Hi girls

I put off starting this thread because I didn't want to admit that we all "nearly" have toddlers! *sniff.*

sniff sniff from me too!!!!

...and hello new thread!

So re our facebook group, maybe we could have that to share our pics that we don't want to show the whole world, or any 'specific' idnentifying type info that we don't want to share publicly on this thread, and that sort of thing?

I think the thread in the 12-24 month old would be good. It was only today actually I nearly found myself heading into the December 09 mummies thread! I couldn't believe now there are December mummies of 09. ohmy.gif I sighed and thought to myself, must be the sign we need to move up to the 12-24 month forum. laugh.gif

Mel, ick to having to work a long day, but yay to having more spending money for xmas! I was supposed to go to this research info night thingy tonight that I was going to get $75 cash for 1.5hrs but I had to cancel as hubby has gone to work. His apprentice pulled a sicky today and so the job isn't where it needs to be so he needs to go do some on it so it stays on schedule. I rang up the chick and told her the go, and then she's like going on that can't I find a babysitter and all this stuff and I'm like, no, I'm not just going to palm off my child, and it was from 8-9:30 too so it was a bit late. She really put the guilts on me. The meatball recipe was just out of the CSIRO book actually. Do you have those at all? Did you end up doing your walk yesterday morning?

Shall try and get a video of the bubble blowing in the bath. I had a lovely shower with her this evening which was good. This arvy she was playing with her phone and she actually had the ear piece up against the side of her head and was chatting...so cute. wub.gif

Sam, yay to the wee in the loo! Have you had any more successes? Yay to the hairdresser visit, almost blonde...sounds awesome! You must put a pic in our FB thread. biggrin.gif

Channy, yay to finishing the working week! I've got a bit of an ick week this week. Worked 8-4 yesterday but had to head out and help set up a display last night for 2 hours from 6pm. Today had to work 7-3 but flexed off 2 hours early for last night and cos hubby had a quote to do a bit out of town. Tomorrow am working 1-9 for an evening event I'm running. Then working Sat 9-1 then off for a few hours, probably more flex time, then heading back at 4 to help dismantle display. Then back to work again for 4 days, but then 3 day long weekend. I'll be hanging out for that I'm sure! Not good to hear A hasn't been his usual self. sad.gif How is he today? Never been overseas before! We're going for a month, specifics on times and where I've put on our FB group. smile.gif We have a little lamaze dolly that Frankie got given when she was born, that we use for a sleeping toy/comforter. We did buy a back up as well. She doesn't seem to have her though unless she's in bed. She was pretty tired the other week though, and had gone into her room, reached through the bars of the cot and had Polly pulled to the edge so she could hang onto her and suck her thumb. laugh.gif Hope dress shopping was a success. Frankie slept for nearly 3.5 hours for her day sleep today! ohmy.gif I was amazed. I'm wondering too if it's the heat that takes it out of her a bit. She's also really not that interested in eating, plus is seeming to get tired out a lot easier.

It's stinking hot here again today. Bout to go grab a cold beer.
sam-lou
leigh i think thats a good idea about staying here and having other stuff on fb. I am actually quite attached to this thread i have realised.

no comforters here other than a total dummy addiction. isabelle has a bit of a routine thing where she likes certain dollies/bears/monkeys/whatever is her current fave tucked in the bed with her, sometimes with its own blanket and pillow! one of those is her doddle which is the same as Frankies Polly doll. Zoe has nothing in her cot at all. did have a flat square thing with a lambs head on it that is smooth one side and soft and furry the other but she was totally disinterested.

she fell asleep sitting up the other day. she had two dummies and i peeked in the door and she was sitting with her back against the cot rails playing with one of them. i went in a few mins later and she had her head down still sitting up but fast asleep.

how nice are showers with bubbas leigh. i dont get to do it often enough.

ok ladies, off to read my book and try and go to bed early. zoe was up at 5.50am this morning.
Bella Angel
Give me a week and a half and I'll be in here. I'm not ready to admit my little girl is turning 1 soon sad.gif tongue.gif
Channy
I'm with you Katie - my little boy has just over 1 week to go!

Such a big milestone turning 1. When has was a crying newborn I thought of him at 1 and thought he would be a little boy. Well he is in so many ways, but when he's having his bottle before his sleep and he lets me have a cuddle, he's still such a baby still..

He slept 6:30-7am, so pretty good this morning. He has a cold, runny nose etc, but in pretty good spirits. He is carrying Bebe all over the house. I popped him up on our buffet while I gave Aidan breakfast, Aidan claimed him back afterwards!! I hope the replacement Bebe turns up today! The other one soooo needs a wash.

My Mum is coming over today. I might slip out to Coles to get a few things while she's here.

Bought a beautiful dress for my Xmas Party tomorrow night! It is Casino Royale theme, so I went with a strapless maxi dress. It was $200, but I have a wedding in April and I'll wear it to that too. Plus Karl and I are thinking of doing a weekend in the city and a nice dinner, so might wear it then too. Well, that's how I justified anyway laugh.gif

Better go see where A & Bebe have gone...back soon!

I'm back - he was tired, so popped him into bed. He feels a little warm, so will see how we go. I think he just needs sleep.

Leigh - read about your trip on FB, you must be super excited! When are you getting yr passport? Frankie's will be so cute wub.gif I would love to go to US, we have to visit Karl's family in Canada one time soon, so I'd love to do some US while we are there. Are you hiring a car? I'm with Mel re the flight, I'd have to drug Aidan!! A girlfriend of mine just flew to Switzerland on Tuesday with her daughter who is turning 1 on 21st - by herself! Now that would be hard work ohmy.gif

Sam - any more wees in the potty? It'll be so good when you have one less child to nappy change...it's so hard to pin them down long enough to change it!! I'm sentimental just like you..I love our old thread, I love looking back at photos etc. I'm such a marshmallow smile.gif

Mel - thanks for starting the FB group, it's nice to see the other girls too! I have often wondered how our other Dec Mummies and bubs were. How is Mia's walking? I read on FB that she hated being on her playdate...is there anything you can do or will she just grow out of it?

Katie - How is Halle's walking going? Such a clever bunny. Is Cohen getting excited about Santa coming? Are you organised for the party?? So close!!!!!
Bella Angel
Sorry don't have time to do a proper post but just had to come in here and say.....

Halle just walked across the room twice by herself ohmy.gif

I think she might be walking by her birthday......

Back later for a proper catch up x
Blushy
Hi girls

Katie wooohoo! One of the youngest in the group but already walking! Im hanging for Mia to walk, hurry up child!

Channy ohhhh I hope Aidan isnt getting sick again, poor bub. Your new dress sounds divine wub.gif I bet you will look gorgeous. Ive never even tried on a maxi dress, I might have to try one on, maybe buy on for christmas if it looks ok, not sure if I could pull it off though.

Sam Im attatched to this thread too. And I will most likey forget to check the fb one wacko.gif

Leigh I know! I saw the new Dec 00 thread and nearly went in there too. That chick sounds like a nightmare. Who would you find to babysit at such short notice! Pffft to her. Wow that was a long sleep for Frankie! Mia had 2.5 hr yesterday and I had to wake her so we could go out.

Ok, might take Mia outside so I can water the vegie garden. I can't wait til our vegies start growing!

P.s I am off to dinner and the movies tonight- YAY but what to see? Has anyone seen new moon? Could you see it without seeing the first one??
Channy
Yay Halle!!!! Definately boot scooting by her Birthday!

I love maxi-dresses Mel. I'm pretty tall, don't know how they are on shorter girls? I'm finding that lots of party dresses are quite short and I'm not 19 anymore (I know shock horror!), so I feel more comfortable in on the knee or maxi. I'm sooo old...

I haven't seen New Moon, but I will (whenever I can). Are you going with Hubby? Not sure if it will be his cuppa.
Blushy
You are right Channy, the Maxi dress would look really nice on taller girls, pretty sure it wouldnt suit me.

Na Im going to dinner and movies with my brother, and he said no way to new moon tongue.gif so now we are going to see the serious man! Sounds interesting.
lily
Hi gals.

