If theres 5 of us already, imagine it 6 months out!
Leveque, we were thinking of getting married on the 3rd so H2b could remember 3/3/06 (or 3+3=06 as he put it!!!) then we decided we wanted it on the saturday so that went out the window.
So what have you all got planned so far?

Kate,
Didn't think about the date/number thing..it is easy to remember! we originally wanted the 4th but all saturdays were booked out for feb/march/april. The wedding reception is the only thing we have organised and it is at a place called potters in warrandyte, melbourne. How about you? I need help and ideas!

We had heaps planned, the ceremony & reception venue, cars, DJ, bombonarie(sp??), invitations etc (nothing booked) but Im starting to think that I dont want the big traditional wedding.
At the moment, Im thinking of getting our grandparents, parents, brothers and sisters, and H2B's 2 Aunties and their hubbys (in their late 20's so are great friends as well as family) and getting married in the city somewhere, having a huge all out dinner at Doyles or Nicks or somewhere, then just doing the big barbie for the rest of the family a few weeks later.
I just dont know at the moment. Im so indecisive at the best of times, and this being such a massive occasion I dont want to do something that I'll end up regretting.
Time is ticking so I need to get my butt into gear regardless of what I decide, its just so hard!!!!!
Sorry about the rant... I havent really added anything constructive have I?!?!

Hi! We have chosen March 4th '06 aswell. Planning to marry in our backyard, we have been trying to get plants in so they look good in a year's time. Also building a gazebo, and a hand-dug wedding "aisle" through the garden (have 1 acre block). Hoping this is the least-risky time of year weather-wise!!! We both agree on a low-key bbq, fire-drum, style wedding-that's what we enjoy most!!!

Hi girls,
25th March 2006 is the big day for us. Can't wait. The only thing's we have booked so far is the church and the reception. We're looking at photographers and cars at the moment and are that close to booking them. So it's all systems go at the moment.
I went to the bridal expo on the weekend and i met plenty of people getting married in march next year. It's a pretty popular time of year for weddings.

Hi girls
I can I be part of this group too! I am on the 11th March - it's only 'a year away' now!
How exciting!
I have booked the following;
- Ceremony
- Reception
- Photographer
- Band
we are working on getting the celebrant that we want, she seems to have gone on a pilgrimage to QLD, but she married H2B's sister and he is insistant that we have her - I said OK, as it's the only thing he's shown real interest in! She's probably really hot or something like that LOL.
We have a meeting on the 22nd of this month with the caterer that I already know we are going with, her food is excellent, just have to meet her one last time to confirm, so that will be good.
We have organised our cars, there are a few people that we know who have BA XR8's, so we are using them. Either two white and one black or two white and one silver, or two silver and one black. Personally, I am leaning toward the last one, with no white cars - just for something different. But then again, that is if I go with the theme that I want at the moment, which is black white and silver....
Looking forward to getting to know all of you girls better in the future - how many pages do you think that this thread can get up to in the next year?
Love
Laurette

YES!!!
Im so over it at the moment. Not "over it" but you know what I mean.
And Im still really seriously considering not doing the conventional thing. Rhiannon brought it up in the General forum, and now its made me really start thinking about it again.
We still havent booked anything because of this, so either way I need to make my mind up... and quick!
I'll PM about the cars when Im next online... Its HOMETIME!!!

First of all congratulations to all the march 2006 brides. My daughter is getting married on the 18th.Yes we're all very excited and planning like crazy.I dont think there is a day that i have'nt either picked up a bridal mag or turned on the computer to search for new ideas. She has the church booked and reception and has organized her gown and picked the b/m dresses she wants we are still deciding on wether to have them made or not as she is having 4 b/m's and they live in different states its a bit hard with getting fittings done.Anyway she also has bomboniere and bubbles organized her theme is hearts and color is soft pink.
Anyway happy planning girls have fun and enjoy the next 12 months.

Great to hear plans are going well, we have already been engaged for just over a year, but now that we are almost at the 12 month mark it's really starting to feel real and a little daunting, because I know I have so much to do, and I really don't get much spare free time with my current job!!!
Please keep us informed on how you are going... it's definately great to see so many March girls out there

After splitting with Fh on the 4th, we got back together yesterday, and today we have decided we are going to elope to daydream island. The weddin gplans had becme so out of control, everybody putting their 2 cents worth. Our budget was growing by the week, and in the end we could not decide who to invite to the reception, we wanted everybody but finances would not permit it. So I rang a travel agent today to get a price on the total cost of a wedding package with accomadation for 1 week for us and our 3 yr old. When we have a figure to work with we are gonna save and when we have half we are going ot book. No telling anyone then no one will get upset we will just them we are going on holiday. Taking my dress with me and going to try and arrange my florist so I can take my bouquet with me (I am having silk flowers) so at least one deposit won't be lost

My mum is so excited - It's gorgeous to watch - she keeps on coming up with great ideas, and it's fabulous. They are also being very generous and helpful toward the cost of the wedding, which is great for us trying to buy a house - we appreciate their help so much, especially after 4 years of drought - hopefully this year we will get a great harvest and things will all run smoothly.
Mum is really into it - she wants to create the most perfect day, and it's good to have this with her because in the past we havent really had a great deal in common with each other. This is bringing us much closer! I love it - it's so fantastic. We are going to look at material tomorrow and I am going to show her my wedding scrapbook, as I havent seen her since it was finished.
As for the FMIL, things are a bit rocky. Everytime that I suggest something or have an idea and TRY TO INCLUDE her - she has a fit and has to disagree with it. And she's got issues with the caterer that we have picked, but honey, I hate to break it to her, you can't get a four course meal (appetizers with waitresses walking them around during drinks, entree, main and dessert) for $15 anymore. Not even out here in the sticks. Ahh, sometimes I dont know why I bother!

We're getting married on the 26th of March 2006 - on my grandparents' 56th wedding anniversary. They're absolutely thrilled that we will share our anniversary with them!
So far we have booked the ceremony, and are days away from booking the reception (I think we've got a 14 day tentative hold), I've found the perfect dress - I think) and we have narrowed the cars down to two companies.
We still have a lot to do. We both work long hours (my fiance is a solicitor, I'm in the public service and do overtime, as well as studying law part time) but our families have been great and very supportive. We just need to iron out some 'issues' with the guest list.
I would love to know how you are all going and what you are planning.
I'm in WA btw.

Nothing like a Wedding to bring us Mums and our little girls even closer together.I cant wait to see my daughter and her scrap book that she has put together.April engagement party cant come quick enough.
As for your FMIL no you cant get much for around $15.00 pp these days.My daughter has opted for bridal package at $120.00 pp I panicked at that till it was explained to me what you got for that then I breathed easy as you get so much it worked out heaps cheaper this way instead of out sorcing everything less hassle to.Will list all in next post as have to go and do a set of acrylic nails(my job)now.

By the way where in the country are you from? My parents are having the same problem with the drought but still want us to have our dream wedding.
There's so much to think about and get organised, plus i have to travel to organise things as the wedding is in Griffith and i live in Oaklands (near jerilderie).

I'm glad I'm not the only one ranting about the FMIL!!! Unfortunately my mum lives overseas and won't be able to participate much in the wedding preparations. I'm hoping that she'll be able to come and visit in the next few months, so we can go wedding dress shopping together. The MIL is an entirely different story! She is really excited about her beloved son getting married that it's almost as if she was getting married herself! I keep trying to remind my h2b that she had her day 30 years ago, and that now it's our turn.
