I'm interested in having an appointment to have iridology and was wondering if it was worth it. They say the eyes are the windows to our soul and I've heard some good things about it, but not so much stories and was wondering if anyone here has had it done and what did they say?

TIA
Avery
I’m a big fan of naturopathy and iridology. I have a medical condition which I see a naturopath for, and she has helped me beyond belief.

The first time I saw a naturopath I was pretty sceptical, and the first thing she did was look into my eyes, didn’t ask me my symptoms or anything and just by looking at my eyes she knew EVERYTHING. Freaked me out a little at the time to be honest.

I know there are lots of sceptics (especially my Doctors! Lol), and I only talk from my personal experience, but all in all, it’s always been positive.

I am also intrigued by iridology and always wanted to try it - Shelly are you based in Sydney at all?

if so can you pass on the details for your naturopath.

thanks smile.gif

I keep on telling DH to come with me as he has always had a black spot in one of his otherwise clear blue eyes and I have always wanted to know what it indicates!

I have strated to hear alot about this and am intrigued too.

I took my son last night and now are following the naturopaths advice. We have nothing to lose we have been to drs ect so hopefully we will see some positive results too. Everything I have read about it, our advice and my sons symptoms it all seems to be ringing true.

I'm keen to book myself in too and just see what they have to say.

I hope your little man starts feeling better soon, honestly only usually takes me a few days to feel better. Hope it works fast for you smile.gif

Thanks for the responses.

I considering giving it a go, but won't really be able to afford a lot of the natural remedies. Do you still think it's worth going?
Avery
I usually find that its the first visit that is the most expensive one.

Ive had 2 naturopaths, and with both i've found the first consultation is very detailed, and Ive required the largest amounts of mixtures. In visits after that because we are starting to get things under control ive required less mixtures/tonics etc.

And honestly, my naturopaths have been fabulous in not pressuring me to buy from them if ive needed supplements (I take livatone) and I can usually get that at a discount chemist for cheaper. Obviously you have to buy any mixtures from them because they are made specifically for you

hope that helps?

I was always told that the eyes reflected what happened within the body 6mths prior to it showing up in the Iris'?

If that is the case, then obviously it can still be beneficial in diagnosing longer term illnesses, allergies, etc, but not something thats just started occurring accurately?
Avery
hmm, not sure about that LiAsh. Ive always had a pre existing condition when ive seen a naturopate, so you could be right. Although my pregnancy wasnt a pre-existing condition and she picked that up laugh.gif

I just wanted to let you know we had one very happy boy yesterday. Daycare even commented on how happy he was. And when I got home he was running, jumping around and very cuddly. wub.gif (he really should of been in bed when I go home, but when hes like that who can argue wub.gif)
I hope it continues and not a coincedent.
On a downside though he did wake mid-morning (2am) very upset and I had to give him cuddles and rock him back to sleepy, but he did settle quite well when I left the room. I have heard though it can stir some babies reflux up so I'm not put off by him waking (he has always woken during the nights about 50% of the time, so its not a new thing either).

Oh and cost wise it cost us $70ish. $50ish for the appointment and $20 for the potion. We have to get another one yet though which they didn't have in stock, Its an Iron supplement, I have to get it through them because Ri can't take the pharmacy available ones. Ours was alot cheaper then I was expecting but then we are going through elmination diet so not alot of need for potions at the moment.