Sorry to Katie and Channy that we've forced you over to the 12 month forum early. biggrin.gif tongue.gif

Sam, so cute re Zoe falling asleep sitting up. wub.gif Last Sunday morning when I was skyping Shawn's sis re OS trip and I had Frankie on my lap and she was mega tired that morning for some reason she fell asleep on me. I had a lovely shower with bubba Sam, and I felt a little guilty re water restrictions. sad.gif We have a big double shower so she was sitting at the bottom playing in the water and reading her bath book and playing with her rubber ducky etc etc. Eventually I sat down with her too. It was really nice actually. Plumber was supposed to have been here Tuesday this week to plumb the claw foot in, but didn't turn up. Hubby phoned and left a message yesterday but he hasn't phoned back yet. Might get him to phone him again this arvy.

Channy, hope Aidan is going well today and is feeling much better after some sleep. Your dress sounds lovely! I need to go into Oz Post and pick us all up some passport apps. I can't remember how expensive they are, but thought I'd just do one per fortnight or something. Suppose we'll have to do VISA's as well. SIL and her hubby have two cars, so we're hoping to use one of those rather than hiring a car. When we organise our travel insurance, we just have to make sure it covers us to drive. Apparently in US they insure the person in terms of crashes, not the vehicle. I am rather nervous about the flight. A few 'frequent flyers' have said you just need to get an antihistemine or something and you give that to them to help them sleep.

Wow Katie, Halle sounds like she will be walking by her birthday! How exciting. This week has been the beginning of furniture cruising for us, as well as more frequent few second stands without hanging onto things. My across the road neighbour has an 18 month old and last evening at daycare breakup (her 3 year old goes to same as Frankie) I was looking at her 18 month old running about etc, thinking 'hmmm, this is what Frankie will be like on our 16 hour flight to LA'. blink.gif laugh.gif

Mel, Frankie been down 1.5hrs so far this morning, will see how long she goes today. She was up early this morning though, so might be quite long, although she did doze off for 5-10 mins in the car on the way home from grocery shopping this morning. Yay to dinner and movie tonight! I haven't seen New Moon, so I'm no help on that front. I'm off to work tonight, joy of all joys. So I spose I'd better head off have some lunch and get myself sorted.

Chat soon
Channy
I've had a nice day. Mum just left, we just hung out, she looked after A for a bit while I did the groceries. He's onto his 3rd sleep of the day - he's got a slight temp and snotty, so very tired. Yay, for another virus...it's weekly now! He's not too bad, been heaps sicker than this.

Going to meet my BF at Chermside tomorrow at 8am for breakie and to get a park early and then hit shops when they open. I need a dress for A's party and Xmas and then hair cut/colour at 11am. Karl is taking A into the city to do some Xmas shopping. Then my work Xmas party tomorrow night!

Mel - Yes, couldn't see many guys wanting to see New Moon. Karl would probably rather cut of his arm..ha ha Do you have any Xmas parties to go to? Any excuse for a new dress I say

Leigh - I think something to help Frankie to sleep on the plane would be a good investment!! Just to have with you..just in case!!
sam-lou
channy heres the recipe:

devils food cakes with chocolate frosting

50g soft tub margarine
115g soft dark brown sugar
2 large eggs
115g plain flour
1/2 tsp bicarb soda
25g cocoa powder
125ml sour cream

Frosting
125g plain chocolate
2 tbs caster sugar
150ml sour cream

preheat oven 180 degrees C. Put 18 paper baking cases in a bun tray or put 18 double layet paper cases on a baking tray

put margarine, eggs, sugar, flour, bicarb and cocoa powder in a large bowl and using beaters beat together until just smooth. using a metal spoon fold in the sour cream. spoon into cases.

bake 20 mins then transfer to rack to cool.

frosting: melt chocolate - in microwave or over a water bath, allow to cool slightly then whisk in the sugar and soured cream until combined. spread on cakes and leave to set in fridge before serving. yummmmmmm.

channy tomorrow sound good fun. hair, shopping and breakie ou - bliss!.

i have been busy today. having a bbq tomorrow for eight adults and 8 kids so have been cleaning and have made potato salad and flourless chocolate cake. in the morning i have to shop for green salad ingredients and also for a vietnamese chicken salad i am doing too. then just bread rolls and meat meat meat from the bbq.

leigh your trip is going to be so great. i did a syd-qld flight when isabelle was 18 months old and it was hell but mainly because the flight was delayed by three hours and i was on my own. she was extremely active and i just ran stupid all over the terminal trying to stop her eating food off the ground mainly! thankfully she just crashed out and slept for the whole flight. phenergan is the drug they give for flights usually. it makes them drowsy+++ you can get it from your gp but some dont give it out because some parents use it too much iykwim... do you have to nurse frankie on your lap or does she get her own seat?? domestic flights they are free but they have to sit on your lap.

must go. have a load off washing to hang out then a daggy wedding show to watch at 8.30.

zoe is great. she gives me "kisses"- she responds to the word and leans in to your mouth with hers. its lovely. she is also looking at things and then at me and making the same ah ah noise like she is trying to talk and communicate.

channy forgot to say..love the sound of your dress.
Blushy
Hi girls

Didnt end up going to see a movie last night. We went out for dinner, which was sooo nice, shared a bottle of wine, then went back to my brothers house and watched "two hands" the movie with Heath Ledger. It's a classic. Had a fantastic night. Mia woke a couple of times last night though, I wasnt sure what to do so I just held and rocked her till she was calm. She carried on for a bit longer but I left her, its soooo much easier without the monitor on!! I dont really fuss, just let her whinge a bit. I should have switched it off months ago!

Channy ohhhhh your day today sounds awesome! I'm jealous! Hope you have a great day. Sorry to hear about Aidan not feeling the best, poor little mite. sad.gif I do have a few christmas parties which I could wear something like that to, so will see if I find one that looks ok.

Leigh sounds like Frankie and Mia are doing the same thing re crusing. Mia just walks along all the furniture, will stand alone for ages, and loves holding one thing then crossing over onto something else. She will dive for it! So funny. Yuck to working sad.gif How long did Frankie end up sleeping for yesterday? Mia had 2.5 hours which was great. I was speaking to someone the other day who said I shouldnt let her sleep that long! WTF? I aint waking her, she's always up by 2ish anyway so doesnt affect night time.

Sam YUM, I want to try that recipe now. Have a great BBQ. I love potato salad. I have to make a salad for our christmas party this year. I'm thinking a green salad ph34r.gif

Ive been told I was given phenergan alot as a child, I actually REMEMBER having it before bed alot! It was this orange stuff. In some kids though, it has the opposite effect, so Leigh, if you were going to use it, test it first! I was told by my Dad to use it for Mia's sleep when she was a shocking sleeper, but I said no. Didnt think it was necessary for that, but for a long haul flight I might. ph34r.gif

Ok, off to take Mia for a walk, have a great day everyone!
Bella Angel
Morning all,

Well you've made me come over here biggrin.gif

Not much planned today, trying to think of what I can do for at least half of the day. Really don't want to spend all day at home. Tomorrow I'm heading to my sisters for the day as hubby has a christmas function. Hopefully he arrives home in decent shape. wacko.gif

Halle is going great guns with the walking. Out of no where she'll stand from sitting and start taking a few steps. We reckon the walker has really given her the confidence to walk quicker. It's going to be wierd seeing two little ones walking around here soon.

Mel - I've seen New Moon and loved it but hey I've read the books and seen Twilight. I don't think I would've enjoyed it not having read the books though. What movie did you end up seeing? A maxi dress would look great on you. You just need to find the right style. You don't have to be tall to wear them girl! smile.gif

Sam - OMG Did you have to put up a recipe that's going to make me fatter???? tongue.gif Yummo!! Sounds like you have a busy day today, sounds great though. Have fun! How cute Zoe falling asleep sitting up in the cot wub.gif She must've been comfy!

Leigh - If Frankie is furniture cruising I don't think it will be long before she's walking. Give it a month or so. I say enjoy the limited amount of movement while you can. Sometimes I wish Cohen was still just sitting laugh.gif I'd definitely be finding out what you could take to make the plane ride more comfortable for you all. I wont remind you of our plane ride from the gold coast to adelaide early this year with Cohen. wacko.gif

Sorry have to go, hubby needs his computer and I need to feed Halle her breakie. I'll try and drop in here later tonight and see if I missed anything.

