Kathy she looks gorgeous. Congratulations Amanda biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

And I love the shoes. They are very similar to ones I have my eye on.

One more BIG tick off the list!

I don't get my dress until November-ish and I'm starting to get really impatient. I want it now!!!! wink.gif

Feeling very stressed at the moment. I have a yucky cold, it's the end of financial year (very stressful at work), I've been running around flat out trying to help my girlfriend organise her wedding, she has unthinkingly taken some of my idea's for my wedding so am feeling a bit bummed about that, and my boy isn't here to give me a hug and make it all better!!! sad.gif

I think I need to go home soon and cuddle my bird!

ebbi
our plans are coming along greatly
we paid the reception deposit on the weekend which was great to get out of te way!
we have picked up our rings, i have my dress and bms dresses, 1st night accom booked, bonbon in hte process, blah blah.......
so many little things.
we just have to organise our 1st meeting with the celebrant which i think is usually done around the 6 month mark i remember her saying.
im already at the point where i feel like im forgetting somthing - imagine how bad its going to be closer to the date!!!!

how is everyone else finding the process?
Kathy W
Hi Girls,

Jo,

The shoes were a big bargain $100 from My3rs.

Really loving those melbourne winter sales!!!!!!

Kathyxx
---
Hey Jo any news on when Jase is home? Hopefully not much longer! How are the plans going for your best friend - I hope she doesnt steal all of your ideas!

Kathy, I love the shoes that Amanda has chosen then look very elegant. I doubt I will be able to wear nice shoes like that, I woudlnt be able to walk very well in the sand with them on!!

Ebony you sound very organised. Wanna come here and help me plan my wedding? tongue.gif

I think once I get my dress it will get the ball rolling, once I know how formal it is, I can then chose BM dresses, colour scheme (will probably be pink still) pick the boys suits.

I cant remember if I reported on how my quotes from the jeweller went, lets just say it will be out of budget to get what I want. He told me that I would have to get a ring made to fit niceley next to the E ring. But I went into another jewellers and picked one straight out, and it fitted perfectly, looked very sparkly, for 1/2 the price he quoted...

I had another job interview today..for weekend work only blink.gif and not every weekend either, once a month or something like that.. Hmm I think I will keep on looking..
ebbi
Just though i would tell you all i brought bubbles for the end of the ceremony very cheap too - sooo exciting I LOVE bubbles!!!!
marble
hi,

mine is on 18th March 2006.

do i have any twins out there!! biggrin.gif

Kathy W
Hi Marble,

Welcome to the march thread you are not alone there are heaps of 18th march brides here my daughter included.

So how are your plans going?

Kathyxxx
Dancing Girl
Hi Girls,

Michelle - very exciting about the ring you found. Have you/are you going to buy it or look around a bit more. Good luck with the job interview you went for. I know occasional weekend work isn't what you are looking for, but I guess it's something. You could always take it until you find something more regular.

Ebony - well done on your bubbles. I love bubbles too and am also going to buy some for after the ceremony. do you mind me asking how much you paid for them?

Welcome to March twinnies Marble. Hope you're plans are going well.

Does anyone know where Laurette has gone?? I haven't seen her in here for ages! Laurette, where are you???

Jase is STILL away!! I'm very over it now mad.gif When I spoke to him on the weekend he said it looks like he may be there until Thursday! He is very over his hotel room! He is a groomsman for his stepbrothers weekend this Saturday, so at least I know he HAS to be home for that! Hopefully he won't have to go back afterwards.

My friends wedding is now 2 weeks away! I'm just amazed at how quickly it has all happened. I have organised her Hen's night for this Friday night, so am looking forward to that. As I mentioned in my previous post, I was feeling a bit bummed because she has copied some of my idea's (not deliberately, she just doesn't "think" sometimes). To give you an idea, these are the things effected - hijacked my make-up trial (it somehow turned into a "her" meeting and she has booked her), colour scheme & invitations, engagement cake, honeymoon (that really pi$$ed me), guys clothing (her H2B is now wearing tails after she had been with us 2 months ago when Jase was trying on what he is wearing - the exact same tails!!) and a few other little things. At one stage she even tried on and nearly bought a blush pink wedding dress with similiarities to mine!! Luckily she ended up buying something completely different - and not blush pink! I was starting to get a bit upset, but I think I'm over it now. At the end of the day, I'm walking down the aisle to marry my boy and all the little details will probably just wash over my head anyway. No point stressing or getting upset about it!

