Love your invites (you might want to black out personal information).
We had this wording for our engagement invites:
If you are having trouble finding just the gift for us, this may prove a solution with a minimum of fuss, just pop your gift in an envelope and pin it to our money tree and make a wish for happiness forever ours to be.
There's also heaps of wording in the words section of these forums - I can check in my bridal mags to see if I can find the one that had all the different wordings if you like.

oops - yep, you're right! thanks for that.
this is one I saw on the back of an invite -
As we have lived together in our home for a while & have almost all we need,
in lieu of a gift, a Westfield Gift Voucher would help us much indeed. This is the best I have seen so far - do you think its ok?

I think that one's great.
People understand these days, but you will still get the odd old fashioned ones that will buy a gift (that you prob won't like lol).

Everyone's been so busy!
We met with our friend who's doing our invitations on Saturday - they look great! Silver card with the text printed onto trace paper on top. I get to tie all the ribbons on them (sigh) and we're now not sure whether we want white or pink ... guess we'll decide when we're at L1ncr@ft or wherever we get it. Now to finish getting all the addresses so he can merge the list and send all the invites over!
We were supposed to do other stuff yesterday, but one of our closest friends gave birth, so we spent the afternoon getting to the hospital and cooing over her baby. I am very clucky and H2B very wary. Heh.
Nik, glad you're able to get your invitations redone!

Hi everyone, my weddding is 1st October and I have only just found this forum. I have left only a few things til late, have only just ordered my wedding dress this weekend eeek luckily I was able to get an 8 week delivery organised. Ceremony, Celebrant, Reception have all been booked and organised for a few months.
Still have to find BM Dress, Groom Suit FOB Suit, flowers, table centrepieces, bonbonierre all the fiddly bits I guess about from BM dress my sis is not complying with my wishes on colour of her dress but I dont have alot of room from movement on colour as my dress is white with a very light pink accent to it. FG dresses are a lilac colour. Any ideas.

Welcome Magoonme, I am having choc brown with pink if that helps you, the brown looks good with the pink.
Fiona- I went there as well have you tried nine west, they have two pairs only but are reduced to $59 at the moment they were $139 a month ago.
SAL - I love your song choices.
Jaheira - congrats on your friends baby.
kel - I think that poem is sweet straight to the point I think people are really accepting of vouchers, wishing wells etc these days.
Kristy - off to looks at your pics now.
Not much news from me got my first RSVP though.

I *may* have found somewhere and will probably have to snap it up given the timing, but it will cost us more.
Hi Magoonme, where did you get an 8-week turnaround? I'm a late dress-shopper too. Any reason your sister's so inflexible about her colours?

Hi Everyone,
I have started putting together noodle boxes now, I am covering each one in ribbons to match the colour theme. We are putting chocolate hearts with a fortune cookie in each noodle box. BTW if anyone knows where you can buy fortune cookies please let me know.
We are heading down to Sydney in the next month because H2B and BM (his brother) have both decided that they want to buy their suits and there isn't much available locally.
I have decided on my shoes now also. My dress is ivory and the shoes are gorgeous and best of all I will be able to wear them after the wedding!
Can't believe how quick the time is starting to fly by now and keep thinking that I must be forgetting to organise something, H2B is giving me heaps because he says he doesn't think he would ever see me this organised and in control.

Jaheira, I got my dress from Raffaele Ciuca, Brunswick (Melb) Had to pay an extra $132 but it will be delivered in 8 weeks, which is lucky cause the dress is "The One" and I dont think anything else would have been able to outdo it. That will give me just under 4 weeks for fitting and alterations but am hoping it wont need any. Normally its a 12 week turnaround and one other dress I sort of liked was 16 week with only a possible 10week express turnaround.
Not to mention the other kick in the pants of an extra $220 for the dress cause I needed a size 22.. so total cost just over $2200 which was $700 over budget.

I got the dresses from the same place as my dress, and 15% discount on top, yay

Jaheira, I'm clucky too, but luckily for us, we're trying for a baby straight after the wedding..... anyone else?
OMG, I can't believe your venue closed down, do you get deposits etc back?
Fiona, I'm going for silver shoes instead of white etc, can wear them afterwards that way and there seems to be more choice.
Yowch @ pricing magoo, but lucky they will do a quick turnaround for you..... got any piccies?
Erica, you can buy big boxes of furtune cookies at woolies

Kristy, not yet they wouldnt let me take a pic of it in store. Will be taking pics as soon as I have picked it up though, so will no doubt put a little glimpse of it on here. I'm trying to find a hoop petticoat that wont cost an arm and a leg atm and decide on shoes. Im making my veil, for the princely sum of $34 and that includes pattern, tule and beading for the hem. Its a 2 tier fingertip length exactly the same as one I tried on with the dress that was $209 to buy

Seeing some of the tickers saying 2 months and... has just frightened the life out of me

I'm still in the 3 months and... but seeing the ones saying 2 months and... made me realise how close we really are to all getting married.
I've had a horrible week with FH and we've done nothing but argue

He's now on holiday's and has headed back to Oz and I have a week here by myself... I think it will be much needed time apart

and the we meet up in Sydney early next week. I can only guess that he's been working really early shifts and gets home and is tired, I've been working later shifts, going to the gym and getting home tired... keeping my fingers crossed that we'll miss each other and forget all about our horrid past week.
Beetlebug - your invitations are lovely and your progress is great... it's keeping me on my toes

Kristy - your make up looks lovely, fresh and natural and I also like your hair style with the jewels in the top

Jaheira - OMG about your reception venue... I hope you find something very, very quickly and what you want too

Keeping my fingers crossed

Kel - your wishing well looks great but I didn't see the invitations in your photos, I'm guessing you've taken them off because you hadn't smudged out your details as Kristy has mentioned

Magoonme - welcome to the forum and being an October bride. That's great that you were able to get your dress in 8 weeks. For your hoop and petticoat have you tried eb@y? or the sales section of this forum? Good on you for making your own veil

I have found the dressmaker for my dress (YAY) and she was so good in explaining what material would be better etc. She will make it in 3 weeks so I don't have to worry about it until September and it gives me a little more time to lose the weight I need to carry the dress off

I have been exercising and am tired but have had a terrible food day today with all the naughty things I should not be eating - now you girls have to go cranky on me for being so naughty!!!