Oh yeah and re the fb page maybe we only use it for putting up details we don't want people to see? I'm not a huge fb fan so don't go on there much but I'll try and make an effort to check that page.

Back later xx

Channy - How's Aiden feeling? I'm sure he feels much better having been able to sleep properly. Sounds like you had a nice day with your mum and Aiden. Have fun shopping today. I'm also thinking that's what I might do. Need to find something to wear for Halle's birthday too. tongue.gif Have fun at your work party tonight. Is your mum looking after Aiden?
sam-lou
grrrrrrr up at 5.30am after an unsettled night for both girls. isabelle was up wanting milk and in and out of our bed and zoe was hungry at 3.30am. am tired now. got to go back to sleep from 8am til 9 but still feel blah. now i ahve to go to the shops then make food.

zoe getting a lot of confidence with the cruising too. its amazing how fast it happens when they start moving. isabelle will be standing in the middle of the room and zoe will pull herself up on her and isabelle will be like - zoe get off me!!" zoe was making lots of "talking" sounds yesterday mornning and i heard isabelle saying to her "oh really!" which she has obviously herad me doing to zoe. very cute.

mel your dinner sounds really nice. new pics on fb are great. mia is really starting to lose her baby looks and look like a toddler.

we did phenergan on isabelle when she was a shocking sleeper. plan from gp was for a week of phenergan induced sleep that will hopefully then help her be able to do it herself. it helped her to sleep but it didnt solve the problem.

ok better go do some stuff....
lily
Channy, glad to hear you had a good day with your mum. How's Aidan going today? Hope he's getting better from his cold. How was brekkie and shopping today? Did you manage to find a dress? Hope you have fun at your work christmas party tonight! I've been thinking I wouldn't mind a new outfit for christmas day. I really like Witchery stuff, and was thinking perhaps a visit to Harbour Town might be in order. I just don't know when I'd get the time! I think I'll definitely be looking at something to give Frankie for the long flight. It's a pretty standard thing people do on long international flights I think.

Sam, sorry to hear you had a crappy night. I hope you're not too tired and that the bbq goes well tonight. Frankie wasn't free, but it's like 10% of the full price flight. She doesn't get a seat, but apparently you can get these seats that have a cradle thingy in front of them. I'm yet to phone the airline to discuss this. The latest things here are lots of pointing at things, sometimes what she might want, like milk in her sippy cup or water. She's also started putting things to her ear like a phone.

Mel, sounds like you had a lovely night out last night, despite not seeing a movie. I remembered today that I want to see 'where the wild things are' and so does hubby. Frankie got the book for her birthday. Glad to hear not having the monitor on is going well. Frankie ended up sleeping for 4 hours yesterday! ohmy.gif I think she really likes to catch up on sleep at home when she's not at daycare. Today is was 2 hrs and 45mins. She's only having 1 sleep a day now, at home at least. At daycare, she usually only has about 1.5 hrs in two 45 min naps. I wouldn't be waking Mia. If she still settles at night just fine then it's all good. Frankie still settles at night just fine as well. Yep, phenergen is what it's called. I guess when I take Frankie for her 12 month vacc I'll ask about it. I must try and get her vacc this week. I had her booked in for Friday at 10 and I completely forgot the appointment! ph34r.gif

Katie, how'd it end up going today? What did you get up to? Wow, sounds like Halle is going well!

Working wasn't too bad today. Kicked off at 9, did 4.5 hours on the display and it was pretty busy so that was good. Came home for a couple of hours, then went back to work for another 1.5 hours to pack up display. The rest of the time I'll just take as time in lieu. Tomorrow have got to myself and hubby isn't working either so that'll be nice. It's a bit cooler as well so hopefully that might stick around for a few days as well. Had a lovely dinner of home made pizza and now tucking into a nice glass of red. Going to try to have an early night as I'm getting up for a run at 6. wacko.gif

Goodnight gals.
Bella Angel
Morning lovelies,

Well 6.10am start today! Not on, on a Sunday sad.gif Heading to my sisters today. Cohen's been asking to see Marlea all week. So this should give him his dose of her laugh.gif Didn't find much yesterday. I avoided the big shops and just went to Sportsgirl but only got a couple of singlets. There isn't much around at the moment sad.gif Well there is if you are super skinny and aren't trying to hide and lumps and bumps tongue.gif

Watched Adventureland last night = crap! I can't even tell you what it's about cos it wasn't about anything really? I asked Scott once it was finished "Did that even have a story line? Was there a point?" laugh.gif

Mel - How are you today chick? How's little Mia?

Sam - I love when Cohen speaks to Halle. It's sooooo cute isn't it wub.gif He's always asking her if she's upset if she's ok or if she's scared. He even gives her things when she's crying to shut up laugh.gif Wow sounds like Zoe is getting lots of confidence. I can't believe they are all going to be walking soon! How did the bbq go last night?

Leigh - I love witchery too. A bit $$$ but so nice. I'm not sure if our harbour town has a witchery. I haven't been down there for ages, might have to go in the new year. Dinner sounds yummy last night and the glass of wine would've been a good way to end your busy working day. I just read you were getting up for a run at 6am this morning wacko.gif I'm wingeing cos I had to get up at 6am and sit on the couch and your running laugh.gif spot the lazy one!

Ok gotta go. Miss Halle has just pulled my purse out of my bag and pulled everything out of it tongue.gif
Channy
Morning All!

I am having a brilliant weekend - Hubby looked after Aidan yesterday and I had the perfect girly day. Bought 4 casual maxi dress too! I'm loving them for Summer. So now I have a dress for Aidan's party, Xmas, etc etc. I am in desperate need for new clothes.

Party last night was great - but guess what, I didn't get a photo of me. I was going to get Mum to take some photos before we left, but we were running late and just sort of ran out the door. And when we go there, it was so hot as we were outdoors and I just started drinking champers and forgot about pics sad.gif Definately taking pics at Aidan's party - with me on them too. It always seems to be Aidan and Karl. I generally do avoid them tongue.gif

Making the cake for MG birthday party today. It's from 3pm at one of the girl's houses. It is hot hot hot, so she is setting up a paddling pool for the babies.

1 week til my little baby is 1!!!! I am getting pretty misty eyed about it. It's been the hardest year, but just so damm good too.

Katie - Halle will be running in no time! She must be practicing her new skill all the time now! How cute that Cohen loves seeing Marlea - great that he has a little friend to play with (and maybe get in trouble with??). Are you all set for the party?

Sam - Was last night a bit better with the girls? Hope they let you have a little snooze in cause it's Sunday. I think Isabelle and Zoe will be good little friends and partners in crime.

Leigh - I love Witchery too! I haven't bought anything there in awhile, but love their stuff. Is there one in Toowoomba? I know there is Myer, what other stores are there at Grand Central, I can't remember. I have been there a few times now with my MIL. I haven't been to Harbour Town for along time, have been meaning to though. Love the 4 hour sleep!! Aidan catches up too when he's not at daycare, he gets pretty exhausted from it.

Mel - your Friday night sounded like fun. Two Hands is a great movie. Nice just to relax and have fun, even if it is in and not going out. We watched Groundhog Day on Foxtel, love that movie. Are you ready for Xmas? Do you have to work at all over the Xmas period?

AUGH - it's hot, time to crank on aircon

Hey gals.

Katie, how was the catch up with your sister today? So cute that Cohen loves his cousin so much. wub.gif That is the one thing I'm soooo excited about for our OS trip, for Frankie to get to spend another month with her cousins will be great. Plus they'll have so much fun with her now too. She was really only sitting when they were here 6 months ago. Run was ok this morn. Did a pretty flat 10k, so it wasn't too bad.

Channy, great to hear you are having a good weekend, and yay to the successful shopping trip! I'm hearing ya re needing new clothes. I would love some. I still need to lose 5kg's to get to my pre-preg weight, so not a lot of my old clothes fit anymore. sad.gif However I keep surviving on a few items in the hope that I will lose the weight and fit into my old clothes again. How was the MG party today? Nup, no Witchery in Toowoomba. Sleep today was 2.5 hours, which was more the standard, so she must feel like she's caught up. She's been sooooo grumpy today though, and pratically whinged the entire time she's been up. She's causing me no end of trouble food wise too at the moment, and seems to be existing on her weet-bix, raisin toast, yoghurt, cheese and milk arrowroots! Oh, and cow milk. I just can't seem to get her to eat anything else!

