I always wanted a jewel tone theme for my bridal party, so my BMs are in Sapphire blue, Amethyst purple and Emerald green. I'd intended to continue the theme and have my flower girls in different gem colours - Peridot green (lighter and brighter than emerald), Tourmaline pink, and Citrine yellow. Now it's getting closer though, I'm seconding guessing myself and wondering if that will be too complicated and thinking maybe I should have lighter versions of the BM colours instead (can't have exactly the same as I have BMs in silk, and want cotton sateen for FGs and colours aren't likely to match exactly)
What should I do?

Could you have the flowergirls in white with a silk sash in the colours to match the bridesmaids??

Keira is flowergirls for my SIL next year and we have aqua blue swirl dresses and Keira's is white with a sort of layering of the fabric from our dress on the bottom half. So the top of the dress is white then it has a sash part with a flower and flowy in the same as us but you can still see the white underneath.

I like the idea of the pastel version of the BMs. Although I also like Claire's suggestion too.
What's the rest of the theming like? Have you incorporated the peridot, tourmaline and citrine colours elsewhere?

Sorry, that was pretty hopeless and unhelpful, wasn't it! wink.gif

Katie I did pastel colours for my FG . MOH was in sapphire blue silk, FG was in a light aqua-ish blue dress that gradually changed to a medium aqua towards the bottom of the skirt. Both dresses were off the rack from totally different stores.

I haven't got much in the way of colours happening yet anyway. I'm trying to figure out flowers at the moment which I'm also totally confused about. Our chairs and table cloths are white. Andrew hasn't sorted out his guys outfits yet - they'll be in kilts rolleyes.gif with silver ties, I think.

You could have a bigger colour sash though. We just used a thin ribbon on the dress to add colour.

This sounds like a great idea. I think if the FG dresses aren't an exact match or a pastel version of the BM dresses there might just a bit too much colour. It will probably also cause you a lot of headache trying to source the right colour fabric for the FG dresses when you can just use the offcuts from the BM dresses for the sash.
