed up i took two weeks off unfortunately i go back Tuesday sad.gif .
Good new is though i have booked all the major stuff YAY church, reception, flowers, cars, cake, photographer, ordered dresses, suits are still being decided, received my butterfly disp cameras friday they looked awesome. I have done a sample of my invite, placecard, rsvp, bonbon tag and i was happy with them so thats my next step ordering invite stuff. My FFIL is making us a signature frame its good to have someone so crafty and FMIL is such a whiz on the computer shes helping with the OOS books. I am so excited girls my butterfly wedding is slowly falling into place.

Need some advice though i wanted to do something other than having dry ice for our bridal dance, has anyone been to a wedding where they had a bubble machine or something else.

Thanks guys
JO
beckabunny
A bubble machine sounds really cute, but it could also be disasterous.

With enough bubbles popping on the floor, people may tend to slip.

hhhhhmmmm

Beck
---
I agree the bubble machine would look great but may get a bit slippery. The smoke machine smells and it gets hard to see. I looked into having a low lying cloud machine at our wedding as the smoke hangs low to the ground like a cloud and looks a bit better than the smoke machine. But we changed our plans and are now having an outdoor reception so we arent having anything!
Bubbles

Cloud machine

ProudMumJo
thanks ellerson that cloud 9 thing sounds good also, need to find someone in melb though
Laurette
Wow, Kathy - that's a HUGE amount of roses for the bouquets - no offense, but are you sure that's right? 60 roses will work out about as wide as me (andI'm a BIG girl) - and so so heavy - I cant even imagine adding another 20 to that! The price sounds really good for that number too.

Either way, they sound beautiful!

Hi girls,

Laurette,

I know what you mean about the amount of roses and i thought the same thing about it being so big and heavy but the woman at the florist said the roses will be in different sizes from buds to open flowers she is going to do a model of one for Amanda so she can see what it looks like and decide on if it will be OTT or not.

The length is 56cm so it is going to be fairly big (glad i dont have to carry it)

Check this out for an entrance decoration (my size champagne bottle hic! laugh.gif )
---
Wow Kathy thats certainly different. I love the champagne bottle hehe.

I just went for my first pre wedding facial. Ah it was so nice just lying there being pampered. She even massaged my shoulders arms and hands too. She said I have pretty bad skin dry.gif I already knew that but she said she can fix me up by the wedding. Im booked in again in 2 weeks for some other type of facial, for the amount of money I spent today and will spend in 2 weeks time my skin had better be glowing by the wedding! Hope Neil doesnt check the bank balance blink.gif
ebbi
HI ladies how are we all,
Oh my is evryone just having crappy working weeks at the mo, i know what you all mean.
I work in an all girl environment and it sucks!!

We did a mock up of our wedding invites yesterday - i will post a pic - and we are very happy with them, have decided to print and arrange them all ourselves.
I also ordered our candles for the ceremony and they are so nice i will post a pic when they arrive.
Has everyone ordered their cakes yet?
Our baker told us we didnt need to order till like a month before but i want to do it now!!!

Hope all is well,
Ebony
Shazz 4/3
Ebony - I have ordered my cake. We only have a small number of good quality shops in Canberra though and when I contacted the one I wanted to use she suggested I book in straight away as they only had a few more slots for March.

Question for you all.....
When are you sending your invitations and how long before the wedding is your RSVP? I was thinking of sending my invites in December (before the 15th) and having an RSVP date of the 1st of Feb for a 4 March Wedding day. What do you all think?

How are everyone elses plans going?

user posted image
---
I think we will be sending out invites as soon as we make them, probably november as we are being hassled by MIL every phone call to get them out. RSVP will probably be early-mid Feb as we have to confirm numbers by the start of March.

Kathy W
Hi girls,

Eb,

Amandas cake is already ordered and because she changed her mind and is now having 3 tier fruit cake the lady is going to start making it in november she then soaks it in brandy for 3 months then she will do the icing about a week out from wedding.

Shaz,

That is a good time span for your invites gives everyone plenty of notice and also time to get over xmas I think Amanda has the same dates for invites as Michelle.

kathyxxx
beckabunny
shaz,

I'm sending my invites in the last week of november, 28th i think it is, and i've made the rsvp 27th of janurary for a march 11th wedding.

Our venue requires a minimum of 2 weeks notice prior to the wedding of definate numbers and i want to allow time for stragglers.

Hope this helps you decide. Also, it's a nice easy date for us to remember as 27th janurary will be our 3 yr anniversary!!

Ebony,

i haven't ordered my cake yet, but it will be ordered by the 19th of this month.

Beck
Laurette
CHLOE!!!!! I just read in another thread about the way that your H2B proposed! Could you please share the details with us? Sounds very 'Sweet Home Alabama' to me!

Thanks sweet!

Laurette
ebbi
Im not quite sure what to do with invites either!?!?
What do you reckon for a march 25th wedding?

I ordered address lables for the back of the envelopes yesterday and begun typing up our oos booklets, cause i just couldnt wait!
beckabunny
hi girls!

My place cards worked!!

They are so beautiful and look professional. I'm going to get all my plac cards done for under $20, which is pretty decent i reckon!

Have a look at the photos!!

Beck, they look fantastic!
Kathy W
Hi girls,

Beck,

The place cards look great.Did you do them or did you get them done by someone?

Laurette,

You were right about the flowers I had a look at the model she was doing and it was way over the top I think the roses will be cut down to about ten or twenty.

kathyxxx
beckabunny
i did them myself.

i bought special paper that is finely perferated from Off!cew0rks and just printed them out on my printer at home.

I also bought a bottle of purple glitter glue from R!ot Art and Cr@ft to colour in the butterflies with and make them sparkle.

If you want further details on the brands i used, just PM me.

Beck

Dancing Girl
Hi Girls,

Haven't had a chance to log on for nearly a week sad.gif At least there was lots to read up on. It sounds like everyone has been really busy. biggrin.gif

Chloe, I love your Save the Date cards. They look great. And do tell about your proposal. In fact, I don't think I know about any of you girls' proposals!

Kathy, Amanda's flower quote sounds really good. I'm having a tear-drop kind of shape as well. Are you going to go with this florist?

Beck, your placecards look gorgeous. Smart little cookie! And a great cost as well. biggrin.gif Hope you have a fabulous 2 weeks. biggrin.gif

Ebony, look forward to seeing the pic's of your wedding invites. I finally started to print mine on Monday (well, the front of them anyway wink.gif It's a start I guess!)

We went and saw a cake person on Saturday. Her work was fantastic and the cakes tasted really yummy. There was two cakes that we came up with that we like. One was $900 ( ohmy.gif ) and the other $600 (sounds good compared to $900 laugh.gif ) Of course, I prefer the expensive one! We are seeing another place this Saturday and then probably one other.

Good on you for having a facial Michelle. I am starting mine next week and then one every month leading up to the wedding. biggrin.gif

Take care girls, speak to you soon!

Jo.

HI girls, you all sound so much more organised than me. I think even since we found out we are going to Darwin (or Syd now...) I lost motivation.

Im at work and dr running late and pts giving me evil looks ph34r.gif

Kathy W
Hi girls,
