I thought I would start a thread following on from the pregnancy one.

Would love to hear updates ladies.
~Emma~
Great idea Tam, will BBS after little miss is in bed to update :wub.gif
~Emma~
Ok, im back now smile.gif Sophie is sleeping!
Tam, i think this is an awesome idea and would be great to see updates in one thread so i don't have to stalk everyone all aover the place tongue.gif biggrin.gif

Sophie is now 19weeks old and for just over 1 week has been on solids ohmy.gif biggrin.gif She is absolutely LOVING it and can't get enough!! We are now sleeping thru the night for the last 4 nights without a feed, she wakes up 2-3 times in her 13 hour sleep for the dummy, so once we control that, we'll be home and hosed laugh.gif At the moment, she is just having the bellamys with some fruit or vegis mixed thru. Im still a bit unsure on when to increase the amounts etc but im sure we'll work it out! She has 2 meals a day, 8am, and 5pm, think may introduce lunch around 6months..

Developmentally, she is just sbout rolling, she has fluked it a few times, but she pretty much just hovers on her side and then can't figure out what to do with the arm, i think i the next week or so, we'll have her full blown rolling ohmy.gif Tummy time has turned into kneeling time, everytime she goes on her tummy, she pretty much props herself on her knees and off the ground... It isn;t anywhre near crawling (i hope) but its pretty cool tongue.gif

Might leave it there so i still have things to talk about!! I hope some other mummies join us smile.gif
MrsJo
Ohh fabulous idea! Where's your update Tam! And pics!!

Will bbs to do mine! xox
Zelda
Great idea Tam! I'll be stalking you all here for updates until I can join you in a few months. wub.gif

And I agree with Jo - I think all updates should come with pictures of your beautiful little ones (hint hint Emma! wink.gif )
Oldie
typing one handed due to sleeping babe in arms, so apologies for lack of capitals.

good idea tam to have loss and ltttc in this thread.

flynn was 2 weeks old saturday, he is a delightful little thing. had a bit of an unsettled night last night, wanting to feed lots and sleep little but i am sure we will get it right sooner or later.

dh goes back to work tomorrow so it will be interesting times ahead. i think gemma is going to find it hard. she is such a daddy's girl and has loved having him home for the last 2 weeks.

emma - wow, i can't believe sophie is 19 weeks already.

sarah - not long to go now. have you got any names in mind?
bridgetjayne
Great idea Tam, would love to see how everyone is doing. Will update soon smile.gif

Zelda
Yes and pictures - we want pictures! biggrin.gif While I wait for my baby to arrive I would love to see some shots of all of yours as they are probably growing up so quickly. Tam I don't think I've even seen a pic of Molly yet?

Jo we have chosen a name, you'll probably find out when the nursery is finished and I post pics as her name will be prominently displayed in there (I'll laugh if they got it wrong and she turns out to be a boy! tongue.gif )
~Emma~
Sarah, im impatient and i;d love to know her name already wink.gif PM me?? hehe

Tam, what a fabbo idea for a thread! I am sorry that your little Miss is going through a difficult stage. I will put my newborn hat back on and try to come up with some suggestions for you this afternoon.

Emma - Sophie is just gorgeous.

Lil Chicken - Sweetheart, I have EVERYTHING crossed that you are going to be here full time very soon. xxx

BJ - your girls are gorgeous... we have the same fluffy coat with ears in this house too.

Tazz - can't wait to see some new photos!

Here's our recap/update:

My little Evie arrived via c-section at 12.02pm on 1st January. She was born at 30+6 weeks gestation afflicted with severe intrauterine growth restriction she weighed only a tiny 855g and was 32.5 cms long. Here's her first photo:

It was such a brilliant moment because she came out screaming after the neonatologists had warned us that she might not breath on her own. I can't even tell you how relieved we both were when we heard her bellowing. She was whisked straight to the resus table where 2 neontaologists and two nurses worked on her. She and DH then went to the NICU while I was sewn up and taken to recovery. I got to see her when she was about 2 hours old. She was in an incubator and covered with tubes but I remember thinking she was the most beauitful thing I'd ever seen wub.gif .