Sam, good to hear the bbq was a success.

Haven't been up to all that much today. Went to the markets this morning after run, just got some vegies & fruit. Came home, Frankie went down for morning sleep and I ducked out and finished the grocery shopping. Then we just hung around the house for the arvy with whingey butt.

Back into the working week tomorrow. I've only got 4 days this week though, so that'll be nice. My boss is on hols this week, and I'm acting in his position, so hopefully that'll go well.

Bye for now
Blushy
hi girls

Had a great afternoon at my brother's house. My best friend was there too, and brought a feast with her! Dips, bread, sundried tomatoes, olives, avocado, etc. Mia LOVED it and pigged out! The pics are on FB, too funny. I bought a porta cot this afternoon aswell, I left Mia with my BF and took my brother with me. It was so funny. The sales assistant said "what can I help you with?" and my brother, who is single, and has NO IDEA about babies said "Yes, we are looking for a porty cotty." laugh.gif OMG hilarious. He would kill me if he knew I had told anyone tongue.gif He always says funny things about Mia, coz he has no idea. Quote for today is "are all babies this messy?" and "when do babies learn table manners?" yes, he was dead serious!

Katie- BUMMER about the early start. How was it at your sisters? Sounds like Cohen loves his cuz, soo cute! I hear ya re the shops. Not much around ATM, I agree.

Sam- did you manage to catch any sleep? I hope Zoe sleeps ok for you tonight, and you get some rest. Glad the bbq was fun!

Leigh- well done on the run, 10k is awesome. Hope you filling in for your boss goes well. Yeah, we have similar probs with Mia and food. She has been refusing all the stuff she is meant to be having, and prefering other things. Like today, pigged out on bread and dips, etc, then wouldnt eat dinner. I suppose she could eat worse laugh.gif It just seems like now she doesnt want to eat vegies etc, spoon fed like I used to. She wants to eat finger foods and even then, turfs most of it over the side of the highchair!
I hope Frankie is feeling better tomorrow, I know what you mean about the whinging. We have it alot here.

Channy glad you had a great time at the party. Damn, no pics! Definitely get some for Aidans party, not long to go now! Sounds like you have a few nice dresses to wear. How did the cake turn out and how did Aidan like the pool?
Kinda organised for christmas. Got most of my presents, only 2 to go. Having lunch here, so need to get ready for that, and out for dinner with hubbys massive fam. Ill have to put Mia in the portacot there.

Oh, this Fri night Im taking Mia to my BFs apartment and staying the night. She is having a party. I hope Mia sleeps ok, but even if she doesnt, my friend will take her out in the morning probably, so I can sleep wub.gif she is a gem!
Channy
Have had a great weekend all round! Today was good, the babies all had fun (well mostly!) No swimming, we all just played on the deck. Aidan slept 2.5hrs in the morning and managed to get through til bedtime. He would of had a sleep if he was at home, but had alot of fun - so stayed happy. Cake was okay, not my best work, but tasted pretty good.

I have started the lolly bags for A's birthday. I want to put tiny teddies in them, so will have to put them in last minute so they don't do stale.

Leigh - has Frankie turned fussy since being really sick. Sounds like she is still getting some variety, so worry too much and just keep trying her!

Mel - your Xmas day sounds pretty big!! Good on your brother, he sounds so....not into babies!! ha ha
Bella Angel
Morning,

Had a great day yesterday at my sisters. Cohen and Marlea had lots of fun. Marlea was hilarious telling Halle off for touching the christmas decorations laugh.gif She was like "no Halle, don't touch that's naughty" "Stop Halle, stop being naughty" laugh.gif It was so cute wub.gif Try explaining to a 3yr old that a baby doesn't really understand tongue.gif We went for a walk over to the shops and the shopping centre near her has a Seed so as usual I walk in there and see clothes I want for the kids ph34r.gif God I hate that store! laugh.gif I ended up getting an outfit for both. I figured if I wanted a new outfit for xmas, halle's bday then so should they laugh.gif I need to stop going in there!

Need to get organised for Halle's party this weekend. I have the decorations and the party bags and stuff just need to get all the food. The party isn't starting til 2 and it's only going to 5pm so we aren't doing any hot food, just finger foods etc. I also need to get a love heart cookie cutter so I can cut the fairy bread out in loveheart shapes smile.gif

Channy - Have you thought about buying the tiny teddies that come in seperate bags? That way you don't have to worry about freshness. That's what I always do. Sounds like you had a great weekend. Bummer about the cake. I'm sure Aiden's "real" cake will be awesome though. What are you making again? 4 maxi dresses! Wow I'm jealous. Do describe? Where did you get them from? Bummer on not getting any photos of your night out. Make sure you get some at Aiden's party. We are exactly the same and forget to take photos too. Sometimes we'll start so have one or two but that's it. We didn't even take any photos of us before we went to that wedding not long ago. The first time I dress up in years and I forget to take a photo. Thank god we have another wedding to go to early next year.

Leigh - I hope you week at work goes smoothly and quickly for you. I can't remember if I asked you this or not but do you get time off over christmas? I so wish I could run for 10kms - I wish I like running laugh.gif Don't worry too much about her fussy eating. I know it's hard but I keep getting told they will eat when they want. Hopefully she's getting over her fussiness now and will be an angel and eat everything when she's older. Cohen was great when he was younger now it feels like he only eats nuggets, fish fingers, cucumber, cheese for tea. Breakfast and lunch isn't too bad but tea OMG it's hard. Don't even say vegetables to him!

Mel - Your brother sounds hilarious! So clueless but I bet he's great with Mia. Are you on holidays over christmas? Friday night at your bf's sounds great. Have you known her since you were young? I don't have a friend like that, it must be nice. I was the girl that rather hang out with the guys back when I was younger so didn't really form a close friendship with a girl. Sob, sob, cry, cry, winge, winge laugh.gif How's Mia's sleeping?

Sam - How are the girls? Sleeping better? Did you get your nap in? Bbq sounds great and the kids sound like they had fun. Ebay hey! I can never find anything on there but my sister does all the time. Maybe I need more patience?? tongue.gif tongue.gif

Breakfast time x
Blushy
Had a pretty good night last night! Mia went to bed at 7pm, quick feed ph34r.gif at 4am then slept til 7am. Just waiting for the ILs to arrive, then I'm off to work. I do have soome holidays over christmas, have the main days off, an do a short day on 4th Jan, then back at work on 18th Jan. So not bad.

Channy sounds like a great day yesterday, the lolly bags sound soooo cute! Make sure you take pics of all those details biggrin.gif

Katie sounds like the kids had a great time playing together. Naughty going into seed! I adore seed clothes, I would have done the same ph34r.gif Is Halle walking everywhere now? You'll have to take some pics of her walking, I bet it's cute. Mia is nearly there, walking around with the walker, etc.
Lol yeah my brother adores Mia. He just doesnt know anything about babies at all. It's pretty funny. My BF and I have been friends since she was born! I have a photo of me holding her as a newborn, I was 2 years old wub.gif Our Mum's are best friends. So it's great when we all get together. She lived in W.A for our teenage years, which looking back was probably a good thing ph34r.gif but now she is back in Melb, working.

Naww I bet you had lots of friends Katie, who wouldnt like you!

Ok, missy moo here needs my attention, she's so cute wub.gif Hope there are no incients with the ILs today!

hi chickies
struggling to find time lately to catch up properly here.

Zoe still has a runny nose and has been pretty unhappy most of the day. woke at 5.30a, this morning as did her sister so it has been a long day. did manage to sleep for an hour when they did though. She did a funnty thing today. I caught her reading a book and managed to get a sneaky video of her turning the pages. when i went to put the camera away i heard ripping noises and raced back to find her ripping out pages -she managed 2 and a half pages.

