Hey lovely ladies!
I'm searching for some cool ice breaker games/items for our wedding reception.
I have come across some little question boxes on etsy and a few bits and pieces but was wanting to see if any of you have ice breakers at your reception?
What is something inexpensive and not too time consuming that I could whip up over the weekend? (I will need 80 of them).
TIA!

Ice breakers as in getting people at each table talking to each other? I can't say I've ever been to a wedding where they've had ice-breakers, so I don't really have any ideas sorry.
Other than maybe having a slideshow up of photos which the whole reception can watch and rely on that to start conversation?
I know stores like kikki-k have those novelty boxes "conversation starters" if that's the sort of thing your after?

Yeah to get people feeling more comfortable and have a few laughs whilst getting to know each other.
I'll have to check out kikki-k.

I heard of a party (I'm pretty sure it was a sit-down dinner 40th birthday) where the had a 'treasure hunt' or sorts - so, for instance, each table stack of 'clues' - the top one was for that table and said something like: 'Find the table with five accountants on it' so they would go around and when they came across the other table, they would get the next clue from that table's 'stack'
I'm pretty sure it ended up that the 'prize' was something like 'Now you've made lots of new friends!' and that's how they got around each table having sometimes vastly different clues - though honestly, I feel that's a bit lame, especially when you could make each 'last clue' the same one.
I wasn't there, but I did hear that it caused a lot of fuffing around - because people were up and down all through dinner service, so that might not be what you want. But, it's an idea!

For my engagement party I had a 'pass the parcel'. It just floated around during the whole time and in each layer was a question. Eg, find a person with a blue car, find someone who's favourite show is Home and Away etc. You can make them general or you can make some specific that you know the answer is only one of your guests.
Another fun thing I had at my wedding was instead of people clinking their glasses to get you to kiss, I had these balloons that when you blew them up and then let them go (you don't tie it off) it made a weird shrieking noise. Each table only had 2 so there was limited use, but some people were funny and chased after theres and pulled them down off things. It was fun and lightened the mood and made it fun

I went to a wedding where each table had a copy of a quiz on it - questions about the couple. where they met, where they work, favourite activities etc etc. First table to answer all the questions won a bottle of wine. A great ice breaker as different people on the table were able to answer different questions

I seen in the current Cosmo Bride, disposable cameras on the tables and it was a photo bingo game, so there was a big list of random things to get a photo of and you cross them off as you go. eg. Red shoes, people laughing, flowers, a little girl, your mum, you, cake etc etc. I thought it was a really good idea and you will get lots of unique photos in the eyes of your guests.

At a wedding I went to last yr, the MC got everyone standing and then said things like;
'Sit down if you've had Maccas in the last week'
'Sit down if you had sex last night'
'Sit down if you're wearing a g-string' etc etc
Some were really tame and the worst was the sex one, but it was really funny and got everyone laughing and loosened up. I guess the idea was just to get everyone sitting down at the end, but it was really funny.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!
I'd love to hear more ideas. I'm liking the idea of photo bingo or something along those lines.
