Our wedding is coming up soooo fast, time to get down to the nitty gritty and stop worrying about the colour scheme laugh.gif

We are having the ceremony at H2B's family farm, there will be maximum of 60 guests, some HUGE drinkers, some dont drink at all, a few kids. We will have drinks and nibblies at the farm for an hour and a half after the ceremony so people have something to do before being transported by bus to the reception. How many drinks do we need to allow?

We are thinking at rough guess, assume 30 people drink beer, 30 drink wine/champers (some will drink anything going lmao), allow 6 beers per person for 30 and a bottle of wine/champers per person for 30 will see us right, plus water and cool drinks. Is that enough?

There will be some light beers, a mix of full strength and red, white and sparkling wine plus bottled water, coke, lemon lime and bitters, lemonade and fanta.

Any thoughts or suggestions welcome smile.gif

If it's just for the 1 1/2 hours, 6 beers per person would have most of your guests blind drunk before the reception.. I reckon I would allow 2-3, with most people probably only having one or two.. also some soft drinks are probably a good way to go too smile.gif

Some bottle shops in some areas allow you to over order so to speak, and then return drinks you didn't need if you're having a large function. Might be worth checking around?

I was going to say about 3 pp until I read that it's pre-reception. Some people will only drink 1 or not at all in between ceremony and reception. Perhaps count on 2-3 pp but bank on having leftovers.

On second thought I do think 2 - 3 will be plenty! We can drink all the leftovers the next day. Thanks for your help.

I agree with ^^

If you are budgeting for 6 mids (beed) for one and a half hours people are going to be sluring before the reception!

For an hour and a half, I would get....

5 bottles of white
5 bottles of red
4 bottles of champagne
1 carton of lights
1 carton of mids
24 pack of water (especially if in summer)

I still think that you'll be bringing some of that home though....
If people consume all that in 1.5 hours I'd be very surprised....
