Hi!

I hate to admit it, but I am so low maintenance I'm boring! - hair in a thin metal headband, tinted moisturiser/concealer and I'm done. Every day. No change (except for wet hair in a ponytail - no fringe, no nothing!!!!)

I'm now 31 and have no idea how to style my hair or how to apply makeup. My mum always had short hair and never wore makeup, and so I never really got into all that stuff growing up.

So I'm just wondering if there are classes or something that can teach me what to do to 'look after myself' a bit more. The self esteem is plummeting and I need something to make me feel good about myself. I have extremely straight fine hair, and pale skin with pigmentation that got worse after being pregnant. The hard part is I have limited time while trying to juggle my daughter and work, but I still feel I need to do this for me.

Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

Great topic!

I know Napoleon do make up classes and Volona and Associates (might just be in WA) also have hair and make up classes you can do.

There are HEAPS of makeup tips etc online and also hair care tips etc so it might be worth checking them out? Your right - You DO need to do this for yourself - You have had a very rough trot! Little Lauren is SOO cute BTW!

Yes! I would LOVE something like this! I got a great haircut the other day, looks fantastic when blow dryed but pretty bland otherwise and I have NO idea how to properly blow dry.

YOUTUBE is your friend here!!!

I have learnt so many make-up tricks from here, as well as hairstyle tips.

There are heaps of demonstration videos for everything.

I know our local CIT does adult education classes and make up is one of them. They have basic and more detailed ones, you just pick the one you are more comfortable with.

Have a look around and see what is on offer. The best thing is since they aren't brand based there isn't a hard sell or the 'you have to use our products' pushy sales tactics.

Thanks everyone for your replies!

I will have to get on to Youtube to see what I can find when I have some time. I liked the idea of classes so that you could speak to someone who could tell you what would suit you based on your hair/skin colour/type etc, but Youtube could be a good starting point! I'm just so hopeless at this stuff!

I had some highlights done in my hair, which looks nice when I dry my hair off but I just don't have time to do that every day, so not sure what to do with it those other days. wacko.gif
