I know, stupid question alert!

So as the title asks, can I go swimming in a heated pool, so I can take my DS to swimming lessons? His lessons last about 30 mins.If it wasnt heated I wouldnt even be asking, but for some reason ive got it in my head that hot baths and hot water is bad for pregnancy?

I may just be losing my mind too.

Has anyone done this? Is it ok?

I have. And to be honest it never crossed my mind that I shouldn't have I was between 6-8 months pregnant at the time. The pool should be chlorinated enough to kill any nasties.

I know you shouldn't use a spa as the water stays in the pipes or something, sorry I'm not 100% sure why!

Heated swimming pools aren't anywhere near hot enough to fall in the same category as a hot bath. Most are only 27-30 degrees which I less than normal body temperature, so it's fine

I haven't done it personally, but there were heaps of pregnant mothers in my toddler's swimming class, so I always assumed it was okay?

yes its fine. I have a spa and asked my midwife if i could use it when pregnant with Aidan (i had been using it before i knew i was pregnant) and she said spa use was fine as long as it wasnt too hot. So a heated pool would be fine, oh and just remembered i was in a heated pool for 30 min with aidans swimming lessons when i was pregnant with chloe and that was fine

Yes should definitely be okay, a heated pool still isn't that hot. My friend and I are currently doing pregnancy swim classes in a heated pool and it is heaven!

Off to swimming lessons with Ds tomorrow, he loves them and Ive missed taking him as ive been on IVF meds (crinone/pessaries etc) still and now that today is my last dayof them im free to go swimming with him again!

Yep, I took Keira to swimming lessons and got in with her until I was about 38 weeks with Liam. She finally graduated to the big class the week before he was born, so I didnt have to get in with her after that.
