Thanks for reading this...

I'm booked in on Monday for LLETZ surgery after they found moderate pre-cancerous cells on my cervix (CIN 2).

I'm not worried much about the surgery but was wondering if you have had this done before - did you have any pain afterwards? I'm going under general aneastetic, the procedure takes 10 mins and they said my cervical area would be numbed so I didn't feel pain afterwards but as it wears off they said it may start to ache. There also may be bleeding.

I would just like to hear anyone's experiences if you don't mind sharing. Also, did it muck your cycles up at all?

TIA smile.gif

Hi Trezzy
I had my LLETZ procedure done last May. You dont feel a thing (as your under), bit of period like pain afterward, and groggy from being under. The kept me in hospital for nearly a full day. Bleeding was just like a period and doesnt last to long.

And no it didnt really stuff up my cycles only put them a few days out on a few months.

Good luck

Trezzybree
Thanx Ems! Glad to know it's not that bad! smile.gif

I had mine done about 4 years ago now. I felt no pain and had no bleeding aftewards. The only horrid thing about it all is that I was so groggy after the general.

I was on the pill so my cycles, of course, didn't change.

Thanx for that. Interesting as I'm not on the pill so I wonder if my cycles will do anything abnormal...I figure I will probably be groggy but last year when I had my wisdom teeth out I wasn't too bad when I woke up. The no bleeding thing is interesting too! I hope I don't bleed or bleed much as I have the races on the Thursday after and wanna look good in my dress without having to be bleeding & uncomfortable too!

hi trezzybee,
i had a lletz last year, and am now 19 wks pregnant. i had cin111. i only had a bit of pain for two days, had bleeding on and off for the next six weeks, and then discharge. we couldnt try for a baby until i had the checkup, eight weeks after.
my period did go out of wack quite a bit then it went to a longer cycle, then i found out i was pregnant.
so its not too bad. just take it easy afterwards and youll be fine. good luck with it all. it helped that i had an excellent gynea.
hope this helps, ange.

Thanx for that info ange. Congrats on your pregnancy! My gyno has told me to stop trying for 3 months and I think this is something we are going to need as it's been getting to us lately.

I'm on the idea now that my body will do what it needs to after the surgery so I will just have to wait and see. smile.gif I will take it easy and hopefully my body will rest enough to make room for that bubba we will be making in June!

I had a LEEP (similiar to a LLETZ) for a CIN 2 a few years ago, I felt a bit off and was advised to take it easy for a couple of days after the procedure. Bleeding was like a period, didn't really seem to effect my cycles.

We starting trying for our baby as soon as I had the post-op check up and you can see the result of that in my signature. The only issue I had during my pregnancy was that my cervix was scarred and was one of the reasons I ended up with a c-section to deliver Isak.