I love seed clothes too. None anywhere me though so i am not tempted. katie you could look for seed stuff i ebay. i ususlly get good stuff by coming across a good seller and looking at the other stuff they are selling. i sometimes find someone with great stuff but its hit and miss. i usually get time to do it when chris is on evening shifts and i am just looking around for stuff. very limited with shopping out here so it suits me a lot to buy stuff that way.

fuuny about marlea telling halle off. isabelle does the exact same thing to zoe.

saw an ad for amcal chemists and the have halle perfume. did you end up getting any ages ago?

channy your weekend sounds great. cant wait to see piccies of the party stuff. and yours too katie. how exciting. party !!!!

porty cotty is just too funny. you are going to be able to hassle him about that for years. especially when he eventually has his own kids (if he does that is).

just realised today that i am leaving for sydney friday morning for 5 days and need to get organised with the present wrapping and packing. our christmas lunch is on saturday. will be so great to spend the day with all the little cuzzies. also going to a wiggles concert on sunday which isabelle is excited about. chris staying here as he has to work but we will be back for proper christmas day with daddy.

got a surprise visit today from his brother. he has 3 new lumps and has had his meds increased which is a bit of a blow. things really just getting back to normal again around here after last visit so hoping chris can handle this news ok. meant to say thanks leigh for your lovely words about letting me vent in here. all of you have been great. i really appreciate the support of you girls and its actually easrier to share in here than irl sometimes. its that thing where people dont really want to hear that its pretty bad news and they really dont know what to say.. or maybe i dont want to have to talk about it with people. anyway, i think you girls are great and sometimes i think its weird that out of checking this website for wedding stuff a few years ago I now have friends i chat with every day! smile.gif
Bella Angel
Hello lovelies,

Very unproductive afternoon I'm having so I'm hoping after I've posted here I might get my bum into gear laugh.gif Got my hair coloured and cut this morning so now I'm already for Halle's party and christmas. It's so great having my neighbour do it for me. It was always such a headache going to the hairdressers and in truth I've never really enjoyed going. This is just so much easier and I'm liking my colour so much more now smile.gif

Got some baby pink tulle yesterday. I'm going to cut it into strips and tie it in bows around the pergola poles in our backyard. I did it for my baby shower with Cohen (obviously in blue though) and it looked so cute. I also found these cute little flower thingys that you stick into the ground and they spin around in the wind (does that make sense). They were only $4 each from Cheap as chips. I'll take photos so you can see what I mean though. It's so much fun organising a girls party. Don't get me wrong I've had fun organising Cohen's parties as well but with girls it's just a bit different. Hard to explain I suppose.

Sam - It's good that you feel comfortable enough to vent to us about everything especially if you don't always feel comfortable telling people that you see all the time. I love this group, its great how close we have all gotten even though we are just talking over the net. Sorry to hear the girls are sick. In a way I suppose it's good that its this week and not next. Hopefully they will both be fully recovered by Friday when you go away. Saturday sounds like it's going to be lots of fun for the girls and yourselves. How many cousins do they have? No I haven't got the Halle perfume yet I keep forgetting. I really should though. Nicole Richie is actually bringing out a clothing range called Winter Kate so I have to get a piece of that as well, seeing as that's her middle name. biggrin.gif Does this mean Halle's destined to be a superstar?? laugh.gif laugh.gif

Channy - How's everything with you? How's Aiden and childcare this week?

Mel - Sounds like you had a good sleep Sunday night! Did she do it again last night for you? Halle's not walking everywhere yet but she's attempting to. She obviously finds crawling so much easier at this stage so that's still the preferred option. That's a really sweet story about you and your best friend. It's lovely that you've known each other that long. How did the inlaws go yesterday?

Leigh - How's the week of work going so far? And Miss Frankie is she okay?

Have we all talked about what we are doing over christmas?

I've obviously said a few months ago we are staying in an apartment close to the beach for 4 days but we are having lunch with Scott's parents christmas day, then that night my sister and niece are coming to the apartment to stay the night. Boxing day my parents are coming mid morning so we can do more presents with the kids and then have a yummy boxing day lunch. I can't wait. Scott has to work christmas eve so we want be doing much. I'm hoping to get the kids in bed early so they are nice and energised for the following day. I'm also going to start doing the whole milk and cookies for santa this year. Mind you Cohen will probably want to eat and drink it laugh.gif tongue.gif

Ok should stop typing now and start cleaning. ph34r.gif
Bella Angel
I keep forgetting to say, the past 3 days I've kept Halle awake a bit longer (and she's been happy to do so) before her nap during the day and she's been sleeping between 1.5-2hrs ohmy.gif Okay so she's only having the one nap during the day but it's an improvement on her 40min cat naps. I hope it lasts it did with Cohen so hopefully she's the same smile.gif
sam-lou
katie - maybe a superstar...definately a diva!!

have just baked a gingerbread white chocolate slice that i added cherries to for our playgroup christmsas party tomorrow. mixture was yummy so i hope it tastes good. better go check actually..back later..
lily
Mel, great to hear you had such a good catch up with your BF and bro. Hilarious re porty cotty comment. Working week is going ok so far, nothing too awful has come up. Only two days left to go. Not that I want you to be going through the same 'food issues' but is good to hear I'm not the only one. biggrin.gif Those two teeth have finally broken the gum, so hopefully that might help the whingeing. She's not sleeping a real lot at daycare either which isn't helping. They get about an hour out of her in the morning, and then this arvy, was only 2 x 20 min catnaps. So she's mega tired by bedtime. Fri night sounds great! I go back to work on the 18th too! How'd it go with the IL's yesterday?

Channy, great to hear you had such a good weekend. biggrin.gif Yeah I guess ever since her bad bout of gastro she hasn't eaten the same. Tonight she had about half a piece of vegemite & cheese on toast, a little bit of yoghurt, and nearly all a milk arrowroot biscuit. They said she ate well at daycare today, so that's good, and they're managing to get her to eat some veges at lunch, so I guess that's the main thing.

Katie, sounds like you had a great day with your sister and Cohen enjoyed catching up with his cousin. I like your justification for the Seed purchase. laugh.gif Yay to little Halle's party this weekend! I do get time off. I'm actually working only 3 days next week, as the new roster starts this Sat, and I'm basically on leave for a lot of next roster, so I have to take my pdo basically in the next two weeks. So I'll have thur, fri, sat & sun off next week, then I'll be going to work mon & tues, and I start my leave on the Wed and we go up the coast. Thanks for the reassurance re the eating thing. Hope the sleeping with Halle continues for you. Frankie going ok. Didn't seem as whingey today which was good.

Sam, yay to your trip to Sydney, how's the packing going? *hugs* re the not great news on Chris' brother. Gosh, you are always making delicious yummy things!

Re Christmas, we haven't got much planned for the day actually. We have Christmas dinner happening at our place, I guess from about 5pm. So I spose from lunch time we'll be cooking/getting ready. Got a 4.5kg turkey to cook, so that'll take a while. Then that evening we have my dad and his partner, my aunt & uncle, hubby's bro, hubby's sister & hubby and their 3 kids, all coming over.

I have kept forgetting to say in here that I've completely weaned Frankie from bf'ing. It happened about a week ago now. It's been going fine so that's good, and I wasn't as terribly sad as I thought I would be...just a little bit sad.

We had two exciting things happen today. Finally the bathtub is plumbed in! Yay! And also the tank water is all hooked up to the house. Another yay! Still trying to get onto the sparky re the fans etc.

Anyhow, best be off.
sam-lou
hi girls

katie you are so lucky having a neighbour to do your hair. now that i have lightened mine i am going to have to go more often but that is a good thing for me. do you get diff colours in or just blonde?

i really need a straightener...just wish they werent so expensive.

great day today at playgroup party. zoe was right amongst it standing up at the kids table with a handful of chips. was lovely to see. not the chips bit rolleyes.gif but the joining in bit biggrin.gif

leigh i wouldnt worry too much about the diet either, what she is eating doesnt sound too bad to me. isabelle is usually a great eater but for the past few weeks she just wants bikkies and its hard to get her to eat good stuff. they can change their eating habits back and forth as they grow.

zoe did a massive sleep of 3 hours today which is a first. went down fine at 6.30 too. would love her to do that every day.

day care for big buttons tomorrow so packing bags and a bit of shopping for me. oh and i just remembered some waxing too.

leigh glad to hear you were ok about the end of bf. you did so well to feed for for a year and go back to work. time to buy some foxy bras methinks!!and great news about your beautiful bath being in. have you used it yet??

katie love the sound of the tulle decos. do you mean like those little windmill blowy things??

well chris just got acall out so i am going to make a cup of tea and read the paper.

hope you are all having a good day.

