Hubby and I have completed our family and are considering tubal ligation as our preferred choice of contraception (a vasectomy is not an option for medical reasons).

I was wondering if anyone would share their experiences or be able to answer any of these questions just to give us an idea before I head to my GP for a chat:-

Did your surgeon give you figures regarding the "failure" rate of their ops (i.e. number of known pregnancies resulting after their surgeries)?
Did you have any short or long-term side effects?
Is it always done under GA?
How much does it cost?
