I am wanting a really good digital camera and hubby is going to get me one for Mother's Day.

Only I know very little about them, excpt they take an awesome photo.

I have had a look in Ted's Camera world and I was looking at Canon. Is that a good brand??

Can anyone tell me a great camera to invest in around the $1100-1500 mark.

Also one that I am not going to need a photography degree to use, although happy to learn the best way to use it.

I just don't want to waste money by getting something that is not great.

Any recommendations????

hey I am getting one as well and I am already booked into a photography course.

I am looking at the Canon 50D - i am not so keen on having video on my SLR. I prefer the feel of the canon in my hands to the Nikon