Hi Girls!

Work is over for the week - thank God!! I have been so busy, so very pleased to leave today. We have our lunch on Friday, so said that I might bring Aidan in and join in.

He woke at 5:30am with vomit all on his sheet and did a watery poo this afternoon at daycare. Could barely get him to eat dinner and he was soooo tired. Even nodding off as I was drying him off from his bath - I am sooooo hoping he is not getting sick again! He is off daycare for 2 weeks over Xmas/New year, so I think he needs the break - let him get some strength back to fight these bugs!!

Party stuff if going well, just have to do the grocery shop and prepare food on Saturday. We have 20 adults and 5 under 3's.

Is everyone's Bubbas saying words? Aidan is now saying Mumma, Dadda, Bubba, At, That and up. He seems to love to chat smile.gif

Katie - can you believe how soon our parties are? The tulle sounds so pretty! You have given me an idea for when I host my BF's baby shower!! Thank you very much. Are you baking on Saturday?

Sam - Go the 3hr sleep, it's such a nice break when they do that. GHDs are great straighteners, but $$. Mine are about 5 years old and might need to replace them soon. Enjoy your cuppa smile.gif

Leigh - Glad you are okay about ending BF - you did sooo well. Now as Sam said, pretty bra shopping!!! Frankie might just be adjusting her food intake now, maybe not growing as fast? I've heard it can slow alot.

Mel - How's miss Mia?

Wouldn't be lovely if we could just get together for playdates with all the Bubbas - shame it's just not possible sad.gif
Channy
Aidan is sick sad.gif just woke crying covered in vomit. Soooo tired though, we cleaned him and cot up (and Bebe copped it too) and he was straight back to sleep. I think we are in for a long night
Blushy
Hi girls

I keep heading into the other group automatically!! dry.gif Mia is being a really PITA lately, squealing, crying and whinging all day, chucking tantrums. Argghh! It's doing my head in. I usually just walk away if she throws a tantrum, and as for the squealing, I try to distract her or put the tv on unsure.gif Ive also been giving her a bottle before bed, then straight into the cot sleepy.
The new routine is to give her the bottle, do her teeth, book then bed. She HATES cleaning her teeth, but it is non negatiable from now on. I don't want her teeth rotting! Did this routine last night and she screamed in her cot for 5 mins then fell asleep- I went to check on her and could smell a poo! Arrggh. So I woke her, changed her, and put her back in, and the screaming started again, but didnt last long.
Eating wise she loves finger food, but getting her to eat dinner is a struggle. I have discovered that she will not eat unless the TV is on! OMG what have I done. I didnt realise it was on at every dinner time. I was doing it for some peace and to distract her, but now she wants it every time. Im going to have to get her right out of that habit, starting now!

Anyway sorry for that essay! lol.

Channy noooo not sick again! Poor, poor Aidan. How is the little man today? I hope the vomiting has stopped. I'm glad he gets a break from daycare soon, as you said, his body needs it. I think this little boy will have the strongest immune system ever!

Leigh- You really did well with the BF, I wish I could have done it for so long, well done! Yep, go get some new bras! And no, sports bras do not count biggrin.gif It went ok with the ILs this week thankfully, nothing too awful to report! Next week I'm only working for one day, so they won't be required laugh.gif

Sam- woah 3 hours is an awesome sleep! Ohhhh GHD hair straighteners are awesome, I'd ask for one for christmas if I were you! wink.gif Glad you had a great time at PG, the chip table sounds like fun laugh.gif

Katie I love the sound of those decorations! I know exactly what you mean about the windmill things, I bought a load of them as presents for the little ones I look after this year. It would look great in the yard.
Oh yeah with the sleeping, Ive found ever since Ive held Mia out til about 11.30 she will sleep for longer, atleast 2 hours. It's great!

Mia's also been sleeping a bit better at night too, last night she slept through, but was up at 6 wacko.gif

Oh, Ive also been looking at baby signing, anyone heard of it??
sam-lou
mel my sister has been doing baby signing with her 16 month old. she is going to tell me about it on saturday as she just mentioned it the other day.

took zoe to the beautician this morning and it was a disaster. wouldnt stay in the pram and then was trying to climb the drawers and started pulling out the fabric strips. she wouldnt sit in my lap either. lucky the girl was great and very quick.

i hang zoe out til 1130.12 now too and she sleeps ususlly for 1.5 to 2 hours. dont think i'll get 3 hours today as she slept in the pram this morning at 10 while i was shopping.

poor little aidan. he really has had a rough trot. hope he gets better very fast. could he be allergic to any foods? zoe always does a massive vom after avocado? *hugs* to you channy. you must be so over your little boy being sick.

not many words here - mama and dada really is all.

gotta go put miss to bed. she has been happily playing with my beads and climbing the suitcase that is waiting to be packed.

Blushy
Hubby's best friends wife just gave birth to a little girl this morning, she only weighed 1.3kg sad.gif Praying she pulls through. I'm not sure how many weeks she was but she definitely wasnt ready to have the baby sad.gif

Sam I would never attempt to take Mia to the beatuician, lol not risking that one!
Channy
Aidan hasn't had a vomit since 10pm (yay!) Woke at 5:30am with a loose pooey nappy and wees that leaked and he was all wet. Cleaned up again and bottle and back to bed til 7:15am. Little bit of breaky and back to bed at 8am-11am. Managed to get some fruit into him and back to bed. Hoping he sleeps it off and is well for his big day on Sunday!

Mel - Hoping that your friends baby pulls through too - so tiny. Must have been pretty early. Is she in NICU? When can you visit? I have heard of baby signing, meant to be pretty good!! I don't think I'll try it though, I'm probably not patient enough tongue.gif Aidan is getting pretty good at indicating what he wants. Sometimes he even crawls up and puts his head on my lap when he's tired and wants bed smile.gif

Sam - You are brave taking Zoe to the beauticians. Aidan would play up and get into everything, plus he won't sleep in pram...Definately a bug with Aidan, we haven't introduced any new foods and he just looks sick. He was so tired last night, dropping off after bath and while we were cleaning him up after his vomit.

Just writing my HUGE shopping list for birthday party and Xmas food + normal shop for the week. My sis is staying for a few days and then inlaws staying, so this is going to be a fortune. Might be better off buying a Coles!! ha ha
lily
Sam, glad to hear playgroup party was good fun and Zoe got right into it...minus the chips of course. smile.gif Have just pulled out all the old bras so far...not sure the budget can stretch to new 'foxy' ones just yet. Haven't tried the bath out myself yet, but have put Frankie in it for a bath the night we got it.

Thanks gals for all your reassurance re the eating thing. I think I just need to chill out about it and stop worrying. I'm taking her for a weigh in Wednesday, so will be keen to see what she's up to.

We get mumma and dada as well, and also bye bye and hello. Mumma and Dad are definitely clear, and anyone else probably doesn't know that it's hello and bye, but we do.

Channy, yay to the working week being over! I was glad at 4 o'clock this arvy too! 3 days off now, then 3 days next week and 4 days off, then only 2 more days of work the 2.5 weeks off! Yay! Are you still going in for your work lunch thingy tomorrow? How's the plans and organising coming along for Aidan's party Sat? Sorry to hear that Aidan is sick...really hoping he's a lot better now.

Mel, I have had a bit of a whingey butt baby lately too. Those two teeth I was mentioning have cut the gum though, so I think now she should be a bit better, and she does certainly seem better than she was on the weekend. I've got tomorrow with her so I'll be able to tell then. Oh and Frankie ate a whole fish finger tonight at dinner! laugh.gif Mind you I had cut one side of the crumbing off because I'd managed to burn it. I have heard of baby signing. Hoping your hubby's BF wife's bubba pulls through.