Hope all you girls are going well!!

Jo.

---
Hi Marble, Im getting married 18th March as well. Hope you are more organised than me!! Id love to hear your plans.

Jo, not long now til you see Jase. It makes it worse when you dont have a return date for him, but at least you knwo he will be home by the end of the week.

Ebony your bubbles sound very pretty! yay for being cheap!

How have you been feeling Kathy? hope your still doing ok.

cheers,
Michelle
Kathy W
Hi Girls,

Jo,

One good thing that could come out of your friend using some of your wedding ideas you will get to see if they work or not.

If they work go for it.

Michelle,

Im feeling great and have had no after affects from my chest spaz attack.

kathyxxx

ps:Amanda has just landed in New Zealand something to do with work.

We have decided to now have flowers (we wernt going to much to the terror of my nan)

We are having silk flowers so the price probley wont help but...

myself and bm are having wrist corsages and h2b and gm are having buttonholes and the parents and gparents are having corsages and buttonholes.

Just got a quote from sue the flower lady and very good price under $200 for the lot!!

I went and tried on a few wedding dresses today. It was totally unplanned, my sister in law took me shopping and suggested a quick stop by a bridal store. I wish it had of been planned, as I was wearing my daggiest underwear ph34r.gif It was a washng day so I had unmatched and crappy underwear on lol

anyway I tried on 4 dresses, liked 3 of them and said the "L" word about the 4th one. Im going to take mum back when she gets here its exactly what I imagined, it looked great on me, great price.

Ive learnt that white doesnt look good on me, makes me look too washes out, will probably go a champagne colour?

Oops, Sunday 19th I mean tongue.gif

I live in Sydney (I grew up in Brisbane, and my H2B Adam grew up in Bowral) and have done so for the past 5 years.

As for the plans, all we have done is book the reception venue- D0ck$ide at Darling Harbour.

My MOH comes back from Scotland in a week or so, which is when we will go into planning overdrive!!

Im just sitting here patiently waiting for my ticker to change to 8 MONTHS!! Yes thats how bored I am lol

Where is Laurette these days?? Hope all is well.

Ebony $200 for your flowers sounds great. Im glad Sues prices are reasonable, I would pay anything up to $500, but anything cheaper is a bargain.

I only want 1 boquet for me, 2 for BM's and 3 button holes, some for my hair etc

If the parents, grandparents want one, they can raid a frangipani tree and stick a real one on laugh.gif
Kathy W
Hi Girls,

Im hoping Amanda's Flower budget will be around the $400 mark. She wants real flowers and we only have to pay for :

Brides

4 Bridesmaids

Flowergirl

8 Buttonholes

2 MOB & MOG flowers

Centerpieces for reception come in package deal.

Hi twinnies,

I haven't been on much in last week or so. Flat out with friends wedding, H2B's stepbrother got married last weekend, busy work, hen's night (for my friend)....phew!!! Busy, busy, busy. My head is spinning!!

Firstly, my friends Hen's night! I organised it a chinese entertainment restaurant in the city which specialises in hen's nights, birthdays, party type celebrations etc. After dinner, they do karoake, limbo, dances (nutbush, bus stop etc). It was great fun and everyone really enjoyed themselves. They even had a "surprise guest" for all the lady guests of honour which was a Manpower stripper. It was hilarious and completely unexpected. The restaurant apparently organises it when they have hen's parties in. I also made my friend a pink veil (it was a pretty in pink party as that is her fave colour) and bought little pink halo's for all us girls. Overall, great night and lots of fun.

