Hey girls smile.gif I thought we might as well try and get this show back on the road. I miss chatting to you all and keeping update - though I guess we do a lot of that through facebook.

How is everyone going ? I think we've all had our birthdays now? One! It's awesome isn't it? I'm really loving this stage, seeing so much more of Mayana's personality starting to come through, and playing with her - I love it!

Mayana is walking (well, running), chatting with a few real words thrown in, and is on the go ALL the time. I don't think the child is still unless she's sleeping!

We had a lovely first birthday party, I just can't believe that milestone is behind us already.

Mayana will be starting daycare in March, when I go back to uni full time. I'm a bit nervous - not so much about the daycare part, but about trying to keep on top of full time study again. It's going to be full on!
The daycare we've chosen is lovely, and we were very blessed to be able to get her in for all the 4 days we needed. She'll only be there 1 full day, and 3 mornings a week. When we visited to check it out, they encouraged Mayana to get down and play, and off she toddled, without even looking back at me. When we had to go, she cried because she didn't want to leave! Little social butterfly that she is, I'm sure she's going to love it! We'll see how I really feel leaving her on that first morning though, lol.

I really hope we can revive this group - I'm sure some of us are going to need it over the next months - me included!!

Hi Zoey,

Thanks for opening this up.

Its days between when I can get on here. We've had a few busy weeks, well actually since Christmas I don't feel like things have stopped and before I know it its the end of January already.

Yes I love all the stages, even right from the start, the rolling, crawling and now walking, well running. I love finding out new things about his personality, and it does just feel like hes a little person now smile.gif

Good to hear Mayana had a great birthday. Did you find it a rather emotional day as well?! I remember everything hitting me on NYE and remembering the words coming out of the doctors mouth saying if we don't get him out today then.... Gosh I cannot put the rest to words.

What are you studying Zoey? At least it must take alot of the stress of knowing you had found a day care that you are happy with, and bonus she liked her little introduction there!

As usual we have a long list if things to do today, starting with the groceries, visiting Brett's grandparents and then off to my Mum's for dinner tonight cause my Nan is coming up.

Have a great day smile.gif

Thanks for starting this thread Zoey.

Isabella turned one on Friday. We took her to the aquarium for the day and she loved it. She was fascinated with all the fish - it was so cute seeing her point at them all. We also went to Wildlife World after and she kept pointing at the kangaroos saying "dog" - so cute. We had her birthday party at home on Sunday - it was a fabulous day.

Bella isnt walking yet - she walks holding onto one of our hands but not on her own. I dont think she is far off though - she can stand for quiet awhile by herself but I think she needs to gain some more confidence before she tries to take a step. I dont mind though - she gets around fine and crawls everywhere superfast.

Cant wait to hear how daycare goes Zoey. Bella had her first day last week. Her 2nd day is today. Her first day she was fine but this morning when hubby dropped her off she cried a bit. They said often the 2nd time is when they have trouble because they now realise that they are getting left there. I'm sure she'll be fine though - the daycare is great and I can call as many times as I want to check up on her wink.gif.

We have her 12 month check tomorrow - cant wait to find out what she weighs. She's still a little tiny tot but feels like she has put on a bit of weight over the last few weeks.

Hi everyone!!!

Zoey Mayana is such a cutie pie!
Sounds like you will have a pretty tight schedule come March, but I am sure you are starting to see a light at the end of the Uni tunnel! That must make you feel good! It's good you have found a DCC that you are happy with.

Alana I also feel like I have done nothing but run around since Christmas too! Granted I worked full time for all of January, that's probably why. Hubby is a teacher so was a stay at home dad for the whole time, he loved it! He hated going back to work. He kept saying how easy it was to stay at home. Mind you, he just played with Logan the whole time, did a load of washing here and there, and the dishes sometimes. Never mind mopping, cooking, dusting, vacuuming etc etc!! LOL

Keely Logan is the same as Bella on the walking thing. He walks in between Simon and I, the most steps he has taken is about 8, but if he isn't anywhere near an adult he prefers crawling. I think he just needs to get his confidence up.

gg I hope you are OK, that doesn't sound good at all sad.gif
Yay for Ollie walking! It's so exciting watching them grow!!

Well we are going good! I am working at the bank 3 days a week which is perfect, Logan is growing nicely and has a huge appetite! He weighs 11.84kg, and is 84cm long. Basically the average size of a 21 month old! One thing we have to do is feed him more solids and cut the bottles right back to only morning and night.

Logan is also sleeping really well too. We had a whole year of waking 3-5 times a night, then BAM! Just before Christmas he started sleep 12-13 hours and hasn't stopped! I am at a loss as to why he started sleeping through, as we hadn't changed any of his routine, but I am not complaining! LOL I am wrapped. I had forgotten how good a full night sleep was...

So I went and got a check up from my GP the other day, as we want to get the ball rolling to go back to IVF, but she said I had to lose 11kg before she will give me a referral to my fertility specialist, so I have joined Weight W@tchers. So far I have lost 3.5kgs. Very happy.

