Hi,

I have posted a topic in the travel section in regards to having my breasts done overseas.

However in this section my questions relate more to the specifics and your personal experiences.
Please feel free to PM me if you feel uncomfortable discussing your experiences on a public forum.

My questions relate to recovery time and post-op care i.e. massage etc.

Also what are your opinions on the standard implant or the tear shaped ones?

The use of saline or silicon?

Where you descided to have your incision and why?

Any other information you can add or just general personal experiences would be great.

Thanks.

Nicci

I have nothing but good things to write about my breast augmentation I had done back in Oct 06.

For years I noticed my boobs starting to sag prior to the surgery, and it got to the point that I could not wear a bathing suit without ALOT of support otherwise I just looked horrendous with big saggy blobs out in front.

I was never a small cup size to begin with. 10D. I originally had thought about have a breast lift, so looked around for a surgeon with a good reputation and found one in Bondi Junction that offered extremely reasonable prices too.

My first consult I expressed what I desired to have done. A breast lift. The surgeon that I saw was extremely informative, non invasive & non pushy whatsoever. In fact, he guided me to go for the breast augmentation after hearing about my concerns about my breast sag. He asked alot of questions which resulted me into being guided from having a breast lift to a breast augmentation. His information that enabled me to come to the decision that I did was that if I had a breast lift, they cut around the nipple & basically move the nipple up, plus you lose alot of breast size PLUS I would never be able to breastfeed if I had this procedure done. His analysis on me was that I had breast droop equivalent to a women that had breastfed two babies. I havent actually had children.. sad.gif

So the decision was made that I would go for augmentation after his guidance. His information being that the augmentation will correct the droop. With my body type/frame I could carry off a larger bust quite well AND I could still breast feed when the time came. The implants would be inserted under the breast tissue where your underwire bra sits.

Pre-surgery we went through sizing. I think I tried 350cc. They felt pretty good (wore them inside a bra for a few hours). I also went for the silicone as they had a firmer feel and would 'look' more erect given that I needed help with the breast droop. I went for rounded over tear drop, again relating to breast droop.

During surgery I was kept awake (bare in mind I do NOT remember anything) and when they inserted the 'dummy' implants to see if this was the size I wanted I had a friend with me to make sure I didnt do any 'insane' decisions. laugh.gif I did decide to go a teeny bit larger, and opted for the 365cc, although one is 360cc & the other 365cc as I had one boob slightly bigger than the other.

I did not need to go under the muscle wall as I had enough 'flesh' on my bones, so post op I had minimal fuss & pain. In fact after an overnight stay at a serviced apartment & then having the drains removed the next day I drove home from Bondi Junction to Penrith. ohmy.gif

Post op - First few weeks were difficult as I am a tummy sleeper. Yes it was annoying & uncomfortable but nothing traumatic. I started back at the gym walking on the treadmill at 3wks post op. Tried to massage whenever I remembered, but to be honest I forgot quite a bit.

Now 3.5yrs post op people dont even know that I have had a breast augmentation. The surgeon did a fantastic job. They bounce & look very real, but the beauty is when I take my bra off they only slightly adjust but still sit there quite round & perky. Such a boost to the ego!! blush.gif I also have minimal scarring & you only notice if I really point it out to you.

HTH. Any other q's just ask.. smile.gif

SmittenKitten to put it simply, I don't need bigger breasts, I want bigger breasts smile.gif

I have considerded having a breast augmentation of many years, the best part of 10 years I would say. So it is not a descion I take lightly or with haste.

Obviously people's opinions differ to plastic surgery, I am for it.

RubyTuesday, thanks for your informative advice. I will re-read what you have written and get back to you if I have any further questions.
My question for now is who did you see in Bondi and how much did it cost? PM if you wish smile.gif

Thanks again!

Regardless of the operation / reasoning I do not feel surgery is something to look for the 'cheapest option'

Your health is a one off gift - find the best surgeon with the best reputation and the best possible aftercare. Appendix / obstetrics / doesn't matter what the surgery.

You might believe that the quality of care can be equal to here but it simply isn't worth the risk.

Put simply - you are worth more than that.
iamnicci
Taylor, I totally agree. Which is why I would make an informed decision, waying all the risks.
In turn I have hoped to further my knowledge by gaining peoples personal experiences.

I myself have friends and friends, friends that have had work done in Thailand.

While I value people's opinions, I have really only posted these topics for informed experiences and recs.