Next, was H2B's stepbrothers wedding. H2B was a groomsman and looked very handsome - can't wait to see him in his own wedding suit!! biggrin.gif The poor groom (stepbrother) came down with Chicken Pox a week before the wedding. Can you believe the absolute rotten bad luck of that! By the day of the wedding, he wasn't contagious, but was a bit tired and VERY spotty!!! They put make up all over him, but there's not much you can do with that many aggravated spots! Thank goodness for digital photography and airbrushing! The wedding was lovely and he organised a suprise firework display for his bride.

So, this week is my friends wedding. I'm off to the mountains on Friday arvo and up at 6am for hair and make-up on the saturday (11am wedding!!) ohmy.gif Can I just tell you how very bad I am in the mornings!! I can't stand any morning, let alone an early one! She is all organised and it should be a lovely wedding.

Jase finally came home last Friday afternoon from Perth. I came home from work a little early before I had to run off to the Hen's party and he ran off to do his groomsman duties, so sunday was our first proper time together. It's so good to have him back. Missed him lots !

Hope all you girls are going well. Welcome to March twinnies Invisigirl23. Congrats on your engagement and make sure you come in lots and let us know your plans. Reception at D0cks!de sounds lovely. I'm a Sydney girl too!

Michelle, how exciting to finally try on some dresses. I bet now that you've had a taste, you can't wait for your Mum to come visit so you can go out again!!

Kathy, my flower budget is a little naughty. Jase & I love flowers, so this was one area we agreed we would be happy to spend a little more on. I have booked my florist and her quote is @$800-900. This will be for a cascading bouquet for me lots of phale orchids (which will probably have to be air-brushed by my flower lady to get the right shade!), and some roses, bouquets for the 3 girls plus my junior BM, corsages for mothers and grandmothers and designer buttonholes for the 3 groomsmen, junior gm as well as fathers and grandfathers. This doesn't include any ceremony or reception flowers (which are part of our package), so it is quite exe but this woman has amazing style and unfortunately I love the expensive, hard to get, flowers!!! Oh well, I keep saying, I'm only going to do this once! wink.gif

I got a message for Laurette. She says to say hello to everyone. She has been really busy at work and also had some issues come up with no internet usage, so won't be logging on at work. She's trying to organise a new job and will come on and say hello soon!

wow, sorry this was soooo long!! lots to catch up on!

Jo.
---
Wow sounds like you have been flat out Jo!! Im very glad that Jase is finally home.

I cant believe that the groom got chicken pox, how bad is that for timing!! Poor fella. How sweet though organising fireworks for his bride.

Thats a very early wedding, but at least she has all day and ight to celebrate. My ceremony isnt starting til 3:30pm, so they day will nearly be over by then!

As much as Im used to sleeping alone, last night was my first night alone in Melbourne, and it scared the crap out of me. Neil had guard duty, which means he is on guard at the army base all night. I heard every little noise in the house. I locked every door and screen door I could but still got a little scared ph34r.gif The thing that made me worse is that my neighbour told me that there was someone hanging around her house at night, they could hear gates opening, walking on the gravel etc. Scary stuff!!

Yep I am hanging out to go dress shopping again. I will definately be investing in some nice underwear though hehe.

I go to brissie in less than 2 weeks for the weekend, and mum is coming back with me. Then its dress shopping til I find my dress. Cant wait, as then I can get onto BM dresses, sort out colours, and chose flowers etc.

Ok thats all I think.

PS YAY - ticker is saying 8 months!
Kathy W
OMG!!! Jo my head is spinning just reading your post let alone doing it all.I hope you and Jas get to spend some time together after being apart.

Michelle,

You and your mum will have a blast trying on wedding gowns just make sure when you find THE ONE take a photo of it so we can all see you in it.

Dancing Girl
Hi girls,

Mae, welcome to our March girls thread! What have you organised so far?

Michelle, how long is Neil on guard duty for? I know what you mean about hearing noises. I'm fine at home now, but if I'm in a strange or new house by myself, I tend to hear every little sound. Especially if there is stories about someone hanging around the neighbourhood. Your mind definitely would start playing tricks on you.

Jo.

