I Am Nae
Hi Girls,

Just a quick question before I start making dinner.

I brought my wedding dress last week and due to the design I'm finding it really hard to get a bra that will suit the style; it's low cut at the back with a hulter neck at the front however, the front part is cric-crossed with fabric so I cant actually have that middle section of a bar as it would show.

A friend suggested those sticky boob/ cups you can purchase from many lingerie stores but I'm unsure if they will stay and I'm unsure if you can use extra amounts of sticky backing? I've heard so many horror stories with these things, I don't want to be walking down the isle and adjusting myself because the cup keeps popping off.

Has anyone used these and had a positive result? Can anyone suggest an actual bra?

Thanks a million biggrin.gif
Rain...
Hey,

I used to wear those stick on (silicon feel) bras all the time. They were the ones which clipped together at the front in the middle. I used to wear them clubbing when i was younger, and they were fine! I never had any issues.

I found they dont offer aheap of support, but more make you breasts look better shaped, etc. Actually they were kinda supportive... not alot, but alittle.

If you do go down this road, i would definalty try then quite afew times before your wedding. I found ti took me afew goes to find where to put them, and what to do to make them fit the best.

Also, Im a B/C cup, and i did purchase a B, which was WAY to small, so if you are abit in between cup size, i would advise you to go the bigger size.

OR have u looked at the U bar? I have never worn one... but maybe it would be ok. Im sure you can get them with adjustable straps (So you can change it to a halter neck)

I was going to suggest the U bra. My girlfriend who is D cup swears by it.

Do you have the possibility of having cups sewn into your dress? This might be another option.

I was coming in here to say the same thing as Jess did, Nae. I had cups sewn into my dress, and my seamstress literally put a couple of stitches in the cup through to the inner lining of the dress, and you couldn't tell, but it gave me enough support all day. (And I NEVER go without a bra, so that was a big thing for me!)

Thanks for the suggestions.

I'm small in the boob department and though my partner thinks I could get away without a bra, the dress is shear and I'd be showing my nipple area off to our guests; I guess sewing bra cups onto the dress would be hard due to the fabric.

RAIN - I asked about U Bra and they had no idea what I was going on about. Do you know if the back strap is low and can you make the hulter straps see through? The lady yesterday said I'd be best getting an A-cup because I'm not a full size B ... wow, thats disappointing. I'd like something to give an illusion of bigger or fuller boobs.

Thought I'd pop back and add a couple of pictures of my dress; the quailty isn't the best.

The back of the dress is really low and the cut sits on my tail bone (or just above). I was wearing my normal t-shirt bra in the picture; if I get a normal bra I'd have to buy a fabric fairly close to my dress colour and I would cover it up at the back with that.

This is front of my dress

I'm unsure if I should wear a necklace as it might be too much or not sit right due to my tiny boobs. You can see my bra in the image and this is somethig I want to avoid showing.

Not sure if this will be helpful but saw this on ACA last night:

Looks pretty good, but I'm not sure how much of your bra you can see at the front from the pic so it may or may not work. A suggestion anyhow - good luck! smile.gif

Thanks Melz.

That's actually a really good idea however, I think the middle section that that bra would show on the lace up section on my dress (you can see the middle section of my bra slightly on the front picture). Might buy one just to see how it looks though ... do you know how many times you can re-use the bra?

I thought of you last night when I saw it on ACA but didn't suggest it because you said the front would show a bra. I think the report said up to 80 uses though, and RRP is $79.95 so approx $1/use.

If you go without a bra, im sure there are sticking things you can get to go over your nipples so they aren't on show. Places like BnT should know what they are.

Bras n things have heaps of different options for going "braless"

* Chicken fillets
* Bra tape
* Nipple covers
* Stick on cups/bra

I fully recommend the bra tape. There are specific ways of wrapping yourself up (google it) which work really well, especially for such a low-cut dress. I've taped myself up before (I have big boobs) and the support was just fine. You get used to the way the tape feels and it's far more secure and supportive than those nudy bra things that stick on.

PS - NO NECKLACE! You've already got a really busy front. I would suggest some pretty but not too dangly earrings and something for your hair. That dress speaks for itself, you don't need extra bling. smile.gif