Morning ladies,

Will just be a short one from me as we are off to swimming within the hour.

Great to hear from you Amy. I can happily say things have calmed down a little now. We have similiar sized boys, Ethan is 85cm and just over 12kg and boy do I feel it, my body is now aching at the end of the days. I didn't know he was the size of a 21 month old ph34r.gif 3.5kg is a great loss congrats!

gg how special Oliver started walking on his birthday!! Heres hoping you have a better year this year.

Incase you didn't read my post in the general section, I had a horrid night with Ethan Sunday night, up most of the night with him, then he started his day at 5.25am wacko.gif Anyway yesterday I found he has cut his first molar - ouch. Must be the time for it cause I red a few of us are going through the same thing. I just wish I could take the pain away, that crying breaks my heart. I do remember it was about 3am and I had the tears running down my face to, he was just so distressed sad.gif

So exciting that they are all walking or so close to it. Such huge milestones wub.gif

Does anyone else do Gymbaroo? Brett takes Ethan swimming on Wednesdays, but I go and watch so I wanted something to do with Ethan by myself. After our first class I was tempted to give up, however persisted and it has paid off. We do Gymbaroo a Monday morning. Gosh was that an experience - the teacher is great, great equipment however I had Mr Attitude who just wanted to play. He then spent the rest of the lesson pinching me, trying to whack my face, bite my nose ph34r.gif and crawl and run away from me. I felt like I had spent 45min at the gym laugh.gif I am serious it was a little work out! Anyway Mon this wk was our 2nd lesson and he was so much better, happily came to the mat with everyone else to sing and dance (he loves music). So that was great smile.gif

Gosh its so sticky and humid here today. Its only going to be 28 but I was tempted to put the air con on when he started his day at 5.30am again, however I resorted to a fan. Now its dark and looks like its going to rain.

Ok ladies better be off have a great day

Hi ladies,

Just wanted to pop in and see how the week has been for you all??

Any special plans for Valentine's tomorrow? It's just another day for us, we prefer celebrating our wedding anni which was only last month. Plus we cannot afford roses at the price they are atm laugh.gif Tomorrow we will probably just head to the beach for a fish & chip lunch, the 3 of us, then go visit my Nan who lives down that way.

Have a great day tomorrow!

Ohhh Alana, sorry you had such a bad time with Ethan. I don't know what that's like yet, given that Logan still has no teeth at 13 months old.

Nothing special happening tomorrow either. It's my birthday weekend (my birthday was on the 10th) so today Simon, Logan and I went to Chadstone Shopping centre and then stopped off at Gumbuya Park on the way home (Gumbuya Park is like a wildlife Sanctuary, but also has toboggan rides, Water pedal boats, a water slide, Go Carts and little motorised cars, mini golf etc etc). Logan LOVED looking at the animals. Unfortunately we didn't have time to see the Kangaroo's and Emus, but we had so much fun we will definitely go back soon. Also, maybe a trip to the zoo is in order!

I also have had a shitty start to the weekend. Yesterday Logan fell and split his lip. His mouth was full of blood when I picked him up and he kept coughing in between his screaming because he was swallowing blood. Once I cleaned him up and put on Yo Gabba Gabba he was fine, but I still took him out to my parents house (they are both Nurses) to get him checked. Dad said if he had teeth, one would have gone straight through his lip. Luckily he doesn't!!

Alana we don't do Gymbaroo, I would like to but it's so hard to get into down here. I might give them another call to see if there is a position. Logan will love it, I think. Everyone I know who's child has done Gymbaroo has loved it.

Hi girls smile.gif

Sorry for no posts lately - I haven't been on the computer for about a week!

Amy - Logan is so cute with his big gummy grin. I bet once he starts teething he'll get them all at once. My sister didn't get any teeth until 14 months, and then cut them all within 3 months!!!

Mayana loves the zoo too. We took her to the one in Perth, and she absolutely loved it. Mind you, she called the lion "Jack" which is her word for dog, lol.

Mayana's also cut her first molars. Pretty crazy. I can see a whole lot of white buds on her bottom gums, but I don't think they'll cut any time soon, just a bit of movement I'd say. She's been a bit unhappy with it though, poor blossom.

She's been a crazy kid lately! She RUNS everywhere, and is starting to climb. She's so tiny and it's hilarious to see her scaling couches and anything else that she can reach. She even uses the slippery dip at creche at church! I nearly had a heart attack the first time I saw her, but she seems to be pretty competent, lol.

I've not done any gymbaroo or anything with Mayana. They don't run it here, though they do have something similar. We even have missed out on swimming lessons because of the kerffufel with our uni timetable.

We still have a couple of weeks till uni goes back - and Mayana starts daycare. I'm half dreading it, and half excited. I think Mayana will love it.

Anyway, I've got to go and wake up my little miss before she sleeps so late that she doesn't want to go to bed tonight!

Nice to hear from you Zoey. We have hit the running climbing stage here too! The molars aren't fun at all are they!! Did I read correctly somewhere its your final year of uni - are you excited? Must be a good feeling thinking all that hard work will soon have paid off.