Evie spent 11 weeks in hospital. She experienced the usual premie challenges and we learnt more than we ever wanted to about neonatal medicine. She gave us one big fright when she was 2 weeks old. Thankfully she pulled through but I still get teary when I think about that awful 3 days when we thought she might not make it.

She came home weighing 1.8 kgs. We thought she was huge but of course everyone else was shocked by how tiny she still was. When I did venture out people would peep into the pram and stop me to ask why she was so small wacko.gif . She went back to hospital in early April to have inguinal hernia's repaired. Because she was still so small (just on 2 kgs) she was admitted to the neonatal intensive care ward after the operation (different hospital but same drill). It was horrible to be back there and so sad to have to leave her in hospital again at night but she pulled through beautifully and is all fixed now.

Evie is eight months old today (just shy of 6 months corrected)!!!! She's gorgeous and funny and still tiny at just over 5 kgs. She started solids at 4.5 months old to try and get some more weight on her and also the paed thought it might help with her reflux (she is on medication to treat that). She's not a huge fan of food... apart from playing with it but we are slowly getting there. So far broccoli mixed with potatoes is her favourite and she is also partial so some mashed avocado. Funnily enough she acts as though we have poisoned her whenever we give her carrot - the gagging and screaming is really something else.
Tazz
Emma, Sophie sounds like she's doing wonderfully! smile.gif LOL about not being able to figure out what to do with her arm. Kiara was doing that for a few weeks before all of a sudden one afternoon it just all clicked and then would never stay on her back for more than 30seconds before rolling onto her tummy. Wow at her getting up onto her knees!! Clever chicky, I'm thinking you may find she's on the move before too long!! tongue.gif
Such gorgeous photos wub.gif We were also hoping Kiara;s hair would stay but nope it ddn't. I'm actually surprised now looking back at how much she had compared to now!

Sarah, would love to hear how your gorgeous boy is going! smile.gif I can't believe he's nearly a year!!

Liza, I went stalking a couple of weeks ago to find out about your bubba 'cos never saw an announcement, and seeing as I didn't get around to posting it in your mummy thread once I found out, I'll say it here - Congratulations hun!! Would love to hear all about him and pics of course!! wub.gif

Oh Tam, rough night you poor thing! Hope it isn't a too common occurrence for you and you can get some shut eye during the day. And once again, pics please! smile.gif

And you'll tell me....??? tongue.gif Oh & btw young lady, I still don't believe I've seen a belly pic??? You do realise I'm going to hassles till I do don't you?? tongue.gif

bridgetjayne, beautiful pics of your girls wub.gif I take it that Brianna loves her little sister immensely (if only it'd stay that way forever huh? lol). (oh & I love that purple jacket, I do believe I currently have it in my pumpkin patch shopping cart wish list tongue.gif)

Kookies, yey was hoping to hear how little Evie was going, was thinking about you just the other week actually and wondering how everything was going. It's wonderful to hear that she is doing so well, I can not imagine how hard those weeks would have been when she was in hospital. the strength you had to have is just amazing.
Mmm some reason can't see your pics, will try again later and see if I can then.

Well our update... Kiara will be 7months old on saturday - yikes!! I can not believe it, time has just flown! She has been and still is just an absolute gem, a real dreamboat. We have certainly been very blessed with such a wonderfully happy contented little girl. From day one she's slept well, fed well, and hardly ever cried, so no doubt will be a horror once we get to the teenage years! laugh.gif
She started sleeping through the night at 10weeks, which was wonderful, but it stopped at about 4.5mths and has only happened a couple of times since. We've had a few trying nights (although I don't complain because in comparison to others' trying nights I still am very lucky).
We started solids at 6mths, it was such a huge thing for me to get my head around, not too sure why, but it was jsut this huge hurdle that I felt very overwhelmed by, but it's gone awesomely and she's taken to eating well and we are still to find anything she doesn't like. She's still wanting to BF 3hrly during the day, but we've now been on 3 solids a day for a week, so am going to start stretching that to 4hrly and cut that to 4bfs instead of 5.
We are rolling all the time, but only back to front, not often the other way and she is starting to shimmy around on the floorboards, so while she's not crawling as such, she is no longer to be found where she was left! smile.gif

oops, sounds like the munchkin is awake so will be off for now and will come back with some pics later.

