Hi Ladies,

I am thinking about buying the medela mini electric pump for breast feeding but am not sure which steriliser kit to get that the medela bottles will fit e.g. tommee or avent etc.

I was not sure if other bottles e.g. avent bottles would fit the medela pump either.

Which one would you suggest or would you recommend another brand pump?

Thanks for your help

only medela bottles fit the medela mini electric.

I never used the bottle that comes with it for anything other than collection. I would collect in the medela bottle then tip into a TT bottle or into the freezer thingys. Then I'd wash up the expresser bit and bottle for next round smile.gif I only sterlisied the breast pump and medela bottle by way of tipping boiling water over it. So I only needed to put the feeding bottles into the steriliser, and we had the TT one (we got the microwave one which came with 3 large bottles).

Hiya

I only used the medela bottle for collection as well, I just poured it into sterilised Avent bottles etc or freezer bags.

I did however pull apart wash then steriliser the medela pump/bottle n bits using the Avent stand alone steriliser. Worked a treat!

Not sure what steriliser they fit into sorry i just use a saucepan and boil everything. And am like the others and just use their bottle supplied when pumping. Havent bought any teats of theirs yet.

I can tell you thought that Nuk bottles fit onto the pump (well the glass ones i have), basically all parts seem to be interchangeable including the teats. And seems to be the same with my Evenflo bottles.

I only used it for collection too.

For sterilising, I just used Miltons tablets. I found it easy just to plonk it in a container full of it after expressing.

I hve the avent digital steriliser. Fit medela biottles as well. Awesome steriliser!!!! biggrin.gif

Nope, the happy baby narrow neck bottles, and the cherub baby narrow neck bottles both fit the medela pumps and they are all BPA free.

We always used the narrow neck bottles - as recommended by our lactation consultants.

We used a microwave tommee tippee steriliser (or often the microwave bags).
