Glad your scan went well Monkey
AFM I just threw up dinner and got to see dinner come out of my nose even.
I hope that my night relief isn't going away now, I am struggling with feeling so sick all day, I can't handle nights like this too

hope you only have a short while longer with this. The nose thing is what gets me when being sick, it burns, especially when your nose is prone to bleeds, as mine was.

i have only thrown up once but the naseua is really getting to me too. I had breakfast this morning but on the drive to work absolutely had to get some more food so i got a sausage roll and that has made me feel ok even though i didnt really enjoy eating it. so gross i havent had a sausage roll since primary school.
congrats on the scan cheekymonkey, must be nice to be out in the open. I havent even told mum yet and i really want to!

Hi ladies
12 weeks today... Let the shopping begin!
Glad your scan went well Cheeky.
Ran: the nausea is the hardest part to deal with I think. Little bits often really does help.
Hold on tight: I really hope you start to feel better soon. Make sure that you aren't doing too much or under too much stress. Both of those things can make a really big difference.
waving to everyone I've missed.
AFM: Been feeling very crappy the last couple of days. The heat here is phenomenal and really getting me down. Soo tired and sick of feeling like I've been pulled through the ringer. DD not sleeping because of it last night has not helped. Hopefully she has a long sleep now and I can have a little catch up.

I had my history/ booking appointment with my hospital, as I had high blood pressure last time, I may not be able to continued with shared care of may have to have my appointments there from earlier than normal.
Also has I am a fat bitch (more nicely put as having a high BMI) it was also suggested that I see their dietician. I declined saying I know I am fat and said how I lost weight last time (I think the woman nearly choke). I was going to ask how do they hand someone 10 kg light who would gain 20kg as opposed to if I hypothetically only gained 5kg, but I decided against it in case the woman has to deliver my baby, I know it is hospital policy but I have loads more question this time. Will save a big one till I out myself.
I am also going to call during the week as last time at my booking appointment I got a referral for morph scan and this time nothing. I have to book in soon as we are away when I am 20 weeks so need to sort it out.
An update, still no symptoms and best of all no spotting in two weeks. A personal best. I am going to save the jubilation til after my scan friday.
Who ever asked about maternitywear, I bought a pair of shorts today as my others all have wait bands and are now too tight to do up (yet I haven't out on any weight) but they didn't have my size. I bought a size down figuring the stretchy part would be ok as it is to go over my tummy that already stuck out. No go. every time I stood up in the I would get a stitch pain, so back they go monday.
I hope Neek's scan went ok

Quick one, I am not at home. Don't worry too much about the odd pain (if you can). There are a lot of ligaments and things being moved around in there. I prob had what i think is ligament pain about 5 times today when I moved the wrong way or too quick etc. I also have had the occasional cramp/period type pain. hope everyone is feeling good.
thanks guys for the reassurance re: the pains. It is all new so have no idea what is normal. Will try to ignore it!

Mar 1 2011, 08:32 AM
Talking about pains, today I am now getting stomach cramps, hope this means I am not coming down with some tummy bug. My boy has had some major nappies over the last few days, one of them all over my mother's dining room floor and rug. Hopefully it's just a little bug and goes away quick.
If at any time you are not sure of any pains and are really worried - just go and get checked out for your peace of mind - there is nothing worse than stewing over these things and looking up dr google...

12 weeks today according to the dating US I had. Only a couple more days til NT scan. I will probably tell my boss Thursday before the scan. He is out of the office Friday, and I think I should tell him, in case someone says something if everything is OK and we tell people over the weekend. Plus if the news isn't good, I will probably need time off so might be easier if I tell him first.
I have been getting the stretching pains for a while, I was freaking out if I moved and didn't get them, although I got them one night when I rolled over and it was quite painful, but only lasted a couple of seconds.
Bring on Friday!!
I am excited about Friday too because I get to tell my mum! It has felt weird keeping it from her but I wanted to tell her face to face
Good luck with the scan dream
hope you are not sick Cheekymonkey! thats all you need right now (or ever really)
I think my body is fighting a cold so hopefully I win

I am meant to go to a yoga class tonight tonight but not sure I can be bothered, it means I dont get to eat dinner until 830 and i am usually so sick by then! haha. although yoga is good for me especially now that I cant do it every morning due to m/s

Scan today went well. Saw bubba and a heartbeat!!!!
The sonographer said the measurement would put bbba in the higher end of the normal rang but it might also be because instead of measuring the 12w3d I measured 13w6d and 14w.
Told my boss I started by saying I wanted to give notice I was leaving then I said I couldn't joke about it I was pregnant. He was worried I really wanted to leave.

Well it looks like I did have some gastro bug, but thankfully it was only a 24hr thing. kicks you around for a bit longer tho, but I am feeling normal again today.

