Yes, my partner and I are getting married 16.10.10. We have booked the ceremoney, venue and I think we have a photographer lined up. How far along is everyone else?

ErinK
Wow, haha, my partner and I are also getting married on the 16.10.10...we have booked the venue, celebrant, bridesmaid dresses, suits, cars, have sorted out bonboniere and I have my dress..can't find nice shoes, a good florist, a good cake place or a good photographer though..=S

How far along is everyone else?
KiJo
We are getting married on 2.10.10!
So far, we have booked our ceremony & reception location, photographer & videographer. We have booked 2 out of our 3 cars, and are about to book our wedding entertainment (one-man band). I am going to start dress shopping in about 2 weeks...

I love having lots of time to plan everything - it takes all the stress away!!!

Haha, that is funny! You have done so much more than us!Idid forget though our entertainment DJ/Pianist comes with our venue, so at least that is done. And the guys are dressed too (in kilts).
BUT.. need to get cracking by the sounds of things!

Has everyone had their engagement party or are you havin one at all? We are planning ours for Feb next year, as my best friend and Chief Bridesmaid is in the UK until then. A bit close to the wedding probably, but I couldn't do it without her here.

Dresses.. the fun part.. I keep putting off looking as I keep tyring (and failing!) to lose weight first. Extra stupid as I have been trying and failingfor at least 10 years now!
Still VERY excited to looking tho!

Keep me posted on when any of you get stuff done,I love to hear as my friends are either long married or single!

And shoes are so hard! I have had a lookand there isnot much choice.

KiJo
Kay - We had our engagement party back in July, although we have been engaged since February so it was as long as I could wait, as I was too excited!! Plus my younger brother lives in Perth, so we wanted to organise it so that he was able to come. That's why we are getting married on Oct long weekend, so that it gives him time to fly over! I am the same as you in terms of dresses - have been putting it off for ages, due to the whole weight thing!! Lost 5kg for our engagement party, but seem to have put it all back on again... sad.gif I have made the crunch decision though, and we are going next weekend!! Im very excited but also very nervous! Especially about the whole weight thing...I want to feel beautiful when I try on a dress - not like a big fat slob! haha. We will see how it goes....

All brides look beautiful on their wedding day and I am sure you will too. After all they want to marry us just as we are right! Just do the best you can, no one likes those brides who have starved themselve silly for months only to look like a shadow of their former selves! I am taking the plunge too at the end of the month and trying on some dresses! Going down to Melbourne actaully which I am excited about.
Good luck with your dress trying on the weekend smile.gif

Hi girls,

I found my wedding dress yesterday!! Started shopping a couple of weeks ago, and had found a few nice ones, but nothing which really stood out! I liked bits and pieces off each of them, but there was always one thing I didn't like... So, took the day off work yesterday, and went down to Sydney (im in Newcastle) with my mum.. found THE dress, and theres not one thing I would change! It's true what they say - I really didn't want to take it off!! Im abit sad, coz my BMs wernt with me to let me know their opinions, and so they could get involved, but I love it so much, im sure they will too! Now the hard part is trying to keep quiet for 11 months!! hehe..

Hows everyone else going???
cobie1987
Hiya,

Im a 23rd october 2010 bride. it was changed yesterday because my grandparents who are very important to me, couldn't make it to the date we previously set (6th november 2010) as the booked a cruise which they couldn't get a refund for, so it was easier for me to change rather than them change. Our wedding theme is frangipani's & the beach.

So far I have the photographer, celebrant, surf club (where we are having our reception), my nan is doing the flowers, BM dresses, GM pants, ring cushion, garter, catering (along with my brother and uncle cuz they are chefs, and that is their gift), we are just having a help ur self summer spread buffet, with salads, sliced meat, desserts, etc..

