Lol nice to know I am normal lol... our date is set for 24th August 2012 FINALLY!! We had it set for 20th July but our builder kindly decided that we needed an extra month to deal with on our new house so i brought the wedding to the august to compensate - so I will be married one week and moving house the next - oh the sheer joys of it all LOL

Love that idea for a centrepiece. Something with candles is always nice but by having something lower it makes it wayyyy easier to have conversations around the table!

Your reception venue looks amazing!
And that flowergirl dress is soooooo adorable!
Princessdora
Aug 1 2012, 09:19 PM
Windsor you hit the nail on the head, the tables are round so a low centrepiece will make it easier for conversations, i hate when you are trying to talk to some one but can't see them

Your venue for the reception has fantastic views! Just lovely.
I had similar centrepieces to those - they were very practical for round tables.

Unforturly our package is alternative serve

but we have chicken or seafood for entree then chicken or beef so that should cover most people I hope
**flowerrose**
Aug 2 2012, 09:01 PM
I was always dubious about alternate serves but I've been to several functions with it now and it works well. People just swap if they want to but most are really happy with what's put in front of them.
So the chicken starter will be served to those getting the beef main?

i never like the idea but most of the places up here that is the way it is. oh that is a good question FR i'm not sure i will have to ask =) most people will be happy with it i think but you can't please everyone i need to remember

I love those glass hanging bulbs!
The food looks delicious! What exact meals are you having?
We had alternate drop for mains and one starter (salmon) with an alternative for the non-fish eaters. I've always been happy with alternative drop if people are happy to swap. I know my husband and I almost always neatly divide them in half and swap halfway

At our wedding, our bridal table of 8 all wanted to try everything so everyone ended up going halves with the person next to them

There was a funny moment with 8 plates being passed around the table.

Louisa we are having prawn and avo Stack or Chicken Bacon and mushroom filo parcel for Entree they were so yummy i took mum as i don't eat seafood and H was at work
then Mains garlic butter glazed chicken and Now i have change to the rack of lamb instead of the beef fillet that is pictured as it had no taste and was bland. i feel the same most people are happy to swap, i can just imagine 8 plates being pass haha.
Monica thanks we just have to cross our fingues she will wear it on the day
i want to have floating candles and rose petals or heads but i just can't get the look i'm looking for (obsessed much lol ) so i'm still playing around with it at home haha

The food sounds great! Beef fillet can sometimes be very bland. I'm a huge lamb fan so the rack sounds delicious.
We had kind of flattish glass bowls on mirrors with floating candles and singapore orchid heads (the same colour as the BM's bouquets). I'll see if I can find a pic online. They used to all be in Yahoo photos which closed down

eta - not a good photo of the arrangement - I'll have a look on the other computer:

I missed this the other day but that is one awesome ring! We're in the market for a new one after DH lost his in the surf a couple of months ago (and I inadvertently have video footage of the moment so he can relive his shame forever!).
One cute flowergirl too

Windsor

to having video footage of your hubby losing his ring

I take my rings off for a few things only - making pastry/meatballs/chocolate truffles, and when I'm swimming in rivers/lakes/sea. I have a vivid imagination and have traumatised myself enough by the mere thought of losing them.
