I am doing this and crossing my fingers everything will be ok.
Are there and Mummies to be out there for September?
I tested the day before I think AF was due and it was neg. Af never came and a week later a test came up positive (as have all the tests since). I have been on holidays but have a dr's appointment tomorrow. I know I had AF in November but can't remember when. If I go by Oct I would be due 31st August so am calling September.
If there is anyone else out there feel free to join me. Apart from no AF and positive tests I have no signs.
Hoping everything is ok.

Yeah MrsMac, glad to have someone else here.
I saw a Dr and had blood test done Monday, also got a refer for a dating US which is this coming monday as I didn't know date of my last period.
I got a call from the Dr's office this afternoon asking if I could come in today to discuss the results. Cue stressing. I said not this afternoon how about tomorrow letting the nurse now I was weird. Seems it has come up I could have a UTI and I need to discuss it with the Dr. I have an appointment at 11.30 tomorrow, fingers crossed it is ok.
Aside from that just sitting here hoping everything thing is ok as I have no symptoms.
mrsmac05
Jan 12 2011, 09:03 PM
I understand the stress. Its really strange. When I was pregnant with DD in 09 I was sick from the word go, this time I'm now 6 weeks and have barely had any symptoms. My only symptom has been bloating.
Don't worry too much about UTI's. Unfortunately they are fairly common in pregnancy.
FC everything goes well for you tomorrow.

NO WAY! I just created my anon log in and then came looking for a Sept mummies group! I promise I the name is a complete jinx!! I will go see if I can change my name after I post this.
My Due Date is 24/09/2011
Clearly that shows I am very early in my first trimester - four weeks today as the doctors would have it, or two week from conception.
I have had 3 positive pregnancy tests with the lines getting darker each time.
Ok I have just changed my name from dreamalittledream to hold on tight

it's so quiet in here...
I thought I would try to get some activity going with some questions
Do you have a feeling about the sex?
Will you find out the sex?
Do you have any names picked out?
Public or Private?
Are you going to have a baby shower?
Have you made any purchases yet?
mrsmac05
Jan 21 2011, 01:25 PM
Do you have a feeling about the sex? I have a feeling that we will have another girl.
Will you find out the sex? No we got surprised last time and it was great so we will go for the surprise again this time.
Do you have any names picked out? Yep but we aren't sharing them at the moment
Public or Private? Private
Are you going to have a baby shower? No baby shower here people end up giving you lots of things once the baby arrives anyway.
Have you made any purchases yet? No purchases specifically for this one yet. Will wait until after 12 week scan.
[/quote]
AFM: things are plodding along. I have been lucky so far this time and not had morning sickness, touch wood that continues as I had a full 9 months worth last time. Just feeling really tired at the moment but have a feeling that has something to do with the summer cold I have developed.
Hope everyone else is going well.

Jan 21 2011, 01:31 PM
Thought that I should probably answer the questions I asked myself too.
Do you have a feeling about the sex?Yep - I think Boy, I guess I have about a 50% chance of being right!
Will you find out the sex?For sure! I can't wait to to find out
Do you have any names picked out?I do, but Hubby doesn't like any of them, so it's back to the drawing board
Public or Private? We have full cover private, but so many friends in my area tell me that it is better to go public, a few went private the first time and public the second and they all say the public experience is better. Despite being pub or priv you only get your own room if there is enough room. I am still up in the air about this at the moment but hubby wants me to go private.
Are you going to have a baby shower?
Yes, this will be my first child and I bet my girlfriends can not wait to throw me a shower.
Have you made any purchases yet? Nope, and will not until after 12 week scan, will not be telling people (not even my bff) until then either, do not want any gifts until after that safe period. I have some gifts from a previous pregnancy that resulted in a loss and even though it was a lovely thought, it breaks my heart to see them there unused. We will be very secretive this time.
AFM: I am so glad today is Friday, because weekends always go so fast, then I have two work days, then a public holiday and then my first scan. I am trying to take one day at a time to get through this first trimester, though loving that (theoretically speaking at least) this next week should fly!