Hubby and I went out for work Christmas party last night...got home at 11 but we're both sooooo tired. We must be getting old. laugh.gif It's was fun though, bowling and a meal. We're having our 'takeaway' night tonight, which is basically spring rolls in the oven, no good for my waist line. I've actually started thinking it might be time to ditch all my pre-preg clothes and buy new ones. This will essentially mean I've gained a dress size, ie was a 10, but now a 12. I spose that's not too bad going.

Cheers for now.
Channy
Quick one from me - still getting things ready for tomorrow!

It is now all dark and stormy looking, so picnic in the park might get cancelled and have to come to our house instead sad.gif Bugger, would have been lovely at the park. We'll make a decision tomorrow morning.

I have made and iced the chocolate cupcakes, baked the 2 cakes for the teddy cake too. We are going to cut and decorate it tonight. House is cleaned (incase of venue change). Hubby is cutting all the onions tonight for the BBQ. Lolly bags are done. I recieved some Thank You cards from mooo.com so I wrote them out and popped one in each bag.

All pressies wrapped - I think we are ready!
Bella Angel
Happy 1st Birthday Aiden!!

Morning all,

Well what a week! Wednesday morning Halle woke at 3am ready to party. After an hour of trying to get her to sleep she finally nodded off. I was just about asleep when Cohen woke and vomited wacko.gif Cleaned him up and he went back to sleep only to wake and vomit a bit more, so we got up and 45mins later he vomited again but even less this time. For the whole of Wednesday he was okay playing with his toys, eating small amounts and drinking. He had a long nap and slept well over night so I thought it was just something he ate. He woke Thursday morning crying but settled once I was cuddling him. He then got up to get a drink and I offered him a cracker, within minutes he brought it all up sad.gif But that was it for the rest of the day. I ended up taking him to the doctors to be sure and she seemed to think it was just a virus. Thankfully he's be all okay since then. Still not eating heaps but alot more like himself. So with Cohen being sick for 2 days and not being able to do anything, Friday and Saturday I've been running around like a chook with it's head cut off laugh.gif

Spent yesterday cooking and preparing for Halle's party today so now all that's left to do is blow up some balloons and do some finishing touches to stuff.

I can't believe Halle is going to be 1 in two days ohmy.gif I can officially join this group! laugh.gif

Channy - How's Aiden today? The poor little thing. Must of been the week for sickness. I hope he has a lovely day and gets spoilt rotten. What time does your party start? Don't forget to take lots of photos. No words really here either, just dadda....

Sam - You were game taking Zoe to the beauticians! I wouldn't dare either laugh.gif GHD's are great but you are right $$ Maybe look on ebay? They are worth it though.

Mel - Wow I hope your friends bub is okay. What a tiny treasure. With all the technologies they have now their future is so much brighter now. Do you know the name? Sounds like you are getting tantrums full on now tongue.gif Halle will actually throw herself on the ground and lay on her tummy with her head down and cry laugh.gif It's hilarious!!

Leigh - So great your bath is in. I bet it looks fantastic. Post a pic! I bet you're counting down the days until you have some time off. Christmas sounds lovely. Lots of cooking for you.

Sorry girls I have to go and feed Halle breakfast and start getting things done. I'll come back later for a proper catch up.

Hope everyone is having lovely weekends xx

Happy Birthday gorgeous Aidan and Sarah!

We visited our friends and their gorgeous baby girl yesterday, she is 30 weeks and was in the NICU. I got to touch her wub.gif The heartbreaking story is she was an identical twin, and her twin died sad.gif I was so sad to hear it.

Channy hope you guys have a wonderful day today!! Sounds like you are all organised! Hope Aidan is feeling much better for his party. Is it raining today?

Argghhh Mia's awake. Ill see if I can type a bit more.

Katie poor little Cohen. It's just awful when they are sick. Last week at work I had 2 kids with tonsilitis and a baby to look after, it WASNT fun! Glad he is feeling better now. Lol Halles tanties sound hilarious! Funny little thing.

Leigh Mia at a whole fish finger yesterday too! She loved it! How funny that one day they dont like it and the next day they do.

Hi Sam!

Last night I took Mia to my friends apartment to sleep, and it was a nightmare. Mia woke as we were going to bed at 12, and didnt go back to sleep til nearly 3am (after 2 bottles!!) and then was up for the day at 5.30. Im soooo tired, but have to get ready to go to a christmas party.

Had a real dilemma on Friday, woke up vomitiing and could barely move with a migraine, thank god my Mum could come and mind Mia!!

Happy birthday Aidan! Hope the party went well Channy and can't wait to see pics! smile.gif

Oh Katie, sorry to hear little Cohen was sick. Hope you hubby and Halle didn't catch it as well. Hope Halle's party is going well!

Mel, great to hear the little one is pulling through, but very sad to hear about her twin not making it. sad.gif Too funny re the fish finger! I can't remember if I told you I tried the broc nuggets, but she's not a real fan so far. Today I baked zucchini cake (I know doesn't sound good does it) the recipe was in Jan's PP. I didn't do the cake but did little muffins instead. She gobbled up two of them at lunch time! Plus hubby cooked himself omlet for brekky and got him to leave some and she ate some of that too. Sorry to hear your night at your friend's apartment didn't go well in the Mia sleeping department.

Sam, hope you're enjoying your chrissy catch up in Sydney!

Well I took Frankie for her 1 year vacc's Friday arvy. She got a bit upset, but had her first jellybean. wub.gif It was a yellow one, and she's looking at it like WTF is that!?! I bit it into pieces and finally got a bit into her mouth, and she got this look on her face, like wow that's amazing! laugh.gif Needless to say she consumed the entire jellybean. She's 74 cm's now, and she's 7.9 kg's. Decided she's close enough to 8kg's and finally was able to turn her seat around today! Hubby has just ducked out to grab a few things from the shops and I went out and put her in, and she was really mesmerized by being a different way. I just had to take a piccie as well. wub.gif

Long weekend is going soooo quickly. Hubby has had the weekend off, which has been lovely, seems like he's always working weekends lately to catch up. Yesterday we got a chance to duck down to a colonial resto shop to choose handles for the sideboard that is our vanity in the bathroom. So now it locks and little miss cannot get into it. Plus hubby finally put up the second showerhead in the shower. Oh...another funny story...went for my run this morning and was having a shower and Frankie was in loungeroom with hubby, or I thought they were and little miss crawls into the bathroom and is pushing on the shower screen and trying to crawl into the shower with me! biggrin.gif I ended up yelling for hubby and I needed to wash my hair shave legs etc, so I just said, strip her off and she can come in with me, and so she did. She has decided that she LOVES the shower.

The other weekend too we decided to bite the bullet and pull all the windows out of the front sunroom (enclosed verandah) and so hubby pulled out the french doors as well, and they had an old style bell on them, which he has been fixing up, painting etc and is now mounted on the front door. Hopefully now we'll hear people wihen they come to the front door!

Plus I did some sanding of one of the linen cupboard doors and painting, and am hoping to finish them off finally over this Christmas break and get them on!

Got friends coming for chrissy drinks at 5, and spose that's the weekend over. 3 or 4 days work this week...not sure as I haven't decided. If I take this Thurs off though, I'll then have to go into work next Tuesday instead, rather than finishing chrissy eve and not going back til the 18th. But if I don't take Thursday off...not sure when on earth I'm going to get the shopping done!!!

Hi Girls!

Thanks for the birthday wishes - Gosh this time one year ago I had been in labour for 20 hours already, in a universe of pain and starting to push - he was born at 10:23pm. This year - I'm on the net, eating pizza and relaxing...ahhhh bliss!!!!

We have had a great day!! As with all our parties, it rained. Has not rained in Brisbane for soooo long. The ground is so dry and grass is dead - so of course it rained this weekend tongue.gif

Held it at home. Turned out well and Aidan did 2 nice sleeps during the day (2hrs and 1.5hrs this arvo). He was great all day - just taking it in. He still has watery poo and let one loose on Grandma - ooooops ohmy.gif

He had so much fun playing with all his new toys this afternoon. He is just so lovely, so lucky to have such an easy going boy wub.gif

Cake turned out great - was Marshmallow frosting, so really yummy. Bit tricky to make, but really good.

Now he's a toddler! Need to start working on #2 next year...

Sam - how are you? How are this with your parents?