Kick my butt!!!
I'm picking up my bridesmaid dresses on Saturday (yay) and we got all our newly printed invitations back yesterday, so last night we stuffed all the envelopes and some of them were posted today and the rest will be posted when FH his Oz (yay).
Enjoy your week and touch base soon

hi girls
for the 22nd girls its
100 Days to go today!!
time is flying - my invites are coming together. yep, I took the link off cause I've shared those pics with a few friends and might wait until they go out before putting it back - dont want them to see the invites until they receive them.
Ive booked my dress fitting for 26th July so a couple weeks to at not eat junk food, go to the gym and
feel better at least! Im pretty happy with my dress - needs a bit of tailoring though so im looking forward to it fitting better so I can see what it looks like properly.
Thats it - havent organised anything else at this stage. Just plodding away at the invites each night! Hopefully they will be all done by the end of the weekend and I can start the next thing - place cards!

I am sooo stressing about paying for everything!!
I was awake nearly all night going over figures in my head and trying to add it all up and worrying that I forgotten something.
We are really cutting it fine....
Oh well, plenty of other things to worry about.
Kristy, I thought you hair and make-up trial looked great.
Jaheira- I hope you have sorted something about your reception by now- how awful, it would be sucha nightmare.
Everyone's invitations look great- we haven't really started ours yet
Good grief, I'm starting to feel like I will be glad when it is all over!!!

Thanks for the messages of support girls!
The wedding co-ordinator at the venue that was closing was fantastic - she rang around all the other hotels in the area and managed to find me one nearby. The package is different - and will end up costing an extra $500 or so - but she convinced the new wedding co-ordinator at the new place to match her price on the catering, at least, so it's not an astronomical increase.
Was *very* nervous for the early part of the week, though. I'm sending off another deposit today, so fingers crossed all will be well! We will get the deposit back from the place that closed, it's part of a large hotel group so at least they weren't bankrupt or anything.
I felt terribly sorry for the old wedding co-ordinator. Not only is she out of a job, but she had to ring up all the brides having receptions there and upset them!
100 days ... eek!
Nic, I hope things settle down for you! Probably just stress, right?

100 Days!!! WOW!!!
Thanks for the support girls

FH has already called me saying he's missing me and I've really enjoyed my couple of evenings by myself. You know how you need "me" time sometimes... that's been me

but I am missing him a little bit too

Jane & Kellie, it will all come together

Jaheira, that is great that the wedding coordinator rang around and found you a venue. She has some real integrity

Glad it's all sorted for you.
Karry, wow RSVP's already, how exciting!!!

We posted our international guest invitations out on Monday and today all the Australian guest invitations were sent out. FH gave his parents their invitation and FMIL just gushed over them saying they were soooo beautiful

and FH gave another invitation to family friends as they were going away and they gushed too

.
I'm sooo excited that they have gone out and can't wait for some rsvp's but they are going to my parent's place because they are in Oz and it's cheaper to post to Oz than to Hong Kong. I said to my mum she has to email me every day but I will be staying with them for about 8 days so I'll be checking the letter box once I'm there

Leonie - how did you go with your loan?
We went to the bank today and the lady said that our finance for our car is not a problem - just needs to get confirmed with their head office etc etc etc, soooo, today we went and put the deposit on our car. It's a silver 2000 Suburu Liberty Heritage...... top of the line, leather seats etc etc, auto. $23k

was marked at $26,999 lol.

(now I just have to get my license lmao)
Leonie
Jul 16 2005, 05:55 PM
Have to wait till Monday or maybe Tuesday to find out about our loan. The lady said we could do it straight away on the branch computer, and we would get an answer there and then. What she didn't tell us was that it only applies to new loans of under 2,000. So basically we should have done the appointment thing anyway. Oh well.

hi girls!
thank god its friday! been a stressful week at work.
3 months today for the 22nd Girls!!

Now it counts down into 2 months. Getting very real now!
Tam - sorry to hear about your auntie.
Leonie - how did you go with the loan?
Kristy - thats great news about the dressmaker.
I have managed to do my tax and h2b's getting done next week hopefully so soon we'll be able to add the returns to the wedding fund.
I printed my place cards last week so hopefully will get them made up this weekend.
I did have my first dress fitting booked for next Tuesday but decided to put it off for a few weeks. I have missed gym and been eating lots of carbs this week and feel quite 'yucky'. Gotta get back to gym on Sat and back into some kind of healthy routine.
Cant think of anything else - h2bs suit fittings are next week and I ordered cameras on ebay a month ago and still havent received them so emailed them again last night and they said that they should be here next week - hmm I hope so. Not that happy that I paid for them a month ago and just cause the wedding isnt til Oct they think they can just send them closer to the day.
Hope you all have a great weekend.
