Hi there
I'm thinking about getting a diamond from Di@mond Exch@nge but it's H in colour. Does anyone have a H coloured diamond engagement ring? Is it still lovely and sparkly and white in colour? Are you happy with it? Would you mind posting pics for me?
Thanks so much!! x

Seeing as H colour is only five scales down the chart from the perfect D, you could get away with it easily. Mine is a G colour and you could only tell if it were held up to a D, which I've never done in 6.5 years of wearing my engagement ring. Posting pics wouldn't make any difference because a camera wouldn't catch the colour - I'd recommend going to a jeweller and comparing stones that way.

Also, if you set it in white gold or platinum, it will look whiter.

What people will really look at is the size anyway. wink.gif

It won't be as white as a D, but as Neph says, you don't generally compare the colour once you have it.

Cut influences the sparkle, not colour. The better the cut, the more natural light goes through the diamond to make it sparkle and look bright. You can have a D or E diamond with a bad cut and it will look dull. So a H colour will not influence the sparkle the way you think it might.

I would much prefer a H diamond with at least an excellent cut (not even very good) rather than an D or E diamond with a good to fair cut.

Suggest going into a shop and having a look at a H diamond to see if you like it.

I think that as long as you love it then that's all that matters smile.gif