kookies evie is beautiful xxxx so gorgeous, hope I am joining you in here one day too x

For some reason I just can't get photo bucket to work properly. Firstly it makes them too small, then too big and then i-do only lets me upload one photo per post. So here's the pumpkin shot of Evie:
~Emma~
wow Kooks, she is adorable and still so tiny, although to you, she must be so big, having grown so much wub.gif

Sophie weighed in today at 7.27kg and last week she was 66cm long smile.gif
Oldie
Emma - Sophie is just adorable, she looks very fair now compared to birth.

Sarah - I loved Matilda and it was on our list when we had Gemma.

Tam - hugs to you. We haven't had any of those nights yet, but I remember them well from Gemma. If you have a sling/carrier, they come in really handy for times like that.

Jess - we need some photos from you of Max.

Bridget - Montana looks very cute and cuddly in her jacket. lol at Brianna and her 100's of kisses, we have the same thing going on here. How was Brianna with you once Montana was home?

Jenny - Evie must be a fighter to have had such a tough start to life and come out the other side. I love the pumpkin photo. I love the faces babies make when you give them something they don't like. laugh.gif

Tazz - Kiara is just beautiful. I found the idea of starting solids very overwhelming as well, in part I think because it meant that she was growing up and no longer relied on just me for her food. Have you got any food shots to share?

Kez - I would love to see some updated pics of Eva. Your change of user name really threw me.

Flynn is awake, will come back later to post some pics. smile.gif
Kookies
Oh my goodness Jo... how on earth did I miss the fact that your bub had arrived. Biggest congratulations ever. So thrilled for you. Off to find your announcement thread now. Think I have been living under a rock or something!
liza_jane79
my little man is almost 7 weeks old and almost 6kgs (!?!?) and having a particularily bad time this last couple of weeks. He won't sleep unless on someone and is constipated too which isn't nice....

my birth story is here and contains a few pics... will be back soon for some more updates and to check up on everyones bubbas

xo
Jaydee
Look at all these gorgeous babies wub.gif

Have been reading, hopefully will manage some personals soon. Bit crazy here wacko.gif
~Emma~
No excuse Jaydee, anyone would think you have 2 bubba's 11 months apart tongue.gif (joking, come back whn your ready )
*MrsBear
Wow what a bunch of lovely little ladies! Those photos are beautiful.

Sarah both those names were on our list too. Let us know about the meet and your name reveal.

Jen gosh Evie has been through so much, and you too.

Girls pls update regardless of age time has gone so fast.

LC I have everything crossed for you all the time.

We'll my little one is 6 weeks tomorrow and time has gone so fast she wasnt sleeping well till this week so have spent most of each day feeding and settling. She has big blue eyes and the biggest cheeks and started smiling this week, just melts my heart.

Zelda
Oh Yay Tam - so great to see a pic of Molly at last - she is gorgeous. wub.gif I am just so happy for you that your precious little girl is finally here. I hope she continues to get into a good routine and you can all get some more sleep soon.

I agree with Tam, I'd love to hear updates and see pics of those with littlies over 1 too. smile.gif

Tazz Kiara sounds like such a sweet child, and glad to hear that solids are starting to work out. I still can't believe she's 7 months!
I have been very slack with posting a pic - am quite sick at the moment but when I feel more human I will get around to taking one and showing you. smile.gif

LC I really hope there is some good news headed your way and we will see you in here soon too.

Kooks you have definitely been through a rough time - sounds like Evie is a strong little fighter and I'm so glad everything is going well for you all now. That picture is adorable!

