Hi ladies, just wondering if anyone has had these on their areolas as a pregnancy symptom?

They were my first 'confirming' sign the day prior to my BFP (about 9DPO). Everything prior to that (cramping, sore (.)(.), crankiness) could all have been put down to PMS. Goodluck!!

I have these constantly..

I've never known what they were, nor even knew there was an actual name for them (just googled this term to check, and yup, that's them

) but I've had them/it for years.

I wouldnt say they were a sign for me because I only started getting them in the last month or so.

So is there anyone else who has these & hasn't been mid/late term pregnant??

Are they normal? What else can cause them? Off to pay a visit to Dr Google.

Ditto..
I've always had them. They might be more pronounced now that I am indeed UTD.. But I'm not sure...

I've had them all my life. Didn't think anything of it, and I don't think they changed when pregnant.
They're more pronounced when my nipple is erect.

Good to know. Sorry for the mini hijack Julie, but could this mean there's something you're not telling us?

I am another one who has had them for a long time, definitely all throughout my 20s. When pregnant I get more of them, my nipples also get much darker so the montgomery tubercles look more pronounced. I can't say I noticed them as an early pregnancy symptom...for a me a thick blue vein down my left boob and through my left nipple was the biggest giveaway symptom body wise.

Thanks for all of your replies ladies, I really appreciate them. Hey Nicole thats ok! Well at the moment theres nothing to report because Im still waiting for af to show up next week some time.
Im so bad cause I only have a really vague idea of when I O and when AF is due cause we arent officially trying for a baby. We arent using any contraception so its definitely possible to fall pregnant.
We BD'ed around day 16 and day 19 of my cycle this time (again its only a vague recollection) so its possible but I'll know next week.
Interesting development tonight though, and ****TMI coming up **** but I squeezed my nipples tonight before I had a shower and a white milky looking liquid came out, not sure if its colostrum.
My Isabella is 7 months old and I stopped breastfeeding her when she was 3 weeks old. I still had breast milk coming out in small amts up until she was 4 mths so it cant be that, therefore Im stumped!
Anyway, I'll keep you posted and once again, thankyou for your replies/

I stopped BFing DD1 when she was 6 weeks old & I was still able to produce milk up to a year after (could have been longer but I don't recall trying after that). So I wouldn't say this was necessarily a pregnancy symptom.
Best of luck with whatever the outcome