FMIL is making our wedding cake, I have already made up our save the date packs, just need 2 send them after I print a new cover letter, I've made our invites, rsvp, thank-yous, place cards and table numbers (which are named after aussie beaches) on the computer, just need 2 change the date (as it only got changed yesterday). Our favours are message in a bottle, with sand and shells. The messages are just different poems, our names and wedding date.. That is it so far

Wife2be yay for u finding ur "the one" dress. I have to go dress looking, to find a style to suit me, as I am buying my dress online. We have a very low budget of $4000 to pay for the WHOLE wedding..

I still have to lose 60ish kgs before about june.. Fingers crossed I can do that (I've lost nearly 40kgs already in 6mths, so im happy with that so far smile.gif)

Yay to sharing this journey with u ladies, and sorry for the long post..

Wow! That's amazing!! Well done! I clicked on your link to the diet you are on.. it's obviously working for you!! I ideally would like to lose 20kg before our wedding. I did a quick stint on weight watchers in May and lost 5 kgs, so Im wanting to re-join after xmas and hopefully will lose the 20kgs!! You obviously swear by your diet....

You are VERY organised!! You even have table numbers and everything done! I'm pretty sure I have found our bridesmaid dresses, but just want to double check that there is nothing else out there... THe boys are going to go and get their suits after xmas, as one of our GM is going overseas for a couple of months, and won't be back until August. We are going to check out a band on Friday night, so hopefully we will have that sorted after the weekend, and then next on the list is sorting out flowers, decorations & cake!!!

How is everyone else's plans coming along??
Emmyzilla
I am getting married Sunday 3rd October 2010. We needed to find a long weekend because my church won't marry me on a Saturday and I can't hold the reception on a normal Sunday because then half the guests won't turn up (cultural wedding reception!). It was pretty hard finding a suitable long weekend - as it is, the 3rd October is my dad's birthday. Do you think its suitable to have the wedding on the same day as his birthday?

So far I've tentatively booked the church, the reception and ordered for my wedding dress to be made.

I bought my dress last weekend and am SO excited. Was nothing like I had set out to find. I was after something simple... well lets just say the one I chose was NOT at all the simple dress I had in mind, but I fell in love. Did all the right things in all the right places.. best of all... I don't have to loose and weight to fit into it! Bonus! I will still try to tone up, but Lord knows I have only failed in the past!!
Very excited and I too do not know how I will shut up about it for 10 months! I already accidentally let slip to my groom that I bought a veil!

WOW, you are super organised! Good on you. And as for losing 40kgs, you must feel amazing, well done! As I said in a previous post, enjoy your engagment and don't get hung up on the amount of kgs you have to lose. Remember he loves you as you are and just do the best you can. I just bought my dress, got a gorgeous dress when I was down in Melbourne for $2500, so for $4000 you can seriously get something spectaular! I bought a dress that fits the body I have NOW, not the one I was hoping to be! So much less pressure. And if I do lose weight, all well and good too!
Dress shopping is so exciting, wish you the best of luck on your search!!
cobie1987
kay: the reason i wanted to lose weight is because i was 176kgs.. at 22 tht is not a good weight. and i want to be in a healthier weight range as FH and i are ttc from about july next yr onwards.. . i figure, what ever my size is about april, im ording in that size. right now im just plotting along, is the weight comes off it comes of.

I think i may have found "the one" (my dress, already have the man smile.gif )
erin993
Wow - $4000 for a dress is a HUGE budget!!!!!!

My dress cost $700 inc slip - but i got it while i was in america and everything is cheaper there! I LOVE it! I went looking because I knew I wouldn't find anything reasonably priced that would fit my boobs (16G) without having major alterations.....

I am trying to not put on weight - as i lost weight while i was overseas, and i dont want to put the 10kg back on and not fit in the dress. Id also hate to lose too much weight though that my dress doesn't fit.. I'm a 14 (except in the boobs) so am happy with that - just want to tone up - and flatten that tummy... oh - and the arms i guess.... ok - lets tell the truth - never happy!