Tam we are hoping an I-do meet will come together on Sunday 20th September, at Bicentennial Park in Homebush. Em and I are really keen to meet up, and I would absolutely love to see you again and meet Molly. Kooks, Liza, Sarah - it wuld be so wonderful to meet you and your babies too - hint hint! tongue.gif Who else is in Sydney?

liza_jane79

Zelda you're so subtle with your hints!! LOL Re the meet, I've already said I will be there, and I *might* bring Ewan too... Look forward to meeting you then! Xo
bridgetjayne
I dont think I can make it to the Sydney meet, but would like to invite anyone to join Liza and I (and a few others) for a mini shoot in November
QUOTE
i will have props and all, a great red wagon, red chair ... the usual christmas package would be $100 for 30 minute session, that would be for one 5 x 7 print and 5 low res digital negatives that you can print out yourself on a cd..

but if you wanted to organise a group just for the bubs then i could do something like i did for you guys at playgroup back in april:

$40.00
10 minute with each bub /mummy
8 x 10 storyboard with 3 images
low res digitial images from the storyboard on a disc , {these can be printed out to a size of 6 x 4)
$20 gift voucher for tindale images to use at a later stage

that way you can use the digital images to print your own christmas cards or to have them designed and printed like your card lady..

At this stage we are thinking a Tues and the shoot will be in the sutherland shire somewhere, just let me know if your keen.

Sorry I haven't been posting, I need my hand smacked.

All is going well here. Montana is really good except from 4 on where she has to be on the boob constantly. It makes doing Briannas night time routine and even feeding myself very hard. Brianna has been really good with Montana up until the last few days where she has been getting very upset when I feed Montana. I have everything crossed this changes.

On a great note, I am fitting into my pre pregnancy jeans!!! No more elastic waistbands for me (although how comfy are they laugh.gif) and my rings also fit again biggrin.gif It has given me such a boost in confidence. Might have to go clothes shopping next time my MIL can take Brianna.

Hope all is well with everyone.

Sorry just stalking in here and had to say that kookies your little Evie is beautiful. What a delight she must be!
liza_jane79
how cute is Evie!!

come on girls, we need some more updates and pics from you all please....

Update from us, well after nearly 6 weeks of fighting with Ewan, trying to get him to sleep in his cot, and me always losing and ending up with him sleeping on me and visions of him still sleeping on me at 14!! we have a result! Turns out my boy is a tummy sleeper and will now happily sleep in his cot for hours!! I am kicking myself for not trying it earlier but then maybe his neck wasnt strong enough earlier so now is the right time... Anyway, I feel like a different person, I can get things done when he's sleeping and I am so happy. See pic of my sleeping beauty:

Hope everyone is doing well and it would be great for those of you in Sydney to come along to the photo shoot in November...

Emma he IS so big!! He's 5.842kgs and 59cm long (and that was on 31st August) and is in size 00 in Bonds, and nearing the end of 000 in everything else.... Alot of 00 fit him length wise but are a bit wide across the shoulders - wont be for much longer ... he's my fatty boomba wub.gif
~Emma~
Very similar to Sophie at the same age!!! Its so adorable isn't it wub.gif
Jaydee
Well, I have one little lady sleeping on me, but have managed two-handed typing.

Liza look at Ewan! wub.gif They're the cutest jarmies. Good to hear you've got his sleeping sorted.

Bridget yay on the jeans smile.gif We've got a similar thing happening here in the afternoons, I hope it passes quickly for both of us.

Kookies Evie is such a cutie-pie, and looks like she's been doing some serious growing.

Tam Molly is just gorgeous wub.gif

Apologies to all those I've forgotten, my brain is FRIED. Mahalia only sleeps when Mr Noisy Boy is asleep- and he has one day nap! Poor little love gets so cranky because she's completely overtired. It's still madly-busy but it's starting to feel much more familiar, which is good.

Kookies
Sorry to have been MIA. We are in Perth at the moment visting my family. It has been wonderful to be here and to have some extra help with Evie. She is loving spending her time with her Grandma and Grandpa - so much attention - she is in heaven.

I would love to come but we are flying back from Perth on Sunday and so won't be able to make it... but definitely next time.

Looking forward to catching up on all your news properly when we get back home.
