I've been living under a rock...I logged in today and find out there is a new forum! I knew there were discussions but didn't realise it had actually happened.

Lucky I have my GTT test today so I will be able to catch up on everything that has been going on!

I've joined up as Scout. I'm taking the opportunity to go for a bit of anonymity as my username is so close to my name IRL. I've posted on there a few times already, and I actually really like it.

TBH, I don't feel like I've been able to break into the "groups" on here apart from in our small TTC group, so the only reason I will stay is if our TTC members choose to remain here. I'm hoping I feel a bit more part of it on this new forum.

I agree with the above quotes: is want us all to look the same in the new forum so I can recognize everyone. Can't for the life of me work out how to do a signature over there yet....haven't spent long looking and, like most of you, I am just slowly checking it out because I would rather stay with a crew I know as compared to starting all over again. I definitely don't have time for two forums so am mainly sticking with this one until a firm decision is made about coming/going etc.

Its weird. I dont know, I like it here because I know of most of you but when I had a look over there I didnt recognise anyone and they all have weird things in their sigs. I joined another 2 forums that were started from member here in the past but hardly ever got on and they both deleted me.

I'm likin the traffic over there, and they seem friendly. But like how we're all familiar with eachother here... I'm happy to straddle both forums for now and go with the flow, but I'd follow if a new forum is set up (although how to attract new members will still be an issue?).

PIG stands for Post-It-Girl, i.e. (as a PP said), the person who posts your birth announcement on the forum for you. I came across this term in another forum (maternal, haven't been there in ages though), so I've had a long time to get used to it.

Yep. Many people- myself included- never liked 'P.I.G' so when BM began we all decided to give our announcer a title we liked, whether it was PIG, babymaid, babyb*tch or whatever else struck our fancies.

Yes there are running jokes, some which have migrated from Maternal. All forums have them. *shrug*

When I joined here I'd never even heard of a forum and yes, it took a little while to meet people and settle in. It is daunting being the new person. But isn't it better to be a group of newbies (and still have one another) than watch the membership continue to dwindle here and face being the new person all by yourself later on?

I know there was a lot of shit that went down at Maternal and thats why "some" members joined BM.

There was a thread on there about a former Maternal member that made my skin crawl.