I have booked ceremony and reception, band, engagement party catering, photographer, found celebrant just waiting to hear if he's avail... and thats it.... but its the big (and expensive) parts done at least! smile.gif smile.gif
cobie1987
Erin: i figured i didnt clarify in my first post. it isnt $4000 for a dress, its $4000 for the WHOLE wedding.. LOL, maybe i should have put for the whole wedding in the post.. my bad

Yay on all the stuff u already have done..

I made colouring book packs for all the kids at our wedding and had them all completed, then we had to do emergency wedding date change, and now i have to re make most of the elements of them because of the date (it had the old date on them sad.gif ) an well gives me something to do...
erin993
oh - ha ha - that changes things... I was just thinking cheap and $4000 didnt go together.. Wow, $4000 for the whole wedding is certainly a budget though. DF and I had our heart set on a few elements of our wedding and I can't believe how quickly everything adds up - I thought my wedding would be cheap but it certianly wont be.... Not to matter, it's only once you do it, I just hope the parents chip in so we are not paying it off for the next million years!
GoodiesGirl
Hello gorgeous girls! So glad to find you all here, sorry I haven't responded since I first posted lol. As for our plans, we've had to find a new venue, as a month or so ago, our venue cancelled on us. They sold it (news to us, we didn't even know it was on the market), and the new owners (they also own Potters) decided our wedding wasn't important enough to keep the venue open for and decided to close it down sad.gif

Thankfully we've now found a new venue.... We've booked our celebrant, And thats about it. I've been so badly indecisive about everything. I have a dress on lay-buy, but I've decided I'm not in love with it.... I'm worried that its not "enough" given our new venue has a very rich opulant feel to it. Um, have had bm issues, but think I'm sorted bm wise now. I have our rings at home, and my earrings. One of my mum's friends is a photographer, so she's doing our photos for us, and I think thats about it for now. Lemme know if you wanna see photos! biggrin.gif

And shoes are so hard! I have had a lookand there isnot much choice.

Kay, We actually had our E-Party in July of 2008, we just had some family and friends at home for a lunch. Was pretty low key, but did the trick smile.gif

Don't even talk to me about shoes! I found the perfect pair, the last pair in my size in the perfect color, I had them here at home, had them in their box on the couch, (had been comparing bm dress samples to the color of the shoes.... they were a gorgeous purple) went out for an hour to put FH's cheque into the bank, came home and my 8 month old puppy had chewed them up!!! sad.gif blink.gif unsure.gif So now one of them no longer has a slingback on it.... so the search starts again!!

Ok so 17-10-10 is booked in for ceremony and reception at emu bottom homestead. Ceremony and pre-dinner drinks in gardens - then reception in woolshed.

Our engagement party is coming up fast - 6th Feb at our house. We have caterers doing a spit roast (lamb, pork and beef, with spuds, corn, bread, salads etc - and only about $10pp!!!) So that will be yummy and very exciting - but HEAPS to do at home before then (so I really shouldn't be on the internet!!!)

So far I have booked/purchased:
Ceremony - Emu Bottom Homestead gardens
Reception - Emu Bottom Homestead woolshed
Celebrant - Bernard Morey
Band - The Baker Boys - 1 hr pre-dinner drinks acoustic music in gardens and 4 hours reception
Dress - Purchased while I was in the USA
Photographer - Artshot
Special surprised entertainment at wedding
Honeymoon booked and mostly paid - Thailand - 6 nights at Marina Phuket Resort (between Karon and Kata) in a jungle view room - DEVINE! and 3 nights in Bangkok at Siam@Siam
Found a collection of frames and mirror i purchased AGES ago and never used will look PERFECT at our candy bar/guest book area - will put some pics in a couple, and some quotes (was looking where i could include the whinnie the pooh quotes and this will be perfect) in a couple of others - and then "Candy BAr - please help yourself and please sign our guestbook" type message in the last one!
Flowergirl dress - DF's niece is going to wear the same dress that I wore to my cousins wedding many many years ago - i have kept it all this time so am going to have it cleaned for her to wear. Will fit her perfectly!!!!!