Amy, glad to hear you had a nice birthday. Yikes about his accident, that must have been a blessing in disguise that he doesn't have any teeth then yet. Ouch. I think one day soon your going to come in here and tell us Logan cut all his teeth over night laugh.gif With Gymbaroo, even put your name down on the waiting list if they have one. I swear by the class all the kids in the class enjoy it.

Not much to report, I am still exhausted and try and have a half hour catchup sleep somewhere in the day just to give me some energy to get through the night! Ethan's still his happy self during the days that is, and then the nights are a different story. His 2nd molar is coming through and he seems to be getting another tooth near the front. I just hope they all start coming through soon to be honest. He's had nurofen 3 nights in a row now.

Hi ladies,

Just wanted to check in and see how you are all going?

I am so over this heat - 36, 38, tomorrow is 40, 36, 38, 37 - YUCK!! The last thing I feel like atm is going out in the damn heat and becoming a mass of sweat!

We have had a mostly quiet week at home as its been so hot and Ethan is like me and doesn't go too well with the heat. He did have swimming this morning and the pool and the actual centre were like a damn sauna, Brett swam with him, but I had to have another shower when I got home as I was drenched!!

Ok enough about the heat.

Amy, how is Logan coming with his teeth? Like I said, one day soon I can just imagine you saying he cut them all over night laugh.gif

Zoey, I am guilty of looking at your blog, your Mayana is so adorable, she doesn't stop smiling.

Anyway, Brett works tonight as usual, so Ethan and I invited ourselves to Mums for dinner and a sleep over, her air con is alot better than ours so I will be in heaven.

Have a great night everyone smile.gif

YES! We have teeth!

The other afternoon he was grizzly, bum red raw, and he woke up during the night screaming. The next morning he had cut his top two front teeth! He now has also almost cut the ones next to them. No bottom teeth yet though. People have said it's rare to cut the top first?

Ugh Alana to the heat! I don't envy you. Where abouts are you again? Yesterday it was lovely, about 25, but today it's meant to be about 30.
Alana what does your hubby do? He obviously works nights?

Nothing much else is happening here. I am enjoying work. I work Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Usually on Monday and Tuesday my mother has Logan, and on Wednesday, MIL has him. However I have applied for Family Day Care, to a lady by the name of Mary Anne. My nieces and nephews all go/have gone to her, she is brilliant. We are looking at just the Tuesday for now, and it's good because my sisters little girl Charlotte will be there that day too, along with 2 other little girls.

Yay for Logan's teeth Amy!!!
Mayana's working on eye teeth at the moment. Urgh. She has four big white lumps, and I hope they just pop through with no mucking around. Surprisingly no red bum though....

Alana I'm glad you've been enjoying my blog wink.gif And I totally agree.. Mayana is adorable, lol.

Amy, home day care sounds great! I would have loved to use that, but places are so hard to find here. I am happy with the centre we've found though. I'm sure Logan will love it - especially if his cousin is there! How lovely smile.gif

We're on the countdown for uni now... it starts on Monday, and Mayana starts day care. She's going to love it, and I'm so happy with the centre, but I'm still feeling a little nervous and apprehensive about leaving her there, iykwim. We'll see how we go on Monday I guess. Luckily first day is only a 2 hour lecture. As far as uni itself goes, I'm actually really looking forward to getting back into it. I missed being on campus last year.

Keeley, how are things going with you?

Hi ladies!!!

I was wondering if anyone would start up a Jan 09 mummy's thread! YAY!!

In all honesty, I am hardly ever on this website anymore, but have started back up smile.gif so would love to chat on here more often!!

Am at work today (I work every Friday) so I will sit down over the weekend and have a read and catch up on everything, but to you all - hope you have a lovely weekend!!!

smile.gif
~ela~
It's great to come in here and have people to chat too!

Amy that's great news about Logan's teeth I knew it couldn't be far away! Ethan cut the top 2 first as well smile.gif Sounds like you have your days with work planned out well. You will have to let us know how he goes with FDC. To answer your question, we are in Perth, and Brett works for a warehouse that distributes the fruit and veg to Coles.

Zoey it must be a good feeling finding the ''right'' centre. I am sure its normal to feel nervous as its her first time in day care, but once she sees you when you pick her up and you get big smiles and cuddles I am sure the nervous feeling will be gone smile.gif

Hailey, nice to see you have popped in. What do you do for work on a Friday?

Anyway I am so excited I am off to see The Blind Side tonight. I have stayed the last 2 nights at Mums with Ethan due to the heat (I think Wed was 38 and yest was 42), and she is looking after Ethan tonight so instead of coming home around 10.30pm we will just stay there again - plus its a bonus her house is cool, I hate the heat.

Then tomorrow morning I am catching up with my 2 gfs and we are going to a waterpark, well I guess that's what it is called, the water is only 80cm deep but I am sure Ethan will have a great time. We have a full on weekend so I will try and check in again later tomorrow night.

In the meantime happy Friday everyone, enjoy your weekends with your little ones smile.gif