Mel - sorry to hear about your crap night with Mia. Just out of sorts being in a strange place. Aidan is like that too during the day at strange places. Love the new pics of Mia on FB, her curls are too cute wub.gif

Katie - How did the party go?? Did Halle party hard? Sorry to hear Cohen has been sick, I'm with you there sad.gif

Leigh - LOL at the jellybean, she must of thought Xmas had come with all that sugar!! Are you excited to be turning her around??

Hi girls

Mia just woke from a 3 hour sleep! She's very happy indeed. Her sleep has been interupted the last few days, last night we went to a christmas party and she woke after 1 hour in the portacot screaming, she was petrified! I don't think she knew where she was sad.gif
She's so close to walking! A few steps here and there, not quite there yet though.

Channy sounds like the party was a sucess even though it rained. The cake sounds delicious. How are his poos today? Hope they arent as yuck. Poor Grandma copping it! laugh.gif

Leigh- sounds like the jellybean worked a treat. I should have thought of something like that after the needles. Those muffins sound really good! I wonder if Mia would eat something like that. I think I might give them a go. OMG how good does this recipe sound!! http://www.masterchef.com.au/savoury-zucchini-muffins.htm

I also tried Mia with broc, and she hated it. Im still going to offer it though. Lol @ the shower thing, I hate when I think hubby is watching Mia and she comes crawling in, worries me! You know I havent tried Mia in the shower with me, only once when she was a baby and she hated it.

How are you Sam and Katie?

I have invited the in laws over tomorrow even though I don't have work, I think Ill go and do a big christmas shop without Mia, will be alot easier!!

Bella Angel
Afternoon lovelies,

Well yesterday was great! She got very spoilt and everything I prepared for the party worked out just how I wanted. It was gorgeous. I'll post some pics soon. The only thing was we had 10 people not come and a few family members leave early (even before the cake) which was a bit disappointing but I suppose you get that. Well our last December bubs will be one tomorrow. Wow time has flown. At this stage last year I was heading to the hospital to put in the first lot of gels. I think I was the only one induced hey?? It's all so exciting but sad at the same time.

I can officially say she's walking now. Still crawling as well but doing lots and lots of walking. Yesterday I think she chose as her show off day as she did it all day. I think she was trying to keep up with the rest of the kids smile.gif

It's going to be 35 here tomorrow so I think we are planning on heading down to the bay for an icecream. Nothing to extreme as both kids are still tired from yesterday and with christmas just around the corner they need a few days of rest.

Channy - I'm so glad Aiden had a lovely day yesterday and is feeling alot better. Bummer on the rain though. I can't believe he had 2 naps. Halle had one before everyone came but wouldn't go down while everyone was here. She was exhausted by the end of it to say the least. What did he get? Can't wait to see pics of him. I can't believe you had a 20hr labour. Was that start to finish or 20hrs of established labour?? It makes my 4.15hr labour like a walk in the park laugh.gif

Mel - That recipe sounds great. I think I might have to try it. Haven't you finished your christmas shopping yet? I actually have to go down to our westfield cos I need foundation but I noticed they are open until 9pm tonight and tomorrow and then midnight on Wednesday so I might go down late without the kids. Not looking forward to it regardless. I wish Halle would sleep for 3hrs.....mmmmmmm think of all the things I could do......... laugh.gif So sorry to hear about your friend sad.gif how devastating. This little girl sounds like a strong one. What's her name? Glad you are feeling better after that terrible migrane. Thank goodness for mums wub.gif

Sam - How are you and the girls going? Enjoying your time away?

Leigh - Sounds like you've been very busy around the house. You guys must be exhausted what with work, renos and christmas. You both need a break. Could you work a half day on Thursday and still not come back til the 18th? Fake a sicky laugh.gif That's cute Frankie likes the shower. Halle does too. Whenever Scott or I are in the shower she's quick to come into the bathroom too and usually cries at the door until we let her in. At least a few times a week she's in the shower with us. She just loves sitting at the bottom playing.

Oh I forgot to say Halle got this gorgeous doll from my parents. It was a Kate and Finn doll but what made it so special was it was a first birthday one and it's name was Halle wub.gif I love it and so does Halle. She's constantly carrying it around wub.gif

Gotta scoot xx
Channy
Mum and my sister looked after Aidan today, he had a big poo-plosion this morning and a slightly better one this afternoon. We are going to see what happens in the morning. He is well enough - playing with all his new toys today.

Had such a busy day at work, lots of my stuff isn't being looked at on Thurs/Fri and Monday can be a bit horrid sad.gif Bring on Wednesday arvo and then 5 days off!

Mel - I day out shopping baby free sounds perfect, you'll get so much done! So exciting that she is on the brink of walking!!

Katie - so glad to hear Halle's party went well. Shame about the people not turning up, I hate that too. Her doll sounds gorgeous! I would love to see pics!!

I wish I had a 4hr labour. My labour was just under 22hrs with Aidan. I had a stretch and sweep done on the Friday and got pains through the afternoon that got heavier. I went to bed at 9pm and woke at 1am with contractions every 5minutes. Counted them until 4am when I felt they were getting alot stronger and we called the hospital and they said to come in. Got in and I was 3cm, so they put me into the birth suite. I laboured all morning okay, but by lunchtime it was horrible. I had 'coupling contractions' over and over (no break in between). I had morphine, did nothing and then an epidural, but it didn't work and I still felt contractions fully on 1 side and then drained away back to feeling it all. They try to realign it several times, I had 3 big shots of painkilling drugs and it didn't work. I was an an absolute universe of pain and couldn't talk or even open my eyes. I had a second epidural when I was fully dilated, but then still felt all the pushing pain...then finally started pushing around 8:30pm and by 10pm, he just wasn't coming out. They then geared up for a forceps delivery. So painful, so much damage - but it got him out. He was fine - perfect bubba, but I was a physical and mental wreck. So sore for about 2 weeks. I think that is where my PND/Anxiety issues started. I was soooo exhausted, bruised every where, urine passing issues, swollen, beaten up - but I had no time to recover, straight into it. I've had to have physio through the hospital to recover.

I am hoping, praying for a very short labour with the next one...!!! or I'll pray the epidural works this time!!

Just ducking in quickly...

Happy birthday to the beautiful Halle! Have a wonderful day! wub.gif

Ok back for a longer post

Katie give Halle a kiss for me. I hope she has a great day. Will she have some icecream too? tongue.gif I have Mia some once and she loved it! Sounds like the party went really well. So annoying that some people didnt turn up! I wouldnt be happy. But I guess it is hard so close to christmas sad.gif Do you have many people "combining" Halle's christmas and birthday presents? I have had so many people do it for Mia's. And her birthday is 15th November! I don't mind but feel sorry for her as she gets older.
I was induced also! But only because my water broke and my contractions werent very strong for over 24 hours so they wanted to get things moving. I had the drip, not the gels.

Channy good lord your labour sounded awful. You poor thing. I can't believe the epi didnt work! I felt the strong pains and said I want an epi now! I had about 1-2 hours of bad pains and that was enough for me! I had the epi in and laboured with it in for 9 hours. I could still feel the contractions, but they were just very uncomfortable. I bet your next birth will be so much better. You will know what to expect and be better prepared maybe?

Im writing out a big shopping list to do when the in laws get here. I have finished christmas shopping but I still need to buy all the food for christmas lunch. Im buying a big ham and making this recipe http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/15012/swee...tard+glazed+ham
Hope it turns out ok! Also making rosemary and garlic potatoes, carrots and pumpkin, coleslaw and green salad. Mum is bringing pudding. Yum.
We have hubbys family thing at night, not sure how Mia will go in the portacot though. We will just have to deal with it though.
Had a great sleep last night, she fell asleep at 7.30 and woke at 7 this morning. I was up at 5.30am wacko.gif couldnt sleep! lol.

Hope everyone is having a great day biggrin.gif
Channy
1 more day of work - then off for Xmas weekend - yay!!

Aidan had a good day at daycare, one runny poo in the afternoon, but okay apart from that. Karl finishes early tomorrow, so he'll pick him up then.

Mel - YUMMY! Your Xmas cooking sounds great!! I can't wait for Xmas lunch, we have a huge feast planned. Hope Mia sleeps okay in the portacot, are you staying overnight?