And things in the pipeline:

Looking at going to Rupertswood Mansion for some photography
Going shopping with MOH for BM dresses in two weeks - will also have my E ring re-sized while I'm there and look at wedding bands (DF got ring in Sydney - we live in Melb and MOH lives in SYD)
Have started looking at flowers and cakes
Wedding night hotel chosen - but not yet booked
Have found the perfect candy jar set - just waiting for the shop to get them in - and not expensive at all
Stationary - found what we want online - just need to wait until we have final timeline in place before ordering and printing them

Things still to do:

BM dresses
Flowers
Cake
Bonbonerie (wasn't going to have any but have found some cute things that are not expensive and match our stationary etc so might have to get them!)
Suits
Cars - probably just going to use our own - but looking at what friends have also
rings
jewellry
hair and make up (this one will be HARD!)
MUSIC - also hard - will play from CD/Ipod for ceremony but having trouble picking what songs. Same goes for first dance
MC - still need to choose - HUGE lack of suitable options here
Shoes, viel etc will look in sydney

Ummmm - surely there is more I have missed!???

So exciting to see things falling into place though!!! smile.gif

Friday 15th October Wedding

I am getting married 15th Oct in QLD (I live in VIC - so a bit harder to plan!).

I have booked a ceremony and reception venue, a celebrant, a boat (as we are doing a 1 hour cocktail cruise for the guests in between ceremony and reception) and I have bought the bonbonniere.

We are having a beach/river wedding... theme being white flowers, big green leaves & bamboo. I'm thinking champagne coloured bridesmaid dresses - will this match? What suits for the boys will go with this?

I have accommodation booked and some chair hire - thats all so far!!

I tend to be concentrating on all the little exciting details - SHOES!! I'm thinking of wearing as my 'something blue' the blue Manolo Blahniks that Carrie wore in SATC movie! Does anyone remember these shoes - the ones in the WIR!!

I see the website 'panache' also has some nice looking ones!!

Any October QLD brides??

Where are you all, girls?

Wow, didn't realise it has been so long since I was on here, with Xmas and New Years and then we went to Thailand for two weeks, really got away from me.

You girls are doing so well, organising your save the dates and invites already, i really need to do that. I just got an invite from a freiend that I love, looks to have been printed, I am going to ask where from ansd how much, as I think i would not be that great at making my own! But if it is very expensive, I would definitely give it a go, both the mums and my bridesmaids are quite creative, thank goodness.

I wen to see my friend who is a wedding decorator at the end of December and got all my decorations and flowers sorted which is awesome. Have cars in the pipelines apparently (left that to him... hopefully he can do that one job!!). BM's are picking their own dresses, friend is now organising the cake for me, so really just leaves hair, make up, invites and placecards, bonboniere... I think!

Found some great shoes today in Kmart of all places... for $15! There were two pairs there that were $15 each and very wedding-ish, ivory and a darker ivory with bows and brooches, well worth a look. I will take them to my next dress fitting. if they turn out a bad match, I am only $30 out!

PS, gained 5kgs over Xmas... disaster! Oh well, have 5 months to lose it before next fitting!!

Fae Spring Bride
Hey everyone. We recently changed our wedding date to 20-10-2010. So we'll be married in October.
We haven't booked or bought anything, and we've been engaged for 2 years. blink.gif We might be in a bit of trouble!!

I am excited, we are finally going wedding dress shopping on Saturday. This will be the 2nd time i've been out looking. I know i'm running out of time but I have been trying so very hard to drop the excess baby weight!!

cobie1987 - Red sneakers are AWESOME! I have to wear flats for a while at mine, as we're trekking into the rainforest. I will throw heals on (if i can) while we have the ceremony and back at the reception. I want to be at least eye level with my man!
Also well done on getting stationary done! I have ordered samples from America as I wanted to DIY pocket tri-folds and couldn't find the blasted things over here. Hoping that they are what I wanted!

Anyone else doing 20-10-2010??
cobie1987
hi fae spring bride, were almost wedding twins, im on the 23rd...