However thank you for taking the time to comment. smile.gif

Good luck with finding a surgeon Nicci!! Pls do let us know how you go if you decide to have the procedure done. Again, I cannot speak highly enough of my personal experience. Yes other people's experiences may differ & all should be taken into consideration, but it sounds like you have /are doing quite a bit of research.

Glad you have thought about it alot. I have a very strong opinion on breast surgery so best I not get into that. But I don understand how you would like bigger boobs. But IMO unless there is a MEDICAL reason to get them then, I think you should be happy with what god gave you! But like I said, no arguements here. It is totally your decision. I have my reasons for how I feel. I was just curious as to why you wanted them! smile.gif

SK dont start seriously - why come into a thread that you have to oppiset feelings towards and than state that? What a waste of time! rolleyes.gif

I know 4 ppl that have had boob jobs than mum has had a lift and reduction and style sorta thin - one here in ctown, one in penrith and two in thailand. Neither had any stand out better jobs, treatment, or recovery that i know of. My sister in law that had it done in penrith i know the best have spoken the most to her about it, as i have been very interested in it and have all the docs details etc speaks very highly of it but unfortunatly was done here not thailand. I have heard of it being common going over there though!
iamnicci
Thanks RubyTuesday, will do.

Alana, how are you?
Would you mind asking your Mum, who she went to in Phuket? Did she stay at the same resort for her recovery, the same one we stayed at last time Laguna Beach Resort?

How is Rylan and Jaan, please send our love smile.gif

Miss ya! Xx

I've had a reduction but I wanted to offer my support regardless. So much of our identity as a woman comes from our busts and it's important we feel comfortable in ourselves. Although extreme, sometimes this is what it takes. I understand SK’s point of view because I was a large E-cup and it would astound me people would willingly put more weight inside their tops, but the entire procedure opened my eyes. My surgeon said that women with small to no busts often had more hang-ups than women with oversized ones, but without the physical problems obviously.

I can’t offer any info on your questions because the surgeries differ so greatly. I can tell you however it was THE very best thing I’ve done for myself and I’ve never regretted it. My self esteem rocketed and even hubby gets flashed now (nearly gives to poor/lucky guy a heart attack). tongue.gif

Good luck with it.

Who was it in Ctown Alana??

I am in the same boat as you Nicci,

I have been contemplating it for what feels like forever, I am a AA.. Flat as a tack.. always have been, I dont feel comfortable in swimwear, or lingerie, I have never left the house without my chicken fillets, and am always self conscious, even with FH...

I'm interested to find out what you decide to do and how they turn out.
iamnicci
Nephthys, you're right, to many women a large part of their identity as a women relates to their body image i.e. breasts.

While I don't have a low self-esteem, or feel the need to have bigger breasts.
I would like them to enhance my self image, for purely aesthetic reasons. Extreme? Perhaps. smile.gif

Out of probaby 20 or so women that I have known and still know, no one has had any regrets and would do it again in a heart beat.

I appreciate your ability to look outside your 'box' for want of a better word and value your opinions, as I have read many posts you have written.
So, thank you.

Rachae, I will let you know what happens and how I go.

For me, Thailand is an option as I am going back next month and have been on a couple of other occasions, so it is familiar.

Prices are also in context over there, as with many things.
Five star hotels are a fraction of the price as here, without laxing on quality.
A can of coke is a 1/3 of the price as it is here, it is the same product and quality.
I could go on, but you get the jist.

It's all relative.

i am also a 10D, and looking at breast augmentation, im just wondering what size you were after your surgery?

I have since returned from my holiday to Phuket.

I went ahead and had the surgery, after much research.

The hospital was the best I have ever been to, I have not been to a better one in Australia.
My recovery room, was amazing; flat screen TV, balcony with tables and chairs, a lounge if family or friends wanted to stay the night, fridge, safe, private bathroom. Very modern and very clean.

The international correspondence staff were great and answered endless emails. Everything was clearly explained, drivers picked my family up from the airport and transfered us between hospital, hotel and airport, included in the cost of the surgery.
I hired a mobile phone and sim from the Phuket International Aesthetic Centre (PIAC) for about $8, the entire time I was there.

The process was thorough and smooth.

I have recovered very well, with minimal pain, no external bruising, the incisions are neat and my breasts look very natural.

My only regret is not going larger dry.gif

I would highly recommend my surgeon and PIAC.

Wow good on you!

Congrats Nicci. So glad you are happy with them.

Sorry to hijack, but if you don't mind me asking, how much did it end up costing you? (PM me if you don't want to share in open forum).

Also, do they also do rhinoplasty at PIAC?

Cheers,
Poppy