Oh I was chatting to sonographer today (who was lovely) she did my 12 week for DS. I was talking about the water to drink and she said the one litre amount is much of a nothing. If you are hydrated 500ml could be enough but if you are dehydrated than one litre might not be enough.
it has been pretty quiet here lately. hope everyone is doing ok?
Told mum and she was pretty excited haha. we tell DHs parents tonight over skype. It is a bit harder having no parents around.
i fell down the stairs on the weekend,. not very hard but my mum was very upset. she was also telling me off for carrying things and bending and the like. not sure how many of these are old wives tales but i am trying to be a bit more careful.
have my blood test this week for the nuchal scan

Mar 7 2011, 06:03 PM
Hi, sorry I have been MIA. I returned to work last week so have been getting used to my new routine working Wednesdays and Fridays.
Finally made a decision re health care, reluctantly we are going to go public again. After doing more research it was going to cost $3k plus on top of our already large health premiums to have the baby in the private system and I just couldn't justify the extra cost when we really could use the money elsewhere. In addition, given that my due date is right on the cusp of the waiting period it was going to be a headache if I was hospitalised for any reason before the birth or had to give birth early so don't really need the stress on top of everything else.
Really not looking forward to going through the public system again but you get what you pay for, or not in this case

I rang the public hospital to book into the antenatal clinic and can't even get my first appointment until I'm over 17 weeks

Lucky for me I already had my first appointment with the obs so have already had my most important questions answered and I have a good GP to rely on in the meantime.
My NT scan is on the 14th, very much looking forward to that and hoping everything will be ok.
Hope everyone else is well.

Hope you didn't have too much of a fall Ran, never good pregnant or not. As for lifting things etc, as long as they aren't too heavy you should be right, considering I am still lifting our nearly 11kg son around, and I'm sure many other pregnant mothers do. Just don't go trying to lift a couch
Simone, I'm sure everything will be ok in the public system, as long as you know what you need to happen and just take the bad staff along with it.
I went to the hospital today for my booking in appointment. Didn't have to wait long which is a good start. DS decided to do a massive poo in the middle of the appointment with the midwife, so I sat on the floor and changed him while she asked me the questions... typical for him to wait until just the right time

I had some bloods taken, pee test and made some more appointments. This hospital is a bit different to the other one I had Ds at, but we will see how we go. I will now need to investigate a good GP that has at least some knowledge of antenatal care. Oh, and I also got to hear the heartbeat again

took a while to find as it is still early, but it was definitely there pumping away.
Hope you all are baking away nicely and things have settled down.

Mar 11 2011, 09:25 AM
sorry stalking (again)
Ran, I'm 26 weeks and still sleeping on my tummy about half the time. I'm normally a tummy/side sleeper and I'm still doing it as that is what is most comfortable. I find that when the baby has had enough I get uncomfy and move. I've been told it's pefectly fine and you'll get uncomfy before the baby has any real issues. Hope that helps!
ran
Mar 11 2011, 10:50 AM
thanks Tigridia! Feeling guilty and anxious about most things really. I know that sleeping on back is bad as the weight of the baby (well maybe later on not now for me!) can crush the vena cava (vein returning blood to the heart.)
Tigridia
Mar 11 2011, 11:24 AM
Yep, they say no back sleeping after 20 weeks but side/tummy is fine as long as you are comfy! Left side is better later on for optimal fetal positioning but that is mostly after 30 weeks
mrsmac05
Mar 11 2011, 02:25 PM
Ran: I'm also a Tummy side sleeper. What I found helps is to sleep with a pillow between my legs and around my tummy, sort of prevents me from fully rolling on to my stomach and gives me a much better nights sleep. HTH's

Congratulations Rosita

So glad your NT scan went well.
Ran- I still sleep on my tummy sometimes. It's probably not ideal, but when your tummy gets big you won't be able to anyway so perhaps try a different position now. When pregnant with D I used to sleep on my side with a pillow between my legs.

AFM: Have my next obs appointment on Monday so am waiting for that. Other than that feeling pretty good just really exhausted at the end of the day. I'm coming up to 15 weeks on Saturday. So far this pregnancy has been pretty uneventful, no MS so far and am really hoping this doesn't change. Still feeling pretty tired at the end of every day but I think that's quite normal when running around after a toddler and baking a second bub. A big congratulations to Rosita and Catmeo. Hope your pregnancies are smooth sailing from here on.
Well I haven't posted in a while as I have been slack, we had some family over the weekend and well the past week was just busy, or I was tired, or both
Nothing much happening in my little world of pregnancy, I feel fine apart from tiredness, haven't felt yucky for a few weeks now (since the little gastro bug thing I had). I am 15 weeks pregnant, time is slowly ticking by. Have my scan in 3 and a bit weeks which doesn't seem too far away.
Still need to find a gp to have my antenatal visits with, but I might just go with someone close to home.
Can't wait to feel the baby move, so I can have some constant reassurance that all is good. I have been feeling gassy like feelings, but I can't for the life of me distinguish those from a baby moving. All I can remember from my last pregnancy is that what I thought was gas was actually the baby... My tummy is getting bigger, will have to post a photo soon.
Ciao for now.

Thanks so much to everyone for the congrats xx
I had my NT scan this morning, and she said we had a great result of 1 in 3900

We also got some lovely pics of the baby, she printed two out for me but I can go in tomorrow morning to pick up the disc with the rest, I was bawling my little eyes out when she was going though all the parts, it was SO cute, the baby was gulping, waving, kicking, wiggling, yawning