U should probably start looking at booking the reception and ceremony locations.. usually everything falls in to place. at least u have a date picked, which is always good... LOL

U should probably start looking at booking the reception and ceremony locations.. usually everything falls in to place. at least u have a date picked, which is always good... LOL

I think we've decided on the location, just a matter of putting the money down. Best thing is, we've already saved our entire budget! It's just sitting an a bank account accumulating interest. tongue.gif

Hi all,

so, we had our engagement party a few weeks ago. Was so much fun, really got me excited for the day! Nice to get all the friends and family together.

At the moment just trying to juggle the finances! Sure you all know how that is! We were supposed to pay the deposit for the honeymoon last week, but we have to leave it for now. We want to go to Hawaii for two weeks. Anyone else know what they are doing for honeymoon? We now have to wait and see what is affordable closer to the time I think.

Found out I can pick my dress up in May which is also very excited! I can hardly remember what it looks like now.

Had a meeting with thr Reverend last night, was nice to go back to the church to get the feel. We decided to get the organist for the church and play the old "here comes the bride" song, as they were having organ practice on the night and it sounded awesome in the old chrch.

How is everyone elses planning going???
Emmyzilla
So far we've booked the reception, the ceremony church, picked our photo locations, booked transport, booked photography and I've finally decided on the bridesmaid dresses.

I started out insisting on blue, now its changed to light gold. To save costs, i've decided to DIY for the following: bridesmaid dresses (my mother, who is a maker for Cooper St is making them), make up, hairdressing for 3 bridesmaids (hair is too curly or too short for a hairdresser to be useful) and - only recently - flowers.

What colour are your bouquets going to be and which flowers will you be using that are definately going to be available in October?

Gold will be lovely, do you know what kind of colours you will do for your reception and invites etc?

DIY all of that, wow , you are brave! Good thing is you can play around with the hair (and even try flowers) before the big day.

I am having Anenome's, white with a black centre (as my bridesmaids are in Black)

IPB Image

(tried to attached an image... not sure I did it correctly!)

Yes I did check they are available in October.

I may have a few other white flowers as a bit of a filler on mine too. Black ribbon on the BM'
s and ivory ribbon around mine.

There are SO many beautiful flowers around in Spring. Do you have any thoughts or ideas?
Fae Spring Bride
I'm lost with flowers... I really am! I my colours are white, black and red. I originally wanted red tulips and roses, but it's "too bold". Then I wanted all white. But it's "too plain" and red + white bouquets look like polka dots. Eeep! Scary!
The anenome's are very different! Not sure if i like them or not just yet. They're very pretty thought!
My favourite flowers are david austin roses, peonies and tulips. They'll look great together, in the right colours!
Emmyzilla
Kay, your BMs are going to be stunning. Those Anenomes will look perfect with black! I didn't think about ribbons but that's a good idea to keep the bouquets neat looking. I'm going to do the same for mine now.

I was deciding between 'matching' colours of white and beige/gold or 'contrasting' colours of red and pink and decided for the contrasting because I'm thinking that in October, there will still be more green than colour (am I incorrect in thinking that? I don't know much about flowers) so I wanted some colour for the photos we are taking in the garden. My colour theme goes out the window though, it's changed so many times - from white, blue and purple to black, light gold and ivory now to light gold, red and pink. Or can I keep the black, light gold and ivory theme and still have red and pink flowers?

David Austin roses are gorgeous! My wedding date is too early for them though because I think they become available from mid to late October.

I think you can have contrasting flowers for sure. It is spring after all! I have never been to a wedding where I have gone "Wow, those flowers don't match!" and I have been to a few weddings now. I think get what you love.

Fae Spring Bride- you can even go with subtle coulrs, paler shades that might not be so bold as the reds, but still in the flowers you love. You can get flowers in pretty much any shade or tone you want these days.