---
Hi Mae, great to see you here!! How is your planning going for the big day?? Im getting married 18th March 2006 and have only booked the reception and celebrant. I am waiting to get a price list from a photographer thats been recommended then I will probably book her soon. Dress shopping for me in 11 days and Im slightly excited biggrin.gif

Jo- neil was only on guard for 1 night thank goodness! While he is training he wont do much bush time either, I think he goes away for a week at the end of the year which is great because at his last unit he was always out bush.

Hope all is well with everyone

Laurette
Hi everyone

Hi Mae, welcome to the March 2006 thread - I am sure that you will become fully addicted to i-do like the rest of us!

Sorry that I have been a bit absent lately girls, been a lot going on. Hopefully I should know today whether there will be a change in employment, and then I will be able to get the ball rolling over the next week if something is going to happen. I will let you all know how I get on. It's very nerve racking.

I have moved to another desk at work today, away from eveyone so that I can have some peace and quiet. I am hoping that eveyone will think that I am not here and leave me alone. That's the plan anyway. I have quite a bit of work to get through.

Um, finally picked bridesmaid dresses on the weekend - although the ones that I wanted werent the ones that the BMs wanted. The ones that they have picked are nice though, my second choice. Looks like I am going back to the Black White and Silver theme though. The latte dresses and pale pink flowers are out the window.

The girls have chosen floor-length black halternecks - nice.

I am also having doubts about my dress, and I want to list it on Ebay. Glenn urged me to wait until I get another dress though, just in case I end up with no dress. He's not just a pretty face. Although, he did go to a golf tournament yesterday and managed to lose his keys when his buggy rolled backwards down the 13th fairway and tipped over several times. Silly boy. Lucky I have a spare key to his car, or there'd be trouble.

Kathy, I am not sure about a flower budget. I am guessing about $600 should do it - I am going to be getting the flowers that I want though (all roses), regardless of what the bill is. There is only the one florist in town, and she's excellent, so she'll be doing them. I guess that I will have to opt for brighter colours now though.

Hope that you all have a fabbo weekend. I will have to try to get back in touch with Kate and see where she's up to!

Laurette

Mae
Hi Girls,

Thanks for the warm welcome!

We currently live in Melbourne but will be getting married in Perth.

So far we have organised:
Ceremony venue
Reception venue
Photographer
Car
Hair and Makeup
Most Jewellery
My dress

Need to get cracking on:
Everything else! We have a pretty good idea for what we want for everything else, just need to get on and orgnaise it. I'm not feeling too stressed yet - it still seems like it's ages away!
---
Hi Laurette good to see you back, hope all goes well with the employment issue. Hope to see you back again! Black BM dresses sound very nice. Have you decided what to do about your dress? Have you found something you like better or are you just having second thoughts about your dress? BTW I love your dress. Glad to hear Glenn survived the Golf buggy accident unsure.gif

We went shopping for invites on Sat, and found an idea which we love. So now it looks like we are going back to the paper invitations and not doing the website. I might still do the website for additional info for the guests. I willl be making the invites myself, so they are not overly creative, but they are simple and look nice which is all that counts to me!

Mum gets here on Sunday so we hit the bridal shops in 1 week!! Neils mum is taking me shopping on Thursday to look at material etc which is exciting. I might still get it made from scratch if I dont find anything I like.

We found a JP on the weekend and got out notice of intended marriage cert signed which will make the celebrant happy

Thats about all my news. Can't wait til my ticker changes tomorrow!!

Ebony have you been to the real Ramsay Street? We live about 1/2 hour away from it now. Last year we took mum and my sis to it biggrin.gif

Hi Magpiegirl! Cool name! Can I assume your either an avid bird lover or a Collingwood supporter? A tour of Yarra River sounds nice, we were looking at having our engagement party on the Yarra river boat but waaay to expensive for an e-party.

Well I just got home from my interview, wont find out til next week. They apparently have heaps of people to interview, so I dont hold much hope of getting the job, especially as they know Im an army wife (almost) and will be moving towns again in 6 months sad.gif