Jan 21 2011, 02:53 PM
Do you have a feeling about the sex?
Maybe same as last time
Will you find out the sex?
I asked DH at the beginning of the week as he was the reason we didn't find out last time. However he wants to find out this time so if the gender is different I can move all the "save for next time" stuff along
Do you have any names picked out?
We had the name we didn't use last time, just have to find out if I still like it as much, or if we have to pick one of a different gender
Public or Private?
Public. We don't have PHI and everything was ok last time going public
Are you going to have a baby shower?
No
Have you made any purchases yet?
AM on the cusp of buying a pram just have to get DH ok. It is a great deal for a hardly used strider plus with everything.
mrsmac05
Jan 21 2011, 08:57 PM
Dream: We have a strider plus. Love it and hate it at times. It can be a bit tricky to get through small shopping areas but it is great for taking on long walks and over terrain. Its a monster really but a good solid pram compared to some of the others available. Hope you like it.

Hi ladies, I've come to join this group!
This is my second pregnancy, due 24th September at this stage. I'm excited, but so wracked with nerves, can't believe I'm doing it all over again! Hoping to get to know all of you...
Do you have a feeling about the sex?
Thinking boy at this stage. Had a dream once I would only ever have boys, and that has come true so far!
Will you find out the sex?
I'm undecided. Loved having my firstborn as a surprise, best thing I did. But was tempted last night, and even more so this time for practical reasons. If it's a girl will have to buy much more than if it's another son for us.
Do you have any names picked out?
If it's a girl we will use the name we had picked out last time. We had the worst time choosing a boy's name last time, don't know how we're going to find another!
Public or Private?
This is interesting for us. I went public last time, overall was happy with my care, though I had a horrid time in the postnatal ward with the awful midwives. Only fault I can find though. Wanting to go private next time, we took out private health insurance. But I fell pregnant much more quickly than anticipated, and I am due exactly one year to the day I took out private health cover. As there is a 12 month waiting period I am still yet to ring the insurer and find out my options.
Are you going to have a baby shower?
Probably not, as I had the big do last time and it was not that long ago! But would like some sort of gathering to celebrate the new one's arrival without gifts.
Have you made any purchases yet?
No but given that my son is only 13 months old I have a lot left over from last time. Yay! Things I do want to buy are: a bassinett attachment for my Mountain Buggy, some form of baby carrier as I didn't have one last time and thinking I might need it with 2 under 2, that's all I can think of so far.
Hold on tight, hope your scan goes well. I am going to wait until after 7 weeks to have mine, I might book in this week or next.

Congratulations and Welcome Simone

AFM - I just went for my first scan, bit disappointed as I am measuring a day behind what I thought, I was hoping I would actually be further along... wishful thinking I know.
So my sac is measuring at 5w5d and they see a yolk sack but no fetal pole.
My everything is crossed for my next scan in roughly two weeks.
mrsmac05
Jan 27 2011, 12:35 PM
Hold on tight: Have my fingers crossed for you. Hope everything is great at the next scan.
Welcome Simone. We have an 11 month old so we will be another in the 2 under 2 category. I'm a bit nervous about that to tell the truth. DD can be very head strong and over active so I'm hoping that maybe she gets a little bit chilled out by the time the next one arrives.
AFM: Still here, still hanging in there. Go to see the Obs next week. Supposed to be 9 weeks by that stage so we shall see what happens. When I went to my first appt with DD I was measuring 2 weeks behind so we will see what happens this time. Will let you all know how it goes.

Fingers crossed everything is ok Hold on tight.
I had a small amount of spotting again last week only a very tiny amount.
I have still had almost no symptoms. My Tummy is a little firmer. It isn;t a cute flat tummy (never has been) but it was floppy after I had our bubba and is now a bit harder, SO I am taking care as somethings are a bit tight.
Apart from that I have been sick the last week. I was the last one standing and copped it friday and have had this horrible summer cold for a week.
Welcome Simone.