Newbie to the forum here! Wedding date 24/10/10! YAY! You guys seem to have organised so much already.
I've booked ceremony location, reception location, photographer, celebrant and I have my dress. That's pretty much it.
I do know what I want for most other things though. I just need to actually do it.
It's pretty exciting.
Emmyzilla
Welcome baloo! Yay, another October 2010 twinnie! I'm finding it exciting too... and stressful, but in an exciting sort of way smile.gif

Actually, speaking of stress, even though we've got about six months ahead to keep planning (and saving, for some of us) are any of you finding that you're waking up at 3am in the morning after dreaming about wedding planning details? Maybe it's just me... I used to wake up at 3am dreaming about my task list for work! That's stress for ya.

I think for me, its the financial worries which are the biggest cause of my stress. If I had an endless budget for this wedding, I can't imagine being worried about anything. Anyone else worrying about the wedding budget too at this six month point?
Fae Spring Bride
Emmyzilla... Trust me when I say I know what your going through! All FH ever says is, "is it in the budget?" *sigh*
We're lucky, we have our budget sitting there. No need to save for it anymore. I still want to save 'x' amount a week towards it but with the 2 children and a mortgage it's pretty impossible. But we're already working on $3000 over budget with 'quotes'. So I have had to comprimise a lot on what I want to stay under budget. It's getting tiresome and trying so hard to DIY everything on the cheap. So far I've ordered my gown from the US, getting it altered by my grandma, getting silks from the local lady in the wedding store, having the ceremony in the rainforest (no decoration needed!) blah blah blah...
LOL!
Sorry I didn't want to rant on there. Our bonboneirs were bought last year! We bought 10 cases of clean skin wines (they were divine!) at about $30 a box. They're going to also double as place cards. I'll make my own labels to go on them, with our monogram and stuff. Then going to make a little 'necklace' type thing around them with ribbon and a circle of paper with their names on it. Should look ok. Cheap as piss centerpeices as we're going to through a heap of branches into a vase and hang tealights and beads/gems off them. Then lots and lots of pillar candles, mirrors and then rose petals.
IF you haven't bought them yet look here first!
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2400pc-RED-Silk-Ros...=item4839324f63
Yup... 2400 rose petals for like $13.
Emmyzilla
Wow that is a bargain for rose petals. I really wanted rose petals at my ceremony but apparently its not allowed by the church (anyone else had that restriction???) but I wonder if that only applies to real rose petals (because maybe they turn brown and go rotten or something). I never really thought of using silk rose petals... perhaps they'll allow that.

Hehe Fae, rant all you wish. Who else is going to understand you better than a bunch of brides going through the same thing for a wedding about the same time??? I had such a hard time convincing my own mother to make the bridesmaid dresses. She finally gave in after we couldn't find a decent dressmaker to make them for less than $175 per piece (and at 7 bridesmaids it was just too much) and after I chucked a tantrum about how she just isn't enthusiastic about my wedding when other brides' mothers are (I did feel terrible about it afterwards because she looked like she was about to cry).

I'm pretty excited about my bonboneirs too. I had in mind making some lip balms in personalised tins. The biggest problem with that is that the lead time for the tins is about 2 months, so I have to get started working on them soon if I want them to be ready for the wedding. Fae, your wedding is going to be so pretty smile.gif I want to hang tea lights off my centrepieces too (they look so nice in pics I've seen in magazines) but I haven't even started thinking about that yet. Where can you buy tealights with those hanging things on them?
K+J
Yes, welcome Baloo. It is very exiting isn't it! I found once I started organising one thing, the rest just sort of snowballed and worked themselves out.

BUDGET... I say what budget... my current budget would be about $2.50! Couldn't even get an increase on my credit card to pay my honeymoon, how depressing! Yes, it is all very costly, but many of you girls have great original ideas on how to save and for it to be fun to do too. I need to come up with a few! Can you believe it is only around 6 months now! Yes, I do lie awake and wonder how it will all turn out! But I am sure they all will, they simply have to (must stay positive!)

