Hi all !!

I am trying to find a suitable location in the Margaret River/Dunsborough/Yallingup area to hold a wedding reception. Our ideal would be to be able to rent one of those lovely houses in the area and hold our celebration party there.

The wedding is going to be intimate - with only 40-50 people attending. Some of those attending are going to be interstate and overseas visitors (my fiance is from the UK) - so we are wanting to show them a good time...and show off the south west!

We'd love to have a house reception because it would allow flexibility for those with kids (only a few!!) to bring them along and put them to sleep at the house, while we had our party, and also be a place where our two families can stay (so we would be looking at a place that could accommodate at most 12 people)...waking up the next morning to reflect and enjoy the memories all over again.

We are vastly non-drinkers, and if we were to have any drinks it would be a champagne or two...we would even be willing to pay a bond to assure the landowners that we will treat the property with respect etc.

If ANYONE has had any experience or knows of locations that might be able to accommodate this kind of request, that would be awesome!!!Any help appreciated.

Thanks so much

While this isn't a house it's a boutique hotel in Margaret River. They have a restaurant and other facilities that would be suitable for a wedding.

It doesn't exactly solve the problem of putting the children to bed, but perhaps hiring a babysitter would be a possibility, the babysitter could mind the children in one of the rooms.

It's a beautiful spot and the lodge has won a number of awards. If you can't find your luxury house, it may be something to look into.

Good luck with the wedding planing. smile.gif

would suggest my house - it's in the area - but sadly it's not a large luxry home :-)

In all seriousness, there is a company called regency which may have what you're looking for, otherwise maybe try the marg river bridal website?

My SIL is getting married at Flutes winery in Margaret River at easter, she showed me a while back the accomodation available and whilst it wasn't suitable for us it was gorgeous, I think it was a large house with4 or 5 bedrooms and seperate quarters?