Hun I read your post and just wanted to reply to hopefully help ease your mind a bit - at my early scans my sac measured 5w6d and it looked completely empty! Not even a yolk sac. The following week there was my bubba with a good strong heartbeat. AND weirdly the baby was measuring 7w3d, but according to the previous weeks sac measurment it should have been 6w6d! Jan 28 2011, 09:44 AM
Hi and welcome ran! If you have any questions try me as I went through it all for the first time not long ago. Where I am in northwest Sydney it seems to be routine to give mothers the option of what they call 'dating' scans, or early scans. Luckily round here they do them at radiology places that bulk bill so there's no cost. Maybe request one if it's not offered? I've been to different GP's with my two pregnancies and both times I was offered one.
Dream- Hope this is the last of your spotting, the first trimester in particular moves slowly and is an anxious time. I feel your pain- I've had a cold for almost two weeks now, it sucks!
Mrsmac- I know how you feel, I wonder sometimes what I've got myself into doing this all again so soon! But I thought it over before we started trying and I think I'm doing the best thing for us.
Fingers crossed for good news at your next scan.
Hold on tight- I remember feeling disappointed when my due date got put back in the first trimester. It is still very early so it's not unusual for there not to be much to see- stay positive!
Thanks ladies for the welcome. I feel so unorganised this time round, after falling pregnant so quickly! I still have yet to ring my insurer and haven't yet re-opened any of my pregnancy books, might book in my scan for the week after next today.

Ran, The scans are called dating scans. Handy if you don't know the date of your last period. I didn't have one last time, however this time I didn't know it so was sent for one. There are some arguments that too many ultrasounds are not a good thing if they are not required, and if I have of known my date this time I also would not have had one. Some people also have more scans if they have had an assisted conception or miscarriages. A lot of women also don't have the NT scan either so they only have the morphology scan at around 20 weeks.
Almost a week and no more spotting so am hoping that is the ned of the spotting.
I ended up laybying the strider plus. Out local store had a special buy the strider get the toddler seat free so for about $1100 I get the complete package.

Hold on tight, I am sure everything is fine. As for what is an "excessive" amount I am not sure, I have done some goggling and haven't found one study that concludes it is harmful. So it probably isn't, the internet release all sorts of people with info out there. And lets face it babies health is everyones main concern so if the Drs thought that there was an issue they wouldn't do them. They would have more idea than google.

The first few months crawl by you worry about every little thing. THen you hit 12 weeks and think "well everything should be right now" but it is so hard.
THis is my second pregnancy with no morning sickness, or any other telltale signs of pregnacy for it is really hard for me too. I keep thinking that there was nothing last time and everything was ok, but of course I still worry.
It is so funny, I was thinking last night, to know how slow 12 weeks can go by is being pregnant to know how fast they can fly is to have a baby.

Thanks for the info re: dating scans. I dont think my GP was very helpful so have booked in to see an OB and will see what she says re what to do nexdt. It is so annoying that it is so early and I cant tell anyone in real life abouot this because this is my first and I have no idea what is going on! LOL
Satuday night I started freaking out that I dont have enough pregnancy symptoms and even though HPT and bloods say I am pregnant, I convinced myself I wasnt or that something wrong. In the morning it didnt seem so bad so I think I talked myself into worrying for no reason!
Anyway hope everyone is doing well and stressing less than me!

Hi ladies
Welcome Ran.
Sorry have been MIA been really busy trying to get our house renovated. Still have a long way to go but hopefully the contractors pull their fingers out and get things moving again this week.
Hold on tight: There is some research into how many scans are too many but it is all speculative at best. It appears to be more based on opinion than actual scientific research. My Ob scans at every appointment and you still have the 2 major scans. From what he has told me in the past for scans to be causing problems you would pretty much need to have one every week. It would be more things like x-rays that you should be wary of.
Ran: I'm like you and barely have any symptoms this time around. So I'm pretty nervous for my appointment at my Obs office this week. Just have to have faith that everything is ok.
Well ladies sorry for the quick post and hi to everyone I have missed.
Will try and get in tomorrow and see what's happening with everyone.