Emmyzilla- re rose petals, my church originally said no rose petals and I said " what if aassign a friend to sweep them all up and get rid of before they leave" and they agreed. I think its just the mess, cos they said no confetti or anything could be thrown. Worth an ask anyway. Just have to find a willing participant now...

REALLY have to start my diet and exercise plan now too. Are any of you other girls silly like me who have dreams of being ultra fit and ship shape on the day? Any tips, I am failing miserably at the moment (quit Jenny Craig last year, trying Lite n easy, need motivation!)

Yes, Kay I'm the same! I didn't even care until I got obsessed with bridal magazines (a friend who had just been married dumped a whole lot on me) and everyone I saw in them was skinny! I actually started my fitness regime in August last year and the first few months was really hard because I wasn't losing any weight, contrary I gained 4 extra kilos. So that got me really depressed and I was giving up and then getting back on and then giving up again. It's only been in the last two months that I've seen any improvement, so far I have lost 8 kilos (including the 4 i put on). I'm not a very sporty person and exercise doesn't come naturally to me so I have to do classes because then I feel more motivated to keep up with the rest of the class!
I also tried to eat smaller portions and this was really hard in the first few months because I kept on feeling hungry and there were so many times that I'd just say, stuff this, and then eat as much as I wanted. But even with that happening, now I'm finding that I am eating smaller portions naturally and I don't even feel like I want to eat more than I need.

Right now I'm obsessed with my arms. I want them toned in time, and that fatty bit around the chest. I'm finding it so difficult to lose that (without losing the breasts).

You just summed up my life with exercise. I like walking and slow paced things like that, but have to do classes or the gym is a waste of time for me... I end up walking on the treadmill!

And the ARMS... and those cheeky fatty bits on the side of the chest too.... so unneccessary!
The arms are the one place you really can't fake it on the day... they are out on show! I am thinking maybe a personal trainer? As I have been trying (and failing!) to make them look fit for many years now.. might need that extra push.

Emmyzilla- you must be stoked with an 8kg loss, congratulations! Your sensible approach is one that is proven to work. Keep us updated on your progress, maybe we can motivate each other.

Hi Ladies.. smile.gif

Well it's been awhile since I'v been in here!! Have been an active member of the 2010 thread for awhile, but as lots of those brides are now WIVES, I find it fairly quiet in there these days!! tongue.gif

Seems like most of the conversation in here has been similar to the thoughts going on in my mind!! Budget, weightloss (in particular, ARMS!), flowers etc!

Our wedding is 2nd October and so far, I'v booked reception (obviously!), photographer, videographer, table centrepieces & chair covers, florist, MUA, Wedding night accommodation, honeymoon, suits, wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses, cake...

Our colours are Ivory, Charcoal & Purple (Or White, Silver & Purple for reception)
Chair covers are white with organza silver sashes.
For our table centerpieces we are having tall vases filled with white pebbles, with birch branch (like white willow) wrapped with fairy lights and tea lights and rose petals sprinkled around the base...similar to this, but without the ugly big bow wrapped around the middle!

I'm having a small posy of cream roses and the girls are having a mixture of cream & light purple roses

Boys r in dark charcoal suits

Wedding cake is a cupcake tower smile.gif Mixture of chocolate and vanilla cupcakes.

Have also nearly ordered stationary, just waiting to decide on a few finishing touches as FH has been away for 6 weeks working...and only got back last night! But it will be similar to this...

Umm.. what else? We are going to Hawaii for our honeymoon!! We are having 13 nights there all up! We are doing a 7 night cruise around the islands and then are having 6 nights at the Sheraton Waikiki.. I CANT WAIT!!!!!!!

Know what you all mean about the budget! We are managing to keep on track at the moment, but we have so many expenses coming up in the next 6 months! We have just signed the contract on a new house, and we will settle with that in a month or so, we are buying a new car in July (with room for the future kiddies!) & we are doing massive renovations to our house after the wedding! Oh well. what else do we work for? haha...

Looking forward to sharing the next 6 months with you all! smile.gif
