Sorry, wasn't sure where to post this, but my BIL and his wife are on IVF and they are having an embryo transferred today. They only just started on this journey and we're all super excited about the news!

Can someone tell me how long it takes before they know if it was successful or not? I asked hubby and he didn't want to ask just yet, and I'm guessing it will take a few weeks? It would be a lovely Christmas present for them to have a BFP

Yep they will have roughly a 2 week wait.We had jack transferred as a day 3 embryo so when he was 14 days grown we had a blood test, so it was 11 days after the transfer

Further to Michelle's post, if she had a blastocyst transfer (5 or 6 day embryo) it will be closer to a week that they may know. Depends on the clinic too. Mine does a blood test on day 28 (which is 9 days after transfer) but others wait for a week longer than that.

so yes, she will definitely have an answer before Christmas. All the very best to them, I hope this is a wonderful Christmas.
